Chinese fast street food in Cardiff

I have got worse experience here. I ordered one spicy beef dish and one rice. The Beef was not really fresh. I tried a few pieces and then I just gave up. Don’t wanna get sick. I asked them to give me a receipt after I paid. They said they couldn’t give me a receipt since their printer machine didn’t work……such a bad excuse…..This was a meal during my business trip. I even can’t claim this expense due to no receipt…….

Had the beef noodle soup. They have a great array of noodles available, I recommend the potato noodles. Not spicy really, just a slight kick ! Very quick service

duck udon was SO delicious, i get it every time and i really recommend everyone to try duck udon or any other meals in this restaurant because they are all so yummy yummy!!!!

Incredible flavours and tastes. Stopped in for a quick bite between walking around and had the duck potato noodle soup and my mate had the beef. Both had big pieces of meat and were full of flavour and taste. Also had a Chinese bottled beer. Very, very tasty. Hidden gem this, go check it out.

Food & service was fantastic! Best Ramen I've ever had! Reasonable price for the massive portions but the restaurant is a bit small but feels very authentic!

You know the place which is so good you think you should leave a good review but never do because you don't want the place to get so busy that you can't get a table? This is that place!

I really love the food here so much!!! I went here so many times!!As I love sour and spicy food, I like the Duck potato noodle soup so much, the crispy duck is wonderful. Besides I enjoy the Duck noodle soup soup, beef noodle is also very good. And you can choose the meet you want and the type of noodles you like!!! That’s interesting! ! Sometimes I will choose normal noodles sometimes the rice noodles and others the udon! What else! I love the chicken in Szechuan style so much! However I saw some other people they think that is too spicy though! So if you wanna try maybe order less spicy if you can’t stand the chilly. Sometimes I will order some dish like BBQ beef or spicy chicken! Those are all good! I like boiled fish with pickled cabbage too!! If you like fish but haven’t try this flavour you can give a go! I like adventures so I will try most of the food in this restaurant and the result is I love most of them! ! If you ask me which one I like best! Hard to say haha! And you can see many Chinese-made soft drinks! I do recommend them!!!like the peach oolong tea or grapefruit green tea etc. All in all I will come as many times as I can!!! Oh and also it is free to take away! It is really perfect to find such local Chinese food!!

I have seen them filtering leftover soups back into the big pot that they use for serving new dishes. Not stepping there again.

The food tastes terrible, I vomitted after. Vomittimg was what convinced me to write this review. They put loads of oil and barely any meat, two small boney pieces. The portions was hardly anything, more water than anything else in the bowl. Rude staff who don't have manners, they stare at you while you're eating. Horrendous atmosphere, small and cramped. Whoever has the aux has bad taste in music. Not going again.

Oh my god, been wanting to go here for ages and finally did as it has been recommended so many times and is always super busy! Worth every penny. Really reasonable prices for a lot of food - £13 for a massive bowl of great food and a Tsingtao beer. Will 100% come back here because it’s amazing. I added chilli oil to my duck just to give it some spice but was amazing before anyway. Sat down and within 10 minutes had our food and our drinks. Absolutely insane - if you’ve been thinking about coming here and have been putting it off, wait no more.

I ordered a beef noodle soup. The food is delicious and great value for money. The waiter enthusiastically introduced me to the special features here.

In Cardiff for a hot minute (well, an hour of parking at John Lewis costs £2.70, and it was pretty cold out), so had to go for the pig’s trotters. An unctuous delight. Bean sprouts form part of the token vegetation. Bones went onto the copious pile of tissues. £10 well spent. If I were often nearby I’d be in all the time. Why does this appear to have been written by Hemingway?

Very tasty and good value for money! For 10 pounds you can get a nice, tasty and filling portion of noodles. I barely managed to finish them all. The broth was very flavourful and the meat was of good quality, tender and well cooked. Will visit again!

The service sucked. I placed a take away order for two dishes, got only one. Had to wait there for another 5-10 mins for the second dish. The food had too much oil and gave us stomach ache. On Google this restaurant shows up under drive thru, NEVER GO FOR TAKE AWAY HERE. They expect everyone to eat with chopsticks and don’t have forks or spoons even. Had to throw away the food filled with oil. Waste of money!!!

Very good and very bad experience here. Praise where it's due firstly ... the crispy duck and beef both with rice noodles was excellent, the ramen broth so flavourful! Starting at £10 a bowl they represent tremendous value. On my 2nd visit, I went for the beef with potato noodles. Bad choice, very slimey, couldn't eat them. There are always people from the far east dining, which must speak of the authenticity of the cooking. No MSG here. They do, however, offer 'genetically modified food', so my friend spotted displayed on the wall! 😱 The second major downside is rhe toilet (singular). Don't go there, literally. I also didn't spot the hygiene rating on the way in, otherwise J wouldn't be writing this review. I'm conflicted here, in that the food is excellent (if you pick the right dish) but .....

The place was rammed and i had to wait 10mins to get a table. Most of the customers seem to be northern Chinese students. I am used to HK food and i was in Shanghai a while back. The taste of the chilli oil was similar which I didn't like then, now I have gotten used to it. The staff were friendly and helpful. Most meals were £10. Menu wasn't big but that is always a big sign in book. Had beef noodles.

Unapologetic authentic Chinese 'cafe' as you would find in the cities in China. Food is excellent and generous portions. Little or nothing for veggies, vegans etc. This is chinese food and often quite spicy. An excellent experience! Oh, it's half outdoors with very little heating too so wrap up warm if it's a cold day...

Great value for noodle bowl dishes, been here multiple times and will be back for more. The Huntun noodles are still my favourite but this time put I had the beef bowl noodles.

Best authentic chinese street food place in the UK!!

Chinese fast street food is a small, unassuming place off the high street, with roughly 10 tables. I went at 5pm and got a table with no issues, granted it was a Thursday though. I was greeted by a very friendly and polite server who gave me a menu immediately. The menu is simple and easy to understand but if you have any questions the server will be more than happy to help you. Once I ordered it took 5 mins to get my beef noodle soup. It arrived piping hot and was probably the best noodle soup I'd ever tried. Deep and full of flavour, rich and satisfying but clean and light at the same time. 3 slabs of the most tender brisket adorned the top, which fell apart as soon as I tried to lift it with my chopsticks. Beansprouts and plenty of noodles filled the bowl. I opted for some crispy chilli oil halfway through, mainly for my own curiosity. It hit me hard and I enjoyed every single mouthful. The whole experience was lovely. Perfect service, a bustling atmosphere and excellent food. I will be back again and again without a doubt.

Pork noodles my favourite. The service ladies are always cheerful and helpful. Price reasonable as well.

I had the chicken in szechuan style, it was very good, nice amount of spice and flavor. I didn't expect it to be with bones in, which made it more difficult to eat but that didn't detract from the flavor.

Amazing food, beautiful broth & lovely service. Definitely one to visit. Seems to be open all day, wheel chair accessible but not for toilet facilities as they are upstairs. Will be returning with more friends. Thanks team

Staff very kind and welcoming. Food comes in big portions and has a unique taste, very delicious. Just like the one I used to have in China. Waiting time isn’t too long for the food and you can just sit inside or outside as soon as you arrive. Atmosphere is lovely and not too loud.

Fantastic food, service is impeccable, the atmosphere nostalgic. The place reminds me of old eateries back in SEAsia. It was packed, with little space to move but there is a charm to that. The food is wonderfully authentic and filling. The price may be off-putting for some, but we got every penny and more from that. Other restaurants would charge triple for this kind of food. The menu is ascetic but that's to its benefit. Immediately a favourite after one meal.

Best food I've had in like two years, the Szechuan beef is so good, plus the beef noodles or boiled beef

Really yummy food. Having chilli oil and soy sauce with the noodles was fab. You can pay by card/contactless now which is great. Lovely service would recommend.

I had been looking all over Cardiff for authentic Chinese noodles and I have finally found them. I had beef udon and the flavouring was delicious just like in China. I am so happy to have discovered this place and look forward to trying more dishes. The staff were really friendly and welcoming. I suspect they're going to need to move into a larger venue soon as it was really busy on a weekday and I suspect it might get very popular!

such a little gem of a place! I got the huntun noodle soup. warming and fresh with beansprouts, coriander and scallions. tender bouncy noodles, lovely aromatic broth, tasty wontons, hot food and generous serving without being too much. fast service, decent prices, super friendly helpful staff, covered outdoor seating which is really nice, lovely atmosphere with the music. will definitely be back to try more menu items! **P.S. they take card now!!!***

I've always wanted to go here - I count the queues as an indication that its good 😂 I had the pork feet noodle soup and it was GOOD. I also had a milk tea drink was really nice - I like the fact it was in the bottle too. It was really nice street food - it gave street food vibes as well so we got what we wanted. The staff were really nice as well and were patient with us and let us stay as long as we wanted. Overall 9/10 experience- I really liked. 9 because I went there when it was raining so it didn't have the hustle and bustle that I saw😕

Amazing, authentic, filling bowls of noodles and tremendous meats. Everything we tried was flavorful, everything which was carried past our table smelled delicious. Why would anyone go to the fast food places nearby when, for less, you can have a real meal here?

How have I not been here before? Tremendously tasty soups. Very reasonable for the huge portions. Will come often.

Delicious, authentic food, quick service and great value

Serves authentic Chinese food. A large variety of options, everything is tasty. Highly recommended the noodle soups. Good atmosphere, although a little bit hot in the summer.

Really good! Quick service, I was absolutely starved and had food 10 mins after sitting down. Soup is spicy but not unbearable, actually very nice level and tasty. Also staff is very nice and polite. They knew how to read the vibe!! They have one vegggie option which honestly is good enough! Will come back!!

What an incredible place! In a more discreet location off the side of the high street though definitely well-known as it filled up quickly for lunch (not too many seats but they do offer take-out). The food was delicious with large portion sizes - very filling and great value for money! The beef and potato noodle soup was a good level of spicy with chewy noodles and tender beef, also filled with bean sprouts and nuts which complemented the dish well. The pork feet noodle soup also had great flavour with a delicious broth. The staff were friendly and the wait wasn’t too long. Will definitely be coming back to try the other dishes!

Food was very good and worth to money

I loved their food. I went with my husband, we loved their food and service and the entire environment. Food taste is so much authentic. For some moment you can feel that you are in China. Also good in price. So much worthy having their food. Overall yes we recommend this place and we will go again soon.

Excellent value for money and excellent food and service

My partner and I stumbled upon this restaurant after an exhausting day of hiking Pen y Fan in Brecon Beacons. We were drawn in by the fantastic Google reviews, and we were not disappointed! We ordered the Chicken in Schezuan style along with two rice bowls, and one dish was more than enough for both of us. The rice refills are free of charge. The chicken was cooked to absolute perfection and the pieces came with bones. Now, fair warning, the dish is spicy, which might be a bit much for some folks, but I personally couldn't get enough of it. To cool down the heat, we opted for a packaged mango-flavored cold drink. The serving staff was very helpful and let us know in advance the level of heat when we were figuring out what to order. We're definitely making this place a must-visit every time we're in Cardiff. The combination of great food, generous portions, and friendly service has won us over.

Me and my daughter went for lunch and had the Beef and Potato noodles. We loved the dish and the size of the portions 💕 delicious spicy broth with chunks of beef with clear/glass noodles on a bed of bean sprouts dusted with a hearty portion of diced spring onions and whole peanuts. A lively dish which we both thoroughly enjoyed. We had a regular Coke and Black iced tea for drinks with the beef noodles costing £25 for us both, money well spent! The menu has 19 dishes to choose from which makes ordering super easy and only had to wait around 8 minutes (if that) for our food. We will definitely visit again and try another dish of the menu. A small venue with a few tables inside and outside.Just eat and go. Highly recommended, go try it out for yourself 10/10

Mapo tofu was excellent, but it's the only tofu dish and the only vegan option. No málà taste, just normal spice. Could have been spicier.

Easily one of the nicest noodle soups I've had in a long time. I left here feeling full, happy and very, very satisfied. Very reasonably priced for the huge portion size. The staff were very attentive and informed me of ingredients. Lovely to see an authentic cafe full of very happy customers. I'll be back!

First Visit to Chinese Fast Street Food, Charlies Street. Cardiff. I ordered the Crispy Duck Noodle Soup. The meal was delicious, served hot and fast, also with a side of chilli oil. The staff was helpful and friendly. Great welcome and polite. Will most definitely return to eat here again.

A licensed premise that doesn't serve tap water. They might want to rethink that.. Great to find somewhere offering such food portions at such reasonable prices. A nice street food type of atmosphere, no attempt at being fancy which is good. The duck noodles were delicious, but the prawn noodles had a very odd and unpleasant soap flavour (no, not the Corriander). Stomach is currently in a bit of turmoil.

Went with my butty, Ga and demolished the Olympic sized bowls of deliciousness in front of us. Lovely staff and met the chef, too fella.

Absolutely love this place. Came across them by chance when looking for food on my lunch break or after work and may I say OMG, their food is soooooo good. Got a yummy selection to choose from which comes in the biggest portions I've ever seen. The service is just beyond beautiful. Very friendly and lovely people. Always leave a bit more for a tip just cuz they deserve it. Been back now 4x and will continue to go there from now on.

Not bad, waitress very friendly, chef was not, cash only which is strange/suspicious. Had the mapu tofu and was surprised that it did not contain minced meat, it should be listed as a vegetarian option as every mapu tofu I have ever had has had minced meat. Rice also had to be ordered separately for £2.50, it's like paying for noodles separately from a noodle soup.

This is what Cardiff needs more of! Probably the best tasty and authentic Chinese noodles I have ever had. It's a tiny little place but with a great atmosphere and friendly staff. The menu has about a dozen choices and they all look incredible. I had the beef noodles, extremely tender and flavourful. Dishes are only £10 and easily the best of its kind of Cardiff. We will be back very soon to try some more dishes. It's cash only though, so come prepared.

So good! We popped in on a Sunday afternoon and it was busy but we got a table very quickly. We had the beef and the duck noodles and both were so good and great value for money at £10 a bowl! Top tip: is it cash only but you can pay by bank transfer. Probably easier to have cash though! Defo recommend.

1st time here, popped in for lunch whilst we were in Cardiff doing a bit of shopping. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We ordered the beef udon noodle soup, the crispy duck noodle soup and two cans of regular coke for £25. Food was lovely and hot and tasted so good. We used the chopsticks and spoon that we're provided but the staff member that was serving us did ask if we wanted knives and folks. We declined and had fun trying to eat with the chopsticks instead. The portions are more than ample, and definitely value for money. in fact we had to ask if we could bag what we couldn't eat up and take it away with us which was no problem at all. Would definitely come here again and try the other items on the menu.
