iCafe Kilmarnock in East Ayrshire

okay, so i'm editing my review just to say that this place isn't worth it anymore this place used to be really, really nice. friendly staff, good seats and tables, good food, nice prices, but everything changed around.. i'd say maybe march-april of this year? tables got worse, staff quit, food got pricer, food got taken off of the menu, wait times were longer, sometimes you had to remind the staff about orders even after paying for it and waiting 20 minutes, even with coffee or food the milkshakes have gotten worse, with it instead being replaced by lumps of ice cubes instead of being made correctly and, to whoever responds to this review, do not say i was disrespectful or the kind towards your staff - i was always respectful, and the staff liked me, you guys just got worse every mistake that you made was due to your own incompetence, whether that be too much froth on coffee's, overcooked, smaller food, running out of plates/cups, etc no wonder your staff quit, i did too, and i was a customer response: of course, i understand i am meant to be civil, i have been respectful within this review, i have pointed out the flaws with your cafe, and it was your choice to either fix them or not, and i don't believe you chose to also.. i'm not colin, LOL, i'm writing this out of my own volition and opinion, so please don't accuse me of being someone who i'm not, and i will not speak on behalf of someone who isn't me i'm writing this review out of my honest opinion, also, please don't insult my dad online, you understand how much of a bad look that is for you... he never insulted anyone if they didn't make a mistake, he's very respectful in restaurants and such, if they do it correctly, opposed to repeatedly doing it incorrectly after a multitude of correct orders, which further proves my point of it going worse over time your cafe was good at the start and fell off at the end, if you wanted to tell my dad something about his attitude you should've told him at face value, and not have us keep in the store if you didn't like him, along with your staff the only reason he had an outburst was because he got boiling hot soup spilt on him due to a wobbly table that you guys had for months, actually, and never bothered to fix, please imagine yourself in his position and, of course, thank you for the well wishes, i wish you good luck on your cafe, and i hope these reviews can highlight some of the areas you actually need to improve on, so please, have a good day

Without a doubt, one of the worst coffee shops in Kilmarnock. No-one in either of the two shops can make a good coffee. Always way too much froth. Food is always overcooked. Tables wobble so much that you're always spilling your drink or soup. Flies landing on their cakes. Milkshakes with big chunks of ice. You can be waiting up to 20-30 minutes for your order. Really expensive too...Not a good place. ADDITIONAL: Answer to owner: Yes, Brian. That's why your cafe is closing. It MUST be my fault. Nothing to do with your abusive staff, or anything mentioned in the above comment. Don't get me wrong, your cafe used to be great. Great prices and food. Nice atmosphere. But your cafe has really went downhill recently. That's why a lot of your customers have been going back to Costa Coffee and Coffee Trader.

The opening times said that at 5:30 they were closing ( both Google and at the door). When I arrived at 4:30 the staff were very rude to me saying that they were closed. I would appreciate more politeness and accuracy in opening times.

Has pictures of full cooked breakfasts on Google but when we went there was no cooked breakfast on the menu only filled rolls

They need more staff! Went for lunch, lucky to get a table. Front of house woman lovely even under pressure, but failed to mention, order at the counter. Our fault. We ordered, but both our orders weren't correct and brought 5mins apart. I wasn't too bothered, i didn't get the deluxe in a brioche roll but my friend being a strict vegetarian, was given chicken in the vegetable loaded fries. It wasn't apparent because of the melted cheese over the chips and sauce at first, but i had to watch her face when she realised, it was chicken! Yes we should of complained but the two female staff seemed 2b consoling each other, when we left. No excuse, but seriously for a cafe that clearly caters for vegetarian, do not make such a lethal mistake.

We ordered a latte x2 and 2 Large Breafasts ,Got charged £33 .we got our coffees which were really nice but a wee while later we were given our breakfast. An attention to detail needs sorting,my breakfast came and it was as if it wS thrown on the plate ,wasn't sure if I was eating my egg or tattie scone or sausage ,didn't even know there was black pudding on my plate as it was all on top of each other ,my eggs were crispy burnt on the white bit but either hard or snotty on the yolk There is no presentation on any of that plate of food ,So we wouldn't recommend this cafe to anyone For what we had it was very expensive .

Local cafe near the bus station. Coffee: pretty much your standard commercial, dark-roast beans. They serve mostly espresso-based coffee. Beans are also for sale if you fancy one Food: They serve breakfast, cakes, and pastries. Space: would probably accommodate around 20 pax indoors with some mini tables outdoors.

It was our first time here. The vibe was good. It was raining. We ordered Americano and cappuccino which were good. We also ordered croissant 🥐 which was delicious. We loved the humble staff. Nice place to be go when you are in Kilmarnock and you want a coffee ☕ or pastries. Would visit again.

Grabbed a tea and coffee, whilst visiting Kilmarnock.

The food is delicious, coffee is lovely and the staff create an atmosphere of welcoming and this is seen by the way they are greeted by the regulars. It is also a dog friendly establishment which is rare in Kilmarnock.

Excellent drinks very friendly staff.

Only had a coffee,not somewhere I would normally go . Don't know any of my friends who have been here ,but would recommend as staff very pleasant and coffee was very good and decent sized mug .Cakes looked lovely but did not have one .

Frozen inside, given tea straight away, then told food would be 8 minutes .. which didn't seem too long, but in fact was much longer. Tea drank before food came as it took so long, and really wasn't worth the wait, soggy French toast with brittle bacon!

Toastie was actually tasty but was sat on a pile of coleslaw, so one side was a soggy mess. The 'luxury' macaroni for £10 was rotten, made with penne pasta which made it really bland. Also as the polystyrene box you used for macaroni didn't seal, the sauce was everywhere!!! They had no garlic bread so they sent unseasoned chips to replace it without asking us.

Stopped off for coffee and cake. Good selection of cakes, we both opted for apple pie. Hubby's portion was about 1/3rd bigger than mine, but both same price. Didn't say anything at the time but maybe they need to look at portioning to make sure of equality

One of the best ice coffees I had in a while, very warm and kind service, and nice atmosphere. Would definitely recommend it for food and drinks if you're stopping in Kilmarnock!

It is bit pricey but it lot better mocha than another shop in Kilmarnock and taster. The WiFi works. Staff are friendly

Staff polite, asked all the correct question. However personally felt that my latte was too strong and so did my mum.

Had a Full Breakfast, the eggs were a mess(no running yolk), the toast was soaking with oil and no black pudding. The salad was good thou. The staff was friendly, the place is tidy. Sunday 4pm

Just to advise that any reviews prior to September 2021 belong to the previous owners formally Icafe the cafe reopened after almost 2 years being closed and now operates as Cafe Courtyard

Really enjoyed it, yummy pizza coffee and cakes and the staff were super friendly with our 3 young children.

Great food and great service, well worth a visit if in the area.

Terrible menu no traditional breakfast they tried to offer me Turkey bacon and chicken sausages ...no thanks.

Always recieve good service though online states closing time is half 4 and shop window says half 5...maybe change that!

Had never been here before and having had no lunch I decided to go in for a coffee and toastie. I ordered and paid at the desk and went to find a table. It was quite quiet (only 3 more people sitting in) with two members of staff working but there were no clean tables.I sat at a table which had been cleared but not wiped thinking the waitress would clean it when she brought my food. She didn't...she just plonked my coffee and toastie down on the dirty table and left. As I was on the phone at this point I just let it go.The toastie was awful. The very thin sliced bread squashed together till almost non existent and the cheese mostly on the outside of the toasty. How does this even happen? I don't know what they use to make them but it's not how a toastie should be. The coffee was okay but what I had was certainly not worth the money and I will not be back there. There are far nicer places in Kilmarnock.

Id rate this as poor at best. My wife ordered a hot chocolate and cream on top was off as though had sort of curdled. The coffee was terrible also. I surprised as seems good from outside

If I could leave no stars I would! I went in to find only one table clear, all the other tables hadn't been cleared, there was only 4 other people in the cafe, so it wasn't as if it was busy... I sat down waited 10 mins, nobody took my order... don't even know if I was to stand and order, or sit and order. The 2 members of staff were chatting and having a good old time to themselves, laughing and giggling. After 10 mins, I just left! No one asked me if I wanted anything... when I went to go to the door, one of the staff said "Bye" which was the only time they actually acknowledged me, so that felt sarcastic, given that they never said hello to me in the first place, or acknowledged me in any way whatsoever. I've never actually left a review before, but the experience made me feel uncomfortable AND I've never experienced walking into such a messy cafe in my life. The owner should really make sure the staff they hire actually value customers, look after the business and don't drive customers away.

Friendly staff lovely food, only thing I would say is I would have liked table service.

I enjoyed the coffee here and the staff were very pleasant, nice cakes too.

Not busy but there were dirty dishes on tables when we went in and staff were in no hurry to remove them.

Great variety of coffees to chose, plenty of food choices also. Staff are friendly and sevice was efficient.

Popped in to have a late lunch. Tea served before meal, meaning it was cold when it arrived. Son ordered a cheese toastie, not sure how they clarify this, but grated cheese just thrown over toasted bread, not my idea of a toastie. I ordered a Veggie breakfast, mushrooms were half cooked and cold, scrambled egg was cold, tomatoes were salad tomatoes heated up, not proper tomatoes for cooking, potato scones, were tasteless. Best thing about breakfast was the bread. I would say considering it was a veggie breakfast it was overpriced as was the tea. First visit to the ICafe and think it will be our last.

This is a small coffee shop in the town center. There is limited food choices. The peri peri chicken sandwich was good and so was the chicken and cheese toastie. Wifi reception is excellent.

Nice selection of sandwiches toasted or cold. Prices were reasonable and centrally located in Kilmarnock Town Centre. Nothing fancy but good for quick bite to eat coffee if in town.

It was a lovely experience! Staff is super polite and had even ran out of ice cream, but politely offered to run to the store and get more so my daughter could get her Nutella Milkshake. Toilets needed a wee bit of a cleaning but it's understandable that the staff was overwhelmed with work and had priorities. We will be defo back xxx

Been in here loads of times, for take out coffee and sit in. I usually have the coconut latte and yeah ok it can be quite sweet but it is delicious! I’ve also had the hazelnut one and it’s good too. Always met with lovely service and the cakes look delicious.

Very relaxed welcoming Internet cafe in Kilmarnock. Staff are excellent and the Service cannot be faulted. Excellent manageress in charge who goes out of her way to chat with a friendly smile. Nothing is too much trouble. Interior of the cafe is very clean with some really nice snacks on the menu. Can highly recommend.

Me and my little boy love coming in to the icafe, his favourite is the strawberry hot chocolate because the girl Shannan always makes him it in a small cup and it's always cooled so he can drink it straight away, all the staff are so friendly, Lindsey and Allison always make you feel so welcome, we come almost every week!

Tried 2 different types of soup, they were both excellent, especially the parsnip and red chilli. The raspberry and coconut milkshake is an experience. ...yum!

Girl Alana serving was very friendly, listening to her speak to each customer as they came in cafe she was very friendly, also taking an interest in her customers and having a conversation with them. 10 out of 10 for customer service and interpersonal skills.

We went in for a quick coffee and it made a nice change from a chained place. The coffee was fine we didn’t try the food. There was plenty of choice and if us reasonably priced.

Popped in her for a quick lunch. Having never been we didn’t know if it was fable service or order at counter type place. We sat at a free table which was not clean and not even the sight of me wiping the table myself was enough to kick start a staff member into gear. You’d think my lost look would’ve nudged one of the two staff to pop over and let us know the lie of the land.

Great place for a coffee and chat staff are very friendly and courteous they even do a mean bowl of chunky veg soup so get off your bum and pay the place a visit :-) :-) :-) :-) :) popped in today and trying a banana latte I must say one of the best lattes I have ever tasted this place is well worth a visit nice and cosy on a wet day even on a warm day it's worth a visit nice bit of music plays throughout your stay

This is by far the friendliest café in Kilmarnock, it isn't some big corporate coffeehouse with no atmosphere! The staff are amazing, they have never been anything other than warm and welcoming. Oh and the drinks & cakes are...... well I keep going back so they must be doing something right :)
