Il Parco Restaurant in Hackney

I don’t think I’ve ever left a review on trip advisor before but really don’t want anyone else to waste their money at an over priced ‘Italian’. Pizza was like a frozen oven baked pizza - awful. Went for a last minute Sunday evening date and wish we’d stayed in x

Byratta salad- cheese was gard like it was in the freezer. Buratta should be a nice creamy and silky consistency. Tasted more like a plain mozzarella. My friend has a pizza which was okay I guess. Portions small. Food coukd be fresher as salad looked tired and wilted. £57 for a pizza,garlic bread and buratta and two drinks was expensive! Will try a more authentic place next time. The turkish rest next foor is owned by same owner, again the portion sizes were too small for the big prices and not flavoursome.

It starts with poor service, it ends with terrible service. The food is really terrible, you can taste the old oil… I could tell my parmigiana was cooked and frozen, the sauce was splitting, hot to the point your mouth burned on the outside and cold in the middle. Nothing is fresh, the wine we had to put ice in, and I have to admit it was our second time, living in hope we had just had a ‘bad day in the kitchen’ last time. The real story is the owner doesn’t care, we spoke to him and he said his food was the best in the village… ok fella, the tables around us really didn’t agree. Avoid it, spend your money on those trying to do it right!

My husband and I have eaten here many times. The food is always amazing and the staff are always friendly and helpful. Sometimes, especially weekends, it’s very busy and we have to wait a little longer but the overall experience here is well worth it.

Bad quality food which is surprising when they serve pasta and pizza. We ordered mussels (with chips) a lot were not opened so not sure how we were supposed to eat them. Chips came when we the mussels were almost finished (frozen 10 chips). We ordered calamari (it is a 4 calamari portion). Pasta was super bad quality, tomato no tasty at all. The waiter asked how was it and we said “not really good” and he left without asking why! Did not care at all… We refused to pay service charge and they again did not ask why… good luck with that. Will not come back and do not recommend it.

Just leaving the place for not coming back. 4/5 food safety (what’s gone wrong during the audit is a mystery). Food is just horrible. Some mussels weren’t even open (which doesn’t meet food hygiene standards btw). Truffle pasta was just tasteless. Bread basket is a joke. I will really request local food authorities to audit this place. Do yourself a favour and don’t go. Regards

This is the first time I have visited this restaurant. On entering there is a fantastic family atmosphere. All the staff are extremely friendly and attentive. The food was excellent. There was no rushing or hovering around the table We were left to enjoy our meal and take our time. We had a lovely evening and we all agreed we will definitely be going back again and will recommend it to our family and friends.

Been here a few times. The waitress is so friendly and warm makes me want to go back. Food really nice aswell. Definitely recommend.

Worse meal ever! The pizzas were edible, but lacked toppings. The 4 calamari were bland and chewy. The octopus salad was revolting, an overpowering tomato sauce covered 2 octopus pieces, one was too tough to eat,the other melted in my mouth. I barely ate it and told them I wouldn't pay for it. They were ok with that. We were offered complimentary drinks at the end. They also run Chambers next door.

Absolutely loved Il Parco for dinner last night. The waitress was friendly, funny, and accommodating- we asked to move to a table under a heater and she moved us as soon as one became available. The food was delicious and reasonably priced- highly recommend the truffle pasta.

I wouldn't normally leave a bad review but I feel this really has to be said. My boyfriend and I were walking past Il Parco this evening and noticed that they had an ice cream stand outside of the restaurant. My boyfriend asked for cookies and cream, to which the man behind the counter told us he didn't know which flavour was which. We were a bit perplexed but he offered my boyfriend a taster spoon which he accepted. We didn't think anything of this - it seemed normal. We did think it strange that the man dipped it straight into the vanilla, which was clearly not the right flavour. But not too strange. And when the man asked my boyfriend if he wanted to try a different flavour instead and asked for the spoon back, we assumed he was disposing of it. Oh no. He dipped the spoon that my boyfriend had just eaten from. Straight into the next ice cream tub. Obviously we didn't buy any ice cream from them - we're horrified. This would be absolutely vile and a breach of health and safety under normal circumstances, never mind during a pandemic. We will never be stopping there again.

Eaten here several times and never disappointed. Good selection on specials board and everything freshly cooked. Difficult in this area to find good places to eat that aren’t crowded with pushchairs and dogs at weekends so this restaurant is a blessing.

Convivial lunch with friends at end of November. We had a range of starters and mains all of which were good, tasty, honest home-cooking. Service was kind and friendly too.
