Hub RWY Plymouth in Plymouth

So sad to hear this restaurant is closing! Our family has enjoyed many birthday celebrations here and we have always been looked after really well. On the last occasion, Matt went above and beyond and it really made for a wonderful evening. The RWY is a very special place with a great atmosphere, so it seemed a perfect place to have a Hubbox. It will be missed!!

We came to Hub Box for my son’s 13th birthday. The experience was exceptional, the whole team were excellent but Matt went above and beyond to make it so enjoyable (and memorable). We were a large group, with some younger children but Matt was calm, relaxed and made sure we had the best time. In truth we always have good service here but this time it was that little bit more special..thank you all.

Excellent service, great burgers and all at a fair price. Really appreciated a good choice of vege/vegan options. However the venue is let down by excessively loud and instrusive music that makes it difficult to order and to have a conversation.

Haven't been to hubbox in years and was surprised to see how small the burgers have become. Also, some of my favourites have gone like the slider tray and burnt end beans. The food was very good but it has changed too much from what it once was. There are now cheaper and better places to get your burger fixes.

No matter how much I comment here, it will be too little for this restaurant. Excellent service, excellent taste, excellent price and performance. It is obvious that they know this job, I would definitely recommend it to everyone. The friend named ED works perfectly, treated us very well and kept us informed. He is a very kind and gentle person. He is a smart and hard-working person who runs the restaurant alone. We thank him very much, I hope he gets the opportunity to work in much better places. Thank you for everything, you are perfect! 🥰😊😊😊😊

Ordered a burger and chips fr9m the RWY hub box and inl was blown away with how nice the food was burger was cooked to perfection so juicy and even better was how fresh it tasted cant recommend this place enough

Great burgers and sides and some great drinks all served up by friendly staff. The elderflower cooler is particularly good as is the rum cocktail. All the food was cooked well and arrived in a reasonable time. I would highly recommend eating here.

Popped in for a drink whilst on a dog walk and we’ve just moved to the area. So glad we did. Everyone was lovely and we ended up having some homemade soup and toasted sandwich which was very nice and was very reasonably priced. They were very welcoming and the place was warm which was nice, I’ve noticed some places I’ve been to recently have been a little chilly. Toilets are nice and clean. Will definitely be a favourite for good reasonably priced food with great service now we live nearby.

Best burger you are ever going to get. Service with a sense of humour to boot. Loved it.

Lunch deal... Dont do it. The burger was appalling and less than half the size of the burgers served to everyone else.

Had an amazing lunch, the burgers are massive and extremely tasty, the wife had the big cheese and I had bacon double cheeseburger. The fries was amazing. The staff was very attentive and welcoming, the restaurant looks stunning inside, with great views of the harbour. I would highly recommend this place for couples or family, price wise is about right for the location and portion size.

Just had drinks but were given a £4.99 service charge (which we declined) and had half a Madri added to our bill which we didn't have - be warned, check your bill!

Our local restaurant for incredible burgers. The restaurant’s location in the historic Melville building adds a unique charm, blending modern and industrial elements to create a welcoming atmosphere. The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the All Star Burger. A perfect blend of flavors and textures, with a juicy patty, delicious toppings, and just the right amount of sauce. Accompanying the meal, I always opt for the Orchard Pig Cider- so good! The cider’s crisp and fruity taste is the perfect complement to the rich flavors of the burger.

Took advantage of the lunchtime deal. Good value. 👍

Really expensive for a burger and have to add fries nearly £20 a meal and then we added onion rings which we so greasy we felt so sick after. a bill of £45 for halloumi burger , chips , meat burger , chips, coke , onion rings and slaw never worth it and wasn’t even that tasty just felt quite sick after from the grease came away feeling like we wasted our money and very deflated as it’s a rare treat for us . On a positive note a good weekday lunch meal deal for exactly what we had today at half the price . Wish we looked around now at someone else to try as soon as they said burger is £15.50 and you have to add £4.95 extra for fries I should of got up and walked out but my partner said it would embarrass him

Very disappointed with our visit today. We have always been happy with the food on previous visits but today we ordered the Chilli cheese dirty fries and the Nacho’s and chicken strips. Like everywhere the price has gone up by £1.50 per portion since the last visit but worst of all the portion has nearly halved in size!! £47.00 for 2 portions of dirty fries, 1 nacho, chicken strips and 3 cokes, sadly no longer worth it.

I had bottomless brunch here for our Xmas do. We had an absolutely fabulous afternoon. food was a amazing, staff were very efficient and welcoming especially leanne who went above and beyond for us . I have never had a bottomless bruch where the drinks come out so quickly. Would highly recommend. I Will definitely be coming here again for another boozy afternoon

Ordered a pick up. Got home, and realised they hadn't put the dips in or the extra bits in the burger that I'd ordered and paid for. Obviously didn't think to check when I was there as shouldn't have to. Kind of ruined the meal and it's just annoying to be honest. Emailed them, and they didn't even apologise which is just strange customer service, just refunded the £3. Won't return.

My waitress who was also the manger was such a wonderful host she was so kind, with such amazing customer service and checked on us regularly and made sure we were happy with the food, she made my 21st birthday a memory I’ll cherish so thank you 💕 The food and drinks were lush will definitely recommend ☺️

We visited Hub for lunch today. We were greeted warmly when we arrived and shown to our seats. Lovely waitress called Holly took our order Food was lovely! We all very much enjoyed our visit here today, but most of all I appreciated the great service!

Nice apart from the fact I was asked to remove my poppy by a waitress who said it musher be offensive to someone. Utter shambles. WTAF.

Raw, raw, raw….raw I’m Cough and they feed me this…raw…woah my belly rates this 0/5 gave me pink bits that made them unsure raw

This is by far the worst place I have ever eaten. We were a party of 7. Firstly, my husband asked for a brand of non alcoholic beer that was on the menu, they didnt have it but suggested another. This was the start of a incredibly disappointing dining experience: One of our party asked for the lobster roll, no lobster, it continued, everything we asked for wasn't available ie no half chicken, no mackerel, no sole in a roll. Chips were served out of a large stainless steel bowl we could see on the serving hatch, which we had previously seen as we arrived being filled with some chips from another table that had been left over! Then desert: no cream tea icecream, no knickerbocker glory. The waiter said he would make one up, it was inedible with hard frozen strawberries and liquid icecream (because there was a fault with their ice cream maker apparently) The most disgusting substance, apparently cream, topped this abomination. We ordered Irish coffee, this was incredible not in a good way, it came in a PINT GLASS, with cold coffee , watery cream and no alcohol content. The evening was laughable, this is not a restaurant, it's a rip off joke. They have no stock in, needs shutting down.

Went for breakfast and it was delicious, highly recommend. Nice variety of dishes and good coffee. Service was very welcoming and friendly, checked in on us but not too much so it felt very relaxed and not like we were being rushed out he door which you can get in some restaurants

I've visited Hubbox for years, but this is the first time visiting the Hub. I really like the new concept which feels much more like a dining experience instead of fast food. The food is always great from these guys and of course I had to get the OG, the big Kahuna. The service was great and the food arrived very fast. To top it off, Verdant on draught!

Ordered just under £40 worth of food. One was a burger with a Gluten free Bun. They sent this without the bun in a wrap. Less than 1 patty in the wrap and nearly empty. Tried calling also left a voicemail but nothing. Used a third party to order from. Requested a refund for the £12 odd burger but was only able to get £2 back for the bun. By this point the whole meal is cold and worthless. Very disappointed not sure if under new management as it used to be a good easy place to go.

Been going to Hub Box for many years and now called Hub. Sitting here at the moment hoped it had realised how bad it had become and changed back to the Hub Box. Sadly this is not the case. Lack of choice for sides. Poor selection of foods. Even the little things like sauce selection are different. Find it hard to disagree with another review. The HO of Hub need to be removed for such as terrible change. No doubt they will "listen to feedback". Shame because the staff that have been here over the last fews years and at the old location are some of the best and they have been let down. Perhaps its a symbol of the way society is going these days. Explains the profanity from what i think was a customer chatting to a staff member. Never heard that in there before. Oh and slaw.. why? Who actually asked for that! More of just "stuff" they can add to the plate cheaply to make it look like you are getting more for your buck. Would like to think they look at what gets thrown into the bin to get an idea of what the customer wants if they dotn wnat to listern. Hub Box set a high a standard but once you get there it is difficult to maintain. End of an established restaurant and Hub is what's left.

Everything was fine until receiving the bill. They automatically add a service charge into the final bill. When you look at the itemisation, they have “service charge” as optional but it’s already included in the bill, they don’t mention it either, so you then have to ask them to remove it… They do this on purpose and it’s disgusting. If the service is great, I’ll tip. If it’s average, then why am I paying someone a tip to do their job? I tip all the time but that’s when the service is great, not just… someone doing their job. It’s like going to Starbucks and them adding a service charge for servicing you a coffee, it’s ridiculous and enough for me not to come here again. Also, their menu has changed massively from the old hub box. We won’t eat here again. Please stop charging a service charge, it’s supposed to be at the customers discretion.

Lovely experience! The staff were lovely, food was nuts and the cocktails were worth the money. I wish I could name the staff a young chap from Essex and lass with blonde hair served me and my family and were brilliant!

I had a fantastic burger from Hub today, but what really stuck with me was the incredible service and the staff. Lewis was especially thoughtful - after discovering I was staying locally and awaiting some bad news within the family, he expressed sympathy and kindness that was very welcome in that moment. Awesome food and an awesome team.

Came in today to celebrate my birthday. Being Coeliac I am always concerned about eating out but I have to say that you guys went above and beyond to cater for me. There was a excellent choice of GF food for me and it was great to have a milkshake with out any worry! The staff handled my food separately from everyone else and really took care of me! Will definitely recommend to others in the GF community and be back soon for another visit. Thank you

Great place. Vegan and gluten free options on the menu. Dog friendly, relaxed but fun atmosphere. Staff were lovely.

Not sure what has happened but since the rebrand to Hub it has gone Marjory downhill. As a whole it seems the quality of the food has dropped. The burger I had though it tasted good was really greasy, the same thing could be said for the fries and why were they so extremely salty. My girlfriend is Coeliac and her gluten free burger was dry and flavourless not to mention the new menu being much more restrictive for her, previously hubbox had been one of the restaurants we frequented regularly as it is one of the few who catered to her. I get that they want to play on the whole being by the sea and bringing in the seafood like the St Ives location but this should not have meant the rest the what was a great menu should suffer. Hubbox has a really great atmosphere and the drinks have always been great, so it is sad to say we won’t be returning anytime soon, at least not to the sites by the sea.

Great location. Curtious staff. We enjoyed our coffees, lovely lemonade 🍋, milkshake was a bit too sweet. We enjoyed our light bites Wednesday specials. Very good toilets too...

Iv been to hub restaurants in St ives and Truro, and I personally think the Plymouth hub restraunt is lacking compared to their sister hubs. Food just want there for us, was 4 of us eating and nearly all meals were over cooked.

Excellent place, good atmosphere. Service with good advice and good humor. Clean place. Reasonable price. I recommend 😉

Never a bad experience here this was my 4th time visiting tonight and the service is amazing, lovely friendly welcoming staff and the most amazing burgers, brilliant atmosphere. Would recommend to everyone. Fantastic xx

Sadly, the menu has completely changed and it looks like the place has been taken over by someone else or simply rebranded. RIP, Hub Box. The food was amazing and unique before, but now it looks as bad as Wetherspoons. Generic, bland and boring, with bad reviews beginning to pour in. Should have kept things as they were. It was one of my favourite places to eat, but I wouldn't even buy the chips now. They look disgusting. Also, come on people. If you're taking photos of food, turn off your phone filters. 🙄

Had such a lovely lunch at Hub. The staff are super friendly, very accommodating to our 2 children and 2 dogs. Food was really tasty and fairly priced. Thank you Hub!

Genuinely shocked at the current rating. Went yesterday evening, despite having a good number of staff and it not being very busy, the service was appalling. Our drinks were sat on the bar for 10 mins before my friend went and got them herself. Then there's the food...I asked it the burgers were thick - was told yes - they are not thick at all. The gluten free bun was the dryest most disgusting thing I've ever had and completely ruined the burger. This is not hard to get right so its pathetic really. Get a new supplier or dont bother offering gluten free. Then there's the chips - dry, cardboard-like texture, like they had been sat under a lamp for a good hour or so. The "slaw" was also just shredded cabbage with mayo on and pretty disgusting. All in all, i feel robbed of £20. Wont be back.

Terrible burger - dry, flavourless, and three tiny, fatty, end bits of bacon, nowhere near enough cheese, I could have made a better burger in my sleep. No offer of sauces, had to go and bring our own drinks to the table.

came here today and was pleasantly surprised by one waiter named Joe who served me and my family. possibly the best waiter i have ever been served by and i think he definitely deserved a raise.

Very good food, dog friendly and staff so welcoming. We had the gluten free bun and it was very tasty, we were not made to feel like an inconvenience. Staff were so good with the dog, offered water and a table with space for him to sit.

Very quiet lunch time owing to horrendous weather. Waiters were very attentive and polite and vary careful with my coeliac friend to ensure no contamination when I asked for bread with my mussels. Very much appreciated, thank you

We rolled in with 5 minutes to spare until the kitchen closed. They were happy to feed us. Food was great and so were the drinks and the atmosphere.

Our host was Grace who was awesome with our Little Girls. Overall the food was excellent and the new Menu top class. Good mix of classic Hub burgers and amazing local foods. Great vibe and atmosphere of a restaurant where people care and work well together ❤️

Really disappointed in the recent change in menu. Me and my partner frequently have eaten at Hubbox and even with the change to Hub RWY the food and service was always so amazing. We went for breakfast this morning and it felt like somewhere completely different the menu is now dull and just like every other restaurant. No individuality and frankly the breakfast menu could have been any cafe nothing unique at all. The service for an empty restaurant was also surprising asked for condiments that were never delivered, undercooked jelly white egg yolks in the Shakshuka just a real disappointment all round. Hubbox wasn’t broken and certainly didn’t need fixing the dirty breakfast fries are one of the best dishes I’ve ever had, it’s a real shame that they have conformed to the basic surroundings of the Royal William Yard offering glorified fish and chips.

Ordered via Uber eats. Took ages to arrive. Burgers were dry and my one had no sauce. No option to have no bun for people who can't eat bread. Burger was tasteless too. Paid £4 for a portion of chips and it was tiny! Won't be ordering again, disgusting for £40 for 2 burgers and one side!

We went to the Hub tonight for the first time and it wont be the last, food and service were excellent, there was also a live singer on tonight who we thought was excellent too, all round a great night 😊

New menu is great. Local fresh fish. Monkfish skewers and sole in a roll excellent. Coffee decent too.

Greeted by very happy and charming staff member, Lewis, which makes a good start. We were able to sit anywhere we wanted and picked the half booth corner table. Lovely choice of drinks and we had an 'Hub Colada' and a Seaside Sling. We both had the dirty dicso burger but we came here because my partner was able to have a proper GF burger as opposed to some "burger" places that just remove the bun and call it GF. Along with a side of "Mother Clucker Fries" - Skin-on fries with buttermilk-fried chicken, cheese sauce, sour cream, Korean BBQ sauce and coriander Couldn't have made it any better. Compliments to the staff and chefs

Absolutely amazing. Lewis, our waiter, was so genuine, kind and attentive. He really made our evening that extra special. The food was lush as well, with plenty of delicious vegan options for my wife.

Slow, took 15mins to place order, another 10 to get drinks and another 15 to get food. Food prepared and plated up with a bare greasy hand and sometimes tongs! Bill was wrong and took forever to get attention to get bill

Visited this place for a second time. Helpful menu and staff for a gluten free and dairy free options. Disappointed they no longer stock Peroni's gluten free beer and the only option is a canned gf beer with peach! Very sweet, and nothing like a beer. Likely to not return for this reason, and also music very loud, making difficult to hold conversations across the table. Shame

Decent food, burgers could be a bit bigger so order a double if you're hungry. Fantastic service from the person serving us. Can't remember their name but, long hair, hat and jeans. Would definitely come here again.

I had been to Hub box before many years ago when it was located in the city centre and it made enough of an impression that I sought it out being in town for work. The Staff were friendly and attentive without being obtrusive. I opted for the Special which was the Franco burger with the skin on fries. The food was amazing, the fries were delicious with the smokey bbq dip. The Franco burger was top notch, cheesy with pest/mayo and Ragu, delicious. I hope I will have the opportunity to dine there again soon.

Delicious food at a reasonable price. The food was presented nicely and had character/soul, not like some of the food served these days in the bigger chains. Friendly and attentive service too. Update: today had their Cornish breakfast, the best I've had, 10/10. Very flavoursome and good variety.

Absolutely brilliant service from Logan and the other young chap who's name I didn't get. Very fast and friendly. Food was exceptional. Couldn't eat it all there was so much. Well worth the money. The atmosphere was great and I felt welcomed and not judged. We will definitely be returning.

The manager and staff were very attentive but it was a quiet time of the week and therefore the atmosphere was perhaps a little lacking. Food was good, especially the onion rings.

Love this hub box - I’ve been to the ones in truro and Pentewan but this is my favourite. Consistent staff and consistently good food went for my boyfriends birthday and were very attentive and gave him a free dessert.

James served us, amazing service and by far the best burger 🍔 we have had. Portions size were brilliant, chips top notch, and onion rings I am fussy with, but they were fantastic. Definitely be back.

Nice burgers, good location but disappointing they're not doing local craft beers any more. Service was slow on our visit but this was probably because they didn't anticipate it would be so busy on a Tuesday night.

Never experienced such bad service, ever!! We walked in hubbox tonight, place was empty apart from one other family. Nobody greeted us so we found our own table. We were completely ignored by the staff for about 20 minutes. We managed to get the attention of a staff member who chucked menus down on our table. They pointed aggressively at them stating food menu, drink menu and just walked away. We then continued to be ignored whilst the staff stood and chatted. We were so angry we got up and just walked out as we were so hungry. However every cloud! As we walked across the road to the seco lounge where the service and food were fantastic. I dont know who owns hubbox but you need to sort your customer service out. Have eaten over the years at your Truro restaurant and also when your were situated in Plymouth city centre. I dont know what has happened since but will not be returning!!

We visited this evening and the staff were super lovely & food was great. Nice cosy vibe, lush cocktails!!
