What an amazing concept! Beautiful venue , such a warm and relaxed atmosphere , coupled with outstanding food and spot on service! A truly special dining experience from these professional restaurateurs. The introduction of the courses and the source of the ingredients by Steve adds to the enjoyment of the food! Set Menu, bring your own and pay in advance , means the evening flows without distraction . We will be back for sure!

Once again we had some of the most amazing food,every time we come back we are treated to a spectacular experience. I can only compare it to like being at the master chef final .

Celebrating my wife's surprise 70th birthday at H&H was truly unforgettable. With the help of Jules and Steve, we pulled off a surprise that left everyone in awe. Even though many of our guests had lived nearby for years, they were discovering this gem for the first time, just like us. The meal was beyond words, impressing all our guests, and we're already planning to come back for their famous Sunday lunch. H&H isn't just a restaurant it is an experience; it's a place that captures hearts with its warmth, delicious food, and charming atmosphere. We can't wait to return and make more memories there.

A very unique dining experience with INCREDIBLE food! i cannot stress enough how amazing the food was! The hosts were welcoming and truly cared about our experience. I went as a solo diner and met a lot of new friendly people, who i shared this new experience with. I honestly can't wait to go back!

This is the 2nd time we went there and as always the setting is pure magic which makes it a unique dining experience. The food is excellent and the hosts are just so very welcoming and attentive. Will definitely go back for more.

A chance conversation with a virtual stranger sent us to Horrell & Horrell, and what a great evening we had. There is no menu as such, it’s 4 courses of the most original tasty food we have ever had. Proper food, no pretensions, no deconstructed nonsense, quite brilliant. And you take your own drink, no rip your arms off bar bill, no extortionate ,overpriced Vino de Plonka. Sitting shoulder to shoulder with a complete stranger, having my dinner is not something I have considered before. If you are a I Want To Be Alone Type, it’s not for you, if you enjoy meeting people., having interesting conversations, all nice and socially friendly, with great food, then go it’s a cracking night out! We will definitely be back, in the spring, apparently the garden is amazing!

This is one of the truly special dining venues in the whole of the South West. Steve and Jules Horrell, along with their children Lauren and Harvey, welcome you to their stunning long barn which sits on the edge of their property. Steve, whose inspired cooking was responsible for putting Roth Bar & Grill on the culinary map, is your chef for the evening. And Jules, his extraordinary wife, runs the "front of house" along with their two children. I've been half a dozen times and the food is always AMAZING! Steve is a genius with seasoning and cooking over an open fire and virtually everything they serve is grown by them or sourced locally. But the food, as wonderful as it is, is only part of the experience. It's the beauty of the venue, and Steve and Jule's warmth and passion that makes this place so exceptional. This is hospitality as it should be--every guest is a VIP, and the experience is so much fun that we've left with new friends each time we've gone. And by the way, we've hosted a large group here, and we've gone just the two of us, and it's wonderful either way. I can't recommend Horrell & Horrell highly enough! Make your reservation now!

Absolutely sublime ... ! I waas blown away at the space , it could not have been more picture perfect , ticking all the boxes of cosy winter charm and decadence!! Greeted by hot toddy's the night was already off to a good start ;) The food was out of this world , each dish equally fantastic. Jules & Steve Horrell were very attentive and the vibe was intimate and friendly. I loved it so much I booked again for my birthday next March .. ! Absolutely recommend !!!

Everything about this place is stunning. First, a lovely person in high viz meets you in the road to tell you where to go. Then, there's an intriguing leafy lane leading to a gorgeous courtyard with fairy lights and flares and a wonderful curve-roofed converted animal shed complete with gullies. Inside there is a long table, beautifully decorated with rustic boards, flowers, sparkly cutlery and glasses. The sides and roof of the shed are adorned with interesting finds from the farm. There are old dressers and shelves lined with bits and pieces for scale including preserves and other edibles made on site plus a selection of plates and pots etc made by local craftspeople. A fabulous wood burner takes the chill off but there are blankets on the backs of all the seats if it gets too cold. And that's all before the food arrives - which on our night was a selection of glazed beetroot, savoury granola, burrata and homemade bread - all utterly delicious. The main was slow cooked juicy lamb with squash in a rich sauce served with celeriac an potato dauphinoise and January King cabbage. Pudding was apple turn over and an exceptionally creamy custard. Jules and Steve Horrell take care of cooking and front of house whilst their children help out with directing, serving and clearing. The atmosphere is warm and happy. It is also very reasonably priced.

Steve and Jules have produced a very interesting eating venue...mulitiple diners at a single table seating around 30 diners. The location is quite rural and the barn they use has been superbly modifide with the most interesting decor with a variety of items on display,creating a very stylish and welcoming atmosphere.

Dinner at Horrell & Horrell, nestled away in the most beautiful Somerset countryside was hands down the most magical dining experience we have ever had. We arrived in wet and wild weather but from the moment we parked the car to the moment we left, it was pure magic. Jules and Steve are the ultimate hosts and the experience they have created in Sparkford is unique. If rustic chic exists, this is it. We arrived to a roaring fire and enjoyed a non alcoholic fizz whilst catching up with Jules (the ultimate host). It was impossible to notice that it was mid October and the weather was terrible. Cosy and intimate, yet sociable - we definitely felt the sense of community and support for this incredible business as we sat at the beautifully styled table. We loved the introduction of the dishes, the story telling that Steve - founder/Chef gave about the provenance of the ingredients, sourced footsteps away from where we were dining. And wow - to every dish, I am vegetarian and was truly blown away by the combination of ingredients and felt so well looked after (and full!). The service was impeccable, plenty of time to savour each dish and attention to detail in every way. We left feeling warm, full, happy and stunned at this slice of paradise. It's little surprise that Horrell & Horrell have received such incredible attention from the media, rightly so, this is one hot destination.

Horrell & Horrell is a fabulous fork to table experience created by Jules & Steve Horrell, previously of At The Chapel and The Roth Bar & Grill in Bruton, so pioneers of the much lauded Bruton food movement. This is their first sole collaboration based around their small holding at their home in Sparkford, Somerset. What you see around you is what you eat, together with food sourced from the couple's favourite local producers. It is a real field to table feast for the tummy as well as the eyes. Their restaurant is set up in a barn that Steve built at the bottom of their garden in amongst their small holding. A four course meal cooked by Steve is served at a set price around one long collaborative table. It works incredibly well and makes for a unique dining experience. The interior is lovely: the pair have over past few years collected oodles of vintage kitchenware and the entire barn is lined with them. So many people have asked if the pieces are for sale that Jules and Steve have now collaborated with a local antique shop in Cary to sell certain pieces - anything with a label on it you can walk away with in exchange for a few pounds or two. We can't rate this highly enough. This is local food, served in a local setting at its best.

The rain held off, the log burner was lit, the welcome drink ‘noughty’ was poured by Jules and all was glowing with candles and plenty of autumnal bounty! A long table all set with a mix of old and new, candles and sparkly glasses. Steve came out to describe the food - beautiful flavours of all the local seasonal veg, some from the village and some from the allotment beds, superb bread warm from the wood oven, tender partridge served with polenta, roasted squash and kale with hazelnuts, and a wibbly panacotta with quince. Warm atmosphere, superb food, blankets to snuggle up in, such a unique setting in the barn - and the service was spot on! We are very lucky to have such a special place close by. Almost want it to be a secret we keep….!
