Welcome back Il Basilico! Don't let the relatively plain decor and ambience influence you because you will have missed out on the delicious pizzas, pastas and other dishes available, created by the talented chef here. Long time customers. Note on door said it closed over the quiet Christmas holiday period to re-open in January 2020, with maybe some new themes (?).

Chaotic service, music way too loud, the boss shouting all over the place and the food is mediocre while not cheap. And the interior is terrible.

Found this sweet little restaurant down the road while staying at the park inn. While the decor is pretty basic the staff are friendly and accommodating. The portion sizes are large enough for my two children to share and perfect size for my husband ;). Prices are very reasonable especially compared with hotel prices. Will definitely visit again if in the area.

Always come here for a pizza when I'm staying in hotels near Heathrow. Decor is basic but don't let that put you off the staff are really friendly and the pizzas are delicious. Very reasonably priced especially close to the airport and then wine is really reasonable as well not like a lot of the other restaurants in the area.Great range of veggie options too! Thanks

This pizza and pasta restaurant has no pretentions - we weren't made particularly welcome when we entered, but we were seated and waited patiently for someone to take our order - doesn't take long to choose as the menu isn't extensive. We then waited even longer for the drinks to arrive, although the bar man was busy slurping his can at the bar! The tables don't boast tablecloths, and the lighting is not particularly relaxing. Its more like a takeaway that has a few tables to eat in. However, the food was quite good. Once we'd had a main course, no-one asked if we'd enjoyed it, the plates were cleared but no coffee or dessert offered. After a while we just asked for the bill. You felt they had missed an opportunity, as there is not a lot of competition around and a lot of guests in the hotels must be seeking an evening meal.

Horrific. Used to work upstairs from here and go 2 or 3 times / month. It was awesome. What a difference 7 years make. It's now awful. Manager & Chef openly arguing. It feels dirty, service is really bad. I ordered a beer, took 15 mins, when it arrived they decided to pour it into a glass, he was halfway through when he realised the glass wasn't clean. I watched him take it around the back of the counter, wipe the half full glass with a napkin then bring it back to me. The food was ok, nothing great. Sad to see it in such a state.

We came upon this pizza and pasta restaurant by chance. It looked a bit quiet inside, but that's other people's loss, as the people and food were lovely. We were welcomed like friends and not rushed to order. If we needed anything (sauces, etc.), the staff provided it. We all ordered different pizzas, we didn't have to wait long and the pizzas were huge and very tasty, just what we wanted after a day travelling. It's located just by the Park Inn by Radisson hotel and if you're staying there it's cheaper and nicer than the hotel food. When we paid, because their credit card machine had broken, we were asked to pay in the shop next door, which they also owned. They were very trusting, we could have run off and not paid, but given they treated us like old friends and looked after our every need, of course we paid. The food was very reasonable, depending on the type of pizzas we ordered, we paid between £8.95 and £9.95. I can't remember the pasta prices as none of us had them, but I'm sure they were also reasonably priced. A hidden gem of a restaurant, we worth a visit.

This is an unusual restaurant in that the Formica tables, very bright lighting and sparse walls give it a kind of a canteen feel. In some circumstances I might have walked out after getting my first impressions and sought somewhere else to eat but on this particular evening I was tired and hungry and could not face searching further afield. I'm glad I did because the service here was as good as I've ever experienced and the food was tasty and filling and most satisfying. The staff here are brilliant. They are very attentive, very polite and friendly and very professional. When our food arrived I noticed that the portion sizes were very generous and I was worried that the focus was on quantity over quality but I had no complaints at all about the quality of either of the two courses I ate. They were extremely tasty dishes. My main course was a seafood tagliatelle and if I was being picky I could point out that the only seafood it contained was prawns. However, there were LOTS of prawns in there and it really was a delicious dish and also very filling. I would advise anyone visiting here not to be put off by their first impressions and to give it a go. None of our party had a pizza but one of them is a regular here and he says their pizza is superb.

This restaurant has little in the way of decoration but no matter as the food was very good. My penne pasta was perfect, not too soft but al dente. The chicken red pasta sauce had lots of meat and some small veggies. Could have more veggies but no skimping on the chicken. Opt for better than the house wine as I found the white unexceptional. Okay for just drinking. Only ate there one night as we stayed around the corner at the Ibis Styles.

Firstly parking all taken up by private hire cars for London Heathrow who don't even respect disabled parking both slots being occupied for the 1 1/2hrs we were there .In fact the manager waiter chief barman was on very cosy terms with the drivers. When you look in there is nothing on the tables not even basic table settings -even Mc D s looks more welcoming.Formica tables and bamboo effect chairs from a different era do not help the initial impression. Food can only described as mediocre with the one cook turning out pizzas that look remarkably like each other and even a Florentine pizza had minimal spinach and a solid egg when raised with manager waiter barman "it's health and safety!!!"Salad hacked up lettuce with some tomato .The Balsamic dressing came from a .75 bottle of dubious origin with dried dressing staining the sides, the pourer was a cork with a notch cut into it .Where was the basic oil vinegar ?? The kicker at the end is a 10 percent service charge for nothing but 3rd rate service food and basic hospitality. Please send your cook to learn basic quality Italian food rather than what can be served up with the max profit.Even hot water to warm a babies food had to be brought in from the store next door. Basically AVOID

This place is an interesting experience. I want to love it but there's a lot of things that could be so much better, do the owners/managers care though? I struggle to call it a restaurant, it's more of a canteen. Formica tables, floor dirty, general grubbiness and sadly disinterested serving staff. I ordered pesto bruschetta which was not all that, cold bread... The starter came before our drinks order. Really?? As a main I had penne al forno which was pretty good. Was not offered any bread to accompany it though. Perhaps that's a london thing. I guess by virtue of this places location, the main clientele is guests of the local hotels. Like us! They seemed to be doing a roaring pizza takeaway business though....

We were staying at a nearby hotel the night before flying out from Heathrow, we didn't want to pay a fortune eating in a depressing hotel restaurant so decided to venture out to Il Basilico. I'd looked at the reviews on Trip Advisor and was slightly hesitant at first but we decided to give it a go and it was perfectly fine. It's not the Ritz obviously, but you aren't paying for that - what it does have is nice, comforting food and drink, at a reasonable price, which the night before going on an expensive holiday is just what we wanted. The food was tasty and portion size was good and it was nice to get out of the hotel for a short walk too so overall we were happy.

I found the staff to be attentive although not overly friendly. Ambience definitely isn't a precursor to great food but this place has absolutely none. I got the chefs special, "Pollo con Cipolle".. The portion was large and and the chicken flavorful and tender. I also ordered a pizza which was pretty greasy. I have to be fair and reveal that I was born and raised in NYC so my pizza standards are pretty high. They serve an extremely generous glass of house wine so that was a nice perk.It was a bit odd seeing Indians cooking Italian food but I guess that's the way the world is now! There isn't much around LHR so if you're in the mood for Italian this might not be a bad choice.. Yes, it seems to be understaffed ...mostly run by the somewhat impatient owner who would keep leaving the restaurant to go next door to the convenience store which also sold Indian food--he appeared to be of Indian origin. But when there's not much to eat around Heathrow, one must settle. I simply ordered spaghetti Bolognese nod a glass of water. The food was handed to me by the cook whom I noticed handling the pasta with his bare hands before he'd add a sauce and then heat it up. That old NEVER BE TOLERATED IN THE STATES!!! I waited about 10 minutes before the water finally came. It wasn't crowded by any means and I also waited for about 5 minutes before the water showed up...of course being asked if imitated a bottle of still or sparkling...England is not a 3rd world country. Tap water is fine. I had to wait longer to ask for Parmesan cheese to add some flavor to the sauce. Again, the cook handed me from behind the counter where he was working a bowl of cheese. I finished 1/2 the pasta and took the rest to go. Tomorrow, I shall go into central London for a proper meal as I'd never return to this place which really looked like it hadn't been cleaned for several months. I was afraid to see the restroom! Bring your hand sanitizer if your forced to go there.

Just around the corner on the Sipson Road is Il Basilico. The restaurant is very bright with minimal furniture but fantastic customer service. The menu represents EXCELLENT value for money as good Italian food goes and they even have Peroni! The kitchen is open plan with the chance to see the food prep for pizzas etc. We ordered starters and mains and the food was truly wonderful. Flavoursome, fresh and filling. Portion sizes are perhaps on the large side but you are well looked after by the host. There was also some great music playing from all genres of all eras. We just arrived at Heathrow Airport after touring Stonehenge and checking into the Sheraton Heathrow Airport. After doing a Goole search for Pizza, 5 minutes from our hotel we arrived to an empty restaurant with some apprehension, but we were pleasantly surprised. One advantage of a sparsely populated restaurant is that we were served very quickly, the Peroni La Birra had more "kick" than expected, and when we ordered the Capricciosa thin crusted Pizza, it arrived quickly, it was perfectly baked, and came with generous servings of the six toppings. Come here for Pizza, they have 30 of them, and it clearly appears to be their specialty.

It looks like a not very well kept cafe and when we walked in the waiter was telling another table that there's no chicken or steak left. This wasn't a problem for us but what's that all about? Anyway, I asked for a children's menu but they don't do children's meals and they don't sell squash for the children either. I asked for a glass of pinot grigio but was told they only sell chardonnay by the glass (it's supposed to be an italian) so I opted for water. My partner ordered a calzone which was so burnt on the bottom and around the edge that he could only eat the middle part. I ordered spaghetti marinara and it came swimming in sauce with thin quick cook pasta and every prawn had shells on, not one had been removed so I had to pick them from the hot sauce and remove them myself. There were even a few empty shells in there. We left most of the food but as we're good people still went to pay the bill. The restaurant said to just pay half but we paid nearly all of it. The point is we were looking forward to a nice Italian meal and were very disappointed.

This is an Italian restaurant dressed up like a greasy spoon! The food was fair to good, big portions but not terribly authentic, I suspect. With a few table cloths, candles, a clear, usable bar and a spring clean, it would be a welcoming, lovely spot. Being close to such an expensive hotel, it would clean up on the evening trade but it needs to sort itself out first. This restaurant isn't in West Drayton at all. It's the Heathrow Airport side of Sipson, near the Bath Road, so handy for a number of the airport hotels. We visited ona Saturday evening, and were a little surprised that it wasn't particularly busy. It's only open from 5.30 to 10, a bit restrictive. The general appearance is a little canteenish - not really an 'occasion' place, but the seats are comfortable and the food prices not at all expensive. Most pasta dishes and pizzas are under £10. The service could be better, for example, I wasn't told the prawn and avocado starter was off until I had ordered and they found they had no avocados. We had one pizza, a spaghetti bolognese and two spaghetti gamberettis, which were all very nice.We planning another visit sometime, so it must have been good overall!

Was unsure on entering this, now there is something what do you call it it looks like a cafe but it is so much more. The decor definitely need a some improvements, but I suggest you ignore that and just enjoy the food, It was sublime it was hot, tasty and fresh. I run my own event and wedding coordinating company and I would give this waitress a job tomorrow. I have been served in restaurants with more staff ratio to customers Thanks here, but I have never received such proficience service. Ok so she doaent have time to ask how your day has been or if you are iin town for pleasure or business, but this waitress is worth her weight in gold. on a down note I do not like this practice of adding a service charge. I always feel that a service charge or TIP is something we should give freely if we feel that the service has been worth it.. I think it puts a lot of people of giving a tip worthy of the service. Just serving good food does not warrant a service charge. It's what's expected good food good service. As it is we left a tip on top of service charge because your waitress deserved it. Really argued with myself over what rating to give. The decor, tables and chairs would be quite at home in a greasy spoon cafe, demanding an 'average' rating at best. The service is also average at best and not getting an itemised bill, means that you don't realise they have already added a tip onto the final amount! However, if this is about the food alone, then it deserve somewhere between very good and excellent. Pizza here is awesome. Not the best I've had but it's up there right behind the best.I've never ordered pasta, but I've had a taste of a friends dish and that is equally as good. Desserts are nothing to shout about so if you're really hungry, go for a starter instead. House wine is always good. So, not the place for a hot date, but very well worth a trip if it's good food you're interested in!

This place is in a little strip mall right across from the Park Inn Radisson where we were staying and we are very happy to have stumbled upon it while searching for a quick dinner. Pizza was outstanding- fresh toppings, classic Italian crust. Service was fast and pizza was reasonably priced given the area (close proximity to Heathrow).

I visit this italian a few times every month. The food is always great. A limited menu but excellent pasta and pizza. It looks like a cafe as you walk up and it's far too bright, certainly not a cozy romantic night out but the food is worth the visit if your local to the airport. I'll be back again in a few weeks.

I don't have much to add to other reviewers. Nicely cooked Italian food, good value (especially given the location)But for goodness sake get some more engaging waiting staff !

My husband & I visited here when we were staying at a large hotel round the corner. Rather than pay the expensive hotel restaurant prices in the hotel we decided to take a wander & found this after looking on Trip Advisor. The food was nice & the prices very reasonable- definitely worth a visit rather than being ripped off in the hotels!

I was quite fond of this meal. The other restaurants in the area are fairly "posh" and certainly overpriced for what they serve (due to Heathrow's proximity). This place wasn't objectively cheap, but was much more sensibly priced than it's neighbours. The pizza was authentically Italian in style and topping selection, though the quality was decidedly average.I agree that the service was poor, but, equally, they didn't take offence if you stood up and took what you needed from the bar.

4 minutes walk from Park Inn Hotel @ Heathrow. Café décor rather than restaurant set up. Limited of staffs. 1 single waitress who worked tirelessly and 2 chefs. Service is very slow and the waitress was trying her best. However, the food is AMAZING! It is strange to say but I will definitely come back and try other food in the menu. It is worth coming back for. Please be patience and don't set any expectation for service. If you see more than 7 tables occupy, either walk away or expect at least 1 hour and 30 minutes dinner time minimum.

Ate here on a weeknight while staying at nearby Park Inn. Just had drinks and a pizza. Food was average. Decor minimal. Staff appeared to consist of owner, pizza maker, busboy and one waitress, and the restaurant was fairly busy. The one waitress could not keep up, though she seemed to be busy continually, and we, along with another customer stood at the register waiting to pay the bill for about 10 minutes. People kept flitting by saying they'd be right there, and time kept passing. Even ran out of money in the register so owner took some cash out of his wallet for the register!

Whilst staying in the Heathrow Novotel recently, decided to find a new restaurant to try and found reference to this local Italian on google. Its able 25 minutes walk from the Novotel, so a nice pleasant stroll on a arm evening (amazed to pass a tree full of cockatoo's on the way !).My intial thoughts were mixed, in that the restaurant looks very basic, will basic fixtures and fittings. We were given a table near the kitchen, so as it was a warm night it was very hot in the restaurant, these were problably the only negative things I would say.The food itself was excellent, fantastic portions, and very tasty. Will definitely be paying this place a visit again. Was very surprised at the price, at £57 for two, with beers, this was the cheapest restaurant we ate in in the area out of the 8 days we spent in West Drayton.Highly recommended, try the chilli pesto oil, has a real kick !!

After a long flight we checked in to the Park Inn nearby and we're famished. We walked to Il Basilico for some comfort food. And boy were we pleased. With the food that is. We were ignored by the Eastern European waitress for at least 20 minutes until she finally brought us a menu. We ordered the mozzarella cheese bread and it was superb. Hot, fresh, and really flavorful. Then a pizza for the 2 of us to top it off. This would have been a perfect experience except for the waitress who had no desire to assist us and literally got through the entire dinner without speaking and single word to us. We were shocked, and thought we were on a hidden camera tv show. Only, we weren't and it wasn't a joke. We did like the food so we recommend it. Maybe the server was just having a bad day. A really bad day, so we'll cut her some slack.

Literally just opposite the Park Inn. Food was lovely, especially the pizza and garlic bread. Food and drinks prices reasonable. Definitely worth stepping outside the hotel for dinner. We'll eat there again if we stay here before an early morning flight.

Went to Il Brasilico with a friend on the strength of other reviews here. Restaurant looked closed from the outside! Once inside, the place smells horrible in a way that hits you the moment you walk in, Pizza and pasta alike were virtually tasteless and nowhere near the standard of chains such as Prezzo, Zizzi or ASK which this place makes out it competes with. My friend actually commented that her "diet coke was the best part of the meal"! Some dishes are over-priced too. They also add a compulsory 10% service charge onto the final bill - for what service, we're not sure as service was poor to say the least. The waiter even had to be reminded we had ordered drinks. To add final insult to injury, despite only being 2100, we were rushed out of the restaurant as if they were desperate for us to leave! There were only 2-3 other people eating there - it is any wonder why?! Please avoid this place.

Across the road from the Park Inn this small restaurant provided a quick, good value two course early evening supper. Fresh tuna salad to start, meaty pizza to follow, a couple of Peronis and all for a little over £20 Difficult to beat quality wise, or for price

We were staying at the park inn for a Lego land break. We checked out the hotel restaurant which looked nice but the menu is limited.I decided to drive into Windsor but upon leaving the car park we spotted this restaurant.Rather than driving into town we ate here. It is like a cafe inside, but the food is really good. There is only one waitress and service can be slow. locals were calling in for takeaway pizzas so always a good sign. Don't let the deco and the plastic menus put you off, the food is great.

The menu here could be more for the discerning diner, but it was more than enough for me.The food was excellent, value very good, but they could have done with more than one waitress working with the 'head waiter' barking orders to her every so often. Mushrooms were a good starter, but watch for the Chillies, very spicy. The pasta may not be something to write home about, but was tasty all the same.I would go back, but not on a cold day as decor a little sparse.

We love their "take away" pizzas. When staying near Heathrow, we always try to get "take away" pizzas from Il Basilico. The same chef has been there for many years and the quality has been consistent. While the surroundings are simple (located in a small "strip mall") the food is great. An economical way to have a good meal without the high expense of eating near Heathrow.

Staying near the airport waiting for a flight the next day the family went for a walk to find dinner and found Il Basilico around the corner from us. The thin crust pizza was very good. We tried the Vesuvio and the Stromboli and they were both excellent. The tortellini and the penne al tonno were also very good. The tuna in the penne made it delicious. The service was fast and the prices very reasonable. If you want to get out of the airport hotel and go for a good Italian meal get directions to this place !

Staff were quick to allocate us a table, though no cutlery. Took the order quickly, then tried to deliver the main course whilst we were still eating our main course! After finishing the main course they didn't come back to enquire about deserts/coffee.The house wine was £3.95 a glass and a Peroni was £3.50. So prices were as you would expect for London. Meal for 3 was £69, so not to bad, it includes a 10% complosury service charge.

Il Brasilico is a simple Italian kitchen ristorante in a car park behind a petrol station on Sipson road three stops on the free bus from Heathrow airport central bus station. The bus ( just ask) that takes you along the Bath Road to the Park Inn hotel stops right at the petrol station. On weekdays the kitchen serves from 06:00 to 22:30.It has a functional simple interior but the staff are excellent and the food exceeds what one would expect, both in price and quality for some where so close to the airport.I started with the Carciofini salad ( and if that is the size of the starter the main course version must be huge) followed by a really nice ( I like them spicy) Vesuvio pizza. Both were excellent. The cheapest large pizza is £6.45 and the most expensive £9.95. Pasta ranged from £6.95 to £ 8.95 and I saw guests sharing between two.Wine also was well priced.Well worth the visit if staying in one of the hotels off the Bath road or even during a stop over at the airport.Recommended.

I was on business in the vicinity and always look for Italian restaurants. So, I stumbled upon Il Basilico. The first thing I should say is that it looks like a 1970's cafeteria when you walk in....extremely stark and old fashioned...I nearly turned around and walked right back out but I was greeted nicely, so I stayed.I had a pizza and a salad. It was fine....nothing to write home about but acceptable. The service was good, the waitress was lovely. It was confusing because the guy I assume was the owner or manager was very nicely dressed and ordering his staff about effectively as if it were a more 'up-market' joint , but....I couldn't get over the really soul- less surroundings. Strange. At least it offers an alternative option to the local airport hotels which. let's face it, are probably not great.

The meal at Il Basilico was adequate but certainly not exceptional. Even kind comments have to be placed in the context of the restaurant's location, something of a gastronomic wilderness between nearby McDonald's and expensive hotel dining. A general description would be 'no frills', certainly no table cloths. The staff were attentive enough but one at least seemed prone to muttering; perhaps some kind of culinary Tourette's. The antipasti were unusual, combining several improbable items but featuring a pretty good, warm, dish of sauteed mushrooms with garlic and chilli. The main courses were OK. My partner seemed more enthusiastic about his spaghetti aglio e olio than I about my penne bolognese. The ragu could have been richer. A side salad was mundane and garlic bread remarkably combined scorched with chewy. Il Basilico then is much better than most of the local alternatives but not worth a journey you were not already making.

We are spending the night at the Radisson Blu Edwardian prior to an early morning flight tomorrow. Just back from having a meal at La Basilica , a 10 minute walk away. It doesn't look very enticing from the outside and to be honest, doesn't get much better once inside but the service was friendly and the food delicious. We had bruschetta and mozzarella garlic bread to start. Both obviously freshly cooked and very good. Followed by penne al pesto and a pizza generously topped with anchovies onions and olives. A large glass of house red and a coke and the bill came to £32 including service charge. We thought the food head and a shoulders above the Italian chain restaurants (Zizzi, Prezzo etc) it tasted freshly made, ingredients were good, portions were large and it was all piping hot. Would definitely recommend this restaurant if you want to avoid the excessive charges at the Heathrow hotels.

Called in prior to dropping of Family at Heathrow. Its most redeeming feature is that it’s close to the airport and has free parking. The service was poor there were 5 of us eating 4 meals came after a short delay one was fully 10 minutes later. The pizzas looked and tasted like they were frozen from a supermarket. As somebody else mentioned the food is cheap enough but the drinks are overpriced for what is more or less a café.

It is a bit canteenish looking and they could do a lot to warm the place up and make it look more welcoming, however, once inside the staff are lovely and make you feel really welcome and the food is excellent and extremely well priced. If staying at a Heathrow hotel, especially the Park Inn (its just over the road) go there for food and drinks as very good and much more reasonable that hotel prices.

A Pizza/Pasta Restaurant located close to the Park Inn, Heathrow Hotel and a slightly cheaper alternative, but take care! The external menu shows prices for a Pizza/Pasta of £8/9 but what is not mentioned is that the cheapest alcoholic drink is a small bottle of lager at £3.50 and a 10% service charge is automatically added to your bill, including drinks. The service was good and I would have left a tip but it spoils what was a good meal when they don't tell you in advance. The toppings on the pizzas could be more generous.
