Wah Bey in Ilford is a real treat! From the moment I walked in, the service was top-notch – attentive and friendly. But the real stars of the show were the dishes. The butter chicken was rich and creamy, the lamb chops were perfectly grilled and succulent, and the lamb shank was fall-off-the-bone tender and packed with flavour. Every dish was incredibly tasty. I'd highly recommend Wah Bey to anyone looking for a delicious and satisfying meal in Ilford.

Hi Asif I went last night with my family and was a brilliant experience and very nice food especially services was awesome and I recommended everybody to go there enjoy the food and they got car park facilities at the back as well so best thing good luck.

A very cosy setup, delicious food, and professional customer service. There is also a dedicated prayer room downstairs, which is very rare at restaurants. It makes it very convenient for people who are conscious of not missing their prayers whilst dining out with friends and family.

Last year was amazing service and this year I recommend my family again 40 people was booking we get our food after 3 h very bad customer service and platter was missing item and I only i get 10%off I do not recommend this restaurant complete waste of time and money 😔

After ordering, we had to wait almost 3 hours as a family of 6.Despite telling them that we are still waiting , they made us wait. Didn't even send the full platter we had ordered. We left however was bought back in by member of staff to eat and he apologised for the delay however they still charged full price, the audacity!

After booking for 40 people in advance we came in at the specified time and waited 3 hours for food l, then frustrated we left and was then bought back in by staff as they apologised and pleaded we don't leave and go back however they still charged full Price after all the wait and my kids not wanting to eat. Anymore although we ordered a platter for 6 people my kids didn't want to eat anymore by then as it was almost midnight and we were suppose to have eaten with family members, ended up eating alone.

There's a reason I've been back numerous times. Food, drinks and service are always impeccable. Highly recommended!

We booked Wah Bey for iftaar and were told when pre-booking that we could place our food order in advance so it would be ready on time. Since we were running a bit late, this seemed perfect. But when I called to give our order, I was told that wasn’t possible and was reassured that they’d have dates, water, and pakoras ready for us to open our fast. There were nine of us fasting, and when we arrived, the staff were friendly (though it was just one person was serving everyone). But we never got the pakoras or dates, and the water they gave us was charged at £2-£3 a bottle. The samosa chaat was really good but the main platter itself wasn’t great. Some of it was undercooked, and unfortunately all of us ended up with bad stomachs afterward. We ordered Gaajar Halwa for my friend’s birthday because they ran out of cake. The Halwa was oily and only 2 spoons were taken from it. Wouldn’t come back unfortunately. Food was on point when I came 2/3 years ago :(

We went out for a family meal. Staff who took the order got one item wrong & instead of getting it right, argue that she repeated the order at the end.. Taste is good. The place is nice & clean. Parking is a challenge.

Good prices and nice Tawa grill. If the meat was a bit more flavourful it would have been 5*. Asides that great service and plenty of seating won’t be an issue the restaurant is huge with seating available downstairs too. They have clean toilet facilities. Also a prayer room for both men and women. Great place.

A couple of weeks ago I celebrated my nephew birthday at Wah Bey. The food was excellent and the service was ce from the staff was excellent. They were friendly and hard working, going well beyond the required service to ensure my nephew birthday celebrations were great.

Good food. A bit expensive. Cold due to the back door remaining open for delivery drivers. Staff were ok. Seemed like they didn't have much to do, so kept asking if we were ok.

Went on first evening of Ramadan so was really quiet. Though was pleasantly surprised by the tasty curries with distinct flavours each there own. The Vegetarian samosas were a little dry, also the rice could have been fresher, but good portion sizes and not afraid to add some spice to their dishes.

Came here around 7ish and wasn't very busy food came really quickly and hot great taste was very fresh and staff were very kind and helpful they even gave us complimentary desert! Would 100% recommend if in London +halal

The food was lovely but not very spicy, and came out quickly. The restaurant is located a few minutes from Gants Hill tube station and is nice and modern inside. The staff were very attentive and the manager was absolutely lovely giving it a personal touch.

I had my daughter's first birthday party here. They did an amazing menu for us, great food, gave us a large portion of the main venue, recommended great décor, and provided us with amazing service!!! Talha and his team were fantastic and very respectable!! I would highly recommend trying this restaurant with family and friends.

We went there on our anniversary. We had a chef's special platter which was amazing and was perfect to serve 3 people and for two like us it was more than enough. Lovely, warm, fresh food as we expected. It was amazingly delicious, we really enjoyed and had a great time there, ambience was good and calming. Staff was really polite, nice and coperative. Thanks wah bey for making our day special. Just a suggestion if you would do 3 nans instead of two that would be amazing.

I hosted my sister's gender reveal on 21st Dec upstairs in Wah Bey restaurant. The event went amazingly, Anandhu was brilliant. He kept me informed every step of the way, during the planning and on the day itself. During the planning we wanted to tweak the menu slightly to cater our guests and he was more then accommodating with this request. During the day himself and his staff were spectacular, they were super attentive to our guests, made sure there was food and drinks always on the table, and we're on top of cleaning the tables when needed. We even wanted to move the tables at one point and they were happy to do this and quickly got on the case. Anandhu was always checking with me making sure everything was going well and checking timings with me to make sure the food was served when I wanted it to be. The food was very delicious, large portions and full of flavour. We requested the food not be spicy to accommodate the kids coming to the event and the chefs didn't disappoint, everyone thoroughly enjoyed the food and there was plenty to take away. Would 100% recommend doing an event here or just bringing the family for a hearty meal. Big shout out to the team: Anandhu, Thalha, Abdul, Afaq, Samriti, Anju Thank you for the amazing service. :)

I remember visiting here last year and I remembered how poor the service was and the food was equally bad. I went again with colleagues after hearing some good reviews from them, thinking that Wah Bey has changed. I thought wrong. As other customers have mentioned, they tend to dump all the grilled dish on one plate (even though we ordered separately), so it became our duty to find out what's what and split it amongst eachother. The food was delivered far too quickly, meaning now of this was actually fresh. The meat dishes itself was already cooked and all they did was just dump the sauce. Honestly, this is an insult to South Asian cuisine, in taste, quality and service. But I guess the unwarranted popularity gives them false sense of confidence. Just because there are many reviews, doesn't necessarily mean it would be good. If you're after authentic South Asian food, avoid - better off further East London than this.

My children had some lamb and all what happend was they where crying because of how spicy it was we told them not to make it spicy but they did not clearly

Lamb Karahi is amazing, freshly cooked and ask them to cook in Olive Oil, that option costs £4 extra but worth it. Another good thing was Pink Chai

Absolutely brilliant!! Food was amazing, staff were fantastic and an absolutely beautiful private area to have your intimate celebration’s!! We celebrated my sister’s 50th birthday here after our original restaurant cancelled on us only 2 days prior to our event! Luckily Wah-bey’s private area in the basement was available and my oh my! We were extremely pleasantly surprised!! The area was just perfect, beautiful ambiance, lift access to the basement, food was outstanding and staff were absolutely brilliant! It truly was a blessing in disguise that the other restaurant cancelled on us because we had the BEST time at Wah-bey!! Thank you!

Food here was average, but very unnecessarily spicy across most plates, to the point where we couldn’t enjoy the flavour. Service was okay and decor was quite nice.

We visited Wah Bey for the 2nd time and the food was amazing. We ordered the Tawa grill which was more than enough for 5-6 people, and contained a variety of food. The Lamb Gosht however was the best! The atmosphere was great, and our server Talha was extremely nice and helpful. Would definitely recommend as a family outing.

Had birthday party in private dinning room located below main restaurant. Was nicely clean, enuf space for dining/dancing and relaxing. Management & Staff has great accommodated us brilliantly!!! Ordered on Uber eats for the first time tonight. Food is banging! Freshest ingredients you can tell these people have a passion for cooking. The food melts in your mouth. Never had rice so tasty ever. Everything was lovely. Will definitely be reordering from here.

The curries were rich and satisfying, with a good balance of spices. The portions were generous and tasty. Best restaurant around Gants Hill and we will visit it again.

Recently Used venue for a Birthday surprise for relative, Talah the manger was excellent as well as Samiriti the waitress. They provided excellent customer service and were very welcoming, allowed us to decorate the venue how we wanted it. They very hospitable, The food was served on time when requested, and food was delicious and at the venue was and private rooms Downstairs were fantastic. Definitely worth it. Must try.

Nice decor, tasty food but service was not upto the expectation set as you walk into the rather funky restaurant. We attended a wedding dinner and the restaurant was notified a week in advance that there would be a vegan diet in our party. Clearly, the concept wasn't understood by anyone, from the manager to the waiting staff nor infact the chefs!! The options served had yogurt and when we pointed out that wasn't vegan we were sent sizzling paneer!! Makes me wonder if any allergen training has even taken place, though this is a lifestyle choice the lack of knowledge in the kitchen is a huge concern and I speak as a professional in the catering industry. Gone are the days where desi kitchens aren't up to scratch on dietary requirements and training.

Visited as part of a private family booking. Food was faultless mashallah 🤩 Service could be improved. After finishing each course, the next course took about 20 minutes to come out so things could have been a bit quicker. Thank you, I will return inshallah

Honest opinion, the food here is ok but there are better options around for Indian/asian food in Gants Hill. This shop was too pricey for the type of food it served. The atmosphere here is still nice.

We had an amazing event at Wah Bey. The staff were very helpful throughout, even helping us change the layout of the restaurant according to our requirements. Talha was in constant communication woth us leading up to the event. Abdul Rehman helped us prepare for the even the night before and he stayed back until 2am to help us change the layout. On the day Talha, Afaq, Abdul Rehman, Samriti and Pooja all helped us have a great time. They served a group of nearly 80 people without anyone having any complaints. The food was amazing. The mixed grill was really tasty, with the meat being soft, juicy and melted in the mouth. The chaat was really amazing, a mixture of tangy, sweet and sour flavours set thebsenses running. In the mains, the chicken karahi was really really tasty and had an amazing flavour. The chiken biryani was also amazing. Thelamb karahi also tasted fantastic. They also made chicken nuggets and chips for the children. The day was fabulous not only because of the tasty food, but the helpful and generous staff at Wah Bey. They have an amazing team that made our event amazing and a lasting memmory for us.

I went to Wah Bey recently as I had heard good things. The deco is modern and clean. Service was good if a bit slow. They have an expansive list of appetisers and mains. I went with grilled wings and chicken tikka which were good. Mains included a selection of curries, the best of which being the keema special. The butter chicken was also very good. I would recommend and visit again though note parking an issue. Nb. Possibly has the best karak chai in east London!

Avoid like the plague. I don't normally put reviews on when it's bad. But this service was absolutely ridiculous, waited over 1 hour and the food still didn't come out. To the point I had to cancel ot and walk out. Paid for a platter which came. It cost 20 and it was not enough for 2 people. Will not be recommending or going there.

We booked the restaurant for Sunday lunchtime for a party of 35 people, a group of teachers from a local weekend Islamic School. The booking process was simple. The service was exceptional and food was a hit for everyone. Great portions, well cooked, great flavours. Talha managed our group and was very friendly and professional, great customer service and certainly looked after us. Pooja was very attentive and provided great service to us. Well done Wah Bey and for sure we will back for future bookings.

Hygiene is not good their plates r dirty I been there with my sister I asked for twice for clean plates and the manager sat with an attitude they didn’t like it but if u pay somewhere u deserve respect and clean plates for food I avoid this place after there r so many good places in ilford to eat

Wah Bey is an absolute gem for Pakistani cuisine! From the moment we arrived, the service was impeccable. Worst service and behavior from the staff. Particularly the manager was very very rude. When I asked his name, he didn't even tell me his name. Very unprofessional staff, no uniform no name plate for the manager. Very very disappointed with him. Disgusting service. I am giving 1 star because there is no option below that.
