Can you please train up the staff from Myanmar. He does not know his sashimis and tried to smoke me when he was trying to tell me what is what. I asked him what it was again and he said he’ll check again and get back to me but he did not. The Italian guy was great but he mentioned twice we will have 6 drinks when he served the first pairing drink for the scallops AFTER we had finished the scallops. We only had five drinks. Really not the kind of service you’d expect after paying close to £400 for two people, really. I did not feel great after the meal. Not returning anytime soon.

Wish I could give this place 0 stars. Some very good dishes (crispy rice tuna, a special roll with shrimp tempura and miso cod), some that were eh (spider roll not fresh, fatty tuna a bit fishy, oysters had too many flavors so you could not tell they were oysters) and Kobe hot stone steak poor quality especially for price. But reason for 0 stars is while we were finishing (yes chewing) a 400 pound meal they gave us a 10 min warning they needed table back-we were not told this when seated (that we had 1.5 hrs), they were the ones slow serving (we are always laughing we are fast eaters) and SHAME on them for doing so given the price tag. Once they realized their faux pas they did apologize with desserts that we could not eat in 10 mins (and sorry we did not want your apology at that point). I hope you show more class to the next customer who overpays for very average food at your place.

The food is amazing but I don’t think that a place with that kind of price should see normal to press customers to finish because they re-book the tables to soon. We ordered a fair amount but we told the waitress we would see how we go and then order more later if needed because we didn’t wanted to order too much and then not be able to finish, to what she agreed was a good idea. In the end the food was so good we wanted to order a few more things to try to what the waitress said it was not possible and we needed to ask for the bill as they had another booking and they needed the table back... I asked if at least we were allowed to have dessert and we had a mochi plate and the bill. When you book you can’t choose how long you want to book the table for. They only give you 1hour time slot option and the service is not quick enough to then demand you to leave so soon. We were not trying to stay there without spending money and I found it a bit odd that after spending £412 between 2 persons so far and wanting to order some more they just politely ask you to leave... I think a place like that is meant to be enjoyed in a relaxed way... not being pressed to finish cause you have another booking too soon after you. I believe they should have time slot options that the customer can choose when booking. I would much prefer paying an extra fee to have the table for longer if I think I am going to need extra time than not having the option at all and then having to finish in a hurry.

Good enough portions. I think I would try the 150gees next time. Book in advance to avoid any disappointment

Drove to here all the way from Surrey because I fancied great sashimi and am a lover of raw fish. This little place is nestled around the back of Angel and is quite basic in terms of decor and styling for the prices they charge. The seating is also very uncomfortable and I had backache by the end of the night. However food and drink wise they didn't disappoint. We had an oyster each to start which had amazing texture and flavours and was so fresh you could really taste it. Then we had a mixture of sashimi / seared raw fish. Whilst very fresh, each piece was £5-7 each which was quite steep and the salmon and tuna (normally my favourite) were quite bland. What did stand out though was the butter fish. So personally, in future, I would definitely stick to the butter fish sashimi. The seared dishes weer nicer because the sauces were amazing. Then we had 2 sushi rolls - crispy prawn and 9 chapel. Both were amazing. Then I couldn't resist a bit of the Australian steak. I didn't go for the Kobe because it looked super fatty on the hot stone and, whilst I like the fat on my meat, it just looked a bit "deep fried" but I wanted to try the hot stone so had the sirloin. It was really lovely but needed sauce / seasoning to make the flavour pop. TBH, I have had better steak. The aubergine which accompanied this was lovely. Cooked to perfection and such intense flavours - just beware - it's a half of a large aubergine so a very big portion! For drinks we had hot sake - 2 carafes - and this was perfect with all of the dishes. really went well with the various powerful flavours and also helped cut through the fattiness of the meat and the fish. To end, I had a glass of plum wine which was probably the best plum wine I have ever had - not too sweet and perfectly chilled and crisp. Overall the meal was amazing but I have downgraded to 4 stars because £250 for 2 was just far too high a price and the restaurant and food did not have the wow factor to warrant the price tag, plus the sashimi was a little bland. The staff were lovely and the service was faultless. Just a shame they had to wear stupid masks. Ridiculous and I feel sorry for everyone who is forced to do so. Glad I have tried it but would only go back for the butter fish, sushi, sake and plum wine!

I have been a fan and advocate of Hot Stone ever since they popped onto my Instagram last year. I got some takeaway food from them during the lockdown, but although it was as great as ever, nothing compares to the experience of an eat-in meal. It's great to see this team back delivering fantastic food and service and also the efforts they have made to keep everyone safe. Yesterday was the first time I tried one of their hot stone dishes and the Waygu beef did not disappoint. The dish was so good and tender, the meat literally melts in your mouth! I will definitely be back soon!

We came here for my fiancé's 30th birthday dinner with my sister and her husband. It had been recommended by numerous people so we came with high expectations. Fortunately, those expectations were met
