Hon’s in Dundee City

Had a takeaway away last night, and asked for chicken curry with fried rice, and special fried rice. I don't know how they got it mixed, but it wasn't chicken curry, there was no curry sauce or fried rice. Never had any problem at all before, I have been going there for years, it's the first time I had been disappointed. It must have been a mix up. Ian.

Ordered 2 hour and 10 mins ago and still no delivery. Really disappointed with the service. Why take the order if you can’t fulfill it?

Just ordered beef curry and fried rice and beef and pineapple with fried rice. The curry had very little beef mostly onions and curry sauce..boiled rice given instead of fried. The beef and pineapple..meat was chewy, watery sauce only thing recognisable was the pineapple.

Last Night Takeaway Was Very Disappointing, Not To Their Usual Standard . Chicken Chow Mein Hardly Any Chicken , More A Mixture of Noodles and Mushroom And Not Hot . Will Go Elsewhere Next Time

First time using. Got a Sweet & Sour King Prawn (Hong Kong style) with fried rice. Very expensive, almost £2.50 more than my usual in Monifieth. However, the meal itself was delicious.

Food was high quality. Only criticism is portion sizes were small for the price.

Probably the worst Chinese food we’ve ever had (not eaten, who would eat this)!? Can’t prove it was full of MSG but it certainly tasted so. Avoid!

My brother, had a takeout tonight (10.02.2023) Disgusting food, Chicken curry/chips/Fried Rice……The former reheated, (stale chips) further been giving you guys business for > than 16yrs… I have kept your disgusting/sickening ‘food’ to give to the authorities….(health and safety/ environmental health) will be paying a visit!!!!! Post ingestion of what you call food, he’s been very ill, this suggests food poisoning!!!! I will be claiming against you on his behalf!! Shame on you, disgusting way to treat a loyal customer ( past tense ) It would appear this place has different owner's! Further, requesting a refund of £29.00! Avoid this take out at all cost!!!

This place was awful i found a big pube hair in my chips and curry sauce. the staff were absolutely horrible so rude. the place smells it was dirty dog hairs everywhere really disappointed

Disgrace 2 orders wrong , unfortunately customer service is terrible, 1st time gave benefit of doubt , 2nd time nope, they also talk over you so you can’t have a conversation so please check your order when delivered and if not correct don’t accept because over half an hour later + Hons don’t care, aren’t interested but still take your money, so so very disappointed

Unbelievable Shocking the prices they are charging. They really need to get a grip or they are going lose customers and fast.

Wasnt very good currys was overly loaded with pepper price is terrible more expensive than others save your money as new owners are just greedy and is not orginal owners

ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS. haven't had a carry out from hons for years for no particular reason. than daughter suggested to order a Hons carry out for a change. SO GLAD WE DID. will definitely be back in the near future

I got spacial curry ,superb it had a mixture of meat ,prawns vegetables, never had one with vegetables in it ,and the curry sauce all brilliant ,ps its proper meat,not that foreign meat that Chinese restaurants are importing, a megga happy customer, well done..

Having used Hons for over 20yrs all be it now our second choice to another local takeaway, I lust say tonight for very disappointing and will be outlet last visit. We ordered pork curry with chips; crispy beef in hot sour sauce with fried rice and a portion of noodles. Pork curry was OK and quantity of chips satisfactory so no complaints but not near a praise. As for the beef, the portion size was a lot less than other businesses which would have been OK if the quality was great but too much crunch and very little beef quantity, crispy batter and sauce would have tasted the same! The fried rice was like a slightly darker boiled rice, very dry with no difference in taste to boiled just drier and the noodles, well the quantity was poor for the cost and the noodles lacked flavour and seasoning, just like plain egg noodles! We were told 45mins for pick up which is understandable for a Saturday however it was over an hour for it actually being available to collect and I’m sorry the price is way over competition not just locally but throughout Dundee which again would be OK if the quality, quantity and flavour reflected the price but it severely did not, way over priced and food that lacked both quantity and flavour. Very disappointing Hons, you have certainly let a lot slip over the years.

Very disappointed Hons. Didn't expect Chicken & Spring Onion with Ginger to be floating in a glutinous mess. It looked awful. It didn't taste very good either. Couldn't finish it.

Have been coming here for a long time but since the new chef started all round quality has gone down hill it’s a shame but I very much doubt we will be back. Bought 3 meals and they were all disappointing- binned practically all of them. 👎 ☹️

What has happened to the curry sauce was brilliant until mabye six months ago now dark brown bland not very good bring back the old stuff

The staff were terribly rude and the food was diabolical nothing was cooked the way it should of been the fried rice was borderline boiled rice it was that white, the curry sauce was inconsistent - lumpy and watery and the chicken was rubbery. I get that places are busy during this time but theres no excuse for how shocking this first time meal was i will not be back!

Great food and very popular so it's best to phone your order in and collect later. Friendly efficient staff and the best prawn crackers I've ever had!

The food overpriced baring in mind the chicken was all at the top (unmixed) also baring no sauce and plain. Second of all the bean sprouts were completely hard and barely cooked. I would rather eat a squashed pigeon from the road than spend £6 on that scrimpy shite!

Their special curry with fried drive was tasty with lots of chicken and pork well worth the above average prices, FYI they will assume you want a bag rather than ask you if you have brought your own

Chicken and mushroom foo yumg. Tasted good but only 2/3 of a container. Took it back and told this is the portion we give. Very hungry so just had to put up with it. Won't use again.

Horrendous! Customer service a joke, no aplogy regarding a cold, slimy meal we received, was screamed at down the phone and called a liar by Joanne/ Joanna Shek. Asked for manager to ring me next day, never happened. Disgusted and have passed this on to others
