Indian Spice in Middlesbrough

We ordered from here tonight and the food came hot. The vindaloo was OK but too much tomatoes in it. The korma paneer was delicious. Coconut rice amazing too! Onion bhaji was alright, could be improved as it was too chewy and gooey not crispy. Overall though, the food was really nice and I'd order again.

❌‼️🚫 ONE STAR IF I COULD‼️🚫❌ I recently dined at Indian Spice on Roman Road, and I am extremely disappointed with my experience. The Rogan Josh I ordered was utterly disappointing—the dish was loaded with raw masala and chunks of undercooked tomatoes, completely ruining the flavors. To make matters worse, when I called to express my concerns, the manager was dismissive and unhelpful, showing no interest in resolving the issue. I expected much better quality and service. Sadly, I won't be returning.‼️

This place used to be our favourite Indian takeout and a go-to for a lamb puri. Unfortunately, this was not the case this evening. This place must have changed hands as the food has criminally gone downhill. Dry puri bread was like chewing on ghandis sandles. The curry was way too hot it used to be fragrant and a nice kick not hot enough to have you spending the night on the bog with your backside feeling vesuvius. Uneatable and so disappointed. The bhaji was okay, but that's as much as I can say for that, and the chips seemed undercooked or reused. Even our toddler wanted to put them in the bin, and he goes mad for most chips. The samosa had a nice texture but lacked flavour. We won't be using indian spice ever again.

VERY disappointed in their takeaway service. Placed an order at 5:30 and was still waiting for our food at 8:45. We called several times and were told every time “it’ll be just another half an hour”. We asked for a refund over the phone and they said for us to cancel our order which would mean they’d keep our money. They promised it’d be just another 30 mins more when we refused them this option. After the call, we got told on our Deliveroo app that it had suddenly been delivered. No food in sight. No refund. We have an investigation ongoing about this. Can’t comment on whether food is any nice… haha!

Both curries had minimal meat in. Naans were OK. Several hours later, guts absolutely battered and been on the bog more than toilet duck. Won't be returning. Will stick to our usual good spot in Mbro (won't name because don't want this legit review to look like I'm advertising another business).

Had the best takeaway from them tonight, pickles on point and a great tikka masala!

Unfortunately, they can’t get an order right when it gets busy. Charged me for additional items they they didn’t give me. Also, portion sizes quite small and both curries tasted the same despite being very different menu items.

Don't know what this place is like unfortunately tried to place an order many times as it kept losing the order then would not accept the code for the discount said it was invalid give in I now have been able to order from Indian Spice so pleased I persevered food absolutely lovely hot tasty definitely recommend this place and will be ordering from here again

Excellent service and delicious food

Ordered food via their Web site at 5.45 to be delivered 6.43. Rang to see where it was at 7.05 to be told no order from me. Gave them order number still insisted I hadn't ordered it. Eventually said they found it and it would take another 40 minutes. Their attitude was not very customer focused to put it nicely. Eventually food turned up in a taxi, then the driver started to give me more excuses as why it was late the main word I could gather was "hanging". I must admit by this time I was rather short and just insisted he give me my food and left hom still talking about hanging. Everyone says use the app or website, much better sorry customer service was less than I star from me. Won't be ordering again

Maybe should make a decent keema nan - very tight

The food was hot on arrival. I ordered chicken biryani, I would say the rice was not cooked properly, it didn't have the taste of biryani, really bland. Although, the chicken was cooked good. Won't be ordering chicken biryani from here again.

Waste to order here...staff didnt understood the customer's issues....I came late for collection they speak logic less that they take 20 min for delivery but for collection its only 5 min...even if i came before they cancelled order and instead they showed attitude on customer....never gonna order here again.. better choose good shops where staff gives respect. I didnt liked one thing where staff is saying to block my number ....its really rediculous...start respecting customers..

Half the order missing. Delivered by UBER who where rude and unhelpful. Called to rectify and just kept getting hung up on... cheers!!!

The portion was enough for 3 people although I bought for only myself. Taste delicious and fresh.The only problem was there weren’t much chicken in my chicken nan.

Not very good I’m afraid, the curry was swimming in fat, the pilau rice was bland and and pale looking and the nan bread tasted sweet. First and last time for me.

Its Indian and its spicy. That's the whole point of this place. Don't be surprised if you get something spicy and it's hot, as that show its meany to be, it's not meant to be mild, it's meant to be spicy. The spicy food is very spicy and the mild food is quite mild, so be warned.

Not very good, I got a chicken tikka naan but there was hardly no chicken in it!! I think next time I will I go across the road to balti hut

Had so many orders from here, dopiaza, madras, korma, balti.. Chicken and beef all been really tastey, chips are spot on to love the potatoey taste nice and soft, rice is cooked with seasons, starters are nice to had chicken tikka starter a few times. My favourite Indian take out in town.
