iCHiNA Hotpot in Glasgow City

AVOID! SCAMMERS! SCAM lots of students money by exchange currency! police at the shop for investigation! disgusting!!!

Was going to go here tonight to unexpectedly find them SHUT DOWN?! No social media to even warn customers?! Literally so disappointed!

It’s just food- nothing special. But only thing I want to complained is that their credit card machine is “out of service” and required bank transfer or cash. ( a way to avoid paying tax) If I’ve known this before hand I would have gone somewhere else.

Amazing selection of hotpot ingredients, love the buffet style that allows you to pick up whatever you want yourself! This is rare nowadays at buffet hotpot which normally brings your order to table - but getting your own food feels so much more satisfying! Especially LOVED the complimentary crispy pork (which you put into spicy hotpot as a regional specialty!!) - its a treat on its own!! The ambiance was lovely as well - the place smells amazing and as soon as I stepped inside I knew it will be a great hotpot spot. And of course, the service is immaculate and very efficient. Overall my favorite hotpot place in Glasgow so far - especially for the price (£23.5 or £26.5 including unlimited homemade drinks). Highly recommend!!

absolutely horrendous service, one waiter in particular was extremely rude to me and my boyfriend for being new to hotpot and not being able to understand him properly as he was speaking quietly and with an accent and just overall a horrible service, also i may add the food is not good for the price. felt as though we were being stared at and talked about by staff. very intimating experience did not feel welcome at all. there was also plastic in the hot pot broth and all they said was don’t eat it? do not go here complete waste of money. ruined my boyfriends birthday with the horrible service and uneasy atmosphere. (also charged us two pounds each extra for tap water)

I had a very nice meal here with my friend. It was both of our first time trying hot pot and it was delicious. The staff were very friendly and explained to us how to cook everything in the broth. They had a nice selection and with it being self serve, you could take as little or as much as you want. I have seen some reviews on google where other people have said they did not feel welcome eating here because they were not chinese. I don’t think that is the case, the staff just ask you if you are sure you want the hot pot so you know you are getting a traditional dish you have to cook yourself, rather than a westernised chinese meal like at most restaurants in the area. The staff were very friendly to us, explained to us how everything worked and all spoke very good English. Everything was labelled in English as well as Mandarin. I would recommend this place to anyone looking to try an authentic Chinese hot pot dish :) Thanks again to all the kind staff for their help and expertise. We had a lot of fun and the food was delicious!

Really tasty! Beef broth was so complex and lovely. Really helpful staff who were happy to talk us through what to do and offered extras throughout the meal

Loved it, great selection of meat, veg, seafood and carbs available from self serve counter. Hotpot broths were best I've tried in Glasgow, great beef flavour. Definitely worth a shot if ur into hotpot. Staff were super helpful as well.

Had lunch meal and it felt like large portion and came with drink. Food tasted good and quite authentic. If you like 'real' Chinese food, you'd probably like it. Maybe not very easy experience for non-Chinese people though

I had a fantastic meal here on Saturday evening with my family. The restaurant has a modern look and the service is fast and friendly. Im not chinese however I felt welcomed and enjoyed the self service range of veggies, in addition you can order a great range of shellfish and meats for the table hotpot (all the food items are labelled at the self service stations). You can have unlimited soft drinks, bubble tea and fresh fruits for desert as part of the cost per head. The waiting staff were very helpful when i had questions and speak an excellent level of English. In addition my little girl enjoyed the independence of the self service drinks, fruits and deserts. Will definitely be back high quality food and fun dinning experience.

Quite possibly the best hotpot I've ever had, if Carlsberg done hotpot.... Anyways my family and my folks really loved it. Everything is ultra fresh and the soups are bursting with flavour. Yes, this place operates at 100mph and is very busy, staff are bustling about a stream clearing plates from tables. If you have experienced the madness of Asia then you will feel right at home, it's quite simply an amazing experience. Regarding previous reviews, I can understand the perspective from a Western POV the comments left. My wife is Irish/English and she felt right at home and at no point did she unwelcome. Go on gie it a bash 😉

People were lovely, veggie options were minimal, little instructions in English. There was no prices on the menu, which left us misled. The price for what you get is shocking. We paid £107 for 4 people for lunch, when realistically we ate, not even £30 worth between us. So wouldn’t return due to price.

iCHINA is one of the best traditional chinese HOT POT restaurants in Scotland so far. food is decent, price ok but massive fresh food to pick up . ICHINA always seems to get really busy, the service is very efficient and the staff are friendly & chatty, especially manager Mr Yang a handsome guy ! next time we are in Glasgow we will definitely visit again it's a very popular place with delicious HOT POT food & lots of choice. Only down side no alcohol,you need bring your own !

It was recommended on TikTok. £30 pp. A new restaurant with cute Hello Kitty interior. Unfortunately, I didn’t feel welcome since I walked through the door. Kept insisting it was a traditional Chinese restaurant, unlike the majority in the UK. Then seemed hesitant to seat us. Even my boyfriend was taken back. The staff asked if my boyfriend spoke Chinese and only spoke to him from then on. Never happened before, I’ve been eating hotpot for years. 我不会说火锅是”traditional dish”… It’s just boiled meat and vegetables!

I love their Sichuan style spicy broth, very authentic (spicy alert!!!!) The green vegetable is the expensive ones that other hotpot places would find the cost too high to serve (i.e. Tang Hao). The cold dishes (Chinese appetiser) are of good quality too! The most attractive thing is - you can have unlimited cans of soft drink and self-made bubble tea there! ALL-IN-ONE hotpot, I love it~

PLEASE AVOID. Total waste of £60. Unless you’re fluent or Chinese, I wouldn’t recommend. There’s no menu in English, it’s not accessible to non native speakers. The bubble tea is hot, not iced and the boba are undercooked. They didn’t even have a bubble tea straw and use a cappuccino straw where you dig out the boba. The broth was bland and the mixing station was not user friendly. Not labelled. The veg is swimming in water which can carry bacteria. The meats are not hygienic. Honestly kept getting stared at and multiple people came over to have a stare and gossip about us as they stood at the mixing station. It’s just very intimidating and strange. I guess the unlimited cans are good but not £60 good. Just go to Jays grill bar instead.

Found from TikTok…horrific experience. Lack of guidance since everything is unlabelled or in Chinese. Despite lots of hotpot experience, I was lost. Hotpot broths were not flavourful. Communication was very poor and the customer service was bad. The interior is blinding and headache inducing. Seems like it’s a front. 5* Reviews seem fake. Feel like I’ve wasted my money! Please avoid unless you want to waste money in a cost of living crisis and be treated badly.

Very friendly welcome. Food was sensational if you’ve never tried this experience I’d recommend you get along. 10/10

It feels quite authentic! worth a try! All the staff are very nice and kind, and the ingredients are quite fresh, especially the hot pot base is guaranteed to be fresh every time. Very peace of mind! ! ! And it tastes really good! ! !

Authentic Sichuan-Chongqing hotpot, providing various choices of vegetable and hotpot food. Buffet style, highly recommend their bubble tea and bubble tea toppings. Reasonable price and excellent service.

Tried this restaurant for dinner. Brilliant location, close to Queen Street Station. They got a rich selection of vegetables and meats for Hotpot. Very lovely and clean environment. Our food was served very quick and the hotpot soup was topped up quite frequently. Definitely recommend to try if you're ever in Glasgow!

在寒冷的冬天，可以在异国他乡与朋友一起吃到正宗的家乡火锅，感觉特别温暖；通货膨胀的今天，有无限加料的九宫锅(重庆、成都)、鸳鸯锅，食物也很新鲜，朋友都说不错，还会再去，谢谢哦~
