Great food and very nice atmosphere, and our waiter was lovely

Drinks and location was good however food was nothing special

Booked a table intending to get food. When my client arrived he couldn't stay for food in the end he'd to rush off to another meeting. So we just ordered coffees. Had to flag to someone to take an order, when we did it appeared to be the concierge or the floor manager at the time. When we gave the order he responded with "you booked a table for coffees". It was awkward. Then at the end we asked two seperate people for the bill. Didn't order food so not sure what it's like. Who ever the floor manager in the suit was on this day, he was rude.

Service was pretty disappointing and poor. We waited almost an hour for our first drinks to arrive and to even be able to order our meal whilst everyone else who joined after us were served swiftly and ahead of us. When our drinks did come, the order was wrong. Not the normal service I’ve received here before.

Food OK but not many vegan alternatives offered. Service was very slow.

Had a lovely evening meal and a couple of breakfasts during our stay at the hotel. The staff were always friendly and very helpful. The food was of a very high standard and good value for money. Really enjoyed the relaxed, calm but welcoming atmosphere.

Really enjoyed visiting the new restaurant at Hoxton Holborn. The food was exquisite - perfectly cooked - and a real treat. Friendly service - can't wait to return!

Many covid restrictions have now been lifted, so annoying that Menus (drinks and food) are still accessed of an App - it really ruins any ambience, this is supposed to be Wetherspoons. The menu doesn’t seem to change so why can’t we have just have a few printed out bit of paper?

We understood we had booked to attend the Marlow experience but when we arrived we found out we had booked for the standard menu only. The standard menu was very disappointing, the service was okay, obviously the booking service was very complicated leading to errors.

Very good venue. Service is great and there is a good choice of drink. However more vegetarian options wouldn't hurt (only 1 veggie option for dinner when we went)

Arrived at 9.30am and there was only 2 other tables with people. Even then I had to ask a couple of times for service. Breakfast menu is pretty limited although food was perfectly nice and came quickly. However no orange juice and they didn't do smoothies so very limited drinks option. The tea we ordered never arrived and had to ask again. Had to ask for the bill 3 times. I had a lunch booked here in a few weeks time and have since cancelled.

Food was embarrassing bad. Took partner for 50th birthday dinner with some friends. Huge mistake. Awful food. No compensation offered for having to send back one inedible plate... coffees never arrived etc etc... Such a shame.

Always get a warm welcome, even at 7.30am for breakfast. Great hotel for relaxing and chilling out. They have combined an air of informality that is so refreshing from the other rather stuffy hotels in London. Very professional staff, who work hard at meeting your needs however small. Overall, a great experience from Hoxton Hotel. I love it here, and recommend it to all my family and friends.

The restaurant had a lovely atmosphere, but unfortunately I wasn’t too impressed with the food. I had the pig cheeks that cane with very oily, cold croutons and the lamb, which was overcooked so that the meat was too hard. The garlic potatoes were also too hard - not just crispy as they should have been. I didn’t complain because I didn’t want to spoil the dinner for my husband. He felt the same about the croutons, but did like his veal dinner. The staff were very kind.

My starter of mackerel had a piece of throat sized spine bone in it that could have choked me. I reported it and was told the dish was supposed to be on the bone. The menu did not mention that and it seemed clear to me this was BS but I stupidly did not ask to see the manager as I have a business lunch and I wanted to concentrate on that. Not impressed with the food but the reaction to the issue was very poor. It was a shame as the rabbit pie was very good. They need more vegetables on the menu as buttered runner beans is not a very healthy option. How hard is it to offer steamed broccoli!

Service was impeccable - very friendly and attentive. The portion sizes were generous and everything we had was delicious. The braised squid starter and the braised lamb main in particular deserve a special mention. Also move the decor and ambience despite it being a quiet night.

What a lovely space, very comfortable. Great wines, lots by the glass. The food was perfectly cooked, and very generous portions. The restaurant stands alone, great work Hoxton Hotels. We will be back.

A wonderful breakfast experience! The warmest of welcomes and great service throughout my visit. Food was fresh, plentiful and really tasty! Great coffee too - although the cups could have been bigger :) Would highly recommend and will definitely be back - thank you.

I have to admit, I am a very shy person when it comes to meeting new people, even if it is just introducing myself or asking for assistance. But, I was able to get the help and comfort needed from a particular member of staff named Salwa. She approached me with a friendly attitude and offered great hospitality. On top of that, the food was enjoyable and I can't say I have any complaints yet!

Came here for a quick bite to eat and a informal business meeting. The place is nice and bright and open with very high ceilings. It made a great atmosphere and didnt make you feel cramped in. It was very busy and full to every seat.A very different menu with many known dishes with a little twist. I had the pumpkin tortelini with a side of chips woth truffle oil. It was delicious. Could have done with a bigger portion but thats just me.Everyones plate was very well decorated but the taste was better then the decoration which is the most important thing.

Each time we ate at the restaurant we had good service from friendly servers...we were sure to ask their names and created relationships with them over those days which added to the fun and service. Christmas dinner was wonderful, especially brussel sprout leaves!! Breakfasts, afternoon beverages and dinners there were all great. Martina, Veronica were great, chefs very friendly...we totally enjoyed each meal. Recommend spending a meal there !

We had their Christmas dinner, which itself wasn't terrible, but the service made the whole experience mediocre at best. To top it off, it was my boyfriend's birthday (unfortunate that it falls on Christmas), which made a day that was supposed to be special, far from it.First of all, we were not served the amuse bouche that was listed on the Christmas menu, so when we asked a server, he said that we only have the choice of either the amuse bouche or a starter, of which is not listed on the menu (attached to this review). I understand if that is how it is, but I wish this was listed specifically on the menu.Second, I was served my main course, but my boyfriend did not. We waited 15 minutes and asked a server where his food was - another 15 minutes later he finally received it. Apparently someone had taken his food to another table, but how is that even possible? And how did none of the staff notice that one person was missing his food?By this time, my food was already stone cold. We did get a glass of sparkling wine and fries on the house, which was a nice gesture, but alas, my boyfriend does not drink alcohol - if they were going to give another drink, I wish they had asked his preferences. Finally, the dessert. My boyfriend is allergic to egg and dairy, but all of the dessert options on the menu included them. However, they did not even try to find a replacement - not even a fruit plate, and we were charged for a dessert that was not served. For a restaurant in a hotel, I had thought they could have at least tried to procure something. Especially since the price was not cheap - £65, I really had expected more. When we were leaving, the servers had the audacity to ask if our experience was good - as if they had forgotten the whole debacle (which they probably did).Maybe my experience was unique to the Christmas dinner, when it is prone to being understaffed, and I don't blame the individual servers, but nonetheless this experience was disappointing.

Decided to stop in for a hot drink (breakfast tea and an Americano) Service was just OK, nothing outstanding to be honest, had to keep on giving eye contact to get them to see us! Felt their hot beverages were very pricey for what they were and even looking at the menu, a cheese toasty was £10! They slapped on a service charge even though we only had 2 hot drinks. Never seen that before with just 2 people attending, so at £7 later, we left!

Es ist immer sehr gut besucht durch die vielen Gäste in der Lobby und aus dem Hotel, dadurch ist es etwas laut. Die Küche ist wirklich gut und man sieht durch die offene Anrichte, wie die Gerichte zubereitet werden. Für ein Mittagessen absolut ok. Preise sind im Vergleich eher mittel bis hoch.

Have been to Hubbard & Bell several times and always enjoy it. Great atmosphere, a real buzz about the place, yet you can still have a conversation without needing to shout over the music - hard to get right! Last night I had the Malbec, the beef short rib and the sticky toffee desert - all excellent. Staff were busy but the service was good. Will definitely be returning

Great Sunday roast and looks lovely inside however I wasn’t happy with the customer service. Me and my friend don’t eat beef and when trying to tell the waiter it seemed he did not understand and I had to repeat it several times. Even when the food came I had to check, they gave us beef gravy when I specifically said no beef so luckily I had doubled checked I did not feel confident! Which was a shame because I enjoyed the food!! For those who have an allergy be careful!

I saw this spot as I was passing by, it is a huge cafe bar, there are separate areas to dine, they make great breakfast.

Having stayed at the Hoxton Hotel we dined at Hubbard and Bell for breakfast, which is on the ground floor. The menu is not vast, however includes all the right dishes. Coffee is very good and service equally as good. Well spaced out and nice relaxed atmosphere.

I had one of the worst evening ever because of the awful service. Me and my friend went there for a couple of drinks, and it was relatively busy. The water literally threw one or the glasses on the table, and gave the most blunt apologies. When we ordered the second round of drinks we had to wait for over half an hour. We then ordered a third one with some chips, and another waiter took them away while we were still eating them! We wanted to order a last round but the waiter decided to give us the bill. Also we did not understand how the first 2 glasses of Prosecco were £16.88 the second round £22 and the last one £15

Menú limitado y porciones pequeñas, pagó casi 20 por 3 piezas de ravioles, sí, ¡solo 3 ravioles en el plato! No hay suficiente condimento, muy poco sabor. Me sentí engañado y todavía hambriento, tuve que ir a Sainsbury's y comprar un sándwich para llenarme después. El servicio era deficiente, el camarero tuvo que regresar para informarnos que los artículos no estaban disponibles, no trajeron los cubiertos correctos para la pasta, el café fue lento y llegó frío. Se preguntaban por qué no daba propina. Sobrevalorado masivamente, evita este lugar.

The food here is always so good and the service is great but what I enjoy the most is the atmosphere and the decor

Nos alojamos en el Hoxton Holborn, que es donde se encuentra Hubbard y Bell. Comimos un par de desayunos aquí, así como también tomamos algunas copas de noche. El restaurante siempre está lleno, no está lleno, pero está lleno. Creo que el wifi gratuito y las grandes áreas de descanso atraen a muchos técnicos de la zona. El menú del desayuno es algo limitado, pero la comida es muy buena. Teníamos el aguacate, que es puré de aguacate en pan tostado de masa fermentada con un huevo escalfado en la parte superior y un bagel, queso crema y queso y huevos revueltos. Todos los platos estaban muy bien hechos. El menú de bebidas para tomar una copa nocturna enumera una serie de bebidas innovadoras, pero después de tomar algunas no recuerdo sus nombres.

Nos alojamos en el hotel, así que comimos aquí para el almuerzo, el desayuno y los cócteles nocturnos. Todos estaban bien con algunos enfoques creativos para el menú, lo que apreciamos (también las opciones sin gluten y vegetarianas). Mi esposo se quejó del lado demasiado grande del tocino, pero sospecho que está solo en esto. Mucho espacio para sentarse y configuraciones interesantes de mesa / sofá / barra.

Bonito lugar, pero no ofrece cenas asadas los domingos. ¡Vinimos de Cambridge cuando anunciaban papas y yorkies sin fondo! Tomamos una copa pero desesperados por un asado, así que terminé yendo a otro lado!

I’ve visited this spot a few times before and have always enjoyed food. We had a couple of issues when we started this time due to a lack of tables - staff seemed unsure of where we could sit that was dog friendly so we sat down in the restaurant and got menus before another waitress moved us on.

We stayed in the hotel and I have done a separate 5 star review for that. We tried to eat in this restaurant but ended up going elsewhere. We booked a table for 3pm as on the website it said they did Sunday lunch. On arrival at our table we were given a very limited brunch menu with little on it we wanted. We called a waiter over and asked where the Sunday lunch menu was to be told they had stopped doing it last week. We pointed out that the website unhelpfully said something different. We decide to have something from the Brunch menu as we were short for time. I asked for the ravioli only to be told they didn’t have any left! At that point we decided to go somewhere else! Having looked at both the lunch and dinner menus they are both better than the brunch one so not sure why we couldn’t be offered food from there given it was gone 3pm and after what I think most people consider brunch to be. A shame really as we have enjoyed our stay but this experience put us off having breakfast the next morning too and we again went somewhere else.

Came in for a group dinner, very good! Loved the fresh takes on British fare. The goat tartare was a great started. The British cheese plate had so many buttery and creamy varieties. I loved my chicken and corn dish. The corn was sooooooo good. Sweet yet still had a pop of crunch. Loved it! I would definitely come back. We had a group of 8 of us and we got to sit fairly quickly without a reservation, but I would definitely recommend one since the place is quite bustling!

I've calmed down so able to write a more balanced review and a bit of an update to my interactions below is that I saw a pretty aggressive manager type individual being quite pushy with staff.

Very enjoyable, great spot for lunch. We wend on a weekend and its only a brunch menu then so be warned, but it was excellent none the less. I had steak and fries and shared a large mac n' cheese with my friend. Both delicious. I always dread restaurants being busy and noisy, this was neither thankfully and the service was just right! Will be going back.

Had the Sunday Roast and it was so good! Free "refills" on Yorkshires and potatoes which we naturally took advantage of. Waitress was very lovely and asked if we'd like more instead of waiting for us to ask ourselves. Prices are very "London" prices of course but we felt it was worth it!

I caught up with a friend around 2.30 PM for a late lunch. My friend had made a booking and I arrived first to a smooth and friendly seating. We each chose same two items for the 2-course lunch set: lamb croquettes as starters and black truffle raviolis as mains. The lamb croquettes arrived first but only one plate of 3 croquettes which seemed odd and not right for sharing an odd number. Should there have been a second plate? Yes, that was the case so another server brought us extra plates to start sharing the one plate of starter lamb croquettes which were delicious. Eventually the second plate or lamb croquettes arrived. It actually worked out fine for us as that meant we each had warm croquettes throughout. After clearing these plates, I think a server also cleared away my friend's silverware, but not mine. Maybe the server thought my friend needed clean silverware for the main and I didn't? Anyhow, when the black truffle raviolis arrived, those were also delightful but my friend needed to ask for new cutlery as none had arrived. All in all, great food, but very spotty service. The mailer server and the blonder lady were very friendly and efficient. But the darker haired female server seemed as if she was having a difficult day as her actions of only seemingly placing in a single order of starters for 2 people who each ordered the same 2-course sets, taking away used cutlery for only one person and never replacing it, and quite frankly being dismissive or at best begrudgingly offering what seemed a pained smile. Just odd and discomfiting. My friend and I have both worked in casual F&B; as well as the 5 star hotels service industry. This was just eyebrow-raising for both of us. Would we return? Probably yes, we'd try it again. It's fair to give experiences a couple of tries. The rest of the team was spot on and the food was good.
