Hope Street Restaurant in Belfast

We just had my husband’s birthday dinner here. Hadn’t been aware of it before. It is such a wonderful intimate restaurant with absolutely delicious food and the most pleasant service. Our server Amal was so sweet and efficient and even the owner / chef Danesh came to chat with us. Perfect menu and excellent food. This family run establishment is absolutely delightful. Even Rick Stein comes to enjoy the food !!! I highly recommend it and we are a fussy pair when it comes to dining out !!

We were intrigued by the reviews and our experience did not disappoint. Anny greeted and served us with a gentile grace. Bring your own bottle if you want wine but we opted for the ginger beer pared with the soup du jour squash and ginger soup. Fantastic! Quite an extensive menu for a small place but every dish that came out of the kitchen looked like a masterpiece. We had the Beef brisket and the Sea Bass. Top ingredients and flavors were exquisitely combined to make a fabulous experience. It was a pleasure to meet the chef after dinner and convey our appreciation. For dessert a simple lemon posset with a berry compote and ice cream. More wonderful flavors and only the best ingredients used. Truly an outstanding experience. Cheers to the chef and the staff. A job well done all around.

I booked this restaurant solely based on Tripadvisor reviews and my partner and I were very happy I did. The bring your own drink was a great touch. The staff had no idea it was my partners birthday yet they treated us like they already knew we were celebrating a special occasion. The food was exactly what we loved. The setting was very comfortable and very clean and the staff were amazing. We will be back. Thank you!!

We decided to try this restaurant based on the reviews and we were not disappointed! It is a small restaurant which can get a little loud, but we had no problem carrying on a conversation. The service is friendly and efficient but we never felt rushed. The food is fantastic. All four of us thoroughly enjoyed our food. The squash soup, vegetable pasta, seafood risotto, brisket and rhubarb crisp were excellent. The prices are very reasonable for the quality of food. One tip-it is BYOB so stop on the way to pick up a bottle of wine. There is a corkage fee which is very reasonable. Can definitely recommend!!

We had booked a Saturday night, but flight into Belfast was delayed so ended getting there about an hour later than expected. I had advised them and they were so accommodating holding our table until we did arrive. Service, food, ambiance and hospitality were all excellent. They could not have looked after us better. Food is of a high standard, good ingredients, cooked well. And all excellent value. Would recommend to anyone visiting Belfast looking for British/Irish cuisine well executed.

This is a real gem of a restaurant. Thai beef to start plus a complimentary serving of Fish cakes. Daube of Beef and Sea Bass for mains. Fantastic flavours, presentation and size of portions. BYO beer or wine with a reasonable corkage charge. Overall it was a fantastic night. We are only here on a 3 night break but have already booked to return this evening.

Run by Indians but not an Indian menu. Good choice of dishes mainly well cooked. Affordable particularly as you bring your own alcohol.

I would highly recommend this restaurant if staying in Belfast, I came here for a meal when up in Belfast to celebrate my father's 60th birthday. The starters were all amazing, the spicy Thai beef strips were lovely, they gave us an extra starter by accident and instead of taking it back they let us have it on the house. The main courses again all lovely but the pork belly and sea bass stood out,the BYOB is a real bonus! The staff also went over and above for my dad to make his night memorable. Thanks a million ❤️

We had the goat cheese fritters as starters and they were amazingly delicious. The rocket salad was just the right acidity and the jam - I could have eaten a bowl of it. I have the green curry and it didn’t disappoint. Just the right amount of curry, vegetables were perfectly prepared and the rice was flavorful and light. Portion sizes were generous and the flavor over the top, sadly leaving no room for desert. Service and ambiance were attentive without being pushy and I appreciated both. Table placement and size along with layout were well orchestrated so that conversational noise was well managed which I appreciate knowing that sometimes it is hard for me to hear a discussion in large and crowded rooms. I go to Belfast periodically and am so glad I chose Hope Street Restaurant, and I would both recommend and return the next time I am here.

Six of us ladies went to Hope Street restaurant last night, where we had a wonderful evening. The food was scrumptious especially the Goat cheese fritters starter, Daube of Beef main and the Salmon. Also the extra complimentary starters were a lovely touch as is the BYO bottle. The staff were courteous and nothing was too much trouble but the manager or lady in charge is just amazing, and has eyes on everything going on in the restaurant.

Just got back to the hotel after a fabulous meal at Hope Street. The starters were delicious and the mains were both huge and fabulously tasty. I described it as fab but not poncey! Just remember to take any alcohol with you. There's a Tesco express 5 mins walk away. Excellent service and a bubbly atmosphere. Highly recommended

Ate here on Sat 2 March prior to going to Ulster Hall for a concert. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The pre theatre menu was very good and had plenty of choice. The food was very good in quality and quantity and at a very reasonable price. The restaurant was very busy but we didnt have to wait too long for our food. Chilli beef was excellent as was the chicken penne pasta and the other chicken dish. We will definitely return and highly recommend to others

My wife and I recently dined again in Hope Street on a Saturday evening - we've eaten here a number of times previously and have always thoroughly enjoyed the experience. This is one of the few consistently good restaurants that we have experienced in Belfast. It is a well run family restaurant with friendly attentive staff and has a welcoming and convivial ambience. Above all they have a great menu with not just the usual suspects that you find in most other places. We had the mouth watering cod bites and chilli beef to start (plus a chicken Caesar salad on the house) followed by generous portions of pork belly and sea bass which were cooked to perfection. Hope Street is reasonably priced and BYOB so easy on the pocket. Can't wait for our next visit.

Our first time visiting Hope Street after a friend recently recommended it to us. Wonderful food, great service and a lovely atmosphere. We ordered the Thai Chilli Beef and Goats Cheese Fritters for starters and the Confit Pork Belly and Battered Haddock for mains. Great flavours with everything we had and great value.
