Huntingfield Arms in Suffolk Coastal

This was a friends meet-up. This comes with high recommendation. The food was quick to arrive and was nicely presented, tasty and hot. The portions were very good too. We chatted for some time after finishing the meal and there was never a time we felt hurried to leave. A great experience and happy to recommend to others

The Huntingfield Arms continues to serve the best food around. Family meal of 9 on Sunday were all extremely happy at how good the food was and how reasonable the pricing is! The desserts are incredible to especially the Bakewell Tart!

as normal the food was delightful and the room cosy some regulars I don't call myself that yet but we go often and have never been disappointed . we know orders take a while. as cooked to order and it so nice to be in the pub we don't ever worry about getting in and out as quick as possible as some seem to do . thank you all at the Arms

Visited for lunch with friends and was extremely impressed with how the Chef dealt with my dietary requirements . The food was cooked to perfection , fresh and everything I needed. It was a pleasure to go out and enjoy a meal . it takes a good chef to be able to work with food naturally and produce tasty food that does not use butter or flours. Thankyou

This pub is so popular that it can be difficult to get a booking but when you do you are treated to excellent food in a welcoming and friendly atmosphere. You will find a good selection on the menu which is all expertly cooked and is very reasonably priced.

Miles from anywhere, but what a great place to eat. I’m sure we will be back. There were five of us and we mostly had different things from the menu. We were all happy with the food we had chosen and everything was hot and well presented. It’s a freehouse, so there is plenty to choose from at the bar. Both landlord and landlady were hard at work, with a minimum of staff in support. All in all, a well run ship, with good customer support. I would recommend it, but would advise booking.

We visited for Sunday lunch & it was delicious. Piping hot, plenty of veg and the meat (lamb) was tasty & tender. Puddings were superb. Highly recommend for Sunday lunch although I would suggest booking in advance as they are popular.

Cannot be beaten for quality and quantity of food, value for money, service, atmosphere range of ciders and Steve’s extensive knowledge of them, flexibility with menus, altered to cater for fussy veggie and Brie hating burger lover! Had a wonderful evening, will be there again for sure, a really special treat for us all. Thank you so much.

The food in the Huntingfield Arms is excellent. The menu changes daily and is an eclectic fusion of dishes that will make choosing one difficult. I opted for the sharwarma chicken skewer which was presented beautifully. As tasty as it looked, it was excellent value for money. The landlord is friendly and chatty and I would have no hesitation in recommending his pub for a meal. The Huntingfield Arms is set in a quiet village with outdoor seating available, has a small shop inside selling some very tasty treats and is now my place of choice for eating when visiting Suffolk

Another great meal, lasagne this time and plenty of it, lovely and hot, first class and individually made. Also the hunters chicken very moist, loads of sauce, attractive accompanying salad. Difficult to know what to choose from the ever changing and very appealing menu.

Great friendly Pub, had fantastic meal , Feather blade steak saute potatoes tenderstem broccoli with creamy peppercorn sauce, so tender melted in mouth, better than any fillet steak, at a fraction of the price, fantastic meal 5 * from me, but you most book to guarantee a excellent dining experience.

What a delicious Sunday roast dinner we had today at the Huntingfield Arms in Suffolk. My husband had roast beef, a tender, tasty and very generous portion. I had a roast chicken breast which was also tender, moist and tasty. Accompanied by homemade gravy and 5 different vegetables and Yorkshire puddings and stuffing for the chicken if wanted. We would eat here every Sunday if we could, particularly with the good value prices they charge for such high quality food. With a warm welcome and a friendly landlord and staff, what more would you want? Hats off to the Huntingfield Arms and they also have a shop in the pub where you can buy their own homemade and frozen meals to take away.

Sunday lunch could not be beaten and we have tried a few. A warm welcome and a pleasant relaxed atmosphere. The food is superbly cooked and the helpings are perfect. The Bakewell tart and lemon meringue pie were perfection. Just could not be better.

Me and my boyfriend visited Huntingfield arms on Wednesday Evening we been served with a drinks and then sat at our table with our food ordered. The steak been made very well and very delicious I really enjoyed it my boyfriend ordered Chicken bbq with chips and he really enjoyed his part of meal too. The desert been made top notch as well and our waiter served us well. Would reccomend this place to anyone on any occasion. Definetly will be coming back here

This is such a perfect country pub! Friendly and welcoming landlord, great home cooked food at such good value and good range of beers. What a hidden gem! the Huntingfield Arms serves fantastic food at great prices whilst adhering to social distancing guidelines. It was a tough choice deciding what to have as the whole menu was tempting but went for homemade beef lasagna with salad & chips, the portions are huge and taste fantastic, although stuffed we couldn’t not have a pudding, again fantastic and everything is homemade.

My boyfriend and I booked a table for two and didn’t fancy anything special so we decided to both have a roast dinner as the menu it limited due to Covid rules we were thinking it would be just a roast well it was more than just a roast it was cooked from the heart and soul of the wife who owns the pub it was one of the best I’ve eaten in any pub or restaurant in Suffolk everything was cooked to perfection and as good as I can cook at home thinking the pudding couldn’t top the roast we shared our puddings I had lemon posset he had mint chocolate cheesecake and it was all homemade it was yummy and the portion sizes were massive this is excellent pub grub at its best I’ve eaten there before but didn’t experience there roast dinner before and I will certainly only go there in future and already raving to my friends and I only download this app to write this review as I wouldn’t normally bother but I couldn’t not this place is a hidden gem thanks for making our evening special especially with all the rules and regulations regarding Covid.

We’ve been staying in self catering AirBnB as we are Vegan but fancied a pub meal. We called ahead and checked that we could order something from the menu. We loved the pub from the moment we laid eyes on it. Really picturesque. The Landlord was so friendly and the dish we had, Bobotie was stunning. It’s the sort of meal that inspires you to try it at home. Added to all of that, the prices are incredibly reasonable. Although we live a bit of a way off in Norwich, we will endeavour to visit here whenever we can.

I have been having takeaway Sunday lunches for the last few weeks from the Huntingfield Arms. What a fantastic dinner. All freshly cooked veg , meat and roasties with all the accompaniments and plenty of it. The landlord is always very friendly and they are providing a fantastic service during these strange COVID times. I live 2 or 3 villages away so it is not my local pub, but I will ensure that I start going there when lockdown is over and we are back to normal. Well done Huntingfield Arms

Our neighbours recommended this pub to us, especially the Sunday lunch. We had the rib of beef, it was fabulous, vegetables were fresh and beautifully cooked. Visited on a Thursday lunchtime and virtually had the place to ourselves. The Pub doesn't have a website and doesn't seem to need to advertise, due to its reputation for great home made food at a very reasonable price. Lovely couple own the pub and made us very welcome. The menu offered a good choice and the food was cooked to perfection. Even got to meet Clive the pub cat. Highly recommended.

Visited between Christmas and New year. Party of 12. If you like good home cooked food, with a warm welcome this is the place to visit. All 12 meals were served piping hot and no one left still hungry. Best eatery in the area, good quality, home cooked food.

Arrived on the off chance for a table for 2.. told by the friendly barman we could be fitted in but we may have to wait about an hour, this was fine with us .. within half an hour we were served our delicious Roast Lamb dinner, the food was amazing, all home cooked with plenty of veg.. dessert was home made Bakewell Tart with custard and ice cream again totally delicious.. the service was great, provided by the barman and landlord both very friendly and nothing too much trouble.. this is not our first visit to the Huntingfield Arms and defo wont be our last. Had an excellent lunch here today. Once a month the landlady cooks lovely scotch eggs, pork pies etc to take away. We had one for a starter, really delicious. Then a roast beef and a fish pie with beautiful fresh veg. Too full for dessert but had one last time and it was really good. Steve the landlord is always very welcoming and the whole place is warm and cosy. We come here often.

Best pub I’ve ever been to very good food and beer friendly atmosphere and very good price we’ve been going once a month for a family meal for years. It’s disappointing to read someone feels the need to put a bad review if anyone has a problem tell them at the time when they come to the table to ask if everything is ok rather than put it on here. Just some people need to get a life. I think the 100 + good reviews speak for them selves.

Went to the Huntingfield Arms for Sunday lunch with family after another local establishment fell from grace. I really didn't enjoy it. The choice on Sunday is very limited. You can have roast meat, swimming in gravy or a couple of other choices. The meat looked over done and the veg were bland. There were a couple of requests made when we ordered which were ignored. Service was slow. And the place could do with a bit of a tidy up (shabby chairs, grubby corners, etc.).On the plus side, it wasn't too expensive.Avoid Sunday lunch unless you like over roasted meat swimming in gravy.

We had never been to this pub before.Although we were an hour early it was no problem for the very friendly and understanding landlord.As itw as a Sunday we had roasts, I had beef and my wife had chicken.

Our once a month meet up took us to the Huntingfield Arms and what a lovely atmosphere and a lovely warm welcome.

Lovely welcome and delicious home made roast. Great detail in the side vegetables, and really good selection. The vegetarian option was also interesting and creative. Can’t wait to come back.

We visited Huntingfield to see the spectacular painted ceiling of the parish church. It is a bit hard to find the church, a mile or so out of the village, but well worth it! We stopped in the pub for lunch and were really surprised how good it was! For £15.80 we had two baguettes with cheese and tomato, a half pint of cider and a cup of coffee. It was served quickly and tasted great. I liked the relaxed personal atmosphere of the place and the warm welcome from the landlord. Good place to stop!

The food here is good, the staff wonderful, the atmosphere excellent and the prices very reasonable. We were made very welcome and arriving out of the blue with no booking the staff were most accommodating. Hence well 5 deserved stars. We will certainly be back.

Well what can I say .Not that I eat many sandwiches at The Huntingfield Arm as theirs fabulous selection of home cooked food is exceptional . When ever we play Pétanque they always cook us up a fantastic dish . Yesterday was a delicious moussaka or if you preferred a lasagne accompanied with sidedishes . They definitely win the annual trophy for food served up for a match .

There couldn’t have been more than a dozen people in the pub but it still took half an hour for the food to arrive. Ham sandwiches made with white sliced buttered bread were barely edible.

We attended a group meal, complet ewith dogs in tow on Friday at the Huntingfield Arms, and were blown away by the quality of the food and more so the size of the portions.

We just visited this area of Suffolk for the second time in 6 months. I have historical family ties to the area, so our first visit was made out of curiosity. We fell in love with the beauty of the area, long country walks, impressive history and beautiful churches.

Today, I think I have had the best Sunday lunch , to celebrate Mothering Sunday, I have had for a very long time. Two children, 4 adults, all different meals. All arrived hot and very well cooked. All fresh veg, again, well cooked. We could not fault this lovely country pub and the warm welcome from the landlord. Well worth the visit. Look forward to our next visit.

Well what a fabulous turn out to this wonderful six nations six course meal fabulously prepared and served into the second half of the England Scotland game which will also go down in history. Looking forward to the next events evening.

I booked here for a party of 10 six weeks in advance and submitted the chosen menus 2 weeks in advance, on arriving on the evening of the prebooked date we were told there was no record of our booking! After much discussion the booking was found but there were already diners in the restaurant! Two tables were hastily put up in the bar for us but some of our chosen menus were unavailable so some people had to choose from the daily menu board. The quality of the food was very good as was the presentation and service, we did receive some complimentary drinks and coffee, but the evening wasn't quite what we expected! Please update your booking system to match the quality of your food!

We went with a group of about ten friends for a pre Christmas get together. The food and service were excellent. A really proper independent pub with an excellent landlord who takes great trouble to make sure you have everything you need. The food is absolutely delicious and all freshly prepared. I had the turkey and all trimmings and my partner had the seafood thermidor both were excellent. We started with the seafood stack, also delicious and ended with the lightest most delicious Christmas pudding. Highly recommend.
