Icestone Desserts - Ilford in Redbridge

I traveled to Ilford lane to visit your dessert restaurant and its was closed at 10pm on a Sunday, it was mentioned on Google it closes at 11pm. Either correct your closing times mentioned on Google or mention something on your Instagram page. I checked your insta page and anything was mentioned about the branch being closed. It's a shame with such mismanagement it'll drive potential customers to other dessert places and you'll lose business to your many competitors near by.

Expensive but desserts good quality. however when asked for tap water refused! Shame on you ! Especially on the hottest day of the year!

Sorry to say but this was the worst waffles I have ever had. I did take away n the waffles were dry and I had to put my own Nutella at home because there literally was 3 lines of chocolate sauce.

Not as good as urban chocolatier which is only 5 mins away. Portions are so small for the price and desserts taste average. Ordered an ice cream scoop and got 3 bites out of it. There’s better dessert parlours very close by that are much better. Save ur money xxxx

Aesthetically Pleasing Restaurant with Room for Improvement I recently visited this aesthetically appealing establishment with a friendly staff and clean presentation. While the overall experience was satisfactory, the quality of their gelato left much to be desired. Regrettably, I fell ill with a stomach bug after consuming their gelato milkshake. Although the strawberry cheesecake was enjoyable, the excessive amount of sauce surrounding it dampened the experience, despite the visually appealing cream presentation. Upon entering you get immediately drawn to its charming ambiance and pleasing decor. The staff members were friendly and has a welcoming atmosphere. The cleanliness of the restaurant was commendable, further enhancing the positive first impression. However, the disappointing aspect of my visit was the gelato. Opting for a gelato milkshake, I had high hopes for a refreshing and indulgent treat. Unfortunately, my experience was marred by an unpleasant outcome, as I fell ill with a stomach bug afterward. While it is difficult to attribute the illness solely to the gelato, its timing and my subsequent recovery suggest a possible correlation. Moving on to the strawberry cheesecake, the taste was enjoyable, and the overall presentation was appealing. However, the excessive amount of sauce surrounding the cheesecake overwhelmed the delicate flavors of the dessert. The sauce's overpowering presence detracted from the enjoyment, and it felt like a missed opportunity to showcase the quality of the cheesecake itself. On a positive note, the cream was nicely presented, adding a touch of elegance to the dessert. Despite the shortcomings regarding the gelato and the excessive sauce, it is important to acknowledge the restaurant's positive aspects. The staff's friendly and accommodating nature created a pleasant dining experience, and the cleanliness of the establishment further elevated the overall impression. Additionally, the strawberry cheesecake, while flawed, possessed enjoyable flavors. However, improvements are needed in terms of their gelato quality and the balance of flavors in their strawberry cheesecake. I hope that the restaurant takes these suggestions into consideration to enhance their culinary offerings and provide a more memorable dining experience. Please note that this review is based on my personal experience, and others may have different opinions.

First impressions lovely place however the staff didn't seem bothered. Ordered a falooda and was given a tiny spoon to eat it with. Overall could have been much better.

I’ve been to this place a few times to make a fair judgement. The desserts are average and the staff in there are incredibly rude,especially the girls. They have some serious attitude. I’ve read through the comments on social media and it seems pretty common. Feel free to try it if you fancy rude service.

This place is a a joke. Twice in the space of 10 days we’ve been turned away. States they close at 11pm, but both times we’ve been turned away at 10:15pm claiming takeaway only, the lady just walked away. Waste of time place, with staff with no customer service skills.

They did not have vegan option because “it will go bad quickly” also not very welcoming lady was very moody, will definitely be coming again.

I’m only giving this place one star and that’s for the aesthetically pleasing decor .we ordered coconut sponge cake with custard as the sample on display looked really nice but when she bought it out it looked nothing like the sample . Tasted ok tho .The Oreo milkshake tasted of no Oreo’s just plain cold milk . The knickeblocker glory was really disappointing as the ice cream had little taste of vanilla and only a few strawberries and was topped off with a mountain size of cheap whipped cream . The cookie dough was very flat and dry and not enough strawberries on it . 10 out of 10 for the deco. But for a tasty dessert il stick to heavenly and urban chocolatier oh and before I forget the girl serving us looked bored and irritated and also they offer no tap water .

DO NOT RECOMMEND Food was a let down despite the service being nice. Honestly speaking, don’t assume the food will be good just because the interior looks good. The cookie dough was burnt when it usually should be a soft dessert (hence the name cookie *dough*) I couldn’t even finish it unfortunately. The waffle was alright but we definitely had better, And the milkshake tasted poor, as if it was just chocolate powder and milk and that’s it. Overall disappointing for what we paid.

Dessert was decent, however messed up my Mocktails and gave me completely the wrong drinks!

Service was quite slow as it was busy but they gave us a free waffle on the house and the staff were kind and understanding despite under pressure from being busy. Waffles are well cooked to perfection and the banoffee cookie dough was ok but the size was small compared to others . Well done to the evening staff on the 22-04-23

Went their and left before even getting to taste, sat there for 10min waiting for someone to take my order. When asked the waitress to take order she pretended that she didn’t listen and it wasn’t even busy.

Great ambience, great environment, great interior design, welcoming, great food and great customer service. I really enjoyed the bubble gum sundae delivered by Yoruba and the waitress in the till. Amazing, defo better than Urban Chocolatier

The major thing I didn’t like about this place was the staff. I feel like they think they’re above you and have a major attitude problem. All I asked was for a sample of their red velvet ice cream and red bull sorbet, but was denied because they do not allow customers to try samples, which is weird especially for a dessert place that offers ice cream. I ended up buying a scoop of red velvet ice cream and it was nasty. I don’t even know how to explain the taste. It was just weird. I don’t think they know red velvet is literally chocolate cake with frosting. For better service please provide samples so we know what we’re paying for. And please re-train staff to be polite and patient. The server seemed so impatient when I was just asking about a few of the desserts and ice creams. Rolling his eyes and seemed to have no knowledge of what certain desserts contained. I actually wanted to sit and eat with my husband but the service literally put me off but I didn’t want to leave empty handed. Which is why I bought the red velvet ice cream. Glad I did, so I know for sure I won’t be visiting this place again.

worst desert shop ive ever been to with terrible service. If i could id give it less than 1 star. Ice cream was horrible, not sure how you could go wrong with basic flavours. Cookie dough was disgusting and the milkshake. Service was even worse and they did not care about customers and was not interested. They were just rushing for no reason or just standing talking. Completely useless waste of time and money would not recommend or eat there again. It’s literally just nice interior but they need to realise customers wont come back just for nice interior. The food should be nice otherwise we will walk away. Plenty of options in ilford for one to have to face icestone trauma lol

Lovely desserts and interior. Ordered the Nutella and strawberry cookie dough, I recommend it! A special mention to the staff member called Said, great customer service and very polite and helpful. Ice stone should be very proud to have someone like him. I will be back.

Alhumdulilah best waffle I’ve EVER had. It was so so soft and fluffy and had just the right amount of chocolate. Not heavy at all and their prices are so good. Don’t get me started on the even better ice cream. I would give 12/10 if I could.

Beautiful interior, clean and welcoming. The seats were comfy, the desserts were delicious especially the apple pie 😋.

Giving 2 ⭐️ coz of strawberry drink .. and crepe but the pistachio flooda was full of ice can’t even taste the flavour besides the pancakes wasn’t even that good.. too much sweet…..

Whoever is going there please check the bill after order, they charge extra £16 which is like robbery!! Not everyone will notice this and they are taking advantage of this. Their card machine is manipulated some how. So be careful when you are going there. When we asked, the manager said it was by mistake 😂😂 how is that possible? We were lucky we checked the bill. That was the first time and last time for us going there!!! So be careful when you're paying......

Staff seemed a bit rude and seemed like she didn’t care plus the desserts were too sweet. Wouldn’t go back and the staff member should really smile more

Went with family, lovely and modern decor, very inviting. Ordered the Oreo milkshake, brownies, sticky toffee and jam coconut sponge, all were really delicious and huge portions, lovely and polite staff, service was quick and efficient, will be going again.

Really nice sit in experience, place looks well posh. Service was great, asian girl with headscarf was pleasant, counter staff were attentive. Prices are decent. Milkcake did flatten and definitely wasn't the best I've tried but the gelato is top quality. They need to offer chai. Will come again.

I recently went to icestone Deserts and already fell in love with the interior. It was spectacular, we then sat down and ordered our dessert. The desert smelt delightful and tasted amazing, the desert looks exactly like the pictures. This alooring place surely deserves a 5 star!⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Had the kinder bueno milk cake it was delicious and fresh and lotus biscoff milkshake and Falooda with my friends it’s delicious I recommend 100% the customer service is amazing the staff are kind and welcoming

Great selection of desserts. Decor was really nice. This is perfect for a special occasion. Price wise, i would say it is more affordable than other dessert options on ilford lane. When we came they had a great buy one get one free cake offer. The best part was the customer service! Laura was super nice and welcoming. I think this will be my new go to place for desserts with the whole family. Thank you again.

Always love coming here. The staff are so warm and welcoming. The decor is on point, very instagrammable! But the reason we are regulars is because of the amazing dessert. I've tried the waffles, crepes and jam coconut sponge and they have been 10/10. The hot chocolate is great too. Defo recommend.

I had premium service at this dessert parlour. I would like to say A big thank you to employees saidu, yoro and ruqayya. They did a lovely birthday experience for my little sister. Quality desserts and lovely people. I will definitely be visiting again with my family and this will be our to-go! Absolutely amazing experience. Just another aesthetically appealing place. Cookie dough was like a melted cookie on flat plate. Ordered a biscoff cookie dough, instead of with white chip cookie dough they gave milk cookie dough. Service was good. But will not return. Cookie dough lacked byttery flaver and sweetness. Dissapointed

Decor good. Service good. Sticky toffee pudding was not good tasted like shop bought stuff. Milk cake had zero flavour. Ordered the bueno. They put fake bueno on top of it probably Aldi version. The milk it self was like water. They own mii chai but the milk cake is cheaper and better next door. Won’t be coming back

What a beautiful place with modern styling of the shop! The deserts were decent for the price.

Disappointed with waffle as it had a weird taste and texture was more like a sponge cake than an actual waffle… However, after eating half of it the Branch Manager did decide to give a cheesecake in return which was very kind and the only reason I rated it a 3 instead of a 1.

Very nice atmosphere, music fun and not too loud, comfortable seating with beautiful pastel decor. Standard gelato Coconut jam sponge with custard was very nice Cookie dough thin and small and quite basic compared to others Standard waffle with nice presentation but nutella had been applied sparingly No tap water sadly

The building itself is well designed and the setting looks amazing. The staff were also very nice and served quote quickly. For the price of the desserts, however, I was expecting premium quality but they were pretty average. Millions did not taste good in the bubbilicious, they are too hard to be in ice cream something softer like skittles would have been better.

Really enjoyed the school pudding, very happy with customer service. The staff were very accommodating and kind, definitely recommend and will be coming back.

Amazing dessert place, great modern interior, good hosting/service and most importantly desserts hit the spot!

The service was great, the staff were on point. Five people attended with me, we were sat down with the menu. The decorations are another level, not been to another dessert shop like this in East London. We really enjoyed the waffles with great toppings, thanks for the complimentary on the house ice cream. We will visit again soon.

When I went ice stone for the first time I tried there luxury donuts with 4 different flavours and 2 milkshakes. There donuts was very delicious. So I went again for the 2nd time for there donuts, I had a very good experience with one of the staff named Yoro. He was so welcoming and energetic.

We ordered 2 strawberries gelato waffles and chocolate its really tasty and so soft to eat flavour was so nice really nice presentation.we really enjoy these desserts so tasty 👌👍

I asked for a Nutella Waffle with Strawberries and they gave a waffle that tastes like Madeira Cake with a hardly any chocolate sauce on top (not even Nutella) and pale strawberries. Tastes absolutely rank! I paid a total of £11!!! Ripping people off i had to force myself to eat it because i spent so much on it.

Very happy with the treatment of the staff and the boy who has attended me called Sidu, very kind and friendly, the place is very elegant and beautiful, I will definitely return one of these days.!

Sorry but it’s a NO for us. We walked in with our kids and expected a little welcome with smile but staff member just pointed us to the table. She then put the menu on the table and told us to quote the table number. She seems to be in rush even shop was almost empty. We decided to do take away instead. My child asked for cookie and dough ice cream. He then asked for sauce when staff was giving him ice cream. Staff member said can you tell me when you are ordering and I said he is only 6 years old as children at the age do change their mind quickly. I said I will pay for the difference. Anyhow we bought 3 ice creams and none of them taste nice. No taste no customer service. Wouldn’t recommend this place !

Came on a Saturday night, it’s a big dessert place, was fully packed. Decor is modern, fresh, and welcoming. Staff were friendly and welcoming. We bought a selection of desserts, should’ve tried the waffles a little sad I didn’t as they were freshly made as were the crepes, which were delicious and well made. The cheesecake lovers enjoyed the Ferrero Rocher flavoured one. The biscoff milk cake was light and yummy. The warm brownies with ice cream was my favourite. I’m not really a dessert person but I did enjoy the desserts here. What I found unique with this place was that they offered vegan options. In my experience this is not a common find.

Bubblegum cake and chocolate gelato is soo yummy and the cake has sprinkles in it and I never had it before

First time visiting this amazing desert place. It is one of the best designed interiors with comfy sitting arrangemtns in London. The staff is very welcoming with pretty smiles one their faces. The menue is vast with something delicios for every one. I am highly recommending this place to every one either with friends or family. Please do go enjoy and treat yourselves. I must mention one of their staff called Laura who is amazing and provided the best customer service 👍

The desserts were alright, I have had better! I ordered the donuts and it felt like it was Tesco donuts with some chocolate drizzled on top! Pancakes were very basic too! The place looks nice but too bright for a dessert place! Also, the waiters need to just relax, they keep coming to you every 5 minutes to ask, 'Can I take your plates?' Well are there no plates left in the kitchen or something, I really couldn't enjoy my dessert!

I had high exceptions due to beautiful decor however was left very disappointed. I received my cookie dough a long time after my sister had completely finished her food. It was served very burnt and I couldn’t get staff attention therefore I had to personally take my food up to show it burnt and get it remade. But the cookie did taste nice after the remake ,but my time was wasted.

Very nice interior, clean and bright, lovely and prompt customer service. We had a pistachio falooda, strawberry cheesecake ice-cream and brownie with ice-cream. Loved it! However, I felt the size of their scoop was on the smallish side or maybe it's just us usually eating big portions😄🤷🏻‍♀️. Would definitely visit again.

If I could give this place minus stars I would. Waited half hour for gelato and brownie only to be left disappointed. They got the order wrong and no sincere apology or way to compensate. The brownie was extremely bitter with a horrible after taste, even Betty Crocker would do a better job! The Nutella gelato was the most horrible thing I’ve had the displeasure of tasting. The best thing about this place was the bottle of ice cold water. Do not visit this place!

Very small portions with use of artificial sweeteners. A lot of money for a three scoops of ice-cream. Waste of money. Would not recommend.
