Indian Masala Coventry in Coventry

Ordered for delivery. Paid for extra lamb but was missing from order. Very little meat in the curry. Called to speak to someone and they hung up on me. Avoid this place, it's not very good

The food was mouth watering, very less waiting time. Environment and staff management was top notch. Delicious foods specially mint chutney, kabab , prawn items are super excellent.

I ordered from home, and my order was Chicken tika Masala with mushroom rice and poperdoms it was very nice and shared some of my husband. Thank you, driver, for dropping it off whilst snowing.

Ordered a meal for me and my partner and from the start there was issues. They couldn't get my order right from the beginning. Then when I went in to collect at the time they gave me, it wasn't even ready. The restaurant was extremely quiet and staff members were on their phones sitting in the service area. They were extremely rude and ignorant towards me. The feed was freezing cold when I went back home (I love across the road). The samosas were stale and the bajees were very powdery. There was also black hair mixed in my rice and the naan bread was undercooked. Definitely not worth the £40 we paid.

i want a refund indian masala 😔 i hate spicy food and my chicken tikka masala literally burnt my face off there was no reason for it to be that spicy. i’m also really skint so that refund comment wasn’t a joke but anyway whoever that king was who served me you were really nice

I was oder on uber eat oder come on time food quality a very poor butter chicken so sweet never eat till today sweet butter chicken second thing garlic naan garlic missing just a plan naan not recommend to oder online .

Highly disappointed with the taste of the food received. Fish is not cooked properly and it's not a garlic nan for sure... disappointed there nothing less than a star other wise I would have given that.

Indian Masala Restaurant has great service, with friendly and attentive staff, but the food falls short. The flavors are bland, lacking the boldness you'd expect from Indian cuisine. Good for service, but not for taste.

I had very bad experience from Indian Masala. Now I will never place order in this restaurant. I am in the Hospital emergency department. I already wrote in the message that please put the spoons and tissues Bcz I’m outside. They didn’t give me even tissues. Not even spoons or anything. & also food quality is not soo good. I felt disappointed by this experience. Whoever giving 5 stars of this restaurant.. they all are the staff of the restaurant, relatives of them or friends of them. They all are not genuine customers.

Appalling food. Truly underwhelming. ordered garlic mushroom and it was just plain sautéed mushroom and mostly raw garlic and nothing else. The portion was hardly a handful. Also ordered aloo chat and it was so underwhelming. Not at all worth the time and definitely not worth the money.

Food was taste altho the poppadoms were stale and the lamb and chicken are from frozen packet because its all small uniformed pieces of meet Lamb house special taste rice very nice just the meat portion Warning tape by front door not a great image.only one toilet for all sexes lol poor decor holes in walls and bucket in corn ? I’ve come here regularly for years and also way back when it was Bengal Spice, service is always spot on, atmosphere is calm enough to have a conversation and we never need to pre book for a table before we go.

The taste of tanduri chicken is absent. The food was not of good quality and it was cold.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS! The food I had delivered was far from fresh. It was delivered just in the time frame given which was 30 minutes to 1hr. It was evident the food was heated from frozen from who knows how many days ago. My masala was like water with a splash of oil and tasteless (obvioulsly de-frosted in a microwave). The prawns in the prawn cocktail were swimming in "warm" water. My egg fried rice was extremely dry and even the papadoms were so soggy and bendy I had to tear a piece off rather than snap it off. I called the restaurant less than two minutes after my food was delivered to explain my concerns and that I wanted to return my food and the person on the phone laughed at me telling me that the reason the food was in the state it was in was because it was delivered to me over an hour ago. If that was true it would have meant that the food was delivered before I had even ordered it. He told me that it was my fault the food was spoilt and that he is not taking the food back or refunding my money.

My visit to a dinner on weekdays was upsetting. The curries had similar taste and flavour with portion sizes smaller than expected even for main dishes. Ordered three dishes (Tikka panner, aloo gobi and channa masala) of which all three were in the bland side even with request of extra spice. Naan breads were good but was on the expensive end. The trolley system which they use to bring in food is hectic with damaged wheeels making weird noices. Ambience was good, but the sound from Kitchen was heard till the restaurant floor which was bit annoying.

Terrible Experience - Avoid Indian Masala at All Costs! I had the unfortunate experience of dining at Indian Masala recently, and I must say, it was utterly disappointing. The food quality was abysmal, tasting as if it had been sitting out for hours before being served. Not to mention, the staff's demeanor was shockingly rude, with the manager being the epitome of disrespect and lack of professionalism. From the moment we entered, we were greeted with indifference and impatience. The waitstaff seemed more interested in chatting amongst themselves than attending to the needs of the customers. However, the real cherry on top was the manager, whose arrogance knew no bounds. Instead of addressing our concerns with courtesy and respect, he chose to dismiss them with a dismissive wave of his hand and a condescending tone. Furthermore, the ambiance left much to be desired, with outdated decor and an overall lack of cleanliness. It was evident that no effort was put into maintaining a pleasant dining environment. In summary, I would strongly advise against patronizing Indian Masala unless you enjoy subpar food coupled with atrocious service. Save yourself the disappointment and look elsewhere for an authentic Indian dining experience.

My visit to Indian Masala was a bit underwhelming. While the food was decent, it felt like all the curries had a similar base flavor with different names. What disappointed me more was the staff's attitude—they were quite rude and lacked basic customer service skills. It's a shame when a restaurant fails to make guests feel welcome and valued.

We visited early evening so it was fairly quiet which is the reason for the meh atmosphere rating. Food was good and really good service. Staff were very pleasant and prices for the food is reasonable. Would recommend a visit.

Our visit to this place was an utter disaster. After a grueling day, we hoped for decent food, but what we got was an abomination in the name of Indian cuisine. The starters we ordered were a disgrace – pre-fried pakoras that seemed defrosted and reheated in the microwave, with portion sizes that were laughable. The aloo chaat was nothing but a basic mashed potato subzi, and the samosas were tiny, flavorless, and clearly half-fried and microwaved. Even the complimentary sweet yogurt was a joke, with sour yogurt, clearly it had gone bad. We had planned to order mains, but after the appalling starters, we bolted. This place is a disgrace to Indian cuisine, shamelessly exploiting its name without delivering on quality or taste. Avoid at all costs!

The cuisine was appalling. Naan and butter chicken were my orders. The flavour of the butter chicken was unusual.I was unable to consume it. Don't treat people like this those who are very hungry . please.

Went in early evening, so it was empty but was also pleasantly quiet. Staff were really nice and friendly. Food was utterly wonderful (I had vegetarian stuff). The Dahl tadka was as usual, utterly excellent.

I was staying overnight in Coventry and as always enjoy a indian takeaway. I ordered chicken and mushroom vindaloo and got lamb vindaloo. I also ordered lamb tikka starter and special fried rice. Good points the vindaloo sauce was nice as was the rice. The lamb was the most awful chewy meat I have ever had. And the lamb tikka starter was just as bad. As for mushrooms practically non existence. Very disappointed. Just to finish this is in my memory is the first takeaway not to provide free poppadoms.

Food was normal and the quantity of food was not enough even for one person. Overpriced Items. Not worth visiting here. Totally Bad experience. Better try Khushi grills or Star Grills with better taste and quality food.

We ordered a keema naan, garlic naan , chicken jalfrezi, paneer matar masala and chicken fried rice. It honestly was really bad . The chicken fried rice was so dry, felt like it was kept there for days and they gave it to us heated , not fresh at all. It also dint look or taste like fried rice. Chicken jalfrezi was around 8-9 pound. I wouldn’t say it is overpriced but fir that amount they served us so little quantity and moreover the chicken wasnt cooked properly and the gravy tasted like canned tomatoes. They surely dont know what Keema paratha means. Paneer was ok but matar tasted like the packed ones nd not fresh. The only good thing was i guess the garlic naan. My friend ordered a raita but when we asked he said the raita is only curs and if we require onion or cucumber we should pay extra. Toh dahi likh do, raita kya hai. Real real bad

Food has a good and authentic taste. Staff was Attracting customers with a nice gesture and wish. But the owner is not that great. After one interaction we didn't feel like visiting again.

They don’t know the difference between chicken fried rice and biriyani, Fried rice and biriyani tastes and looks same but different price. All gravy tastes same but different name. Nothing is fresh. Naan is hard and old. I would never suggest this restaurant.

Who adds coconut in butter chicken? You guys need a better chef for sure.

I was struggling to find places to eat in Coventry until I found this place. The highest rank of all goes to their service. The guys serving are very polite, welcoming and very professional. The food was as equally good. I would recommend this place to anybody.

Food 10/10 service 5*. People working here couldnt do more for you. Food was incredible! Everything tasted super fresh their dips with the popadoms couldnt of been better. Personal preference is id of prefered the bhajis larger and maybe 2 instead of 3 but again personal preference. Over all in a week of being in coventry ive revisited 3 times and not been let down once.. Highly recommend

Been twice to this restaurant and I have to say its quite possibly the best value restaurant in the city centre. Most dishes under a 10er and the food is delicious. Attentive staff and a menu that won't confuse 😋 will definitely be back

Initially we walked past because it was empty. Wandered around and could not find anywhere satisfactory to eat. Went back to Indian Massalla. A few others there by now at 20.15. The service was really good and standard Indian menu . Our selection was a Thalia, Tandoori and Roti. The food was much better than expected. The restaurant does not look that good from the outside, this might be typical of this town Coventry, but the food was full of flavour and good value

We had dinner over there every other week it’s the best restaurant for vegetarians who crave for Indian food in Uk. There are so many vegetarian options and Palak paneer was wonderful 🤗

That was the worse Indian takeaway I have ever had.tandori lamb chops were bone dry and freezing cold,nan bread was soft and cold,meat samosas were substandard party food garbage,probably 'Icelands' finest. portions were rediculous. Will not be ordering from them again

Really nice. Free parking round the corner after 18.00. Had poppadoms on the table before i could blink. Really nice main meal of chicken madras not to crazy on the heat. Definitely recommend 👍

Ordered tandoori chicken. Was not marinaded very long/well. Not much chicken either. Also ordered chicken tikka masala. Not like any I've had before didn't taste like a classic tikka masala left half of it.

Have visited this restaurant twice and the food was excellent friendly staff and the food was lovely I ordered some chicken curry which was a bit too hot for me but very tasty and hot. The waiter ask me is it a bit too hot for you I replied think I ordered the wrong curry but he said next time best if you have a balit meal. Anyway I payed and as I was leaving gave me a take away to take home said that's for later and not so hot magic Thank you definitely back Recommended.

I ordered online via uber eats delivery was pretty fast within time scale, but this is reflected in the poor quality food the sauce was watery in my lamb curry paid extra for extra lamb never got it, the rice was tasty but very little, the nans were soggy the kerma nan was only kerma on 1 side and rubbery, the chips had burst out their bag all sitting in bottom of carrier bag and the poppadom well literally fell apart onto a soggy mess 5* for the speed and delivery apart from that sorry would never recommend 😐 I only gave 1 star and can't say that is merited sorry guys

I would give 0 stars if I could, absolutely disgusted with the food here, food and service was absolutely outrageous, wud never suggest this restaurant, everything was undercooked and wasn't even edible. ABSOLUTELY DISAPPOINTED. Drove 2 hours for this and had to wait 2 hours for my food, the hygiene is disgusting and it's not Indian its BENGALI food .

Nothing good about this place. The food is very average. The taste is nowhere close to typical Indian food. The wait time after ordering is 25-30 minutes. The washroom is unhygienic. Service is good apart from one old guy who looks too bossy for their staff.

Had dinner here last night. Started with some poppadoms which were not that crispy and the mango chutney was rather runny. For my starters I had meat samosas which were stunningly tasty, a kebab patty which was void of flavour and rather dry & chicken pakora and whilst the chicken was well cooked the batter around it was rather disappointing. For the main a had chicken tikka masala which was ok, pilal rice which was too coconutty, plain nan which was just that and Bombay potatoes which were rather pleasant and the highlight of the main meal. Staff were not really attentive, had to wave them down to get another drink which was £5.20 a pint of cobra. Service charge was added to the bill which I believe worked out at 15% which is rather slot. Not sure someone should be paying £50 for a meal though I did have 3 pints with that. I wouldn't go back, the food wasn't bad but for the price I would want a little more in quality. The quantity of food was a little too much and ended up leaving some nan and rice at the end. The above is the reason I have awarded 3 stars out of 5.

So the restaurant is not what most people look for, more like a up market cafe, however the food is amazing and better than most nearby in my opinion. If your looking for top notch food for your taste buds give it a try, you may be pleasantly surprised. I went for takeout. Chicken vindaloo, keema naan, chapati and boiled rice.

Food taste is ok. I ordered Fried rice and chicken tikka I guess. Fried rice was not good. "Spicy" here means just adding some red chilli powder to it. You can literally taste the chilli powder taste in it. So don't ask for spicy food here. Chicken tikka is good, timely cooked. The staff is well behaved and friendly

Honestly, it’s not bad. Can’t understand why it’s only got 3.7 rating in google map review. The chess and garlic nan taste good and the masala curry have a rich favour. Try it if you miss Indian food.

Not sure why this place has received poor reviews. Table for 2 and we tried the curry and chicken platters with a few variety of bread specifically the naan and roti. The bread was hot and crispy but still chewy, and the meat was not burnt but very well cooked and still soft on inside. Loved the spices and the sauces that came with the crispy chips at the beginning as an app. Very great servers always coming around to check in on us and the manager was super nice they give student discounts too. I had a great dinner I hope more people can have similar experiences 5/5

Our order arrived with one dish missing. The lamb was chewy and the chicken dry. They did send the missing dish and say sorry half an hour later, once we rang them, but we have had better. Not impressed

Ordered 2 chicken tikka masala, 1 rice and 2 keema nan ...i also ordered mango chutney but was disappointed as received garlic yogurt instead and poppadoms we didn't even order which were soft😒...the rice was only half the size as it has been before. ...not as good as the last one we had from here

Please do yourself a favor and visit this lovely restaurant in Coventry. The service is unmatched. The staff truly cares about your experience. The food is absolutely amazing – Absolutely the best experience l I had while in Coventry.. Highly recommended !! They know what they’re doing and what they’re talking about, and you can tell making the customers happy is their main priority. Miswa & Jhansi you guys are amazing..Felt like I am eating at my own home with my own people.. Thanks a lot for such a warm welcome with a beautiful smile... Amazing Service guys... Keep going... Myself and partner was on a date night, and thought let's give this place a go, we had the samosas for starters they was just like what you would get frozen from a supermarket, very disappointed. We then Then waited a further 40 mins for the main course which wasn't appealing at all swimming in grease, the nanny bread just tasted like flour wasn't worth it at all. Then it came to the bill, we looked at it and was quickly awear that we was given the wrong bill, it took them a further ten minutes to provide us with the right bill. We both were very very disappointed and won't be using this place again

We have just tried the new curry house on Corporation St last might, "Indian Masala". And were very impressed. Not the flashest place, and it looked like there was still work to do putting up pictures etc. But at half the price of one of the more upmarket places nearby, no complaints. The most important thing is that our food was lovely. Good poppadoms and relishes, and then I had Chicken Jalhosa, and my wife Chicken Tikka Pathia. Both were as good as we have had anywhere in Coventry, served piping hot and with plenty of meat. Good friendly service (one member of staff remembered me from when it was Bengal Spice years ago) and reasonable prices (£31 for two of us). No booze on sale, which might be an attempt to keep the old Bengal Spice late drinking crowd out, but that's not a problem for us. So we were very happy, and will certainly be back.
