My Mum and I went for a Sunday lunch. We were thoroughly looked after - nothing was too much trouble. The service was phenomenally quick and the food was fantastic! Thank you so much - keep up the great work! Mum and I will be back - it is a guarantee!

A friendly welcome by the hosts. Good food cooked really well and big portions at a very reasonable price. Highly recommended.

Had Sunday lunch here today and thoroughly enjoyed it. Simply 3 choices of roast for main and 3 puddings. The food was no frills, just like home cooked, very tasty, plentiful and served hot. The service was very fast, friendly and professional. Great value for money. We'll definately be going back.

If you like homemade chips, deep filled homemade beef pies or ample seafood fayre then this is the place for you.IThe food was " Just like my mum used to make" which is the highest compliment I can bestow. The owners are warm and friendly and the aptly named Horse and Jockey, is full of memorabilia from their own days with their own racehorses. This is a place that still comfortably feels like a traditional pub with added benefit of delicious wholesome fayre. You cannot go wrong with calling in to try it out.

The best Sunday lunch we have had in ages. Friendly and efficient staff. Great value for money. As our new local will be visiting on a regular basis. Thank you all.

My husband surprised me to have lunch with him so off to our local.Neil and Anna are very welcoming, as a wheelchair user not always used to this, while access a bit difficult they could not of been more helpful. The service was excellent,food was excellent, hot and freshly cooked. Followed all social distancing, Can't recommend enough

I had battered fish and chips the fish was raw when I complained they said they used a probe to see the correct heat you do not need a probe to know when fish is not cooked

Mid week visit to this place after recently moving to the area we were really pleasantly surprised We all really enjoyed the food and great value and we eat out a lot My wife had a delicious homemade steak pie and I was so spoilt for choice I had 2 meals for 12 fish and curry both really good and my kids demolished their meals definitely our new regular

Been a few times now the bar has been done up to a high standard and is nice and clean the restaurant serves great food consistently the chips are home made 100% it’s defiantly worth a visit you will go back for more

Our second visit to this delightful pub. The homemade food is delicious. The pub is very cosy and clean . It will certainly be our first choice whenever we fancy a meal out.

This pub is great, We call in and have a meal every time we holiday in Milford Haven The Landlord and his Wife are very friendly. They also recognise us when we phone from home in Bristol to book our table on arrival. You will not find a nicer pub than this anywhere.

What amazing curry this pub has to offer. I choose 1/2 and 1/2 the chips you could tell were homemade. Nice fair share of tender chicken which was cooked in the curry. To say we were very happy.

Very welcoming pub. The couple who run and I assume own the pub were lovely people. Friendly service at the bar whilst getting a drink and very attentive friendly service in the restaurant. The doom bar was lovely and I was told the house white was nice the menu is traditional and the portion sizes generous. The food is tasty. Thinks for having us.

Not a nice experience eating in this place. Our Sunday lunch commenced with a thin salty soup. The main course wasn't too bad but I'd had much better for less. My daughter in law doesn't like gravy and asked for a pat of Butter instead. The request was not well received. 3 of the party opted for sweets. The "rice pudding" was foul tasting inedible slip and the episode was not very appetising. When this was drawn to the staff's attention the barman became very aggressive and set out to embaress the whole party for not liking the slip served. To add insult he then tried to insist that all the party should pay for sweet vourse, not just the 3 that has a sweet. If your thinking of eating here I would suggest you drive past and head elsewhere.

Phoned at the last minute but they managed to get us in a lovely sunday lunch ,good price nice staff very helpfull .

We absolutely love this place, the food is always fantastic, the staff bend over backwards for you. It really is our favourite place to eat! If you want excellent home cooked food & plenty of it at a reasonable price then the horse & jockey is a must

HORRIBLE! I have never had roast ham taste that horrid, everyone I know who has visited here has had something bad to say, the service is awful, the waiters/waitresses are about as enthusiastic as robots. I HATED IT!

The pub provided the wake with its own area. A mainly cold buffet was provided, along with good hot coffee and tea, as well as the normal bar drinks.

A lovely evening helpful staff a lovely meal, with a great choice of veg way more than we could eat. would go again.

Just popped in for a bite to eat on a horrendous night and were given a warm welcome by the staff. Food was serve quickly and piping hot, just what was needed.

We went to Horse and Jockey with my sons and partner, friendly staff and good service. Food was nothing special we had four starters mushroom starter had strange sour taste?? Main plates were full with salad, coleslaw, chips and whatever you ordered. We had two ciders, cloudy from pump which was lovely cola and a bottle of rose. The room was empty except for us and there was no music only noise from bar. Our bill came to £125 which we though was a little expensive, have eaten in better places and paid a lot less for better food and atmosphere.

Just returned from having lunch at the Horse & Jockey. Had a fab lunch with great size portions and staff were very welcoming. If you have not been there recently then you need to give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

Visited for lunch, pleasantly surprised! Good portions (can have a small plate for smaller appetites) of good quality food for good prices! However we were the only ones here having lunch. Give this local business a try!

Se han pasado muchas veces aquí, pero decidimos probar el almuerzo la semana pasada. Excelente carta, generosas raciones de comida bien preparada, bien presentado. El ambiente era buena, el servicio excelente y el personal muy agradable. Todo el lugar estaba impecable. Sin duda volveremos, mejor lasaña que he probado.

Hemos estado dos veces para comer el domingo y disfrutamos de la comida cada vez. La comida era abundante y de buena calidad como los gustos caseros. Luego nos fuimos a la última semana para un almuerzo a mitad de la semana, este también era excelente, recomiendo el pastel de carne con cerveza. El personal es muy agradable y el servicio es impecable.

This pub looks a lot better than when we passed it last year ,so we thought we'd give it a go, food was of reasonable quality and price,we had to sit outside as we have dogs but apart from one meal arriving at a time ( waitress couldn't carry two plates) it was quite pleasant

I was 3 family members and we had a difficult time selecting food from the menu, such a good selection. The portions of food we ordered were very generous and most enjoyable.......... the homemade chicken curry was well...just like being at home !!! The lasagne was lovely, the burgers cooked to perfection...... Basically - excellent food and I look forward to my next visit.The staff were very friendly, jovial and there when you needed them.....mmmm another Guinness please.....

Food being deliverd before customers sat down not even family was complete rushed ide say never book a family meal terrible no sauces with steak meals had to pay extra and ice cream and sauce 4.50 burgers rare not worth the money at all and no back ground music especially 80 th birthday never be booking agin

Me and mum in law had a quick lunch, we went for the smaller meals. I can tell you it was ok for the price, under £5 you can't go wrong. Mum in laws meal was much more than mine and the chips seemed to be cooked a few to many times. Not had a full meal there as of yet but will update you when we do.

Popped in for a meal this evening and we were very lucky to get a table, booking is definitely advisable! Meal was lovely, proper home made chips and the onion rings were delicious - better than those awful, mass produced, breaded things! Lasagne was delicious and portions were very generous, we will definitely be back. Highly recommended!

Since being taken over in 2015 the pub has had a makeover with a lovely beer garden. The food is fantastic my favourite is the chicken curry. I may be biased but it is my local

Ate here one night on our holiday, nice friendly pub and the menu was very good. Everything is traditional home cooking and plenty of it, really enjoyable and the staff really wanted to ensure we enjoyed our visit. Well priced and would recommend.

We ate out here on the last night of our holiday and it was one of the best pub meals we have had for a long time.. The prawn cocktail was the best ever! Much of the food was obviously homemade and of a very good standard. The staff were friendly, pleasant and polite. Hygiene is obviously taken very seriously and we witnessed the tables being meticulously cleaned with anti-bacterial spray in between customers. For good, wholesome pub food I would thoroughly recommend this place.

Went here for my nephews Birthday meal and it was so good. I had the lasagne and my daughter had the ham, egg and chips. Both were perfectly made. There were 16 of us altogether and we all had different dishes yet there was not one complaint from any of us. The food was cooked to perfection, it was hot and there was no long wait. It was also reasonably priced so what more could you ask for. The staff were polite, professional and they made you feel welcome. I would definitely eat here again.

Six of us went here for a meal, first time since the new owners had taken over. Excellent choice on menu, and plenty of food on the plate. We didn't have to wait long considering most of had different meals. Lovely and clean, staff polite, most certainly recommend this place to people.

Great service good value for money great portion sizes lovely warm welcome off staff and lovely clean comfy restaurant will definitely be going back.

We had mixed thoughts after reading that the proprietor had recently been taken to court over health and hygiene matters. This seems to have been rectified we had a good meal with quick service and what we had was of good quality (advised of a local butcher ) the prices were very cheap and we had more than 4 people could have finished. Overall a decent meal out and change from £20 couldn't go wrong

We thought wed book a quiet meal together as not very often. I ordered a sirloin steak med rare this was a chunky steak cooked perfectly for a bargain price of £9.95 and a peppercorn sauce which was homemade too... we were impressed and couldn't finish all the chips or have dessert as couldn't move. we were the only couple in there until leaving them another couple arrived - very quiet that normal so advise people to go there as cracking home made pub grub at good value prices which you don't get often.

Popped in with my partner for a sunday lunch it was one of the best sunday lunches we have had out . The staff where really friendly and the place was clean. Will defaintly go back again and recomend it to friends

Called 'on spec' & pub was very quiet but they opened the dining room for us 'because it was warmer', prepared an excellent meal at the cooks suggestion..a vegetarian pie which was GORGEOUS. Clearly home made as was the Steak & ale pie chosen by my companion. The owner/cook then came out to see how I'd enjoyed it. We had a really pleasant lunch and will come back

Saw cars parked outside the pub so decided to stop for a meal it was not a good decision.The meal was edible but that is the only compliment I can give.I will not be returning.

having visited the horse and jockey in steynton we were very pleasantly surprised by the wonderful atmosphere , the friendliness of the staff and absolute quality of the food. we were served by Leanne at the bar and at the table, she was totally professional and super efficient . we ordered 3 different meals and everyone of them was cooked to perfection with the sirloin and fillet steaks both cooked perfectly the way we had ordered. we could not fault any of the food in any way. with 3 empty plates and appetites satisfied. I was also impressed by the prices . we will certainly be returning and I would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone. well done and thank you Angie for the best cooked steak I have ever eaten in any pub ever.

Ate here tonight as we were a party of 14 and nowhere else in Milford could fit us in. All in all we had a great night, it was a birthday and the birthday girl received a free drink which was a nice touch and the staff were very accommodating. When it came to ordering the menu was very limited and more suited to lunch than evening meals and staff seemed to have trouble taking the orders (they came around 3 times re-taking it). When the food came it was ok, basic pub grub in large quantities, nothing amazing but nothing terrible either. Staff very helpful though and like I said massive portions. Not my cup of tea but could have been a lot worse

My family and I live within walking distance and eat at the pub on a reular basis. The food is always lovely and very good value for money and the staff are always friendly and efficient.

We dropped in on the off chance there was space, well there was lots of space. There was only an older couple sitting down,that should have told me then that the food was not as great as I have heard about in the past.It took for ever to get served,we had a starer of veg soup that tasted like it came out of tin cheap but it came with a nice hot crusty roll.again waiting for what seemed like for ever out came the main, we all had beef again it was like the sliced packet kind the roasts were the frozen easy type and the Yorkshire had see better days, as for the veg that came all mixed up together apart from the boiled new potatoes.The gravy was taste less, oh almost for got about the peas cheap frozen and hard.Sorry but there was nothing good to say about the food :( we ate what we could because we paid for it and at £10 + ahead not good value for money. Shall I always heard good stories about the Sunday meals in the past.

Myself and my family eat here very often, whether this be sunday lunch or a steak on the wkend. Cant fault the cooking, sometimes the waitresses could do with being a bit more friendly but sometimes they can be rushed off their feet so this is understanding anywhere you go, other than this everything is great. Food and drink prices are fab too, very good value for money.

Well worth a visit, food and service outstanding. Nice ales. Parking is limited is the only con as far as I can see.
