Very simple idea but works really well. Choice of 3 fruit fillings and 3 toppings which you can pick and mix - wait a few minutes while they prepare it and then eat “on the go” or find a place in one of Borough Markets sitting areas. Quality and taste are excellent - we all loved it.

Tried this Delicious dessert for the first time and absolutely loved it. If you love crumble than this is the place to try at least once. There is always a massive queue but with their quick service you don’t have to wait long. Time passes while you people watch in Spiterfields Market and wait for your turn.

We were very excited to try Humble Crumble after seeing all of the hype on Instagram. My husband, kids, and myself were very disappointed with our crumbles with “ frozen custard”, and the Lemon Meringue special. The fruit was undercooked, the sauce was a liquid mess like juice ( instead of a gooey meld of fruit flavors), and I don’t get how the frozen blob on our desserts was custard. It tasted like ice milk without flavoring. It wasn’t even as good as an ice cream cone from McDonald! I wouldn’t recommend filling yourself up with this dessert when there are so many other great options at Bourough Market! And… it’s a lot of money for what you get.

Looking for a sweet bite after a late-morning first meal of the day, I stumbled across Humble Crumble in the Borough Market. I'm a sucker for vanilla bean anything, so I ordered a classic apple crumble with a generous scoop of vanilla bean cream on top and frozen custard. Ordering was super-easy. Step up to any of several tablets; make all your choices; pay; stand back and wait for them to call you. All done by oneself at one's own pace. I was tempted by the other custards. Apparently this place specializes in hot custard, and they also have room-temperature custard. However, frozen dairy and I are inveterate lovers, so it was never really a question. The overall dish was a deconstructed take on an apple crumble or strudel with vanilla sauce and ice cream except the sauce is thick cream and featured much more prominently. For something a little bit different but still creamy and familiar, I recommend Humble Crumble.

This is crumble heaven! A must visit when you love something sweet. It was definitely worth waiting 2 years for. A warm fruit filling, a crunchy crumble, topped of with toasted marshmallow... it was to die for!

We did a "food tour" in Borough Market and Humble Crumble was on the list for a long time, so we decided to wrap up the brunch with a nice dessert. The queue moves fast, and the options are visible before you reach the order point, which is great. Nonetheless, that is not a crumble, but rather an interpretation of one, or as someone born in 2000 would say, it's a deconstructed crumble. The crumble itself is more of a flour-smth, the flavor on the fruits was sub-par and the custard was served cold, even though we asked for it warm. I know, I know, why didn't we say smth? initially, we didn't know it was our crumble, and then we panicked. So we took our crumble, ate most of it (because it was not cheap) and then moved on. My heart still cries, it's like meeting your heroes in person. It's a trap, don't do it!!!

Save your money. It's £7.00 for apple crumble and custard in a little pot with a wooden spoon EWWW. The apple isn't all soft and it's cut into tiny cubes approx 1cm square with the peel still on some pieces. Quite an odd texture for a crumble I thought. The crumble is basic, nothing special at all, maybe just shortbread biscuits crunched up? The custard is AMAZING !!!!! THE BEST IVE EVER EATEN IN 52 YEARS. But ... There is not enough, and its spilled all down the sides. By the time you've eaten ½ of the pot its bone dry. Such a shame. I won't be back

Humble Crumble in the Borough market was a fun one time treat to try, but its not something that I crave to go back to. Queue by going to the side of the stand, when you reach the counter you place your order on the electronic pad, they will call you once your order is ready. The electronic pad offers numerous ways to customize your crumble.

At lunchtime on a Thursday during winter, the queue was not that bad, involving a wait of just 10 min or so. There are loads of possible combinations, but I played it safe and went for a classic apple crumble with hot custard. It was very good, although I had requested 50/50 fruit and crumble, but seemed to have a lot more of the former. I’d happily return as long as the queue was similarly reasonable next time. NOTE: I visited the Borough Market location, which seems incorrectly listed on Tripadvisor at present.

We visited the Borough Market Humble; ordering two crumbles, apple & cinnamon and wild berry. Both with shortbread crumble and gorgeous hot vanilla custard topping. Reasonable sized pots at £7 each so not the cheapest but as a treat worth every penny. Absolutely gorgeous

Humble Crumble is without a doubt one of my all-time favorite dessert spots. To put it simply, whether you're a fan of apple crumble or not, you'll undoubtedly fall head over heels for this place. Despite the constant crowd and long queues, every minute spent waiting is absolutely worth it. Their innovative creation, the "crumbrule," is a true showstopper that deserves a big WOW. During my recent visit to London, I couldn't resist going back three times. Don't think twice about it – a visit to Humble Crumble is an absolute must. Your taste buds will thank you for the delightful experience

Victims of the social media hype we sought this out in Borough market and joined the pretty lengthy queue - which unfortunately seemed to put many customers off. Clearly a busy time (Saturday afternoon) but the 45 minute wait was a little excessive but it did move consistently to keep you optimistic. You order via iPads (maybe reason for the wait?) and then wait for your order to be made. I would certainly suggest someone take the order to speed things up. The wait is worth it though (just) and it was delicious at a fairly reasonable price. Plenty of options but not too much to over face you and the custard is to die for. A must visit if in Borough market but maybe avoid Saturday afternoons!

I guess it’s reputation precedes is so a popular place. We went at about 3pm on a Saturday and had to wait about 45 mins to be served. Was the wait work it? No. I felt it was a boarder line over priced crumble served in a tub, custard spilling over the edge and had to eat it with a revolting wooden spoon. Wouldn’t bother going out of my way to visit this place.

Saw this on Instagram so was delighted to find it when wandering round a very busy Borough Market. Fate was on our side as the queue closed just after we got there. Emma who had the worst job ever of telling people the queue was closed deserved a medal. I have never heard so many people begging to be allowed to join a queue and at times being rude to her. At the end of the day they had closed and were close to running out. The crumble was amazing. We stayed traditional with our selection but it was good and well worth the wait. Will return when back in London next.

ANSWER TO: Nicolas Breppe Hello, I don't have to explain how this information was obtained, but I think you left out an important part. After they entered the coffee shop and ordered a coffee, you addressed the Asian girl behind the bar saying "nǐ hǎo" ("hello" in Chinese). She didn't take it as they expected, and she felt uncomfortable, so she spoke to the manager, who intervened and asked them to leave. That's the full story; Let everyone draw their own conclusions.
