This is a cozy little sushi bar tucked away in the back of a slightly dodgy looking building. The place is family run and the chef used to work at nobu and sushi samba - there are quite a few dishes I recognise from roka ( the yellowtail special sashimi , rock shrimp tempura and the miso cod) . We usually order too much as it’s all really delicious ( and prices very reasonable for the quality). Aside from the above, the teriyaki steak, Nasu dengaku and dragon rolls are also must tries Service is warm and friendly. Go!

I'm not often compelled to write reviews (this is only my second ever on TripAdvisor), but when I have felt this way it's usually for a particular reason. I've given Ichiro three stars not because it was bad (it wasn't terrible by any means, but it was not good either), but more so because that's what they deserve. The restaurant is not, as other reviews would have you believe, exceptional, exploding with authenticity or really much different from any other Japanese place on Deliveroo in Fulham. It's run-of-the-mill, with a few shortcomings. I will review each dish I had, but I must say, the setting is nice and the service was absolutely lovely - there is a gem here it just needs polishing. Special Yellowtail Sashimi: Maybe the most flavourful dish I had, but that's likely cause it was dressed with a fair amount of yuzu. The taste was good and the fish ate clean. The sashimi was plastic wrapped in a fridge, pre-sliced, dressed and then served. I would always prefer my sashimi to be fresh cut. Miso Soup: Standard, decent, satisfying cup of soup. What does it say that this was a highlight? Vegetable Tempura: Something was missing here. The fry on the vegetables was good and the texture of the batter was light and airy, but there was no flavour in the batter or the dipping sauce (soy was provided when I made the kitchen aware that it was underseasoned). Seasoning tempura pieces with togarashi as they come out of the oil is a quick, cheap and easy fix. Additionally, some of the veggies ate very greasily (aubergine and courgette) as they both will tend to absorb a lot of oil if fried from cold (which I assume they were). Lastly, the selection of veggies failed to include sweet potato, a staple of vegetable tempura, and something I figured they'd have since they've been able to source fresh wasabi. It's winter, there should have been some root vegetable, but the closest I got was a raw, yet fried, carrot. Nigiri: I ate two each of tuna, yellowtail and unagi (eel) nigiri pieces. Traditionally, sushi rice should be body temp (warm to the touch) and fish should be room temperature. Ichiro served me room temp rice and cold fish, so the nigiri eats very densely and sticky. Additionally, the rice-to-fish ratio is WAY off and altogether too large. Each piece of nigiri was 75/80g of rice and maybe 8/10g fish (should be closer to 60% rice, 40% fish). In general, the restaurant underserves protein (which is a huge disappointment to me and would be a reason not to return); the fish on my tuna nigiri was paper-thin. I'm sure this saves money but it's not what I wanted or expected. Fresh wasabi is a huge plus and a rarity at a restaurant in this price range in the West, and I'm very happy to see them use it. Part of me was expecting the chef to prepare my nigiri with wasabi underneath the fish as most good counters in Japan do (and the reviews led me to believe that was the experience I was in for) but alas, no. I would have happily paid the price of my nigiri with the amount of fish served if the quantity of rice was cut in half. California Maki Pretty standard California roll. They use canned crab meat as opposed to imitation which is nice but the crab was still watery from the can. The avocado on my roll was under-ripe as well and there was no cucumber for crunch. I hope this review doesn't sound too harsh. I'm mostly leaving it for the benefit of the kitchen, which I know can produce a vastly better result with a few small tweaks, and I am eager to return and try everything again after some changes have been made. There's nothing I'd love more than to have a truly stellar Japanese restaurant around the corner; here's hoping it gets there.

¡Altamente recomendado! !

I live locally and heard on the “grape vine” about how fantastic this tiny restaurant was! We visited last night and we were not disappointed. There is enough room for about 12/15 customers and it is a tight squeeze but this makes for a really friendly atmosphere. Our fellow customers were all complimenting the high quality sushi and authentic Japanese dishes, all prepared and cooked with perfect precision. We loved everything we ordered and I was happy that they serve a hot roasted rice tea that I have always brought home from Japan. The staff were charming and friendly and made sure everyone had a lovely meal, can’t wait to go back!

A bit difficult to find but really good. Everything was fresh to order and some of the beat Japanese food I’ve had on London. Definitely will be back.

I am ecstatic this is in such close location to me. It is one of the freshest, finest Japanese food around. The sashimi cuts never disappoint and I simply cannot stop ordering from a wide range of sushi rolls on offer. For my ‘super hungry’ days, the donburi never failed to fill me up—- definitely try the chiken teriyaki on rice. Fantastic place to satisfy your Japanese cravings :)

I had a good dinner with surprise and joy because there is authentic Japanese food here. It is not only sushi, but also tempura, ramen, udon and donburi. Surprisingly, there is also Japanese curry, all eaten in high quality and all delicious and the price is reasonable. If you look at the form of sushi that he makes, it is clear that the sushi chef has high skill. The cut rolls are all cut equally at the same height. The tempura are crispy outside and soft inside. I thought that I wonder if I was eating dinner in Japan. Similarly, Tonkotsu Ramen is not defeated by all the ramen restaurants in London. I will definitely return soon!

This was a surprise find - tucked into a tiny shopping arcade off the busy strip of North End Road. Even after years of living in the area I'd never ventured into the world of these little alleys. Ichiro is a quiet, authentic Japanese sushi bar with amazing service. My friend just happened to know about it as they'd been promoting themselves at his gym last weekend. The atmosphere is pleasantly relaxed, there were two people chatting at the bar and there is only space for a couple of tables. They told us they'd opened in December and so I am doing my bit to spread the news! We had the tuna special sashimi platter, miso aubergine, edamame, oolong tea, miso soup, rock shrimp tempura (which was recommended to us and didn't disappoint), and some mochi for dessert. Everything was incredibly good value and the food arrived quickly. They only took cash payments but hopefully they will take cards soon. Having lived in Japan, my standards are pretty high and as the review title suggests, I can see myself going back! And taking some pictures of the food as it was so good :-)

We went expecting a conveyer belt experience (kids like it) and were very disappointed with the lack of it in Yo kitchen. This was the reason we travelled to Yo. We have some nice sushi places locally and the adults generally prefer those venues. Anyway it was a treat for the kids.... So whilst we got over it quickly, we discovered that the menu was pared down and very pricey. £6+ for the gyoza and £8+ for four pieces of maki. The gyoza were much better than those at Yo - these were pan fried and with a beautiful sauce. However, there wasn't really a choice of good sushi (about 5 options). The salmon maki was made with cream cheese. It was all a bit westernised/fusion... So we didn't order any. Kids menu was good value and plentiful. Kids enjoyed it. The food we chose was good, bit I don't think we'll be returning. I'd rather go to a proper sushi house or a better Japanese restaurant. I'd rather have eaten at ITSU.
