Amazing food. The staff were really kind! I ordered the chicken breast ramen. Thick soup and chewy ramen. And the vegetarian roll was so good!!! And vegetarian tofu udon was so rich!

Fantastic spot for both ramen and udon! The broth was rich and flavorful, and the noodles were perfect. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. Highly recommend!

From the outside, it looked somewhat inconspicuous. But inside it is Japanese style. We got a seat straight away and the service was excellent. The tables are not too close together, so you can have a good conversation. The food came very quickly and was very tasty. We had a small starter (daikon was delicious).

Really good food, but better than the food was the service, very welcoming, also pointing out lunch deals we might like, gave us two matcha desert s and asked our opinion, was very nice, will be back

Any business that denies people from using the bathroom just because they're not a customer doesn't deserve any success. It's a basic human need. I don't care how good your food is and I don't care if this is common in Europe, it shouldn't be a common policy.

I came at a very busy hour but it was worth it. Servers are very attentive, and the traditional omurice was really good! I appreciate both servers and cooks they work very hard! I love the decor, too. From the walls full of polaroid photos to the koi lanterns. It's a small yet very charming place.

Enjoyed the grilled salmon sushi, fried chicken and beef bowl but the chicken udon was pretty flavourless. Had to add a bunch of soy and other condiments from the table to try and make it a bit better.

It’s our first experience at Hope izakaya. The food was superb and the staff were wonderful, very attentive and warm. It’s our wedding anniversary and what a delightful surprise when we received at the end of our meal a complementary dessert of green tea pudding. It was yummy with an authentic Japanese taste. We will come back again definitely. The price is reasonable and the location of the eatery is close to public transport. 👍🏻👍🏻香港人，加油！

What a cute little restaurant! On the way back from dean village, walked by and saw the lunch set. Got the lamb rack curry lunch set, with salmon tartar add on. It’s quite a lot of food for the price! Though I saw that everyone else around my table got ramen…. Maybe I should try that next time.

This is my first time visiting Edinburgh, and I didn’t expect to find such a charming Japanese restaurant here. The food has a very authentic Japanese flavor. My daughter said her udon was delicious, and my husband really liked his curry—it was the slightly sweet kind of Japanese curry that he enjoys. I also loved my fried chicken rice. We really enjoyed this lunchtime experience.

Our new favorite restaurant in Edinburgh! Large menu with photos and all the food is absolutely delicious and filling. Definitely try at least one of the BBQ skewers. We will be coming back!

you can tell they put effort into the food, whilst not everyone understands what it’s like to be in a kitchen preparing food etc. I do and i would love to say to the chef/cooks in the kitchen that i genuinely appreciate the food that they’re making for their customers because it’s simply divine and a lot of effort goes into it. along with amazing service, which i’d like to thank Julia for being an amazing server for us today:) if you haven’t tried Hope before, you should especially since quality and pricing is genuinely amazing. 10/10 imo:)<33

Very nice restaurant in a convenient location just off one end of Princes Street. Large seating space inside. There is a large food selection, with clearly marked menus. There are toilets inside. Staff are friendly and helpful. Service was fast, too. We ordered two variations of the Tonkotsu ramen and udon. It was nice but I was disappointed by the lack of additional food/garnishings. Also, the broth was quite watery and not very tasteful. The pork and vegetable gyōza were really nice. The drinks were very nice, too. Prices were decent.

Incredible place, came right in to excellent service (food all came within 10 minutes) and delicious food. Ordered some mochi and it came decorated with chocolate sauce and berries. Kind waiters. They have very warmly decorated the place with koi fish lanterns at the ceiling, Polaroid photos on the walls. Would recommend 😁

Service, food and presentation all amazing! Servers were great, was greeting at the door by one of the chefs, and also the server! Food is so yummy and always looks so pretty. Watermelon juice is insane!

Great restaurant! Will absolutely come back and try more of the menu. Very attentive staff too and it felt like a premium restaurant! I really liked the range of things on the menu too and it felt like there was a range from affordable light bites; value for money ramen or rice dishes up to sushi (which is priced in line with the rest of Edinburgh).

Omg!,happened upon this spot after a long Highlands tour...we wanted warm comforting soup...everything was delicious! Hot, fast service, kind staff and awesome atmosphere! Prices were great too! Don't hesitate if you need fresh , hot and delish food!

Good ramen and excellent service. The 50% off Tonkotsu Ramen (which I believe goes until the 1st of April) is a must-buy. Even I won’t mind paying at its normal price. Pork belly skewers are also quite good; though I’d prefer it to be slightly more roasted.

Very good experience and the food was great. I highly recommend the green dragon. The combination of shrimp tempura and avocado is great👍👍. The waiter's attitude is also very good and he patiently recommends various delicacies to me. Come again next time!
