Looked delicious. Ordered two pre-made sandwiches and coffee and paid. Although there were only two people seated at a table, all the tables were dirty. We picked up the sheepskins off the floor and sat at the table nearest the counter. We waited, several other people came in and were served. After 15 mins and several passes the waitress said ‘Oh, I’ll clear this up in a minute’ after another 5 minutes we went to the counter and asked for a refund. The waitress said, oh, the order didn’t come through, this has happened before! They were too busy chatting to notice.

This is a superb little place run with great attention to detail from the Scandi interior, handmade branded earthenware through to the menu. The carrot cake is the best I've had in the South West but this morning at 10.30 it had sold out therefore forcing me to widen my culinary horizon to a not so slimming piece of bread pudding which was equally as good if not the best I have eaten anywhere. I would have happily eaten every piece they had... but they would have had to remove the shop front to let me out.

We stopped off at Hooga for coffee and snacks on a Saturday morning, ordering 2 cappuccino's and a sandwich. First the positives, the staff were nice, the coffee good and the sandwich tasty, the only negative I have is that service was exceptionally slow. Slow to the point that my partner went to check they hadn't forgotten our order. Then when I ordered a second coffee I never actually got it as it was so slow it coming that I had to leave before they would eventually make it. All I would say is if you do go then be prepared to be patient.

This is a gem! In and out door seating on a sunny corner of Wincantons High street. Really lovely smooth coffee, with a simple breakfast and lunch menu. Lots of dietary options for vegan, veggie and meat eaters. A tasty selection of cakes again with various dietary options. Service took a little time but all food is freshly prepared and as we were not in any hurry this was not an issue at all. I would go there again and 100% recommend. I feel quite passionate about supporting the small independent businesses who are striving to deliver quality food in difficult times. This place hits the mark for me.

We wandered around town whilst waiting for my car to be fixed at the garage. We spotted some outside seating at the side of Hooga so headed in to order. We ordered coffees and decided to choose two cakes with a view to sharing. There was a little wait to be served as the place was busy but we weren’t in a hurry, the server was apologetic and it gave us time to choose our cakes from the stunning selection on offer! Our order arrived quickly and it was a pleasant place to watch the world go by. The coffee was excellent ( though I’m not a fan of the very chunky pottery mugs- preferring something a bit more dainty) and the cakes were superb. We chose a slice of the chocolate orange brownie and the millionaire’s shortcake. Both were brilliant quality and really, really yummy. We skipped lunch later in the day because the mid morning cake stop was so satisfying. We did look at the lunch menu whilst we were there and that looked really interesting and good value. Unfortunately we are not local enough to make this a regular stop off. However, whenever I get my car serviced or repaired I will make a beeline for Hooga for sure. Highly recommended.

I'd been to Hooga before and the food was fine although the service wasn't that great. My son came to visit and we went for lunch at Hooga. He wanted a milkshake, but they weren't able to do milkshakes, so he had a latte. I had a frappe. We ordered an open sandwich and a standard sandwich and two pieces of flapjack to take away. His latte came first. After a short delay the two flapjacks arrived. He had finished his coffee before my frappe put in an appearance. After that we waited ... and waited ... and waited. I asked a member of staff if our food was coming and she assured me they were 'making it.' Another ten minutes, still no food. The staff member chased it up again and said it would be another five minutes. When it eventually arrived the bread (on both sandwiches) was very dry although the fillings were fine. We had to bolt it down as we had only paid for two hours in the car park and were worried about getting a ticket. The lunch cost just over £26.00. The cafe wasn't particularly busy. Sorry Hooga, but I won't make the same mistake twice.

There is a nice range of locally made cakes including brownies, tray bakes, tea cakes ans sponges. The cakes are very nice that we had and good portion size. It is ideally located opposite the coop for east parking in the free car park. The coffee is tasty and enjoyable. This is a lovely place with nice atmosphere.

We've never posted a review before, but we just had to say what a wonderful lunch we had yesterday. From the moment we stepped in the door, we were warmly greeted by the lovely young chap at the counter. The style & atmosphere, with the lovely burner, was very relaxing, the food was divine (I've never had a tastier, creamier chai latte with oat milk, and the home made chilli jam was so good I had to buy a jar!), the prices were reasonable and all the staff were so friendly- it was like going to a friend's for lunch! Thank you to all the lovely staff. It will now be one of our regular's, highly recommended.

We had a range of cakes which were all amazing - particularly the black forest gateau and coffee muffin. There was a good selection of drinks and candles. The space is cosy and well-decorated but a bit small and it was difficult to find a table for a large group. The staff were very friendly but the service was a little slow. Overall, we had a very positive experience and would definitely return.

We visited in the early afternoon in October which was a quiet mid week day. The food - which took ages to arrive despite not being very busy - was absolutely excellent and really high quality. My tea pot was only half full of tepid water and the tea was really weak, which wasn’t ideal. The waitress may have been having a bad day but it didn’t feel welcoming at all which was a shame as there are so many other places to go in the town. Worth it for the food and hopefully it will be a better day for the service.

Been here a few times now. The cafe is really cute and has a nice vibe but can be a little cramped depending on where you sit. The coffee is good too. Main issue is the service is sooooo slow. Food often takes upwards of 30 minutes and I've taken friends here before and waited 45 only for it to turn up cold. Can't help but feel it'd benefit from an extra bod in the kitchen. Overall a great place for a quick coffee pit stop but the food service needs speeding up for me to consider it a good choice for brunch etc.

I had to wait about 15 minutes to order my food as the 2 members of staff were stressed and busy with a group of people having a tea/ coffee party . I felt as if I was in the way. Waiting for a bus after visiting my daughter and happened upon this really delightful cafe. It was a warm, inviting oasis to what was a depressing, cold, wet day which did nothing for the general feel of Wincanton. Very friendly staff who went out of their way to ensure I was made welcome. Ordered a latte and then on looking at the menu was tempted by the mushrooms and feta cheese on sourdough, which was superb. The latte was also of a standard that is not very often found in the multi national chains. Will most definitely be going back and thoroughly recommend this cafe to any visitor to Wincanton. Go ahead, cheer yourself up.
