Wonderful and welcoming wee cafe within Gracefield Arts, lots of space between tables. Managed to grab a pot of tea, and homemade mint rocky road before it closed. Lots of delicious looking cakes on offer, very good value and affordable prices. Was able to dry off after a downpour, and not rushed. Then was able to visit the exhibition and look around the shop, which was full of lovely local crafts, good quality art cards and gifts

I visited Hubbub with my children. Very friendly staff, a great selection of tray bakes & cakes and the coffee was the best that I have had anywhere locally.

After a look at the art I dropped in for lunch and had an excellent soup and sandwich combo, good coffee and a scone. The staff were friendly and helpful, the food was fresh, in good portions, tasty and service was quick. Good prices and the surroundings are very pleasant with sufficient seating. They could only take cash, however that wasn't too much of a problem at the prices they charge.

Can't fault the lovely pot of tea with enough for 3 large cups accompanied by a peppermint slice, one of a dazzling array of traybakes on offer. However I was glad that I had kept my cup and saucer on the tray before pouring the tea as it was impossible to pour without some of the tea dribbling down into the saucer and tray from the badly designed (yet thankfully not stainless steel) teapot spout. Just to add to the mess the trendy milk jug was a bad pourer as well. Still worth a visit in a nice setting although the Atrs Centre is under review from the local council so it is unclear for how long the cafe will be open.

Sólo nos metimos en aquí para café y pastel, pero da la impresión de que sirven mucho más que eso. Personal amable y un ambiente agradable.

I work within learning disabilities and staff attending a group visit the hubbub café weekly and are very happy with the scone and coffee they have, The staff at then café have become familiar with them and address them by name which is nice and makes them feel relaxed. Well done to all the staff at the café.

We were visiting an exhibition at the Gracefields Art Centre and the cafe is in the same building. Its a hidden gem of a place and run by a lovely team/ Everything was beautifully presented and the Cappuccino set me up for the day! While we didnt eat the menu was creatively different obviously favoured by being in the Arts Centre! Can't really give enough praise.

I frequently visit Café Hubbub, which is a café within the Gracefield Arts Centre, Dumfries. Great to be able to visit the art centre, which has ample car parking, see an exhibition and be able to enjoy a really good lunch in the café. The café staff are friendly and helpful and if asked will cater to your needs. The food is great. Salads, soup, all good and wholesome. My favourite, the egg mayo, oh, and I LOVE the broccoli and stilton soup! I've been in at quiet times, when they are happy for me to sit and crack on with work on a laptop, nursing my latte and busy times when the café is buzzing full of visitors. Again, the staff have been brilliant. If you are looking for good wholesome food, and friendly faces, I'd definitely recommend café Hubbub, all within an art centre, Great! All the Best Café Hubbub!!!!

Went today Wednesday 8th of June been meaning to visit for a while , well I went the wrong day the chef,s attuide was awful , while she took our order she did not listen asked for white bread both orders came with brown . My wife had jacket potato with egg mayo when it arrived looked lovely a massive salad , large jacket but the egg mayo was at least room temp so had been out for a while also no butter but coleslaw lovely , my dad soup and half a sandwich asked for white got brown egg mayo same problem as jacket , I ordered a soup and roll both my soup and my fathers soup was far to peppery and was more a potato and oinion that potato than leek , I also ordered a ham , cheese chutney sandwich on white came brown sent it back it came flung together on white bread using the same filling no butter on sandwich took it back and the chef tried to make out my fault her attitude was awful eventually got my sandwich , this place advertises homemade cakes etc the scones looked awful , the cakes looked bought in , it's very expensive £26.65 for our lunch lots of salad does not make plates look nice it just shows no thought , this place should be a goldmine , the waitress today was lovely always checking if people were ok. Wanting more hot water etc she is a big plus that's why you got two stars not one .

I visit Hubbub very regularly for lunch and the standard of the food is top class! Their menu is exciting with such a variety of options and everything I've had has been absolutely delicious! The staff are so friendly, I love having a chat with them when I go in, and they appear to try their best to acquire to everyone's needs. I would HIGHLY recommend their scones, my fave is the chocolate and ginger!

I always have the soup and sandwich and then a sweet so can't say a lot about the whole menu but what I order, always is so tasty and moorish. One thing that would make a huge difference to the experience would be to have the decor match the style of food. The space is a little clinical.

It deeply saddens to read any bad reviews abt this place. The staff are amazing the food is gorgeous .. I actually was there when a man someone found a hair in their food. The lady that appears to be the cook was so lovely and couldn't do enough to apologise and please them however it appears the person was in for a moan . The hair in question wasn't from the cook as it was long and hers was short I guess some people like to moan. The scones and coffee were delish we will be back. Keep up the hard work

On my first visit the young lady serving couldn't understand why I complained when I saw her push butter onto my plate with HER FINGER! On my second visit I found a hair from the older lady who was making the sandwiches in my lunch, (they don't wear anything on their heads to protect the food!). They won't be getting a third visit!

Decided to have lunch here, maybe expectations were too high. Served by waitress wearing food hygiene gloves, great, except she obviously had , had them on for so long most of her fingers had burst throug the gloves. Our table was dirty , had to,ask for it to be wiped. Cheese used in sandwich was of poor quality. Enjoyed the salad though with the lovely dressing. My wife didn't receive her coffee and we had to ask for it, then it took another 10 mins.

Meryl & Colette, thanks for today's visit. Such a wide selection of tempting goodies and all at amazing prices. Thank goodness it wasn't one of my fast days. Millionaire shortbread with white chocolate was brilliant. Next time I'm in Dumfries I'll be back, well worth a visit.

The good quality of the food is matched by the friendliness of the staff. A rare find: food made on the premises, reasonable prices, and, pleasant surroundings. All-in-all, a great cafe in a lovely venue. Some of the best baking in Scotland.

Been a few times and there are plenty of really interesting options and I must say what I've had so far at Hubbub has been lovely. But, one or two negatives about my recent visit,(which was first thing in the morning) was the condition of the tablecloths. Both myself and my friend felt that they could have had a wipe with a hot soapy cloth and straightened up. This really stood out to us. This is just basics surely. No salt on our table and had to pinch from another, then the next customer had to pinch from our table. This has not deterred our enjoyment however and will return in the very near future.

Picture the scene. You're in a wonderful cafe sitting at a table which is surrounded by lots of original artwork. You're in the Hubbub Cafe, which is part of one of Dumfries's best art venues, the Gracefield Art Centre. I ask the chef if she could recommend something for lunch. After a short wait, for all the food is prepared freshly from local ingredients, my properly baked potato served with haggis and a scrummy whisky and mushroom cream sauce, plus salad, arrived. The salad was then adorned by one of the tastiest dressings I've ever had. It was the chef's invention, honey and mustard with a difference. I can't tell you just how much I enjoyed all of it !My wife had roasted red pepper and vegetables, which were served on hummus on top of some lovely ciabatta. She said it was delicious. If you are looking for somewhere to go for lunch in Dumfries that you know you is always going to provide great food, service and a really friendly, stimulating environment, then look no further than Hubbub. I can also highly recommend its sister restaurant Hullabaloo, which is in the Robert Burn's Centre, right on the Nith, in the heart of Dumfries.

Nothing too much trouble...they had run out of gluten free bread but offered to go out and get some for me. I opted instead for the baked potato and even though the filling I had chosen had run out, the lovely lady made up some more for me. The food was fresh and enjoyable and the staff friendly. Will be returning to try the soups next time.

We enjoyed a delicious lunch at the Hubbub Cafe, served by friendly and efficient staff. The coffee was excellent and the selection of homemade cakes very enticing!Eating places like this that make really good food on the premises and love what they do deserve all our support - make it a day out and see the artwork on display at the Gracefield Arts Centre too.

From the outside, I wasn't really expecting very much. Just a place to pop in and get some coffee and a bite to eat after visiting the Gracefield Arts Centre. I was very impressed to find such a pleasant atmosphere with friendly staff to match! I have food allergies that I have to be careful of and they were more than helpful and patient with me. Very sweet ladies. The tomato spinach soup was delish! I absolutely had to try the chocolate guinness cake and I'm so glad I did! That along with my americano really hit the spot. Was there with friends and everyone very much enjoyed their food and coffee. Would gladly stop in again next time I'm in Dumfries.

Absolutely gutted to find this place had ceased trading, since our last visit in August 22. This hidden gem was part of our journey down south for the past 7 years, after stumbling on it by accident. It offered a hearty meal for a fraction of the price they charge, at a service station

Popped in for a Sunday Guinness to find everyone tucking into ENORMOUS Yorkshire puddings stuffed with braised beef, roast spuds, veg and gravy. We succumbed to the glorious smell of the food and it beat us, hands down, great food, great service. The two girls working in there are gold dust, give them a raise!!

The SWI had our Christmas Meal here this year and pre ordered. I had the turkey and trimmings which was served on a huge platter and three huge slices of turkey. Everything cooked to perfection. I took the apple strudel and ice cream - great ice cream. Everyone enjoyed what they had ordered and a lovely atmosphere, and attentive serving staff who were pleased to see us and cheery.

This cafe has a really distinctive menu for its size with a choice of meat- fish- and plant-based dishes. They were extremely attentive to a very unusual dietary issue which involved them adapting several elements of one of their menu items. Both waiter and chef spoke to me before we settled on a dish. This was all handled in really friendly manner.
