Me and my friends came for bottomless brunch the drinks and food were amazing and the staff were all so lovely and helpful

Sunday dinner today.WOW pork was amazing and I am a very fussy eater!Gravy was perfect! Customer services was very polite and I have no complaints a young boy offered us a desert.carrot cake absolutely amazing! Food and desert was amazing,will definitely be back again!

Came for snacks and a drink with family. Was afternoon and no food on so decided to have drinks. Ordered 2 delirium beers and got charged £9 for one 250ml bottle (equivalent to £20 a pint) - There was no visible price list and when I said I wasn’t paying that for it the woman told me I had to cos she’d opened them. £18 quid for two drinks!!!! I’m telling you, I was robbed. Woman didn’t even crack a smile. At that price I’d want my bartender to smile (I’ve worked in a bar and there’s no excuse for staff to be rude to punters)!!! Won’t be back. I can get delirium from Tesco for £3 and the ambiance at my place is much better.

Walked in to a near empty bar but after hearing good reviews we decided to stay. The menu had quite a few items unavailable which maybe the reason but our choices were available so we ordered drinks & food. Wife went for a smash burger and I chose the original Parmo. Great service by the young lad behind the bar and also the chef making our food. Food took about 15 minutes and was lovely ! 2 meals, 2 Kronenbourg & 1 x pint Coke - £32 Will definitely be returning 👌🏻

Absolutely fabulous, food was exceptional, I had the Lemon and herb chicken and it was delicious, all cooked from scratch, Graham the chef checked personally that all the food was ok for everybody, we were quite a large party and we were all served together and the food was hot, the kids asked for more ketchup and were duly obliged, Ryan offered us drinks by table service, nothing was too much trouble, lovely pub in a courtyard, well worth a visit, I would definitely return

Fantastic service! Food was cooked beautifully, served hot and was a good portion size. Table of 9 and all served at the same time :) Compliments to the chef who personally came and checked everything was okay with our meals and for any feedback. Ryan hosted the table and regularly checked in if we needed anything and for more drinks. Would highly recommend!!

Called in for lunch today. I had Parmo and my daughter had chicken and mushroom pasta. Both were yummy. Service was excellent. Looking forward to going back.

Visited hope and union on Thursday night with my friend. We ordered two starters and we were really disappointed to see the size of them considering the price. Two small prawns for me and three small halloumi fries for him. I politely mentioned this to the lady serving us and she said the portions are small because of the high quality. However, this is a bar just off Stockton high street not exactly fine dining. We decided not to stay for the main meal and went to pay. My friend was then shouted at by the chef for not wearing a mask. The chef shouted it twice and when my friend explained he was sorry the chef replied ‘thought so!’ In a very rude manner. Portion sizes should match that of other restaurants that was only a bit of friendly advice which was responded to with rudeness.

Went for tea with my partner and the food was delicious with great portion sizes. The atmosphere in the beer garden was great and staff were really friendly and attentive. Will definitely be returning and would recommend!

What a lovely venue. Staff and the chefs are great- super friendly, accommodating and attentive - who go above and beyond what you’d normally expect for a Thursday evening! They’re a real credit to the place. We 4 had some lovely food and drinks- will definitely be back!

We had booked the table almost 3 weeks in advanced. When we arrived we were sat on one of the lower tables where half of our table wasn’t under the canopy - it had been raining most of the day so we asked if we could move to the free table under the raised part of the beer garden under the heaters which was declined. We were advised another table had booked this, yet there isn’t any option to book specific tables on booking. It seemed the table had been reserved for a regular, in my view. We had to ask 2 members of staff about a table move and it took around 10 minutes before our drinks order or menus were given. We ordered drinks and food (including paid side sauces) and no sauces were given when food arrived. I had to wait around 10 minutes and ask 3 different members of staff for the sauces we had ordered. Equally when our food was given our drinks were just about empty - no offer or order for drinks. We only ended up having 2 drinks in the two hours we were there due to the lack of service - had staff been attentive to our table we would have had opportunity to order a lot more. The food was amazing, I can’t fault that at all. However the very disappointing service is enough to put me off booking again. It may be that the table is out of staffs eyeline hence the lack of service - perhaps make sure if you book you’re on the raised platform rather than on the sides!

Just had a meal at hope and union, food was gorgeous and the staff were friendly with good customer service. Thankyou we will visit again soon. 😊

I’m a long time frequenter of H&U. It’s my favourite spot for great booze and amazing food. I’ve yet to see any other eatery that has matched H&U for keeping standards up through COVID. The food and service has stayed at a ridiculously high bar throughout what I can only imagine has been a horrendous time for the full staff. You have our gratitude and loyalty guys, good to have you back P.S BEST. ONION. RINGS. EVER!

I’m a coeliac and so asked if the beer and beef burger could be made gluten free if I forgo the bun. The lady I spoke tells me that she will check with the chef and comes back to say that the patty is pre made so has beer in but the chef is going to go to the butchers to get me just a plain beef burger so that I can still have my chosen meal but I would have to wait slightly longer for my meal and is this ok?! Usually, when in pubs and restaurants, if there isn’t an gluten free version, i am told so and that is that but to be told that they were going to such great lengths to ensure that I could have my chosen meal was amazing. The burger was gorgeous and I was in no way made to feel that I was causing any fuss due to my dietary requirements. Thank you! Not all pubs and restaurants do this to ensure that I am catered for so it was very much appreciated.

Food and wine was outstanding and the service was spot on. Staff were extremely friendly and attentive.

Ordered pizzas for the first time, they were delicious and bonus points for the veggie and vegan options.

Although we have been missing eating and drinking in Hope and Union, their takeaway service hasn’t disappointed us in keeping our fix during lockdown! The food always comes in good time and tastes the same great quality as eating in.Can’t wait to be back in!

Awesome!!! Looking one night back in 2020 I played safe and ordered loaded fries hubby got a burger! Well.... we kept going back the food was awesome always arrived hot. Very tasty food and good quality too proper home made food. Can't wait to see brisket loaded fries on the menu again

Been using Hope and Union throughtout lockdown and it has been brilliant, just nice to have a little bit of normalcy during all this.Food just as good, loving the new pizza selection and the staff have been brilliant through what must be a turbulent time and having to adjust to deliveries. A few times where they have had to get in touch, they have done so straight away and sorted the problem very efficiently.Just miss my Vedett now!

Last day at work dilemma, our Senior Manager was up from Bradford and he wanted a H&U only issue was they were closed and didn't open till 4pm....H&U to the rescue and sorted it out for us, great service and great food.Thank you all for sorting it out for us and a big thanks to Stacy for coming in and cooking for us, everyone loved the food and we were all stuffed after.The pic is the Beast Burger, was absolutely amazing

We ordered pizza based on photos we saw on Facebook. Checked their website and ordered a home delivery. Order arrived 70 minutes later (as expected as they explain on the website). Our pizza was great, the garlic bread with cheese was fantastic, the skin-on fries were lovely and we will definitely order the purple 'slaw again. The price of the pizzas is reassuringly expensive and well worth paying the extra couple of £ for in comparison to the rubbish you get from the normal 'pizza takeaways'. I only hope they continue with the home-delivery service when COVID finally ends, as they have a new regular customer if they do. Wil be ordering again this weekend!

Ordered here for the first time tonight, food arrived in under an hour, friendly delivery driver and hot food. The little things such as the way the food was packed showed the attention to detail.The food didn't disappoint either, very tasty, more than enough portion sizes and we will be ordering again very soon to try the rest of the menu! Definitely on the list of regular places in our house now, will be recommending.

Brilliant Sunday Lunch, happy and polite service. I'd heard Hope and Union were offering takeaways during lockdown so thought I'd call in while passing. I'd eaten there before and always enjoyed their menu. Sunday Lunch was cooked and packed for me to take home. It was still hot when I got home but they also deliver. Thanks!

Ordered a Sunday dinner for delivery from here. I preordered it on the Friday and had to phone on the Sunday to check what time it was coming as for some reason there was no way of picking a time or being informed on the website. This was fine though as the staff were very friendly. The food came at the time I was told it would by a very friendly driver and it was delicious. Lots of veg and we had enough to put a plate together for our little boy. Never been to the restaurant before but will definitely be visiting when we can and also planning to order again during lockdown.

Ordered for the 1st time today. Arrived within 60 minutes and food was still a good temperature.I ordered the wrong child's meal (burger instead of chicken gougons) so hoped my daughter would like it - she said it was the best burger she'd ever had from a shop.The driver said he'd forgotten the kids drink and actually offered to go back to the pub to get us one but we said it was fine, not an integral part of the meal. My husband and I tried the beer and burger along with the beast burger. Both were fantastic. My only issue was I couldn't actually eat the beast burger half I had in a bit as too big so had to take it apart. So I'd probably just stick with the beer and burger next time. We also ordered the onion rings and they were the star of the meal, not had onion rings like that for many years. Will hopefully get to go to the pub for a meal once we are allowed but for a special treat the hope and Union is now on our list :)

Booked for Sunday lunch for their earliest slot at 11.45 as have young children. Service was a bit slow but put that down to waitress seeming quite new, ordered drinks and Sunday lunch (2 adults and 1 child). Waited 30 minutes and no food, asked waitress who said they were on their way - ok fine - waited another 15 and still no food. BaringIn mind there were only 5 tables of people and they had all been served and were either eating or finished. At 45 minutes I tried to get the waitress attention but she was nowhere to be seen and the barman was on the phone taking delivery orders - as he had been pretty much the whole time we’d been there. I approached the kitchen (it’s open at the end of the bar) and told them I would have to take the meals away now as we’d been in there over an hour and we’d missed the window for young children to sit quietly and wait. Chef wasn’t impressed, no apology, just said they’d box it up if I wanted. As I walked away I heard the chef say “it’s only been 45 minutes not an hour” behind my back. Charming! Obviously if you can’t serve 2 adults and a kids roast dinner within 45 minutes you’ve got a problem! Baring in mind they had only served 7 covers before us and they only have 5 options on a Sunday. It shouldn’t be that difficult. I assume from the collections and deliveries going in and out constantly and the phone ringing off the hook that they are taking a huge amount of orders and the kitchen are tied up doing that. Fair enough, take away orders are no doubt really important with Covid but they shouldn’t impede on the customers in house. Also the barman shouldn’t be spending 90% of his time on the phone. If you insist on having the phones open, have someone manning it and working with the kitchen to ensure they are not overloaded. Reading through other reviews it seems when they are good they are great but when it goes to pot it’s an absolute disaster. We took the takeaway and in fairness the majority of the dinner was pretty nice, potatoes, red cabbage etc except the veggie bubble and squeak which they either spiked with horseradish because they didn’t like the fact we complained or they buggered up the recipe because it was inedible due to a huge amount of horseradish or wasabi? Very strange. I am hoping they didn’t do it on purpose but as there wasn’t any in the kids portion only the two adults I’m kind of assuming it wasn’t an accident. Overall I’m disappointed more with the general reaction and treatment than the delay. And also no apology and the chef slagging me off / arguing as I walked away. So unprofessional - my complaint was a fair one. We eat out as a family every week and this was the first time we’ve bread H&U (I’ve been with friends before) and I wouldn’t bring family back as it just feels like you aren’t welcome with kids. Lots of other similar places to eat in Yarm and Norton who are more welcoming to be honest.

Was disappointed. When you pay a tenner for a burger as a Friday night treat, it needs to be the daddy of all burgers. I make better myself. As it has 3 patties, it needs to have plenty of cheese, salad and sauce. It had virtually no sauce, even less salad, and I think they must have ran out of cheese. I wanted a juicy, unctuous burger, and I got some dry minced beef in a bun. Chips were quite nice, though, and food was hot.

Waited for 90 mins, which was a little longer than we were expecting, but was ok. The parmo was lovely - proper chicken breast and plenty of cheese - and the skin-on chips were to die for. However, the beast burger was very basic. There was very little salad (a little iceburg lettuce, no onion or tomato) or cheese, which made it a dry eat. It states on the menu that it has bourbon jam and maple bacon, but we could only find a small amount of some sauce which was sweet. If it was meant to be rashers of bacon, they were missing, and if it was chopped up in a sauce, there was so little we couldn’t find it. For the price, I don’t think we will bother again.

We ordered 5.45 for an early tea it arrived at 6.40 bit long for the time of day however it could have been the facr we had lovely fresh cooked skins on fries all though not very many. The beer n burger was tasty however when we opened the lovely take away box very disappointed that both had been tipped up in the bag and burgers had spilled over the chips, my bun was very soggy also disappointed at what little bit of cheese it had was stuck to the box.The burgers where very small would rather have 1 larger one that fits the bun. Really disappointed in the coleslaw it was pink watey cabbage and for £1.20 in a very small garlic pot about half the size of the small take away ones very taken aback when I saw it.On a good note the garlic mayo was lovely and the delivery driver very polite Really not sure its a place I would try again but you never can tell its testing times and maybe it isn't their usual way

Beautiful meal of jerk chicken and lemon rice, sounds simple tastes amazing. Cant wait to come back and try everything else on the menu. Very warm friendly environment.

Have eaten at the Hope & Union numerous times but this was the first as part of Teesside Restaurant Week, lots of choice on the menu, (the monkfish and chorizo starter was delicious). Just the right portion sizes. Staff friendly and attentive, social distancing adhered to also so felt very safe. Looking forward to our next visit.

Visited for Teesside Restaurant Week and they've really pushed the boat on the menu they've put together.Some places have just cobbled together a 3 course menu from what they usually offer but H&U have put new things on to offer a taste not normally on their menu.The tables were clean and in these weird times, the sanitising station was fully stocked. We were asked to take a seat and immediately had our drink order taken and upon the drinks arriving our food order was taken.With each course we felt that our opinion mattered and we were asked how the dish was.Overall, another great experience in this independent gem in the heart of Stockton.

Visited the H&U a few times recently it’s a lovely pub with a great atmosphere. The food is gorgeous especially the homemade burgers and the Sunday lunch. Can I request you do a pork Parmo as I don’t eat chicken. Great pub will be visiting this week

I booked a table at Hope and Union as rated number one in Stockton on trip advisor.We were not disappointed. The service was great, social distancing measures well managed and the food choice was wonderful. I can thoroughly recommend the jerk chicken and rice and the sweet potato fries all were very tasty. We visited Stockton from Milton Keynes and this 5 hour trip to see family was well worth while.Thank you for making our evening memorable, with tasty food and great service

What can I say. Never fails to deliver. Taking advantage of the Eat out to help out last day. We both the 3 course menu and as expected it was amazing. Scallops were delicious and although I had the belly pork the star was the bean stew that came with it. Everyone was working hard, to get the food and drinks on the table as quickly as possible. Social distancing was observed from staff and punters all taking time to observe the rules. It was brilliant to see everyone having a great time and able to observe the rules. Most of all the drink and food as good as I always expect from a quality pub/ restaurant. Keep Up the good work everyone.

Three friends and I went to Hope & Union on Tuesday 18th August.It was gorgeous and such good value, I'd have paid the full price but with the Eat Out offer, it was excellent. I'm vegan so had the three vegan courses, the curried cauliflower was one of the tastiest things I've ever eaten, it was gorgeous, my other friend who got it agreed and we both said we could have eaten it twice!My other friends are meat eaters avd they got the scallops and pork and shared and said they were both really good.I didn't fancy the tagine so they kindly said they could do me the vegan burger from their normal menu, this was tasty and the chips were gorgeous. They even had vegan mayo which was brilliant for me.My friends had a mixture of the bubble & squeak and the pork off the offer menu, they were really impressed and we all kept saying how we couldnt believe we were only paying just over a tenner.Dessert were nice, we all enjoyed them. It's nice to actually have a vegan choice on each course. I had a few pints of the Grapefruit beer which was really nice with the spicy food. It was quite busy and the woman serving us asked if we would mind moving to The Wasp's Nest next door which we didnt, I saw when I'd booked the table was only ours for 2 hours so it was fine.It was pretty warm so we sat outside and it was a nice atmosphere, buzzy and chatty without being super busy. The two lads working in The Wasp's Nest were canny, checking on everyone and adding to the atmosphere.Really impressed, definitely recommend.

Beautiful food, excellent service, what more can you ask for? We took advantage of the EOTHO on the very last day and didn’t we do well!! The food arrived quickly and was delicious. The staff were happy to help and happy to chat at a socially distanced space. Tables were cleaned down swiftly when anyone left. All the tables are far enough apart from others for social distancing to be adhered to. Will definitely be returning again and again.

We recently just moved to Stockton and were hoping to celebrate with a nice meal out, especially with the Eat Out To Help Out scheme still ongoing.We went on Wednesday 26/08 and it was the worst restaurant experience I’ve ever had. First, the social distancing measures seemed to meet the bare minimum, as the whole restaurant and bar was packed with barely a metre in between tables. The hand sanitisers at the entrance were also not refilled and there was only one toilet available for each gender. Secondly, we arrived at 7.45pm for our booking. They took our order at around 8-8.15pm. Our food arrived at 9.30pm. Now I do not like to leave bad reviews, especially for independent restaurants, because I am not trying to tank the business. But this was an incredibly frustrating situation, with our food coming so late, and no updates and reassurances from the staff until the table next to us went up to complain.There were 3 tables left in the bar area (including us) and we were all waiting for our food for ages. The table next to us eventually left because the manager could not guarantee their food would arrive soon, and he even said that they would take another 30-45 minutes. Their interaction was disappointing as well as the manager said he would not charge them for the food (that never arrived anyway!) and would instead invite them back for a free meal. That is simply bad customer service to act like they should be thankful to not have to pay for the meal they never had, and he did not even seek to reassure the other customers. Finally, the food was terrible. I’m sorry, but it was quite obvious that at that point they were just trying to rush something out to the customers. My bubble and squeak was very bad, if I wasn’t hungry, I wouldn’t have eaten it at all. The blackened jerk chicken was bland and the tomato rice was wet and basic. The food does not deserve the praise it’s been getting, to be honest. They were quick to serve us the biscoff cheesecake to go as we were fed up and wanted to leave, and to be fair, the cheesecake was quite good. I am completely aware that this is a tough time for businesses and I understand they might have struggled to cope with the demand. However, there was no one left at the end except for us, and what’s disappointing is that no one could give us a reasonable explanation for the delay. Don’t blame COVID or throw your chefs under the bus, let us know why you would make us wait nearly two hours for a disappointing meal. I did not want to complain on the day as I could see that they were stressed and rushed off their feet. If there was a kitchen fault that created such delays, tell us! Because now I can only assume that the quality of food and service is something to be expected if the restaurant gets a little but busy, which is..... unbelievable for the top ranked restaurant. While your waitstaff are very lovely and apologetic, I can sense their own frustration because they are the ones who have to deal with customers asking about their food, and management hasn’t even given them a good excuse to give. I don’t know what happened that night, but it was a disaster, and it has made me not want to come to your restaurant again.Hope you manage to address and deal with these issues.RegardsSorfina

Walked down a lovely little quaint alleyway way that lit up as we walked through and stumbled upon hope and union. My two kids were treated to the best parmo my little boy had ever eaten his words. I was served with some tasty fish tacos. Next time I'm in Stockton-on-Tees I will be going back.

We have just had a horrible experience here.We gave our order and when the food came, they had missed off a main meal. We had to point this out to them after waiting a while as no-one came to ask us if we had everything or needed anymore drinks. Rather than saying “sorry” or “i must have misheard when we took your order”, she had the audacity to say that we didn’t tell her about our main meal (why we would have ordered one main meal and two children’s meals for four people is anyone’s guess). When she took our order, she didn’t read it back to us, so how were we to know that she hadn’t taken our order properly until our order arrived?She had a VERY bad attitude when we informed her about the missing meal and she then told us it would take 9 minutes; it was almost 30 minutes before it arrived. I am still incredibly shocked by the horrible attitude of the staff - one of them came over and threw down some drinks and said something inaudible - we later realised she’d said “drinks are complimentary”. We did not enjoy this meal, I was so embarrassed to be there. I was with my children and like any parent, we didn’t want them to experience this. I felt very uncomfortable the whole time that I was there with my family. We have been here for a meal as a couple before lockdown and we were looking forward to bringing the children with us (as we couldn’t during lockdown). During lockdown, we have been ordering takeaway food from them on a regular basis (every other week) as we genuinely enjoy the food but to be treated like this when we have been regular customers for a while is not acceptable. We will not be going there again nor will we be recommending it to friends and family as we have done in the past.

Unbelievable food and service received tonight! The food was out of this world and the drinks were reasonably priced! All staff were very attentive, especially Nathan who looked after us all night and made sure we had a wonderful evening. Thank you again Nathan and all who work under the hope and union/ wasps nest! We will see you all again next week!

There's a reason this place is number one. The food is so flavoursome and the staff are so nice, even when rushed off their feet. I'll be definitely making more visits. The menu is always changing so always something new to try 😁

Went with my boyfriend and we got seated and served straight away by Ellie, ordered two Parmos and they were soooo nice. Only downside would be limited space (obviously out of their control) inside for those thinking of during colder days make sure you book (we didn’t) in advance to get inside!

This wonderful little place and its sister pub opposite serve great value food, excellent craft ales and are friendly and helpful. My partner and I ate and drank there all weekend on a recent visit home.

We managed to happen upon a child free evening and I had spotted the set menu in a friend's Facebook feed. We have visited before for drinks, and were a little wary due to the current Covid-19 risks, but were able to book easily online, we're welcomed into available seating and enjoyed a very pleasant (not overcrowded) evening.I was particularly impressed with the Vegan options, and the staff were really friendly. This is a great little place - great tasting food at great value, good selection of drinks, lovely atnosphere - we look forward to visiting again!

Family takeaway tonight as a Friday treat. We love H&U anyway, having been to Burns Nights cooked by them & served in Wasps Nest, eaten breakfast & lunch & had nights out too. We have always been impressed by the standard of food they serve &, with 2 Veggies in the family, impressed with their Vegan & Veg options. Tonight was our first takeaway as we’ve been waiting for some more Veg choices. 2 Parmo burgers went down extremely well with the teen boys, meat eating hubby devoured the Veggie Thai style burger & us 2 Veggies fell on the Vegan Tacos. They were absolutely gorgeous, a bit of a kick, so so tasty, loved the Guacamole sauce & the H&U chips were as gorgeous as ever. Sneaky side of Onion rings was devoured too. A meal for 5 adults/older teens for less than £50 was amazing! 5 stars all round

Ordered a few times during lockdown and was fab every time with fast delivery. This time opted for collection, staff were lovely and friendly and I was even offered a drink on the house while they boxed up my order, lovely touch! Food delicious as always!

We ordered takeaway of loaded fries and a few pints, and we were absolutely blown away by how delicious the food and drink both were!If anyone is on the fence about pubs in the current climate then you will not get any service better than Hope and Union and you can also get it straight to your door!

Wow, We ordered the Sunday lunch takeaway and it didn't disappoint. We've had a few takeaways during lockdown which have all been absolutely amazing. We even got some takeaway beers as well.

We decided to have a take away from here having eaten in the bar a few times and always enjoyed it. I wasn’t expecting it to be the same standard but I was proven wrong. The Parmo was the perfect size with the best bechamel sauce I’ve had. The chips with skins on are like large wedges that are amazing. I appreciated the salad coming separate because previous takeaway I’ve tried put in the box and it wilts terrible but this was fresh and tasty. I was impressed with the speed of the delivery as from order to arriving was 35 minutes I will definitely be using them again.

Ordered food via Facebook page obviously the bar is closed due to some sort of virus that has been nowhere in the media...... Paid via PayPal. Had an email to state order confirmed and food may take 1hr - 90 mins depending on busy period as this was a Friday I thought I'd be waiting close to an hour, so imagine my surprise when I got an email within 20 mins to say my food would be ready for collection. I ordered a Parmo and my Dad ordered Thai Fish burger and friesThe food was freshly prepared and tasted amazing the garlic dip was fantastic. Staff were amazing on collection of food.. pleasantly surprised to also discover a selection of alcoholic drinks could also be purchased!We will be back!

We ordered exceptional food to our door! For starters, we ordered the jerk chicken which was perfectly seasoned alongside side the main of chicken Parmo which was simply the best. The delivery man was chatty and polite while adhering to strict social distancing.

We were booked for a bottomless mothers day brunch but due to Covid-19 and the closure of all pubs, bars and restaurants and our parents isolating them self due to their age we opted for a takeaway.As usual the quality of food was AMAZING I cannot recommend this place enough.In this time of unprecedented uncertainty I for one will be supporting my local businesses with what ever I can to ensure that when this is all over they are still able to operate and us visit them.Keep up the good work guys and stay safe.

After looking for pub grub online, my colleague and I found a top quality place for exactly what we wanted and more. Couldn’t have had better service, better quality food or nicer staff. Would highly recommend.. coming from a welshman and a Scotsman.

Visited here last night with 10 friends. Managed to find 2 tables to put together at the back. It was very busy when we arrived, however service was very quick and efficient. Had the pulled pork burger which was lovely and the homemade chips were amazing! Great value for money! First time visiting and won’t be the last! Highly recommend.

Been meaning to call in the Hope and Union for a while now and finally managed it on Valentines Day. The food and drink were top notch and well priced. The staff were nice and friendly, yes it took a while for our food to arrive but we expected that. I don’t know I just liked the place will definitely call again.

This is one of those excellent places you find only once in a while, they squeezed us in on 14th February and they were very busy. The food was a cut above. Excellent.

A fantastic night last night. We didn't have a parmo this time but went for the specials board. We had the pork chop which was a good size and delicious and battered cod and chips with homemade tartar sauce 'fantastic'. We missed out on the scotch eggs again, as they had sold out, we will keep trying. Apart from the food being excellent, the staff also make it our favourite place to eat and drink they are always helpful and they could not do enough for us to make our night special.

We won a competition for valentines meals for two for free. The food was great, and our server was really helpful and made sure we had everything we need. There was a bit of a wait for food but that’s understandable and to be expected with it being Valentine’s Day. We will be back on a normal day to try some more food.

Arrived here quite late on a busy Thursday night when they were running a promotion of 3 courses for £15. They did warn us of a very long wait for food but we were happy to wait and it was so worth it. The staff are so friendly and accommodating and the food was excellent. Couldn’t fault it. Infact I would have paid more for it! Great wine and craft beer and lager selection too. We visited a bunch of restaurants and bars during our stay and I’d say this is the best spot in town for drinks, food, welcoming service and ambience.

Came here for Sunday lunch, it was absolutely delicious, I had the belly pork and my other half had the beef, everything was cooked perfectly. The cauliflower cheese was devine! Definitely recommend this place, a hidden gem!
