ok chinese that also does Japanese. menu not that vast as a chinese . food is OK. soup was bland and not a lot of flavour main meal ok Singapore noddles and sweet and sour pork Hong Kong style

Xmas Eve, thought I’d try again after a poor meal, should have stayed away! Chicken in black bean sauce and chicken fried rice, chicken in black bean sauce was raw, gristly, horrible texture and disgusting… there won’t be a 3rd visit, avoid this terrible quality, high price shambles of a takeaway that used to be good. Oh, and I had what I believe was caused by this meal, food poisoning over Xmas. Thanks

Went to this sham of a place last night as we have been regularly ordering recently with no issues before. Sent my little brother in with £50.00 cash only for him to be sent out with 10p. The lady on the phone initially said the price would be £42.00, my mum called her back up and when asked what the price was again she said another price of £39.50 which still doesn’t add up with the cash she gave back to us. She then said she would cash the till after 30 minutes still no call back. She didn’t want to even engage on the phone, talking over us, just RUDE!! Basically they’ve robbed us £8 and because it’s all cash they’re claiming we gave them £40. Poor poor communication skills. Food was as basic as it comes, kids running the shop - will not be going back!

A regular at this takeaway for years but will not be returning due to the manners of the staff. Returned home after collecting a takeaway and noticed we were a meal missing. We called and understood there may be Confusion over the meal but a member of staff became very rude very quickly blaming us for the error. We were absolutely not rude and when we tried to understand where the error was made the Manager became just as rude and even hung up on me. not a good way to run a business. Would not recommend at all of this is the attitude over the cost of a chicken fried rice!

Bought a takeaway here while on holiday in the area. Couldn't fault it, the food was excellent and cheaper than most places.

We've been having Chinese from here for a couple of years and it's always been lovely. Tonight we have spent just over £50 and every single dish was awful! Egg fried rice was sticky , chilli chicken was tough, sweet and sour chicken balls were damp and chicken undercooked. Never again will we be ordering from here. Shame as it's our closest.

Bento boxes are reasonable, but ordered large spring roll and king prawn udon, really not good 😔

Under New Management: The food has improved immensely there is now flavor! Before (under the name Happy Garden) everything tasted the same...of nothing. Now they have a better menu, the bento boxes are a fantastic meal. I also strongly recommend the sweet and sour. Before we used to have to go to martock for a decent chinese take away, now we finally have one closer!.

Only Chinese in Lamport, and its not the best always question the hygiene, plus they don't take card why? Would never go back after trying this even if I was starving. Run by kids out front. I really know your menu if your serving people

Really disappointing meal. Beef dish was tasteless. Supposed to be ginger but no evidence of any. Beef was so tough it was inedible and not sure it was even beef. Egg fried rice had one tiny scrap of egg in and was also tasteless. Chicken and cashew - tasteless. Only 5 cashews in whole dish and chicken was rubbery and unpleasant. Won’t be ordering g here ever again! Real pain as well that it’s cash only.

Just had a Sweet and Sour Chicken Cantonese Style with Egg Fried Rice and it was absolutely delicious! I'm stuffed! 😋😋😋

Just had a chicken Curry! Apperently it does say on menue that the rice is Japanese cooked rice, very clogged and inedible( I didn't see it) I do not recommend purchasing this if you are expecting a tasty Chinese curry. In my opinion very poor. Chicken was large chunks of processed chicken, raw onions and a few! slices of carrot. I am aware this is not their culture food andwe ordered from here and not the 5* Indian opposite. Just for info if ordering.

Chinese menu choices are now somewhat limited because of the addition of Japanese cuisine. The quality of food has remained high and the new Japanese additions are brilliant; definitely worth trying. I'd prefer a thicker, richer sweet & sour sauce personally, as well as pork balls over chicken, and more duck options.

Lovely foods, as always. I tried veggie chilli Bento box meal, and it was delicious! There were five different foods inside the box. Definitely worth the money.

Phoned up and ordered with them, turned up at the time they said and then waited for over 30 mins for my order. The food simply never got made I guess but instead of telling me that they just said nothing while I waited, I am fairly understanding so if someone had just told me we are really sorry it’s going to be x amount of time I could have gone and made use of my time but when it had been 35 mins I simply couldn’t wait any longer and had to go so I asked for my money back and left. I can’t recommend going here as it seems like a gamble if they are even going to make your order. Honestly very poor experience and a massive waste of my time.

Oh my the Japanese dishes are great here. Worth the drive from Shepton. The satay sauce is the best I've ever had. No gloopy sauce or greasy food. Just amazing flavours and a super happy service .

Well ,What can i say about these new chefs... 5 stars all the way.. If you haven't tried the Pumpkin and Broccoli karok then you need too... Great food ,great portions and some of the best we have ever had.... We love the food and staff always very happy and friendly...

The only place anywhere round here that does a bento box. No miso or pickled daikon but good rice, gyoza and beef teriyaki.

Special curry was very salty and my partner found a hair in her rice

A very nice variety of Chinese and Japanese dishes. I found the portions to be generous for the price and being an American, I’m used to large portions :) Those I’m visiting have assured me that the food is much better than the previous establishment at this location so if you had a less than pleasant experience in the past, you might want to give them a fresh chance.

Wrong order twice no apology awful service

Just collected a King Prawn Curry from Ichi Tong and was very very disappointed. The curry sauce was very watery and the egg fried rice very stodgy. I definitely won't be going back. I advise anyone else to do the same. Avoid if you have any sense!!!!

April 2021 and this place is now under new management (Thank Heavens!) and called Ichi Tong. The Chinese food is much better, on a par with the kind of food you would get from a good Chinese takeaway in a big city.

Omg this was terrible , beef was under cooked , chicken was smelly and soaky , rice was hard and cold . This last time we eat here . Loads left over as the whole family was unable to eat it. Do not recommend at all .

We had sweet and sour pork Hong Kong style. The batter was soggy and flavourless. The chicken in cashew nut was also flavourless very dissapointed was looking forward to it.

A well priced Chinese takeaway with a comprehensive menu and plentiful servings. The meals for more than one person are of particular note and the meals for 2 options are excellent value. Polite staff serving, and a limited waiting time, makes this a recommended fast food business.

Food is good, reasonably priced and big portions. Wait times are about usual, slightly wider range of stuff than some Chinese places. Egg fried rice is always nice and fluffy not too sticky.

Doe Sam and his wife stlll run this business? The young Chinese man sooo looks like him.. must be his son. I ask because when I was a kid, they invited us around and we did barbeques with the family :) Chicken dipped in honey and barbequed :):) I hope everyone is well xx

Ordered the 2 people menu, was disgusting. I love rice, i love chicken, i love mushrooms, but that mix was awful. They also don't take cards, it was a disappointment. To be tried again.

Polite, fast service of reliably tasty, good quality, genuine Chinese cuisine. All the Chow Mein dishes are superb, the Singapore fried Rice excellent and the Crispy Chicken is wonderful !

had special fried rice with sauce and a portion of bean sprouts....didnt enjoy it at all there was far too much garlic in it, slices and great big chunks, yuk..

The sweet n sour prawn balls were like scones! very doughy, very thick, just awful!

Ordered food, told it would be 25 minutes. It took 1 hour and 25 minutes and was cold an unedible. No discount or apology offer end. Awful service.
