Ince Plaice Chippy in Wigan

Friendly husband and wife team who were chatty and helpful and gave a little taster of her home made cottage pie for free. Great last minute choice from me, will be going back soon!

Best chippy in Wigan only Shame about the limited opening hours.

A bit of a hit and miss. Sometimes it's good. Other times not so much. For the price it's not the worst but could improve. Chips can sometimes be on the hard side. Other times they are great. Smacks. Tend to end up being a bit greasy. Large sausage. what more can you ask for it's a sausage. Fish again can be on the greasy side. Service can get abit slow with only one person serving.

Takes ages to get served and doesn't listen properly sometimes, sent for a bag of chips and buttered barm, she put chips on the barm, threw it away cos I hate soggy bread, nice woman but too much faffing about, needs chill and concentrate on the job in hand

I've been twice, best fish and chips in the area

Only one person serving who was struggling to cope with a full shop. Very slow service, chips were mainly hard and overcooked, batter on fish stuck to wrapper, not good. Won't be returning.

Food always delicious, especially the fish

Wait way too long to be served, surely they can put a bigger amount of chips in when there's customers queuing outside the shop, good food though, although haven't been has its too cold

Absolutely love this chippy beats the rest of the chip shops Proper chips and fish and whatever else u may fancy

Had to wait 20min for fish found them very grease chips though cooked we're small with lots of bits not the best.First time at Ince plaice and won't be going back for more

a big greasey today and could taste the oil in food never had a problem always enjoyed them

I have just had the pleasure of trying one of Oliver's new meals!! The stir fry chicken. Wow!! It was amazing. Plenty of it and really really tasty. I now can't wait to try the beef dish I bought for over the wk-end. Just fandabidozy.

Expensive for a fish and chip shop, small portions, the double cooked chips are nice!

Thought I give them a try as I was passing on Friday Wished I carried on passing Fish was more batter than fish Chips tasted like they been cooked twiceover I wouldnt have even give this to my dogs. Wasnt worth the money Ended up going maccies. Least you know what your buying

Decent enough chippy, fish a bit small though.

This is a local chippy near my place (not plaice) of work, so we use it occasionally for a Chippy Friday treat. The staff have a good banter with the customers, of which many appear to be regulars. The food is well prepared, tasty and reasonably priced and the staff work quickly to get the orders to the customers without any fuss. Overall, an excellent chippy.

The best fish and chip shop for miles around. You will not be dissapointed with anything from here

Great chippy! Chips sausage and gravy with scratchings plus tons of s & v!

When you go to this chippy there is usually a wait. But the wait is really worth it for the quality food that they serve here. This is, personally, one if the best chippies that I've been to in Wigan. As long as you're not the last to be served before they close you're food should taste as great as it always does here.

One of the best chippies going. There's normally a queue for this place but it is well worth it. Shout the guy what you want when you get in to save a 10 minute wait by the time it comes to ordering. Opening times are a little odd but they most probably make more than enough money to open at the times that suit them. Besides the food being top notch the staff are real friendly too and always have a bit of banter with each other and the customers. 5-star eatery right here.

Love this chippy. Always call in whenever I'm driving through ince.
