Burger was incredible, great price also. Unfortunately the table was sticky and onion rings were tasteless and greasy.

The Police, NSYNC, Fall Out boy, Destiny’s child, Spice girls and the OCD quitters. They all probably had their reunions in this restaurant, this place just brings people together. The location, the decor and the great selection of burgers and fries toppings, you can’t help but have a very short lived idea (like a reunion tour) and just go along with it and eventually fizzle out (like Kelly and Michelle’s career).

It was a splendid dinner experience. Hub box staff were very friendly and the food and drinks (specially the refreshments) were so tasty and well made! The atmosphere by the cardiff bay was so welcoming also. I definitely recommend to go alone or even with family/friends. Keep doing a great work! I'm looking forward to come back someday.

burgers are great, especially the chicken burgers. the milk shakes taste very good. the sides could be more plentiful. however, we ordered a double burger, but got single instead. it wasn’t charged as double though.

Our first visit. It was easy to book, the atmosphere was great and the staff were friendly. Menu was varied and food was delicious. We were really pleased and will be back again the next time we are in Cardiff.

Lovely food, prices have increased, which is understandable. Good service with friendly staff. My son loved the milk shake's. The burgers were very tasty also. Looking forward to visiting again 😊

Amazing service, amazing burgers, such a great dining experience overall. Delicious burgers with great gluten-free options. The sides were really good as well, but don't quite compare favourably to the flavor that similar side dishes from similar competitors. That said, the main things like the burgers are just amazing, and the Ross was just great at making us feel welcome and cared for.

Service was a little slow. It took a while to be seated. They seemed short staffed. The staff were pleasant and apologetic and helpful once we were seated though. Venue appeared to be dog friendly. Food was excellent. My burger was delicious and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Price was reasonable.

Massive portions, great tasting and great quality.

The staff very engaging and welcoming in the restaurant which made for a lovely relaxed atmosphere in my opinion. The food came quick as well and was of good portion size. The dessert I had of salted camel cake was very tasty. Was good value too especially your lunchtime menu. I didn't get the young ladys name who served us but she was very polite and cared about her job. Which was nice to see. Keep the good work👍

Have eaten at Hub Box many times, have always had excellent food and service. However I don’t normally write reviews but felt compelled to on this occasion. Came to click and collect an order, service as usual was great, was informed it wouldn’t be long for my order and the lady was very welcoming. HOWEVER when receiving the order we found that it was completely incorrect, we had ordered two chicken burgers and a cheese burger to which we had been given all beef burgers. Everything was stone cold and the chips were disgusting, the worst chips I’ve ever had anywhere, cold and chewy. I really hope this is a one-off occurence as if I was a first-time customer, on the back of this order I wouldn’t be returning. Utterly disappointing, especially for the price you’re paying. I hate to say it but you’d probably get a better meal at McDonald’s and that’s really saying something.

Dined here with my family a week ago whilst visiting Cardiff. Was a pleasant surprise as we had no idea where we should eat. As soon as we walked through the doors we knew we had made the right choice. The man who greeted us was so friendly and welcoming. Dogs are welcome too. The staff member gave our dog a bowl of water and a dog treat. The food we ordered was delicious and the cocktails were great. The venue was clean and inviting. The staff were all really nice. Would definitely recommend.

Great venue, food and beer was very good. Tad pricey and the music was waaaaay too loud for the time of day and the amount of people in the restaurant. Thanks for having us, will definitely be back.

Very nice food. Local DJ playing outside, gives nice party atmosphere. Portion sizes are good, gave us an extra drink by mistake but didn't charge!

SOO MUCH SALT!! Looks great. Soo much salt literally couldn’t eat it. Everything is just soo salty. The chips, the burger, even the sauce! Kiddies has chicken strips and the one set were lovely but the other was all coating no chicken and still just salt salt salt! Will not be returning. Waste of £65!

Just opposite clubhouse in Cardiff bay, this place definitely does some of the best food in Cardiff! I had the double Swiss, with fries and a milkshake, for a very reasonable £21. The food arrived quickly, the burger was cooked well and had that delicious charcoaled taste. The fries were skin on, with just the right amount is saltiness, and were delicious! To finish it off, the shake was generous, rich, and wonderfully malty, really cutting down on the sweetness, almost like a dessert in itself. Should you be local or visiting, this place is well worth a visit!

Great spot to grab food in the bay, indoor seating has more of a vibe to it but the outdoor seating is nice too. The food was really nice, definitely recommend the cluckin' loaded fries to share or as a side. It's a burger and sides joint with a small menu but everything done really well. Easy to order via QR code or inside at the tills.

Went with the top recommendation from Google and we weren't disappointed. This place is a little gem, set back a little on the bay with great views and a brilliant atmosphere. The service was excellent, friendly and helpful, and the food matched. We will 100% be coming back again and again.

Great value for the portion. Burger and chips were ordered separately however, it was huge portion size and I could have shared sides with someone else. Nachos were amazing too.

Great burger would deffo recommend and go again. Staf were friendly and helpful. Chicken tenders and the mac n cheese went down great. The chips n' cheese and the corn ribs were OK, but would not order again, the corn ribs needed more seasoning as it looked and tasted like they forgot it. The chips and cheese were OK, but run in to the same issue every one has with chips n cheese, and that's using a cheese sauce, this on was very cheesy but as it cools tastes naff. If you're going to do cheesy chips just put mozzarella on them, you can't beat it.

It was super busy yesterday with the weather booming and there was loads of us on 1 table. The food was amazing and piping hot. Staff did a fantastic job. Definitely go back.

Great food but very annoying as a party of 3 that they added the 10% optional charge which they claim to add for parties of 4 or more! They actually put that it was 4 covers even though there were only 3 of us, to make the system add the 10%, quite devious & dishonest! Puts you off returning!

Disappointing. The korean chicken burger was bland and dry. The beef burger wasn't anything special either for the price. The fries had no rosemary taste with everything served on awkward small plates. The service however was good.

Went to the same chain in Cornwall and this was equally as nice. Decent food at a decent price.

Phenomenal food here, the Notorious R.I.B is melt in the mouth, the fries were seasoned perfectly and the buttermilk chicken tenders were delicious. Nice atmosphere too and reasonably priced for Cardiff. 100% going back, would highly recommend.

An absolutely amazing place to dine in Cardiff, Mermaid Quay, especially if you have dietary restrictions and want to enjoy a meal with family. I enjoyed a gluten free vegetarian burger after ages as it is so hard to find good food with dietary restrictions. Rest of my family also enjoyed their regular grub. Rated 10 out of 10 by my little boy and we all agree to that.

Ordered a kebab online but wasn’t available, now have to wait at least 3 days for a refund, chicken tray only had two bits of chicken rest covered with chips cost more than £16

Great place for a quick bite to eat in the heart of the bay, service was a bit slow with orders. Burgers were great but a bit disappointed with the foul language coming from the kitchen that you could hear clearly and there were children sat on the next table. Overall if you’re Looking for a good burger this is the place but maybe the staff could tone down the language when there are kids present in the restaurant.

I popped in to grab some breakfast as needed to find a vegan place to eat. Had a really nice spread and latte- only option in was oat milk, but was fine. Waiter was polite, bought my dog some water and food was really tasty, definitely would eat there again

Order was mixed up. Food came out and it looked really good but was cold. Might have guessed it was poor when staff were bringing in subways to eat.

Hub box is situated in Cardiff bay with views over the water. I visited before a theatre visit which meant that it was extremely busy. I had and All star burger my wife had a vegan burger. Both were fine. Service was good but the servers were very busy. Bookings are advisable.

I have been raving about the Big Cheese burger to everyone I’ve met since I was there. It was a vegetarian burger, and the BEST i’ve ever had, including meat burgers. I had to shout out to the chefs across the restaurant to give them my compliments, it was amazing!!

Absolutely love this place. Great service, freshly prepared breakfasts and epic coffee. I had the gluten free smashed avo and poached eggs, whilst mum had the full vegan breakfast, which came with smashed avo, sourdough bread, vegan bacon, baked beans, hashbrowns and tomatoes. Waitress was also brilliant and the atmosphere will definitely see us come back.

This place was amazing. I can't eat bread so asked for a burger without the bun. Many places tend to make me feel like this is an imposition, and then just dump a mess on a plate. Hub Box went out of their way to make it into a beautifully presented meal, even opting to put all the sauces into little dishes. Daisy, our server, was an absolute delight, so helpful, courteous, attentive without being intrusive. And the food was so amazing we are craving it the following day. Definitely recommend their chicken! Well worth the visit, would come all the way back from Australia to eat here again. Well done Hub Box!

OK. It was busy (Valentines day) and was struggling for somewhere for dinner for me and my 8yo son but... burger dry and overcooked, fries lukewarm and the supposed chilli cheese topping was so heavy with coriander it just tasted odd. First and last visit.

Nice and quiet when we went mid week. Food and service great and fast

Improtu visit for breakfast on a Tuesday morning, we were the only ones there so very quiet for breakfast. We were greeted straight away by our waitress who let us choose our seats and got us drinks instantly. She was very friendly and service was really quick. The full breakfast was a good quality, massive portion size and came with a free hot drink.

First time being there, really nice

Took 15 minutes to ask what we wanted to drink(yes it was busy but not a good start).Food was ok but but cold as it had been sat on the pass 5 minutes and walked past 4 times and looked at by the person serving us who seemed to be more interested in cleaning a table while other staff just wandered around.

Fast friendly service, menu was very good. It had various chicken burgers to choose from, not just beef burgers and had a few vegetarian and vegan options too. I liked the fact it stated the chicken was welfare checked and free range. The Onion rings were huge, generous portion of fries too, the only slight niggle was that the fries were a little bit too salty for me. The BBQ chicken burger was so good! Nearly forgot, I highly recommend the salted caramel milkshake, even came with cream on the top, it was so delicious that I drank it before I managed to get a photo 🙃 Was pleasantly surprised by the cocktail menu too. I’d definitely recommend Hub Box Cardiff.

Coeliac friendly place. My wife has Coeliac disease (can't eat gluten) which can be a challenge when trying to find a good place to eat. Hubbox is unbelievable, everything except hotdogs are gluten free or can be adapted to cater for gluten free. The food tastes great and we've never had an issue. To find a place that not only has great tasting burgers but can also offer gluten free chicken tenders and onion rings is a massive bonus. Mother clucker fries are a must and to be washed down with a raspberry cooler is the icing on the cake. Desserts were not as good as the main meals, salted caramel peanut brownie was not very big and for £6.50 I felt was overpriced. Staff are friendly, atmosphere is relaxing. Definitely a place worth a visit

Dined in at Cardiff bay. Food was good without being spectacular. One member of staff was super helpful and the other was largely disinterested (we all get bad days I know). Never underestimate the power of a happy smile and engagement though. Drinks never arrived and waited half way through the meal - at least had them deducted from the bill and arrived promptly thereafter. The biggest let down? It was my sons birthday celebration and the super helpful member of staff advised when booking over the phone they would cater for that with something small. Nothing materialized and staff said nothing detailed on the notes. It’s just the small things which separate the great from the average.

In June, me and my husband visited for a drink and I realised I left my aligners on the table. I phoned later that day and was told by a female member of staff that they have been found and handed in so we went to collect the next day. The gentleman said that he was unable to find them and that he would call me back later which he never did. I explained that these were very expensive. I did then phone a few days later and was told that the aligners were thrown in the bin and that the member of staff felt terrible and told me a lie. I was very unhappy about this and wrote a letter of complaint. I never heard anything for a while so phoned them to chase progress and they said they received the letter and would respond. To this day, I have never heard anything back and I think they're unprofessional and will never he returning.

A fantastic restaurant located in the heart of Mermaid quay. The food and staff are ours with a hugely welcome smile on arrival and a fantastic run through of the menus and associated options. The drinks menu was extremely extensive with both made to order cocktails and craft beers as well as soft and hot drinks. The food was just as good as the welcome, very well presented as explained and importantly very tasty. Even with the choice for food in this location this places staff, food and ambiance had it full every time we passed. This will be our go to place in Cardiff. A***

Just had two fantastic burger meals down cardiff Bay the burgers were cooked to perfection, I'd like to give a big thankyou to the two young lads serving they were friendly, attentive and very helpful and a real credit to Hub box, we will definitely be back, just on another note it was nice to have proper menus than having to download a menu that very rarely works at the the likes of coffi co.

Disappointing visit. I have been twice before and it was amazing so I suggested going for lunch on Saturday. This visit was terrible. A gentleman who served us before sat us. I thought the lack of customer service last visit was due to us being seated at the end of a hot day. This visit just proves this guy shouldn’t be in the hospitality trade as he is moody and very dismissive. Chips tasted as cooking oil with no seasoning. I also found a piece of plastic that was stuck to a lettuce piece. When I brought it to mr happys attention advising that the lettuce needs to be checked. I was just offered a refund in a dead pan voice. This isn’t want I was after as I have worked many years in the hospitality trade and know these things can happen. I was just telling them in case some was served to a child where that could become stuck. He just walked off and said I’ll tell my manager 🤦🏽‍♀️ Won’t be hurrying back
