Service, food and presentation all amazing! Servers were great, was greeting at the door by one of the chefs, and also the server! Food is so yummy and always looks so pretty. Watermelon juice is insane!

Omg!,happened upon this spot after a long Highlands tour...we wanted warm comforting soup...everything was delicious! Hot, fast service, kind staff and awesome atmosphere! Prices were great too! Don't hesitate if you need fresh , hot and delish food!

Good ramen and excellent service. The 50% off Tonkotsu Ramen (which I believe goes until the 1st of April) is a must-buy. Even I won’t mind paying at its normal price. Pork belly skewers are also quite good; though I’d prefer it to be slightly more roasted.

Very good experience and the food was great. I highly recommend the green dragon. The combination of shrimp tempura and avocado is great👍👍. The waiter's attitude is also very good and he patiently recommends various delicacies to me. Come again next time!

Each time we visit Edinburgh we come and have dinner at Hope Izakaya. It's the best Japanese food that we've had, and the staff is always so welcoming and friendly. We can't wait for our next visit ☺️

The ramen was very unpalatable and the portion was small. I had to wait for nearly an hour for the Yakitori. After ordering, no one took the initiative to inform me that the equipment was faulty. It was not until I asked proactively that they said, "I can't make it. I'll refund your meal." The funniest thing is that we refused the 15% additional service charge when paying the bill. We told the female clerk that the reason was that we had waited too long for the roasted bird without informing us. The clerk claimed, "We didn't let you pay for the roasted bird either"! Although the boss came forward to solve the problem in the end, haha, shouldn’t I not pay for the food I waited for a long time and didn’t eat at all? This logic is really amazing.

Average, low value for money. I came here to eat the roasted bird, but the smell of oil overwhelms the taste of the ingredients. The beef rice is pretty good and can fill your stomach. Good service

Stay away from this restaurant if you have severe allergies. After speaking to staff members about my allergy and the waitress supposedly “acknowledging” this they proceeded to served me a starter with exactly what I was allergic to putting me into an anaphylactic shock where I was rushed to hospital. Upon confronting the staff at a later date for an explanation, I received no follow up or apology…

Oh dear! This is not very good. Omelette is thin and dry, not ooey. Fried rice is meh, under seasoned, veg overcooked. Grilled lamb leg is dry and rubbery. Watermelon 🍉 juice is at least nice. But, yeah, who can fail watermelons?

My vegetarian partner ordered omurice obviously assuming it would be classic omurice - eggs and rice, only to find that there was pork in it, upon complaining we were not offered any recourse or refund despite making it clear it was bang out of order. terrible experience

The staff took long time to take and served our order. They even served the other table first who ordered 10 minutes after us. The ramen and the wheel of hope were good but the omurice doesn’t have anything special. The servers also not aware of their promo, we had to remind them.

It’s a lovely restaurant with quality food and very efficient services. It’s my first time visiting this restaurant, and the BBQ foods on the menu are very tempting. I didn’t order them as I have pimples at the moment, so I will give a try next time. The effective serving and service was impressive, the waiter, Ash, he observed every customer needs and would quickly serve them. I am surprised and glad to have such a lovely service in the U.K. I will be back next time. Thanks a lot! There are also a few vegetarian options for both hot foods and sushi rolls. These are really nice to suit various dietary needs of customers.

A nice, quiet and warm environment Sincere service Both waiters (Colin and Justin) have worked so hard, running all night around on the floor. Quite a lot of guests this evening but still the restaurant has offered good service and the food are all nice. Our special needs of having hot water, skipping sauces, a small portion of wasabi are all completely addressed. Efficient and smart staff. Perfect!

We were excited to try the food here having read the online reviews. Unfortunately we were left underwhelmed with the slow service (they seemed to forget where they had sat us and took 25 minutes to take our order) and the attention to detail. One of our dishes came without the sauce, which I enquired about and they brought a side of sauce right away, but overall the rice dish was flavourless. Very pricey too for the quality you receive.

It’s a shop with a nice environment. They basically serve authentic Japanese food. My slight drawback is that the soup of the ramen is a bit bland, but that may be because of the soup I ordered. The skewers are very Perfect, I suggest you try some~

It has such unique barbecue skewers, which was so DELICIOUS - especially the tamago! the udon and ramen were very warm and lovey too. Would love to revisit again and again! The food was okay 3/5. The service was not good. They took forever to come over to the table. We ordered a roll and 2 mains, my main dish came very quick, we had to ask out the sushi roll as they gave it to another table. And then the other main dish was also given to another table, so we had to ask again. She was very apologetic and we got my main for takeaway. They still charged us for that dish even though they had made 2 mistakes. I would not go back to place this ever again. The service was not good and the food was mediocre.

Overall we left slightly disappointed, the udon dishes (curry and teriyaki) were on the bland side and lacked veg and toppings. Felt pretty basic, the food was fine, certainly not great.

It was a really good experience for me. I went in today and was greeted in a really warm manner by the waitress. The service was top notch. I tried the tonkatsu chicken hell ramen and it was so good. The broth was so rich in flavor. Would of-course visit again and again.

We went to dinner because it had very good opinions and total disappointment!! The waiter was a jerk and did not understand what I had asked. It took them 50 minutes to bring us 2 ramen that they practically had ready and because we told them that we were leaving without dinner. It also took a long time for the rest of the tables to be served, but the takeout orders did come out. So we would not return.

I had a lunch set consisting of veg skewer, tonkotsu udon, salmon tartare and matcha dream pudding. Tonkotsu udon came with a delicious pork bone broth, and the chashu pieces were good (could be a bit thicker though). Salmon tartare, with the perfect blend of tender salmon pieces, creamy avocado bites and hot sauce bringing a little kick, was absolutely phenomenal. The matcha dream pudding brought adequate matcha taste and scent while also was mildly sweet. I also got myself a glass of cranberry mikan mocktail, which was a nice to have for its hint of clementine-y sweetness. The food there was so good I definitely consider having a lunch or dinner again in the future. Hope Izakaya is one of the best Japanese restaurant in the City of Edinburgh.

Randomly found this spot in Google Maps and it didn’t disappoint! Everything we ordered was delish! Their Teriyaki Pork Rice Bowl, Tonkotsu Cha Shu Ramen, and their famous Hope Omuriso was yuuuuumyy! Asian craving was definitely satisfied. And the ambience of their place felt like we were in Japan.
