I recently had an extremely disappointing stay at Hotel Indigo in Bath, which significantly disrupted my vacation plans. I was assigned room 215, located on floor -1 (the basement level), and encountered numerous issues that made my stay unbearable. Upon entering the room, I noticed it was unclean, with stains visible throughout. Although I initially chose to overlook this, the situation worsened when I attempted to sleep around midnight. Hotel staff were moving goods up and down the stairs directly outside my room, creating constant noise from footsteps, door slams, and conversations. This disturbance persisted until 6 AM, depriving me of any rest. After the staff finally ceased their activities, I hoped to get some sleep. However, I was soon disturbed by loud noises from pigeons near my window. Upon opening the window, I discovered a significant amount of bird droppings, which was both unsightly and unsanitary. Additionally, insects (bed bugs) began to invade the room once I turned off the lights, further adding to my discomfort. To make matters worse, construction noises began at 8 AM, eliminating any chance of rest. Frustrated and exhausted, I decided to check out early and return home, as the experience had completely ruined my holiday. I have attached photos to illustrate the poor conditions I encountered during my stay. Based on this experience, I will not be staying at any Hotel Indigo properties in the future and cannot recommend this hotel to others.

Stayed all over the country in different hotels including IHG hotels and not a single one of them have asked for a £50 refundable deposit in case of damage to the room, disgusting who does she think we are, we’re two pensioners. No TV channels working, when I told reception it was brushed off with an apology and the reason was that the floor above had stopped working so our floor must of as well. All evening and early morning a pigeon was cooing loudly outside our bedroom window.

Great location for city centre and attractions. 5 minutes from train station. Lovely greeting on arrival and had luggage taken to room while we explored Bath. Room was very clean and comfortable. The bed was great and had a good night sleep. Breakfast was nice with good selection. Would recommend

Excellent location, superb service and fabulous rooms. We were greeted by Heidi, on arrival and checked in promptly. Heidi seemed to always be around during our stay and was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast selection was amazing value for money- what a great selection on offer to suit all tastes and diets. The bed was so comfortable and the rooms beautifully decorated and very cosy with everything available. The building itself was so beautiful and only a short walk to the facilities in Bath. We also had a couple of Singapore Sling’s pre dinner, in the bar. Here we received great, professional service too. Definitely will return and recommend.

My husband surprised me with a 4 night stay for my 50th Birthday this last week. Wow, what can I say, was impressed the moment we walked in. Friendly, helpful staff. Beautiful hotel located centrally to all attractions within Bath and located next to the river Avon. Car park opposite which isn't cheap at all but ideally located. Hotel decorated beautifully, bar and restaurant really lovely. Staff lovely. Food was lovely too although felt the menu a little small for choice. Room that we're had was really good in size, lovely spacious bathroom and a good sized shower. My birthday was very special so thank you for being part of the celebrations.

I don't even want to tell people how good this hotel is because then I'll never get a room ha. Nick at reception was simply marvellous and Heidi who brought us to our room was a breath of fresh air. Whoever designed the interior needs to be cast in bronze and placed on a pedestal. Bravo! C'est magnifique

Located centrally in Bath, the Indigo is a good choice if you're planning to visit the city. Rooms are on the small size for price, but everything was clean. That said, breakfast service is a joke, and I would highly advise eating outside of the hotel. As per previous Google reviews, there is something fundamentally wrong with the way in which service operates. It wasn't particularly busy, although we all seemed to end up tucked away (and clearly forgotten) in a back room. Tea/coffee orders taken on arrival - after 2 chase ups (with different FOH I add - so not particularly short staffed), we walked out 50 minutes later still having not received either or our breakfast. I completely understand that the kitchen can get backed up and food orders delayed, but to wait almost an hour for a hot drink is ridiculous.

Arrived and went to reception for valet parking and within minutes the car was taken and parked for us (This needs pre-booking to ensure they have space) The bags were taken and put in our room for us while we went in to town for lunch as we arrived early. We stayed in a suite that was below the pavement and the room was brilliant, really nicely designed, comfortable bed, lovely bathroom with robes and slippers. Complimentary prosecco and mini bar which included water, two soft drinks, small white and red wine and two beers. WiFi was good and room temperature was easily controlled. Hotel staff were fun and couldn't do enough for us, lots of choice at breakfast with continental and cooked options. Would highly recommend, and the location is perfect.

Just one small mark-down for an otherwise perfect stay: no wifi in the room due to its location. (No cell phone reception either so couldn't use data - not the hotel's fault at all and apparently a problem in the city itself.)

I would like to award 5 stars overall, but to get the negative aspect out of the way first, difficulty to park in order to check in, and no elevator, forces me to dock one star. Otherwise, this hotel is spectacular with friendly, helpful staff. The location is perfect for walking access to all parts of the city. Although my reservation was for a standard room, I was assigned a Vault Room, a former stable built in the 18th century. It is cleverly renovated making use of the natural stone walls, enhanced with soft lighting and black timber finishing, and wonderfully quiet. The king bed was so comfortable with a high quality Hypnos mattress bed and luxury Egyptian cotton linen. The spacious bathroom had a walk-in shower, toilet, and sink.

I would return to Bath for the city, which is beautiful, and for this hotel. Charming hotel, for the building, its decoration as well as the attention of its staff. Because we are IHG members they gave us an upgrade to the vaulted rooms, which are very spacious and with luxury details.

The room is basically a broom closet. We are only 1.70 tall and bump our heads. It is also difficult to find the room because the hotel or our room in the attic is a labyrinth. We have to walk up and down again 3 times. There's also a super loud party on the street. Would not recommend it, especially for that price!!!

A potentially excellent hotel let down by aspects of the room and very inefficient breakfast service. The hotel is well presented with lots of quirky details that make your stay memorable. The staff are uniformly friendly and helpful and make an excellent impression. The room was spacious and well equipped, but let down by the miniscule en-suite shower room - not enough room to turn around, let alone swing a cat. Quality of maintenance in the shower room made it look cheap and tacky. The overall impression of the room was further reduced by having incredibly filthy windows. The bed was comfortable, but sleep was interrupted by the excessive light leaking from the corridor around the frame of the door. This was sufficiently bad that the room was bright enough to navigate around in the dead of night without switching on any lights. The breakfast service was incredibly slow and inefficient. Admittedly we arrived at peak time, but we waited nearly 15 minutes to be seated. There was a long delay before hot drinks arrived. The incorrect hot breakfast was served and took about 20 minutes to put right. The team struggles with the number of tables that it has to look after and are further hindered by the eccentric layout of the restaurant. Whilst I appreciate this is part of the quirkiness of the hotel, we were placed on a tiny table in what was evidently a converted corridor. Being out of the way we seemed to be forgotten by the service team.

Sleepless in the Indigo bath - the hotel with a quirky gym policy. IHG diamond status member who stayed for two nights - 1st - 3rd September. By coincidence this is my 4th Indigo property I have stayed in the last 2 months. Check in was fine and staff were polite and helpful. The room had good amenities and the room was comfortable. However, the room cleaning is not great and there were long hairs still on the floor by the shower and these still remained after the next clean on day 2. I felt really sorry for the room cleaning staff as they seemed rushed off their feet so would be good to ensure they are supported. So the other 2 indigo’s I stayed in in Glasgow and Florence had 24 hour gyms that you could access through your room key and I assumed it would be the same here (like pretty much every hotel in the world) but ah no you need to present to reception and get a different key (which I did not find out until I went there and locked myself in the court yard that I could not escape). The following night I could not sleep well due to work stress so was up at 4 am and thought I would get my workout in early. So off I went to the gym with this extra gym only key only to be rather unceremoniously evicted by the night manager (assuming that) who said the gym was closed and that he would need the key back - so here I am leaving a review asking that the hotel review it strange Gym - policy. Also I now have a very grumpy partner as I have disturbed their sleep too.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Hotel Indigo in Bath, London, and I can confidently say it was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had in London. The location is simply unbeatable; nestled in the heart of Bath, Hotel Indigo offers easy access to all the charming attractions the city has to offer. From the moment I stepped into the hotel, I was greeted by a delightful aromatic scent that immediately put me at ease. The ambiance was inviting, and the aesthetic of the hotel was nothing short of stunning. My room was beautifully appointed, with a perfect blend of modern design and classic elegance. One of the highlights of my room was the luxurious clawfoot tub in the bathroom. It was the perfect place to unwind after a day of exploring. The hotel’s selection of shower gels and shampoo conditioners was also a lovely surprise. They were infused with aromatherapy scents that added a special touch to my bathing experience. The hotel staff truly went above and beyond to make my stay exceptional. They were incredibly sweet, kind, and polite, always ensuring that I had everything I needed. Their warm hospitality made me feel right at home and added a personal touch to my stay.Overall, this hotel made my visit to Bath absolutely perfect. Although the service was good, we have had 3 different rooms in just 2 nights!! The first room was just perfect with a kingsize bed , beautiful views with 3 big windows, perfect...until we had a shower in our accessible bathroom and the floor flooded, leaking into the Reception area downstairs. Very kindly, they moved us to another room! Big room, king-size bed (as requested), 2 windows although we were in the basement, amazing bathroom but no WiFi at all !! Well yes if I stood by the door, I was able to get 1 bar!! Nowadays, this shouldn't happen! We had our daughters abroad and we needed WiFi at all times. Now we are in a tiny room, the tiny window looking at the back of the building, double bed. When we asked if this room was the same price range as the one we originally paid for, they said "it is because this room has a separate bathtub" We are very disappointed as we wanted these 2 days to be special!! Now we are going with a bad taste. It's not OK.

We stayed in your lovely hotel April 19-20th celebrating our 34th anniversary. We had originally booked back in 2020 for our 30th ann8versary trip to the UK but Covid happened. We were so excited to stay at your hotel as the reviews were wonderful. Sadly at check in We had the rudest person. She was so rude and unaccomidating as we asked about parking and other things. We almost felt like she was shooing us away all she wanted to do was get to the next person. She had actee the dame way with the people ahead of of so it was really disappointing and as if she dispised us because we were Americans. We are very nice people so it was very off putting. We chalked it up to bring a stressful day for her. Sadly, she Alas also the person who check us out the next day and was just as rude and abrupt! It really took away from our York experience and the wonderful stay that we had. Hotel was wonderful, perhaps work on customer service as she did not represent your brand in a good way.

Hotel is located within five minutes walk directly from the Bath Spa train station, just stay on the right side of the street. You'll also be five minutes from the city center and most of what this town has to offer. I didn't realize the rooms had particular themes until I asked why some of the portraits above my bed were defaced. Apparently Bath was historically known as a place for secret rendezvous where anonymity was necessary. In any case, my room was serviceable but not particularly comfortable. The Nespresso machine leaked during my first use and I avoided using it again because of that. The room also did not have hand towels when I checked in. And they weren't replaced when the room was made up for the day. However they did take the towels that I left on the floor. For some reason I found a towel in the wardrobe. I don't know why they would be put there. I would forgo their breakfasts. It was £20 of acceptable food with indifferent service. The salt and pepper mills at my table were completely empty and of course there was no one around to notify. My breakfast was rapidly cooling so I had to look around other tables for mills that were filled. I had to go thru another two sets before finding a set that had salt and pepper. You can get better meal deals in town, for example brunch at the Pump House adjacent to the Roman Bath. For less than £20 you get a selection of poached eggs on a muffin with ham, salmon, or spinach (i.e. eggs Benedict, salmon Benedict, or eggs Florentine) and coffee or tea in an elegant setting and a pianist providing great music. You also get the chance to taste the spa water. Despite what appears to be a tepid review of the hotel, I would return in hopes of a better experience.

Many good things about this hotel, great location and comfortable rooms and front desk staff is very nice, shout out to Emily who was very helpful on multiple occasions. Unfortunately on our last night we were woken at 3 in the morning by an alarm going off from a little system in the wall near the floor in our room next to the bed, what googling the name showed to be a refrigerant alarm, and had to change rooms in the middle of the night as it wouldn't stop and we were concerned about what the alarm may signify (we were told it was just a low battery but the unit going off doesn't take batteries, it is always wired directly into the buildings electrical supply). Was surprised when telling the story at checkout the next morning there wasn't any offer of at least a partial night's refund or any recompense for our lost nights sleep. Probably a fluke and most people will have great stays, but definitely not somewhere I'd be returning to.

Almost had a full argument on checking out with the staff claiming we had to pay (we had pre-paid). Only after producing evidence they backed down with no apology. Otherwise, a nice stay.

We have stayed in several of the hotels in the Pig group, and this is our top favourites. The location, surrounded by countryside, is perfect for an 'away-from- it-all' stay. The building, with a taste of the homely country big house, is perfect for a relaxing glass of something by a log fire. Great food and drink and really comfortable bedrooms with great views. Above all, the staff are wonderful, attentive, friendly, relaxed but very professional and helpful. We had an amazing long walk there, and felt perfectly at home during our stay. Yes, of course we will be back! Sending our best wishes to all the staff. Colin and Brenda. 😃👍

Coming here around 11am it was packed however, manage to secure a seat as someone left a table near the door. Ordered oat cappuccino and carrot cake the barista recommend me to try it wasn't disappointing. The baristas all smiling, the atmosphere was lively yet warm community coffee vibes, you definitely can sit there for hours doing people watching or just killing time. One of my absolute coffee shop in Bath, if you have time this place is a must visit
