Indigo in Islington

Got set menu for 1 with onion bajis. Fantastic quality, taste and flavour. An exceptional deal and generous servings. My first time ordering here and I’ve lived locally in the area for 3 years I’d usually order from Hampstead. Today I am glad I tried this gem of a spot will now be my new go to Indian for food as it was delightful, half the price and better taste. Well done and thank you!

Went for a takeaway meal and ended up making friends. Excellent service and they are on the verge of opening for eating in. Can’t wait to see what they do with the place. Good luck lads

Missing food and then took over 40 mins to get an sort of answer to be told have to wait for an other driver to be free nearly an hour after my food was due

Won't order from here again, 1hour 25 minutes wait. Plastic found in our food. And no veg in our vegetable curry. Very water. First time having this Indian and rather disappointed.

3 items incorrect Food was bland.

My king prawn jalfrezi had a watery, tasteless consistency. It had a pointless huge pepper and onion plonked in the sauce. My husband’s vegetable curry with his biryani also had a watery consistency. Very disappointing.

Food was cold. I’m really surprised to find a paneer dish without flavour. Really disappointed.

Food has become very greasy recently, there was a lot of oil in the sauce. Otherwise very tasty and made fresh.

First time customer. Very good experience. Delivery was almost on time. Biryani was delicious. Very good amount of lamb pieces, very soft and flavoursome. Just the prawn purees were a downer as I did request for it to be spicy. The onion bhajee’s were horrible, felt like a chewing rock. Other than that will order again.

Indigo used to be my favourite Indian take-away for a long time. The food always arrive early. Then sadly it lost its standard (food would arrive tepid, the potatoes were never properly cooked, the dhal was watery and tasteless). So I started finding new favourites. HOWEVER!! What just arrived was honestly sensational! And Indigo are straight back to the top of the list! I don't know if the chef's changed? But my food pipping hot (so much so I finished hanging my washing for 5mins and it still was so hot I had to wait a short while after), it was full of flavour, for the same fair prices, the driver was really sweet/kind. ... I couldn't recommend it more! You won't regret it!

Asked for the food to NOT be mild and it was soooo mild even with dishes which were supposed to be spicy. Tried calling to discuss with them but no reply only option was to write review. Bland & tasteless deeply disappointing:(

Restaurant called at the start of the delivery window to tell me they didn't have what they needed in order to make some of the dishes. I changed the order and would have liked to request a partial refund for the price difference. We have been waiting for 45 minutes and still no delivery. Food quality - even though I know its good is 1 star since I cant rate what hasn't arrived.

although the food was delivered on the time stated , it took 35 minutes to arrive from a place thats 10 minutes away drive in light traffic, they texted me that the food is now its on its way, thought it would just take another 10 to 15 minutes, but took 35 minutes

We usually order from another Indian restaurant in the area but thought we would give this another try (we’d had a couple of incorrect orders from here before). Both of our curries tasted bland, one-dimensional and like they’d come from a jar or a packet. I could taste and feel the texture of curry powder in my food. Also only 4 pieces of chicken in a main course. The sides were okay but the curries were no better than supermarket sauces. Took over an hour for delivery too.

45 mins late and no one picks up the phone, he just leaves it off the hook to stop it ringing. They update the order to say it’s “delivered” when it’s not even on the way yet, so I thought it might’ve gone to the wrong house but since no one picks up the phone there’s no way to check.

Over 1 hr late, but they marked it up as delivered when it didn't arrive. I tried calling and texting the restaurant numerous times, but no response. When the food finally arrived it was laughable, the tandoori half chicken was tiny, I have never seen a chicken that small. My husband's food was overcooked and bland. It certainly wasn't worth the wait. I wouldn't order from them again.

The food tasted really bad this time. That was not chicken tikka I got. It tasted nothing like it and to be honest the whole meal was horrible. Such a waste. I have ordered here before and had no problems but really disappointed this time round

Delicious food and professional service

I did not receive the drinks with my order, i called and i was promised refund which i haven’t receive it yet. Called again and they keep promising it will be done. Terrible customer service.

Ordered lamb Naga and the meat was inedible. It was so chewy I ended up throwing it away. The vegetable curry had no vegetables in it. A total disappointment never again very sub-standard food!

Thoroughly enjoyable and flavoursome meal that included spicy poppadoms, a vegetable vindaloo in a rich and spicy yet aromatic sauce, and deliciously light and fluffy pilau rice. Suffice to say, I look forward to ordering from Indigo again soon!

Found a shard of plastic while chewing. Food tasted fine but probably won't order again

Food was hot, tasty, good portions and on time. Maybe a tiny bit too salty but not enough to lose a star - might be personal taste. Would order again.

First time ordering, will order again. Mixed kebab was on the salty side, but the mattar ponir was the most delicious I’ve ever had in London - really tasty cheese, nice spice. Chicken and Pangash fish Dansaks were very flavourful and pretty spicy. Nice to have a Dansak that’s more complex in flavour than what most places offer. Would have had more diverse order if descriptions identified allergens.

Very quick delivery. Instead of getting the vegetable paratha that I ordered, I got a naan bread and a whole vegetable curry, which was strange but nice to get an extra dish! The food could be more spicy and richer but it was fine.

Food was prepared really fast. Good portion sizes. The shatkora gosh was a bit oily and I remember it having a more intense taste the last time I had it a few years back but still tasted good. The Murug Naga and Patia were delicious. Will deffo order again.

Great tasting food, could have been ever so slightly hotter when it arrived. Other than that, the food was of high standard.

First of all, the website have an estimated delivery of 35 to 45 min and, after calling the restaurant twice, I received the food more than an hour an half after my order. The restaurant, despite the long delay, wasn't very polite when I called the 2nd time. Also the "lassi" which is a drink that should be served cold or room temperature, was warm, therefore undrinkable. I am very disappointed with the service.

Had two bad experiences so definitely not ordering again Maybe it’s new people ? Because I have used this place for two years and it was amazing food before .. Bombay potatoes are dry and no taste ,, rogan josh just full of tomato’s and sauce hardly any meat for the price

Ordered food at 8 pm and the estimated delivery time was 9/9.20. It was supposed to be a celebration dinner but when the order arrived it looked as if one order was missing. I called the restaurant as we were hungry and there wasn't enough food. The restaurant told me the order was correct and if I was overcharged it is the fault of Just Eat. So I've just spent 11 days trying to get refunded. I find out from Just Eat that the restaurant was at fault for underdelivering. So I got 1 lamb main meal instead of two and paid £16 for 4 small lamb chops and they denied responsibility. The food tasted nice but check your order. Just Eat remedied the problem when it wasn't their fault.

I am so shocked with the food that I got yesterday I always wrote good reviews for this place but yesterday was disgusting I got Bombay potatoes (was literally boiled potatoes with rice ) I don’t know what happened to the sauce they must of ran out and just tried to mix the last tiny bit in the tin My partner got lamb rogan josh with like 5 bits of tiny meat with LOADS of tomato’s to make the portion look bigger Honestly don’t think I will be coming back after that Shame because I have been ordering from here for like 2 years

Service was good, but everything was a bit dry. Unfortunate because we always order from here and never have complaints so it’s hopefully just a one off, will give them another go to redeem.

The food doesn’t taste good! Its like they forgot to put salt and other species. We order to Indigo before and its always nice. The complementary soup and vegetable is bland, the meat used for kebab is very dry it looks like a left over from last night. We are not happy.

This is the worst restaurant EVER!!!!. Absolutely appalling and disgusting customer service. I ordered food over 2 and a half hours ago. They marked the order as delivered when they hadn't delivered. I called several times only to be shouted at over the phone, dismissed and no apologies given. They are now trying to mess me around and get out of given me a refund. AVOID AT ALL COST.

Usually very good from here but tonight was a big let down, bland food that felt old and very salty, even the poppadoms were stale, both feel unwell after eating half a plate each and left the rest!

Not the quality I used to get from here. The samosas taste like they were frozen and the tikka masala sauce was very grainy and sweet. The naan was fine.

Food was late by 25-30mins and it was actually really bland..I specifically asked to put extra green chillies bt they clearly didn't.wont order again.

I am very disappointed with this restaurant. Having reviewed previous comments, I thought things had changed. However, firstly our food turned up 30 minutes late (2hrs after ordering). Then the food was tough and chewy. The balti was more like a curry and the chips were cold. The restaurant also mentioned that they were new to the kitchen?? Some earlier review responses indicated the same. however this was four months ago. Time to get things right INDIGO. I'm afraid we will not be ordering again.

I had added 2 poppadoms to my order and was expecting another one that comes with the set menu but only got 2 and they also forgot to put in the mango sauce that I also added on But overall the food was very good and would recommend it

Never got it sadly as had a mini emergency and had to go out for 15mins. So can only give average score. Sounded good though. Odd how Amazon leave everything on the doorstep but takeaway never gets left but still says delivered?

We've been here multiple times in the past and the food has always been really good, and very reasonably priced! Unfortunately this time the food was very bland and all the curries had this overly sweet taste to them, which was not very appealing. It feels like it was maybe watered down? I'm not sure. Naan breads were great as usual though.

Unfortunately both the lamb and chicken were tough and both sauces were too spicy. I have ordered these dishes from this restaurant and others before that were not that hot but I’m afraid neither curries were good this evening.

The food is a mixture of fresh and “sitting there for days”. Some bits of chicken are like car tyres (sitting there for days) and some is quite nice. I wouldn’t order again. The hygiene rating (which I didn’t check before ordering) says it all!!
