Indian Style in Sunderland

We have had takeaways from Indian Style at least five times, and, every times, it has been excellent.

Always my go to place for a curry, ordered from here for years and every time the quality of food is beautiful, always recommend to my friends/ family to order and even they are never let down. Can’t fault

Food delivered in good time, was hot and delicious, would def recommend!

This has to be thee single worst Indian takeaway I have had. Considering this has been a regular occurrence on a Sunday for the past decade, I speak from experience. Plate was swimming in water, madras was mild and tasteless the same as the bhuna. Chicken in the bhuna was decent though. A free starter of what can be described as a vegetable medley was received but would have preferred quality over quantity. Reviews from just eat are correct and place this takeaway very low down (shame as, as a child this was the go to place).

Order just arrived at 20:40, was expected at 19:15pm. Have ordered here before and last time it was over two hours late. The food is really good but two times this late just isn’t good enough. Would need to order at 5pm to get my order around 7.

This place is a total shocker I walked 1 mile to go to this takeaway then i was refused service all because i asked to only buy a garlic naan bread (missus was making curry) the guy was overly rude and just said NO i don’t just sell naan now empty handed and raging i have to walk 1 mile back.

The food was hot and was everything we expected....Very tasty and well cooked...

I love the food , the chicken in the curry is lovely , chips are lovely and chunky , best Indian food in the area.

Item missing, I phoned the shop & explained, the person that answered the phone started telling me that I was wrong without even checking the order! He then checked the order & said oh s##t!!! Well.... My driver is busy so you'll just have to get it when he's got time & gave no apology. The food was bland barely any flavouring on tikka chicken.

Food was an hour late, making it nearly 2 hours since ordering. No communication from the restaurant, I had to ring up to chase the order. Food was still hot when arrived however, and was quite tasty. Lamb was slightly chewy

The driver couldn't find my address but it was worth the wait...food is fantastic and I will order all the time from now on.

The meal arrived on time 18:15, the food was fantastic we ordered a family meal for 5to 6 and there was enough for 10. They even put extra curry at no charge. We will definitely be ordering again 10/10

Absolutely horrendous will never order from Indian style again !!!!! Ordered at 5-30 to say it would be there for 6-30 then turn up at 7-20 , the food was freezing greasy and could not eat most of this as could not even warm up as it was fish disgusting and went in the bin after all the wait DISAPPOINTED AND DISGUSTING

Second order in a row incorrect. Sent out replacement curry but keeping rest of meal warm meant it was terrible quality. Will order elsewhere next time

Great service and food quality

Very disappointing. Chicken tikka paneer was vile, more like chunky onions and plan chicken cooked in yellow double cream. Vegetable curry the actual sauce was tasty but veg was finely diced carrot peas sweetcorn green beans and a half of tomato in middle. Chips were anemic very greasy

Fantastic food, have tried many Indian takeaways in Sunderland. This is by far the best one, amazing food.

Very good Tikka Chicken Madras; best I’ve had in ages. Saag Aloo was also excellent and the tikka lamb starter - good. Only problem was the chapatis which were a little erm... tough! On the positive side I’ve managed to mend the shed roof with them. Food was ready bang on time despite the kitchen being very busy on a bank holiday. Indian style remains a firm favourite - maybe source some better chapatis though!?!?

Food was cold. Onion bhaji was stale and cold, same with the naan bread! Never again! What a waste of money!

Told them to use less oil but there was so much oil. Chicken curry was having different smell which was ruining the taste.

Pompadours were stale and soggy. Sag paneer was worst we have ever had.

Its our first order from here and I must say I was impressed. The food was beautiful great portion sizes and a very pleasant delivery driver , I will defiantly recommend a try and I will be ordering again , thankyou for a very enjoyable meal .

Arrived 1hr 30 mins after ordering, 30 mins late, Madras had strange taste I think it was cinnamon, Masala had a weird smokey flavour.

Our first time here, we visited following several recommendations we ordered the Sunday evening banquet and were not disappointed there was so much food and absolutely delicious

Service and delivery time was ok but the food we got was very poor. This used to be the best Indian take away in Sunderland and based on this it’s fell right down in the standards it used to have. The curry’s we got were all extremely bland and it was warm when delivered not piping hot as it should be. Sorry, but I will not be going here again and would advise friends and family to not go here to.

Sorry but probably wont be back . We have had a few from here and they seem to be worse plus was just warm .

Mixed grill was nice but Madras was flavourless and the vegetables in it powdery.

We regularly order food from Indian style and it has always been very efficient to order and very tasty enjoyable, good quality food.

Yes I would order again food was lovely

Food was fine. Mixed kebab tasted smoky, like weird BBQ flavouring? I think it was the sheek kebab. Some of the order was missing, and it came 30mins after set time. Rang to ask where the food was and was told they couldn't help? Odd. Delivery driver gave us £2 back for the missing poppadoms. Fair enough, but would have preferred the order to be correct in the first place.

I ordered the tandoori chicken masala and sadly not much flavour and very salty.

Tasty food , not as hot as it might have been but maybe because of the late delivery, would certainly use again

This is the first and last time I will be using this takeaway. My meal was delivered 1 hour and 45mins after ordering, some 45 minutes late and stone cold. Not even an apology was given. After heating up,the meal was barely acceptable. One of my worst ever takeaway experiences. Never again.

Our order has been late for a number of weeks. Its a real shame because the food is good but they never telephone to tell you that its going to be very late.

The free nan was forgotten about which was a shame

Food could've been hotter but was very nice. Food wasn't ready for confirmed collection time on my computer but only had to wait another 15mins so wasn't too bad.

Pre ordered my food at 5:30pm to be delivered at 7:30pm to receive the wrong curry phoned up straight away to be told that the correct one would be sent out straight away with a fresh rice baring in mind my order was £23 to start with, rest of food was ruined and now an hour later I am still waiting for the curry which may not even be arriving due to complications with staff on phone, absolute disgrace!

It was tasteless and really poor quality. Especially the meat. Not quite sure how it was prepared and I eat a lot of Indian food. Just awful

Ordered chicken and was given prawn which I couldn't eat. Usually very good however tonights meal was poor quality

Excellent service, awesome chilli garlic balti, this is what a balti should taste like. Tikka was correctly coloured, none of the red colour that can only come from additives, other curry houses take note!

Nothing on the website specifies any ingredients. I know you can speak to the restaurant about allergies however every other place I order from actually lists if they use nuts whereas this one does not. Nuts are used in the masala and since nothing mentioned about nuts being used in the masala, like it is on the first 3 restaurants I tried before this one, I ordered it. With someone in the house suffering from a nut allergy obviously not an ideal situation. The food overall was quite nice, delivery was fast and the prices are good however I suggest more information about what is in the products stated so people know what they are ordering.

we will never use just eat again, I did not order tandoori chicken but ordered tikka chicken, and ordered a Kima naan not a tikka naan.thats it no way.

25 minutes later than advised, arrived a few minutes after I called to chase. Plenty of food, free stuff added but if prefer it to be on time

First time ordering from this takeaway. Delivery arrived 10 mins early. Much appreciated as we were starving! Friendly delivery driver. Food was ok, chose veggie dishes, all arrived nice and hot but too many onions in the jalfrezi, with not much other veg. Overall not bad, but not excellent.

Chicken tikka masala the chicken had a disgusting burnt taste and smell, took it back got a new one and it was still the same phones back to complain again and he said sorry it's a new chef as the other one is on holiday he is doing his best but there's nothing more I can do I have give you a new one already!!!
