So, 7 miles into what the other half had promised would be a “short walk from Rhosneigr” we stumbled across this lovely hotel. The bar was closed and it was very peaceful. We were thirsty and hungry. I ventured in and received the warmest welcome - I cannot thank the ladies enough, even with a closed bar they gave us drinks, crisps and water for the dogs. Thank you so much. We promise to come and spend some money in your bar/restaurant and will donate to the RNLI in thanks of your kindness 😘👍🏻

So from my review yesterday, what a shambles in the restaurant this evening! An hour wait to get food, same starter of prawn and avocado salad as so good the night before and abysmal in comparison. Staff very apologetic but not an acceptable standard and no consistency. Management need to sort out food quality standards and long service wait, it is like they can't cope and seem to have plenty of staff. I will come back, but doubt I will eat here again. Can't fault the staff and reaction to the complaint but not a happy punter! Cancelled my main as past hungry to eat. Maybe just a one off bad day, so benefit of the doubt and hope my next visit sees an improvement.

We had booked the hotel for our last night of our holidays and of course decided to check out the restaurant and bar too! Staff did the basics but weren't particularly warm or welcoming. Barman was fine, it was more the restaurant staff that left us lacking. A large menu, but food that arrived was mixed. Huge amount of veg served by literally being dumped on side of plate. My steak and Guiness pie was very stodgy (and seemed like it had been microwaved) with a seperately pastry lid placed on top of dish. Chips were limp and tasteless too. My husband did say that his fish pie was tasty though. Very disappointed. Need to reduce the menu dramatically and then work on doing a limited amount of dishes better!

We arrived after a recommendation from the Campsite we were staying on so walked over with our Dog - We were told by Prydwen who gave us a lovely welcome that we could take our choice of tables in Molly's Bar with the dog, where there were big leather booths or tables and chairs, lots of pictures of the Hawks from RAF Valley on the walls too :) We sat down and had our drinks order taken straight away by Emmie (a fellow Mancunian) and were passed menus with a wonderful choice of food, I had the Orange and Cointreau Pate and the Ham and Eggs which were both wonderful, Emmie made sure we always had drinks including Cooper who loved the attention he was getting. We ordered dessert (ice cream for me and apple pie for the hubby) which we could barely finish as the portion sizes were fab! The barman had some great music playing, which I happily sang along to, as did the barman which made it such a lovely laid back atmosphere. We were given a send off as lovely as our welcome and we happily toddled back to the site. There is parking out front for those who prefer to drive.. Will definitely be back to try all the other food we wanted to try :)

We were staying in a nearby campsite and booked this restaurant for a meal. First problem in the bar - there was no beer! Second problem - about 5 items on the menu were 'off'. There seemed to be no fish based dishes at all. We waited at least half an hour before anyone took our order and even then we had to ask a passing member of staff. We then waited ... and waited ... and waited. By the time 1hour and 15 minutes had passed, we still hadn't received our starter despite reminding passing staff on two occasions. The second person we asked was more senior and she was frankly rude to us. The food when it arrived was actually good. In particular the Madras curry was excellent but the whole evening was let down by poor service. OK - they may have had staffing problems but that was no excuse for rudeness. It's interesting that we met someone who had eaten there the previous night and they mentioned one very rude member of staff and it wasn't difficult to identify that it was the same one. The junior staff were considerably more pleasant but seemed run off their feet. There is no excuse for this

Had 4 few meals here over six nights just last week while we stayed nearby. We found the food OK. Not brilliant but acceptable. The problem was the service. The staff were lovely but clearly had no proper training in how to wait on tables. Right from when you are sat down they miss key opportunities to make the business some money. Not being asked if you would like a drink or a look at the wine list is just criminal in the hospitality industry. Two out of the four bottles of wine were warm and on one occasion they actually had run out of ice so it came in a bucket of water. At the end of the meals we were offered desserts but this was not followed up by offers of coffee or liquers. As I said the staff are lovely and once asked do their best to deliver but what this place needs is a decent restaurant manager to train the staff and the owners would see the takings rocket I am sure. You may ask why we returned four times. Well as I said the food was OK and The cymran was the only place remotely near where we stayed.

Living locally, we've had food in the cymyran now and again, and it's not always been the best to be fair. However, we gave it a shot in January & were pleasantly surprised! They've got a smoker (?) So have various smoked dishes available, and they are bloody lovely. Smoked chicken and smoked belly pork tried & loved! New chef from the white eagle has brought some improvements with him. Making this our regular eatery from now on!

We were a party of 17..lovely waitress catered for us. Food came out was lovely, children portions very big. Then the lady owner came to check on everything and we were rudely abused by her drunken antics, obnoxious old hubbard thinking she was right..then it downed on me no wonder we were the only guests there..people are put off by her rudeness. She obviously shouldnt be front of house. Shame! Old bag spoilt it. No one from party will be there again!

We recently had my husband's birthday party here. We had a hot buffet which was very reasonably priced and we more than got what we paid for, not your usual run of the mill food! The staff were friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. A fantastic venue for a Wedding/Celebration of any kind. Definitely worth a visit!

We tried this restaurant for a birthday celebration but were disappointed by both the food and service. The duck and noodle soup starter contained soggy noodles and was tasteless and one of the ham and cheese croquettes had lost its filling during cooking so had been hidden away at the bottom of the bowl, an empty shell and it's filling below. The crispy pork main wasn't crispy though the meat was tasty and the roasted vegetables, whilst hot, hadn't seen enough of the oven to actually roast and the plate was swimming in grease. The pheasant breasts were rather dry and solid and would have benefited from a sauce but the mash was tasty. The spaghetti bolognaisse (being the third choice dish as the first two choices were not available) tasted like the sauce had come out of a jar and the mince was very finely ground, was served on a bed of tagliatelle! This dish would not have been chosen had the diner known in advance that they didn't have any spaghetti either. Whilst an alternative was offered, this would not then have been served with the other meals so the waitress did knock this off the bill. No one asked if things were OK and we didn't venture into the sweets. It was a disappointing experience and not one we will be repeating.

We were invited to a family lunch here on the Sunday before Christmas. There were only two or three others at the bar when we arrived and it seemed very quiet considering it was so close to christmas. There was 20 in the party and we got drinks at the bar and were then taken to our table. We had all chosen our food a week previous. Starters began to appear at the table but it took a long time for everyone to get what they had ordered, I had soup which was not hot but was ok. Starters were cleared and then main course started to arrive, it all came out of the kitchen in slow and haphazard way served by staff who didn't display any Christmas joy, this took a long time and by the time everyone had their meal it was cold. My turkey dinner was awful, the turkey meat was stone cold and the vegetables were Luke warm apart from the potatoes which were hot. There was beef gravy on the table and my wife enquired if there was any gravy for the turkey, there was and it arrived, it was a disgusting buttery liquid. Sweet was acceptable, but was marred by the previous courses. The biggest shame of all about the meal was the fact it was a family treat that our host was paying for so it was awkward to complain directly to the hotel whilst we were there. We will not return.
