Hudo Lounge in Cardiff

Great place to have a coffee and a chat or a full breakfast, Brunch. Lunch, tea, or even a Pint & Gin with Tonic. Service is always good staff helpful and appear happy in there jobs to. We use this chain in most cities & towns as they are always consistently very good.

Great place for hanging out or for a quick bite. Absolutely loved the experience and the food.

5 of us eat there at lunchtime today. Meals came all different times. Still waiting for mine 20 mins after everyone else. Also turned up completely cold. All the meals were cold. It was very busy today but meals were really not up st scratch for a lounge. Having eaten in many lounges throughout Cardiff and always enjoyed. Unfortunately today was a let down and a put of. Staff were extremely busy though. Need more staff and food arriving still hot.

After working out at the gym, I would deffo recommend the big veggie breakfast. So yummy. Excellent friendly fast service, cosy and warm restaurant.

like this place but the portions have got so small over the last 12 months, such as the nasi goreng. Also, it's in Canton so not sure why the address says Pontcanna?!

I can’t recommend this place enough! The food was fresh and perfectly cooked, the portions were generous, and the staff ensured we had a seamless experience.

Having recent experience of other "Lounges" venues i sent a booking enquiry through the Hudo website, had automatic reply saying member of the team would be in touch within 24 hours but nothing. Tried chasing but got nowhere. So....booking enquiry ignored. Messenger message ignored. Comment on Facebook post ignored. Email ignored & phone line constantly engaged. Shockingly unprofessional, highly disappointed. No idea what the venue or the food is like, and sadly never will.

First time I’ve been to this lounge. Came for an early works Christmas do. Staff really friendly, helpful and attentive. Food was delicious and really good portion sizes. Competitive prices. Would come back.

This review is based purely on the booking system. No one answering the phones ever no matter what time you call to amend a booking. The booking system only lets you book for 6 or more people which doesn't help for smaller parties.

Great tapas place. Good food. Good service. Portion size could be little bigger.

Really nice staff and good food, much bigger breakfast than I expected

We had 1 vegetarian dish, and 1 meat dish. The latter dish had a very small amount of meat, and the quality was poor. Drinks were ok, but the food was pretty expensive Disappointing.

There was a lady locked in the accessible toilets (she was okay, albeit.. drugged up.) had to climb an obscene amount of stairs with my walking stick (MS) to the other toilets while staff flapped. Staff were unaware that the lady had been in there since before we had arrived (90 mins earlier), but they were familiar with her. Staff were not remotely apologetic for the inconvenience and struggle to get upstairs. It just put a dampener on the experience. Food was very nice though.

No puedo recomendar el personal en este lugar lo suficiente. Estuvimos aquí el 9 de septiembre y el personal era brillante cuando les hicimos consciente de una alergia. El gerente fue y revisó todo en la cocina hasta qué ingredientes estamos en los diferentes tipos de pan que tienen con el fin de construir a mi compañero un lácteo y huevos libres de soja Benedict. La comida era buena, y su nido de abeja helado café con leche era genial también!

We visited for breakfast. The full English breakfast was delicious. The bacon was not piping hot, but all of the other items were. Lovely decor in this place.

We had the best experience at Hudo Lounge when we booked it for a post parkrun brunch to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. Camilla was an absolute star and a pleasure to deal with throughout - from taking our initial booking for 40 people and managing the food pre-orders to decking out our section with balloons and Prosecco on the day. The efforts Camilla and her team went to for us really made our celebration ❤️

Really love the food in the Hudo lounge, always tasty. Staff are friendly and attentive. Service occasionally a little slow if it's busy. Good choice of vegan and vegetarian options. I love the tapas selection!

Called in for a family meal before the Wales football match. Very busy, but the service was friendly and quick, and the food was tasty.

Food is always cooked really good BUT management need TO listen your portions are FOR SPARROWS give just a little bit more on the plate always leave feeling hungry after eating here but the breakfast are great tasty and filling so will be staying away from the mains I have tried nearly every mains here better places around portion wise

Only popped in for a quick drink but the choice of drinks is really good and the service was excellent. We'll be going back soon and having a meal there. Very nice place. New visit. We had food this time, which was very nice. Great service and a good selection on the menu. Well be going back again.

Dreadful food raw sausages raw eggs had food before and was fabulous but this time left it although the brought sausages when we were leaving could be an off day but for the cost not excitable really don't recommend there now

Good place to have some cocktails with your friends or family. Very good flavor although the "Raspberry Mojito" a little strong. The "English Garden" is highly recommended.

I've just been in, and it was a lovely experience. Dog friendly. Shout out to the servers and the bar staff who couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. Good choice of vehan and gluten-free options, There was an art lesson going on tonight! Definitely will go back.

Beautifully designed bar/cafe. I love the interior design. Beer was very nice but wine was average (even though it was the expensive one on the menu). Clean toilets too!

Table service, friendly staff and the food emwas good. I had brunch, which was an all-day full British breakfast. My wife had the butter milk chicken. Both were reasonable priced and tasty.

Always an amazing gluten free selection from The Lounges. A coeliacs dream! Highly recommend the burgers or selection of breakfasts! We were here for a sip-and-paint event which was brilliant as well. Lovely atmosphere

I love this place, great ambience and atmosphere and fab staff!

It gets very loud when it's busy - no soft furnishings to soak up the sound - but an amazingly varied menu and absolutely ideal for veggies and vegans, they have separate menus for each which are as big as the ones for carnivores. Drinks are a bit pricey, though.

The food in here is always amazing! The service is top tier. June and Laura always go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. They either have phenomenal memory - or I order the same thing far too often. They know my order before I place it. Love this place.

Went here for the second time with a large group of 16 for dinner on Saturday evening. Once again we were very impressed with the friendly service which is always a bonus , a warm welcome and of course excellent food. More than happy to go again, just about to book again for 3 further events in Cardiff and am hoping they can fit us in. P.s. The interior of the place is really welcoming too.

Went lunchtime on a weekday, plenty of free tables. Nicely laid out with low lighting rather than stark bright ceiling lights. Good choice of food, prices reasonable. I had a tapas - not a massive portion for your money, but nice enough. Ordered from our table on the app - super easy! Would definitely return.

Food gone downhill cold soup had to be reheated full of. Cream half a tuna baguette col three seventy five glass of orange juice ,very disappointing

Lovely new menu, had cowboy burger, raspberry and lemon drizzle cake, coconut mocktail and expresso and tonic as I don't drink Friend had bacon cheeseburger and sticky toffee pudding. Very quick service, lovely staff not intrusive. Very tasty food delivered very efficiently, lovely options for non alcoholic drinkers. Nice chilled out Sunday lunch.

Extensive menu. Friendly service and excellent food. Though not vegetarian, we did choose the vegetarian options because it sounded interesting and we weren't disappointed it was very tasty and flavoursome.

Stopped here for brunch while out visiting family. dog friendly, great menu selection, relaxed atmosphere, staff were all friendly and helpful. Food was great quality and reasonably priced. Just found out there's another of these 20mins from me in Stratford upon Avon so I'm going to try it out as so impressed by this.. will visit again next time I'm down.

Really enjoy going here. I have recently found this place went there over Christmas for a Christmas meal with a large group of friends I have then since been multiple times with family including with kids and I've always had a very enjoyable time. The food has always been excellent. Price is not too bad. Service is always good. Enjoy coming here

Spent a lovely evening here for a charity pub quiz. A very nice pub with tasty food, but my highest praise goes to the staff. Every member of staff were very professional, friendly and couldn't do enough for us. We will be back!

Just had the vegetable burger without coleslaw and the mayo ( there is no need for either at any time). Amazing, highly recommend it, and I've eaten a few in 60 years of being a vegetarian. Service was also brilliant.

I only had a white coffee and teacake. It was ok, not enough butter! It was quite busy but we didn't have to wait too long.

Friendly, great staff and really helpful if you have allergy requirement. My wife is coeliac and this has always been such a safe place for her to eat with great options.

Really like the lounges in Cardiff. Ppl are lovely, food is always good. They allow dogs. It's a teeny bit pricey for a pub. 4 ppl. Mains and coffees. No booze. £15 a head. But I am out of touch.

We did a gig here on 29/09/2023 with www.betteryoubettermerecordswales.co.uk and it was a lovely place. There was a really nice vibe, everyone had a great night, and we're looking forward to going back on the 8th of December.

Attended at around 6pm on a Friday, no reservation made. Easily obtained a seat and ordered both food and drink using the qr code on the menu. Drinks were brought out promptly, food shortly after. The food was good, I opted for the brisket chili and my partner opted for the halloumi burger. Both were delicious. I found it to be reasonably priced - around £40 for two main meals, one side and two drinks (large wine and cola). I found the atmosphere to be relaxing and certainly suitable for a casual evening meal, If you are looking to impress however, I'd suggest looking a little more upmarket. Overall, I couldn't fault the food, service or atmosphere for the night.

Catch up with a friend. Food was lovely. I eat halal but the vegetarian and vegan options looked tempting. Went for a halloumi burger with chips - amazing flavour. Chips were light and, fluffy and crisp. Yum. Food ordered at the table and paid for individually which was easy. Got a cheeky Monday deal- desert was free and diiviine choc sundae. Waiter was lovely checking on us and food. I've been twice now and would definitely come again. Oh and there's 2 hour free parking in the car park right behind.

We have been here on 3 occasions and the food has been excellent every time. Would highly recommend.

Stopped in for a cheeky half after having a free beer sample, really nice atmosphere and super friendly staff. Freya was especially lovely!

We come here all the time and the food is consistently amazing and the staff are always really lovely. They have a huge gluten free menu that I am slowly working my way through but everything I’ve tried I have liked.

Sincerely, the food was incredible! Have been for meals in the West End of London that could not compare to the food we was served this evening. The service was impeccable and the girls who served me & the wife was fantastic especially Frea Legitimately recommended if you want great service and even better food.

They also provided little surprises for us and made us feel so welcome. The entire group I was with have nothing but immense praise and gratitude for such a wonderful evening.
