Hotpot Spot in Cardiff

We had a coconut broth and beef broth hot pot, with meat, vegetable and noodle platters. I'm a texture and meat person while my partner loves taste and especially broth. We were both very satisfied with the experience. Very friendly staff, excellent atmosphere. It is our dream to return to the UK one day to visit this restaurant again.

I had an amazing experience with my friends at the hot pot spot in Cardiff! The ambiance was cozy and inviting, perfect for a gathering with friends. The staff were friendly and accommodating, making sure we had everything we needed throughout the evening. The hot pot itself was delicious and customizable, with a wide variety of fresh ingredients to choose from. We had a fantastic time cooking and sharing our meals together. What made the experience even more special was the thoughtful gesture of receiving gifts and a handwritten note from the staff. Overall, I highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for a unique and enjoyable dining experience with friends or family.

We love Hot Pots so we were so happy to find this place. The broths were so good… the chicken was my favourite. We had a meat platter and around 5 trays of Vegetables with dips and a side of Gyoza and all was plenty for a family of 4. Staff were so friendly and we felt very welcome. The goodie bag alto leave with was a really lovely touch. Thank you all x

This is such a great place to eat. The staff were very friendly and explained how it all worked. The food was excellent and there was a very good choice to suit all dietary requirements/preferences and the prices were very reasonable. Lovely atmosphere, and a surprise bag of treats with a handwritten note when we left. We'll definitely be coming back.

Seven of us came to Hotpot Spot to celebrate my niece’s birthday. None of us had ever been before but we had seen great reviews on Tripadvisor as well as on TikTok. The staff were brilliant and explained exactly how everything worked and helped us to make our choices online, suggesting quantities etc. The food was all really fresh and the flavours of the broths were incredible. We all had a great evening and would definitely love to return. The staff were very friendly and went the extra mile to make us feel welcome. There was a free cocktail for the birthday girl and a bag of goodies for us to take away. Thank you!

We had a really lovely experience at hotpot spot, the lamb broth was amazing and the on the bone lamb in the broth was stunning. The prawns we cooked in the broth and pork gyoza are a must try. We also had the beef and ginger broth with the meat and veg tray and squid, and the owner kindly gave us a delicious coconut drink on the house. As we were leaving we were given a goody bag of Asian confectionery which was very kind. The staff are all incredibly friendly and the restaurant has a relaxed and cosy atmosphere.

I went for lunch at this place with a friend. It was my 2nd time. The first time I went the food was great, but the waitress unfortunately didn't understand some words which I thought would be important as a waitress, namely wine (which was on the menu) and take away. Not blaming her, I'm blaming the management for poor training/identifying weakness in language skills. This time around, the food was mediocre at best and some extras that we had ordered - coriander & garlic, didn't arrive. We were the only customers in the restaurant at that time so it wasn't as if they had the excuse of being busy. I will add that the Manager has been extremely rude to me because I had the audacity to mention problems with training/language during my first visit, calling me racist! Well he won't need to worry about that, I will never be tempted to go back ever again after my last visit. For info, you can make your own Hot Pot by buying a Hot Pot soup base from any Chinese supermarket and do it yourself, really easily.

Well where do I start. I was pleasantly surprised to see that there was a new food place especially one that does hot pot. We managed to book and weren't sure what to expect. The staff were super friendly and waited for all of our party to arrive before explaining how the ordering system worked and showing us the size of the dishes so we knew what to expect. We placed our orders, had some nice cocktails and some beers while chatting away cooking our food. This was a great experience and tasted absolutely amazing. The food when delivered to the table looked just as good as the website pictures. We even had a little gift bag with a hand written note when we left. All I can say is thank you for such great food and service. I can't wait to book again with more friends 😊

My boyfriend and I came here for valentines and had the best time. I will preface this by saying it's the only hotpot place I've ever been to, so I can't compare this to other places. The servers were lovely, they were welcoming, attentive and on it with bringing us anything we needed. We decided to order individual items instead of a set tray because we wanted a mix of different things. In hindsight, I think a set tray would be better money-wise. We also agreed that we want to come back with a group of people so we can get a couple of platters and try different things while keeping the price a little lower. The broths were amazing. We got the chicken and tom yum. They were both intensely flavoursome and warming, but I kept going back for the chicken - I haven't had a chicken broth that good in a long time. I'd say the food highlights were the pork gyoza, the sliced beef and the biang biang noodles, which we got as a side dish. The gyoza were cooked perfectly with a crispy bottom and soft top, and it was seasoned really well, too. The sliced beef seemed like it was good quality, and after a short dip in the broth and then into a dipping sauce it was delicious. My boyfriend could not stop eating the biang biang noodles - they were simple yet saucy and so thick and chewy. We'd definitely recommend this place - it's almost like an activity as well as a meal as you're cooking the stuff yourself at the table and you can try different things together and different ways of cooking them.

What a great place. Food was fresh and tasty. Not had anything like it before where you get your broth and cook everything in it. The lady on today Thursday was amazing and so helpful as not sure what to order. Definitely be returning soon.

Hotpots Spot offers an inviting ambience and authentic Chinese cuisine. Upon arrival, the friendly staff warmly greeted us and guided us to our table. They efficiently explained how to navigate the menu via QR code for online ordering. We opted for the "Hong Kong Satay" and "Sichuan Spicy Mala" hotpot broths, both at spice level 2, along with dishes like the "Mongolian Meat Feast," "Veggie Delight," and "Noodle Caboodle" – a satisfying selection for our group of three. The interactive dining experience, where we cooked our own food while chatting leisurely, was a highlight, fostering a relaxed atmosphere uncommon in many eateries. The attentive staff and hospitable owner added to our enjoyment. Upon settling our bill, we were pleasantly surprised with a goodie bag filled with biscuits and treats, accompanied by a thoughtful note. However, two minor drawbacks were noted. Firstly, while the digital menu was convenient, having a physical menu would have enhanced the dining experience, particularly for those without smartphones. Secondly, our seating area near the bar exhibited noticeable black mould on the walls, detracting slightly from the otherwise pleasant ambience. Overall, our experience at Hotpots Spot was delightful, and we would gladly return for another enjoyable meal.

It was genuinely the best restaurant experience I’ve ever had in my life, the servers were so lovely and explained everything thoroughly, they were sweet and even offered to take a video for me and my boyfriend as I was struggling to do it myself with one hand. They gave us a free goodybag as we were leaving too, the food was amazing and so so fun. 10/10 all around.

Had such a good time the other day at Hot Pot Spot. We’d walked past it a few times meaning to go in, and my only regret is not doing so instantly! I never normally write reviews, but it’s just so rare that a place manages to nail their service, quality and aesthetic all in one, but hot pot spot certainly got it! Incredibly friendly people working there, I could have stayed chatting all evening..and the broths, are SO damn good, with an authentic atmosphere. Such a good job with the place and I’m already planning my next visit :) see you soon!

Heard so much about it from my daughters who decided they wanted to go for their 13th birthday. Greeted with such warmth. Soon as we got there they bought fresh cold water tonthe table. You order on their app by signing in at the table. All very straight forward. Waitress very knowledgeble and explained the way it works. I have to say I wasnt looking forward to cooking my own food. But It was an enjoyable experiance that got all the family involved. The food itself was lovely, and the broth was amazing. Deffinatly will go back.

This spot is an amazing hot pot place with excellent staff and stunning food. The staff were very kind and helped us through the whole hot pot experience for the first time. They were generous and even wrote a personalised note for us. The atmosphere was beautiful and calming and the food was amazing. It was easy to order and very yummy, just be careful with the spice level! 😅 Would definitely recommend for a family or friend group meal out with reasonable prices. Really lovey food and experience.

Me and my friends enjoyed the food, service and the atmosphere to the fullest. They took our booking at the last hour for 8 of us which was really kind of them to do so. The mala broth and tom yum broth was amazingly delicious. All the vegetables and meat were fresh and delicious. They have option for vegetarian and vegan which was very helpful. And also all the staff were very nice and friendly as well. Would definitely recommend to everyone to have Chinese hotpot here. While leaving we got a gift bag with a note on it which is so sweet of them. Everything was 10/10.

The restaurant is up on the first floor of the shopping complex. The menu is very extensive, with individual items being served to suit, service is very friendly and the way the food is served is based on a traditional family meal, from one hot pot.

Genuinely one of the best dine in experiences I've had, the staff were lovely, the food was to die for, I will be telling everyone I meet to dine here if they want to have a fantastic meal.

This place is a hidden gem of Cardiff!! Found it accidentally as it is tucked away in some arcades off of Wellfield road. The food was absolutely delicious and a new and interesting experience as it tooks itself right in front of you on your own table! Also really good price, we left stuffed with our leftovers in a doggy bag. The waiters were super friendly and smiley as well. Will deffo be bringing our friends here. P.s thanks for the goody bag:)

We came here as a group of five, and were well looked after in an environment which was very new to us. The staff members were very polite and taught us how to hotpot, guiding us with the menu choices. The food was very fresh and we had a great social dinner. Will definitely be visiting again.

Went here for an anniversary meal with my partner and it was amazing! The woman who greeted us was lovely and talked us through the whole process as we'd never had hot pot before. We ordered two broths and both were delicious and full of flavour. We also had the meat set tray which was great, the pork meatballs were delicious. Veg was fresh. The two cocktails we had were very unique and tasty, a melon cocktail and a lychee one. All in all everything from the service to the food to the atmosphere of the place was brilliant and we can't wait to go back.

Super friendly and welcoming environment, it was our first time having hot pot so they talked us through it. The broth was amazing and generous portions, special mention to the bao buns!

Genuinely the best hot pot I've ever had, we've been to a few places in Bristol and Swansea but this was by far the best. The broths are truly delicious, like genuinely full of flavour and I love that the spice level was changeable because I'm a baby. The char Sui buns are to die for. The pricing was fair for how full I am. We also got a lovely gift bag from the staff which was a lovely surprise and now I'm telling everyone I know to come and eat here. We were talking about how we were going to leave a review before the gift bag btw. A lovely little spot that's truly special and delicious I wish I'd asked to take some broth home ❤️

What an amazing little place! The whole experience from the food to the staff was excellent! As soon as you walk in we were greeted with warm smiles and excellent customer service! I absolutely loved it here! I dined on a Tuesday night with a large party of friends. Everything was perfect, the staff went above and beyond to help us all and explained the cooking process thoroughly. Our friend Kate booked this restaurant after seeing promotional videos on tik tok and I’m so glad we tried it! The taste and quality of the food was exceptional, this was an incredibly fun dining experience and “I will be returning” seemed to echo throughout our party. The staff even gave us a lovely note and several bags of complimentary sweets as a thank you which is such a special and considerate touch! Im very impressed by such a hospitable team, great job!

The food was perfect i had the Mongolian Meat set tray and it didn't disappoint. Paired with the filipino broth it was amazing. The staff were amazing and very helpful always asking and making sure needs were met they absolutely smashed the service. Plus the gift bag at the end is definitely making me want to come back. This place deserves more recognition and is definitely a must if you are wanting a good experience paired with a lovely meal. Cant wait to visit again in the future.

Just had a Chinese hotpot lunch, our first ever. Staff were really helpful, food was fresh, on the table quickly and the fun of creating your own meal on the table is a good experience. Tastes amazing. Definitely going back. Sent us away with a gift bag too 😀

We’ve visited twice now and love it! It’s a very unique dining experience for Cardiff which our children, in particular, love. The food is good quality and it’s easy to cook with most things only taking 1-2 mins. The dips and broths are amazing and flavours that would be really hard to replicate at home. If you are reading this and considering giving it a try, I’d suggest you do. The staff couldn’t be more accommodating to first time visitors. We’ll definitely be back!

We booked a table on Friday as we were visiting Wales for the day from Wiltshire, England. We were instantly met with by a really friendly and welcoming waitress and seated to our table with some iced water without even asking for any. I was pretty confident navigating the menu and the format as I knew what to expect but the waitress had great knowledge and really helpful tips regarding choosing the spice level, timings and how best to go about everything. The food was delicious, prompt and true to the pictures on the ordering menu and help was at hand if you ever needed it. Half way through another member of staff popped over to our table to replenish our bases just like that. By the time we were so full that we couldn’t possibly eat any more it was 2 hours later to our shock. We never felt rushed or pressured to order anything else etc so it was a really nice interactive fun experience rather than seated, eat and out the door. Having worked in the industry previously I have nothing but praise for the restaurant, all the staff and especially our main waitress (unfortunately I can’t remember her name) - truly fabulous! The only downside was that because you pay before you eat tipping could be hard when lots of people don’t have cash these days. Luckily I carry cash for times like this but I am not sure if there could be technology to tip online after the meal.

Went to Hotpot spot for some dinner not entirely knowing what to expect but it was amazing. The restaurant is cosy, service was exceptional and the food was insanely good. We tried 2 cocktails which were both lovely and tried a variety of ingredients to have in our hotpots which were all super fresh and tasty. The waiter was brilliant in showing and helping us and we got a few bits to take home aswell to round off a lovely evening.

Yesterday was my first time trying this place and I can confidently say it will not be my last! The food was amazing, the price was great and the staff were out of this world, especially the lovely girl who served us! Honestly was a 10/10, can’t wait to come back with some more friends❤️

Please please go try this place! I would give it 6 stars if I could. I think we're very lucky to have a place like this in Cardiff and I hope they do really well. Me and a friend had the halal platter - beef and lamb with a range of veg, the handmade belt noodles and both the mee-shay broth and sichaun spicy mala broth. The mee-shay broth is one of the tastiest things I've ever had. The service was excellent, the young female waiter is a gem and an older chap came over as well to very helpfully explain a few items on the menu.

A refreshing change not to be greeted with, 'Hi guys, can I get you any drinks?' before you have hardly sat down. Instead we were welcomed with the offer of a jug of iced water and a quick guide through the menu as this was our first visit. Maya, our waitress, could not have been more helpful. This is a great experience - be careful not to over-order or to order something too hot. We enjoyed our visit as a couple but it would probably be even better for a group.

It was my daughter’s 16th Birthday so we visited the restaurant. Such friendly staff who gave a free dessert because it was her birthday. Such fresh and delicious food. It was my first hotpot, but my partner has had several in China and this definitely rivalled those! Great friendly owners. So much fun with all the different veggies and the two broths. The meat platter was also tasty. My daughter loved the shaved ice Oreo dessert. I would give 6 stars if that was an option!

Very authentic experience of Cantonese hot pot. I have visited 4 times since they have opened. Every time I come back it's just as delicious and enjoyable as the last, I would and have recommended to as many people as possible. A once in a lifetime experience if you have never tried. One of my favourite broths is the beef and ginger, i usually have the knife pare noodles as they absorb most of the flavour. The staff are also very lovely and are willing to accommodate to your needs and allergy concerns. Thank you hotpot spot for the amazing experience!

I’ve wanting to try hot pot for quite some time and I was not disappointed. It was fantastic experience and the staff were very welcoming and happy to explain how it all worked. The quality of meat and veg was great and the broths were rich in flavour.

So happy they have brought this idea to Cardiff and South Wales. Now I no longer need to travel to the West Midlands for this hotpot style cuisine. The food was absolutely amazing and full of flavour, the hotpot flavours contained richness and fresh ingredients throughout. The setting was fantastic and staff helpful and kind. I would definitely recommend anyone to try this place out. It has halal options and is also fairly priced. I went all out to try everything! The staff were so kind in the end they even gave us a goody bag of Asian treats. Wow!
