Just our favourite place, have been here more times than I can count, have brought all my family and friends and recommend it whenever i can, the most delicious food, big variety on the menu, loads of sides options and the most friendly and helpful staff you could find anywhere! Love the tater-tots and I’m a big fan of the veggie options! Have eaten in and taken away here and it’s always great! Thank you!!

First time visiting Hub box for a spot of lunch in the Bay. Plenty of tables, family and dog friendly. burgers, chicken, diner style menu. Ordered all star burger, chilli fries, and kids burger. Freshly grilled and delicious. Lunchtime and kids meals offers so great for families. Service was good. Enjoyed our meal.

Visited here before watching a show at Glee Club as it’s pretty much next door! Really decent burgers, they had an NYC Deli special on which I had to go for! The chip portions were huge, definitely left feeling full! Staff were really friendly & helpful, plenty of good beers on tap too!

Ordered on dliveroo order cane.grabbed the bottom of the bag and it was dripping wet though was the bit strange open the bag up and the bottom was swimming in cooking grease.the chicken wing were wet the batter was fall off how wet they were and the grease went all over the over food.

Tasty burger. Onion rings are colossal although the batter was a bit bland. Would go again.

First visit here.....and didn't disappoint. Food was really good and good portions. We ordered way too much really but ploughed into as much as we could. The staff were chatty and helpful and the service was nice and quick even though it was busy. Would recommend to anyone who likes burgers and dirty fries to give it a go....just don't order everything at once like we did....lol

Service from John and the staff always friendly, helpful and accommodating. The coeliac/gluten free fish and chips is my wife's favourite and the portions certainly cater for those with an appetite. Prices maybe a little more expensive than other restaurants but if the experience and food is excellent it's worth it. We'll be going back very soon to enjoy the food all over again.

Amazing food and top notch service from the staff. Even though it was incredible busy they staff were very attentive and friendly cannot recommend them enough!

We had delicious food and drinks here, the waffle fries and milkshakes were especially good. The service was great! We did the pub quiz which they run every Tuesday. John was a great host and we had a fun evening!

Ordered a takeaway and was really impressed. We had some questions about the food so called the restaurant to ask, the person who answered the phone didn't know the answers but managed to find out within a few mins and they had a helpful and can do attitude. The food then arrived and it was really nice and a decent quantity as well. To top it off it came in packaging that's compostable.

Came on a Saturday after the wales vs South African match. Place was empty except for our table. Burger was extremely vinegary and inedible. Will not come back. Price was mental for the service / food we received.

Delicious, beautifully prepared food, friendly, generous and attentive staff, relaxed atmosphere but more importantly, the normalisation of gluten free options. Highly recommend.

The food was lovely. The burgers were great, and the other half had the vegan chicken burger that looked lovey. Great milkshakes, nice cup of tea, and the Coke Zero were nice and cold, and they give you a big bottle of cold water as well

Hub box is probably the main reason we choose to come to Cardiff bay from London. The food is incredible and staff are look after you so well especially Daisy who has been our waitress a couple times now who always make sure our visit is amazing.

Best burgers in Cardiff. Plenty of veggie/vegan and GF options. Dog friendly to all size dogs, very accommodating.

Considering it was an ad-hoc visit in half term…it couldn’t have been better! John was a superstar, sorted out a table and was amazing with everything, mindful of the kids, paid attention and gave great recommendations! The food was brilliant as well, turns out they source from independent butchers/providers for all of their ingredients and you could really tell! Will absolutely be returning soon for more! Thanks again John and the team!

Absolutely wonderful and delicious experience! We spent so long in the Cardiff Bay Area looking for a place to sit on a busy Sunday night — this restaurant had the perfect waiting time: we were promised a table within 20 minutes and right then they gave us a place to sit! Very kind and considerate service, very polite staff and friendly environment. Excellent music, too! The food was great, excellently served and well-priced. We had a wonderful time and a very filling meal! Very good place.

Amazing food and sides. Huge tasty milkshake as well. John and laura were lovely and friendly throughout as well and actually had a nice chat rather than being straight business and no personality.

A lovely place, great burgers & beer. The beers so good that after a few I forgot to ask for a vat receipt. But gladly, after emailing them they soon provided me with one, very grateful.

First visit and it won't be our last. Lovely atmosphere, pleasant, friendly staff, and we really enjoyed the food. The food was served hot, fresh and of high standard, and tasty. We can't wait until our next visit.

The burger was overcooked literally burnt. They didn’t care, even if noticed. They added on the bill.

Really nice food maybe a bit too much sauce but that's a personal preference. The staff were really nice and friendly. The milkshakes are really nice but do use malt so watch out if you're intolerant to that.

Went for food today with my son and it was fantastic. The staff were so helpful nothing was too much trouble.and the food and drink were amazing. I wanted a cocktail but didn't know which one the server recommended english garden.so good I had 2.

Unfortunately this time the gas was not working Sunday so couldn’t get a burger 😢 but this is the only burger place I will go to, so when I’m in wales next time

visited 26/8/24 everything was delicious from milkshake to burgers. onion rings were the best weve ever had and great value. note to self they have a lunch offer £10 burger chips and drink mon-fri lunch til 5pm

Best burger I have had in years. Thin patties, so crispy edges but still really juicy. The sweet potato fries and Mac& cheese we had as fries were really tasty and a generous portion. The strawberry cooler was also great. The staff were friendly, attentive and helpful. We went at 5pm when it was fairly quiet so food came quickly. Nice decor, and a relaxed, informal atmosphere. Would go here again!!

An amazing friendly team with amazing food. The Parmesan Garlic Fries are to die for and really make any burger extra special. I really recommend this restaurant and look forward to returning soon.

the mayonnaise was seriously good

The mayonnaise was remarkably exquisite (seriously good, one could say) , and for once, the Coca-Cola possessed a purity unmarred by any trace of chlorinated aftertaste. Furthermore, the children's menu transcended mere sustenance, serving as an elevated form of entertainment, though its fragility remains a point of concern. The entirety of the dining experience was nothing short of exceptional, characterized by a remarkable confluence of culinary artistry, impeccable service, and an ambiance that resonated with refined elegance.

The Mayonnaise is seriously good

Very welcoming and cosy, the food was better than expected and while there are improvement to be made, the entire experience was great. There was also a slight problem which but we didn't mind losing 2 pound over, but one of us got skin-on fries instead of the cheese & garlic and they didn't just give us a £2 discount but a £13 discount over a small infraction which we are extremely appreciative of. Service was the best part of the resteraunt.

Me and my girlfriend went there today for a check bite to eat we got 2 cheeseburgers and chips and the burgers where to die 100% recommend the burger sauce as well

Easy going place for a bite of food. Child-friendly restaurant with a good choice of kid’s menu.

Booked and glad we did as extremely busy. Greeted warmly and seated outdoors at our request. Menu was inviting and varied but always dismayed when you have to pay an extra £5 to have chips with a burger costing you £13! Food was very tasty but the chilli bowl - what on earth?! That had to be the smallest bowl of chilli we’d ever seen, I’ve had bigger starter dishes. At £16, we still had to order sides and thankfully another guest left half his main or husband would have still been hungry! Overall, food overpriced but to be expected on the Bay. Portions were questionable but what we did have was cooked well and very tasty. Not sure we’d come back though as can get much better in the city centre.

The food was okay. Not amazing but hot and cooked acceptably. Had a club burger with waffle fries. Service was good. Nothing made the place stand out from anywhere else. Would return.

Staff really good, remembered me from earlier visit. Fish and chips was the best I've had for a long while and it's one of my go to meals when working away.

The food was unreal!! I’m not usually a huge fan of burgers but the chicken burger I ordered was so lovely, I would definitely return. My friend and I also ordered dirty fries on the side to share of which there were too many to finish but which were also very good! Relatively quiet but staff were friendly!

Can't get enough of the Oklahoma smash burgers. Always hot, fresh and tasty. We like John the manager too! He and the rest of the staff are super nice, attentive and hard working!

Very, very average. Burgers were on the small side, which for £11-12 a go isnt great. Add in fries and youre looking at £15 - £16 for an average burger and fries, and not really any portion of size. Add in that they serve Pravha as their staple lager - brewed in the midlands, never seen in the Czech repubic - and you get the magic sum of....very average.

Amazing smashed burgers at a good price. Skin-on fries were awesome too. Also, music was an acceptable volume. Hub Box really ticked the box for a great lunch at Cardiff Bay!

great cocktails. insaaaane food! staff were absolutely lovely. i'd be visiting here regularly if i was local. only point to make is the burger is served with paper underneath and im personally not a fan as it gets soggy and u end up cutting into it when cutting ur burger. the halloumi fries are massive. all in all worth the money and definitely worth the visit

Amazing staff, food and atmosphere. The manager went out of his way to ensure we were happy and was very attentive. They gave us free food and a free drink as they didn’t have the drink we wanted. Gave a great recommendation to have the elderflower cooler with pear vodka, so tasty! The beef burgers were unreal and the garlic and parmesan waffle fries were insane. The prices of the coolers are so good also and to add alcohol, they’re so cheap. Amazing gluten free options compared to a lot of places. Had such a lovely time, sat outside and the staff were just so so lovely. 10/10, will definitely be coming back often.

Great food, I’d say a little expensive for the size of the burger compared to other places but lovely taste and the sticky toffee pudding was just ok but I might expect too much. The service was good and they (John) helped with a candle for a friend’s birthday which was a great touch to the evening. Much appreciated.

Great place, best burger joint in the Bay. The reason I have given it one less star on the food part is because it isn't on point when you have it to go. Keeping in mind I love two minutes from the restaurant. That's minor though. Editing my review and giving a fiver star for everything. I went today and was welcomed by John. He was wonderful explained how they're very busy and so my order will take an additional 5-10 minutes which I didn't mind but he offered me a drink of choice on the house while I waited which I thought was a really nice touch. This is how you treat your customers if you wish for them to return.

Quite frankly the burgers are nothing special and the service was very slow. Waited 40 mins for two burgers and only 7 tables were occupied. Only good thing is the location

Arrived at hub box and walked in and asked for a table for 3 to be seated and told by a very ott staff member , yes certainly sit down and I'll bring you a menu straight away . Ten minutes later I had to ask another member of staff for some menu's and then ten minutes later managed to place an order and order some drinks at the same time . After another fifteen minutes of patiently waiting for our drinks I had to approach the completely over the top member of staff who had totally forgotten to bring the menu's in the first place to enquire when our drinks were likely to arrive. He then poured the drinks immediately as he'd forgotten to pour them . The big chill burger was very very tasty but very overpriced ( just under £14 for a burger) if you wanted chips with it then it would cost another £4. On the whole it was a very disappointing experience and I won't be returning anytime soon .

So good! To be honest, best burger we have had since moving to Cardiff! We've been there 2 weekends in a row. The burger was hot, fresh and delicious. We sat outside so you'd be hard pressed to give less than a 5 star rating for atmosphere, the interior was well decorated and spacious, with the kitchen located in what looked like a shipping container, I'm guessing that is where the "Hub Box" name comes from. The manager John was very friendly and accommodating as the restaurant was extremely busy and we were without reservations. The food took a bit longer to come out, but it's hard to complain when it arrives and is delicious. Highly recommend and will definitely be our go to burger location.

A wonderful shop! Very friendly staff, the atmosphere is totally relaxed. This is not least due to the choice of music. It could just be a little quieter... Sodas and burgers are outstanding. The burgers may look small at first glance, but two patties will fill you up. Unfortunately I couldn't try any dessert because I couldn't fit any more. Just the thing about the 2 onion rings on the burger... you can leave them out because they just grease the bun and don't taste like anything. Fair prices, great toilet rooms.

Quite easily the best burgers we've ever had!! Definitely recommend the double bacon cheeseburger and the garlic & parmasan fries! Wow. We'll definitely be back - lovely atmosphere, great food and friendly customer service.

Wow..just .. WOW! just been to Hub box in Cardiff bay and the guy informed me the menu is 80/90% gluten free because they only really use gluten free flour. I never go for or like onion rings and these were insane, crispy and so tasty that we had to order more. I went for the big khauna, bbq pulled pork, 2 patties, cheese and onion rings. The only downside for me was fries didn't come with it for the price you pay for the burger you would expect it but one portion was more than enough to share as we ordered as a side. And also dessert option seemed quite poor, only one option gluten free and it's something I'd never order let alone enjoy myself being gluten free. It was well worth the money though! Gluten free bun was exceptional and didn't fall apart! I am stuffed 🥴

The best halloumi burger I have ever had 🤩

DO NOT ORDER DELIVERY. Over 2 hours , called and nobody has any idea or control over the 3rd party delivery drivers. Restaurant couldn’t tell me if any drivers would turn up at all. Couldn’t cancel order, never turned up. Kept in limbo for hours. If you can’t provide delivery then don’t offer it.

The Police, NSYNC, Fall Out boy, Destiny’s child, Spice girls and the OCD quitters. They all probably had their reunions in this restaurant, this place just brings people together. The location, the decor and the great selection of burgers and fries toppings, you can’t help but have a very short lived idea (like a reunion tour) and just go along with it and eventually fizzle out (like Kelly and Michelle’s career).

Staff very friendly and welcoming. Chilli had a lovely kick just how i like it 👊
