Hong Kong in Perth & Kinross

Delicious food spoiled by the fact the chips were not included in the mini fish suppers. This meant the curry sauce also went to waste as I had ordered those, a fish supper and a single fish and single king rib. Not enough chips to go round!!

We have been using the Hong Kong Restaurant in Perth for years. We use “phone in”. Staff are always friendly and efficient. Great value, high quality food. Our favourite is the Beef Curry👍. Traditional food is the best around, best fish supper or sausage supper you can get. Consistently superb. ✔️✔️

The restaurant is currently closed (Sept 2023) but this is a very popular local Chinese takeaway with a broad menu. Food is very well prepared and quick service from friendly staff.

We bought a rare takeaway at the usually reliable Hong Kong, but on this occasion it was very disappointing, to the extent that half of it went in the bin! We wondered why it was so quiet on a Friday at 5.30pm, maybe we've found the reason🤔

I go here now and then to get something to eat. I went in last night ordered salt and pepper chicken and an omelette. I ordered a bag of chips (£2.80) and then quickly said I didn’t want them as I was aware that the omelette came with chips. I was handed 70p back. How on earth does that work ? I was told it was because I had been charged with the chicken as a meal ? So I was £1.10 deficit . The chicken was nice but not the salt and pepper chicken I am used to getting in other take always. Chow mein is very different too as it was served with Angel hair pasta ? Not good and too many vegetables too. Maybe need to find another take away. There is one around the corner that I will try . Poor customer service by not refunding for the full bag of chips

You get quite a plethora of food in the place. Take away Chinese food Asian food Cantonese chip shop pizza and the list goes on. It’s probably where the Chinese / Asian food doesn’t taste as good as it should . There’s too much going on here. Maybe calm it down a bit and take more time over sauces instead of just making batches

I tried to phone but constantly engaged. I drove and place my order and said I would return in an hour as my guests were waiting. When I came back they hadn’t even started the meal and told me it would be another 10 to 15 mins. Nice people but not efficient. This is the third time I’ve asked for an order and it’s not being ready on time

Sadly, despite the website saying you could dine in, we got all the way there and the restaurant was shut. I wish they'd update their website!

Excellent chippy. Been going here for about 20 years and I've never been disappointed.

Ate here twice during my recent stay in Perth. First occasion had the Fish & Chips, and it was deliciously. Second occasion had the noodles and again, delicious. Staff are very friendly and would recommend this place.

Staff doesn't listen to what you exactly want. This is the 3rd time this has happened and I won't be going back. I used to visit this takeaway regularly but not now. Avoid at all cost.

Best chinese I've had in quite a while

Just popped in for a box of plain noodles for my son. Very shocked to have been charged £5 for one small tub. Won't be going back at that price. For reference others in Perth sell them for £3.80.

Ordered a chicken chow mein fried rice and king prawn balls with sweet n sour sauce, did want water chestnuts n bamboo shoots but they did'nt have any !! Chow mein was tasteless as they did not cook chicken with the noodles just slopped chicken and veg on top never had it like that before, had a very stale cooking taste to the meal !! Never mind will be going back to the one in letham

Excellent quality food as always, fresh and tasty. Did find portions to be smaller on last visit, especially the crispy pancake rolls they seemed much smaller than usual. Would have been 5 starts if portions had not decreased.

Last minute decision to have a takeaway, quick look at the Hong Kong online menu which was massive, made my choice and phoned in. Collected 20 mins later and it was superb. The quality of food was excellent and portion size was well worth the cost. Certainly visit again soon.. Well done all.

We used tripadvisor to find this restaurant since we had a fancy for Chinese food on a Monday night in Perth. I can’t account as to why this is the top or second top Chinese place in Perth. That doesn’t match our experience here. The restaurant part was closed although that wasn’t shown in any listings we found for the place, and we were directed to the chip shop/ carry out counter next door. This meant there was no toilet available or place to wash our hands. We ordered a mixed vegetables fried rice and a chicken black bean sauce and fried rice. The ‘vegetables’ were onions and sweet corn only. The rice was quite greasy. The chicken dish was not great and again the rice was very greasy. Overall poor quality. We ate with plastic forks at the dirty metal table outside, but only managed half the food then put the rest in the bin. On reflection there don’t seem to be any recent reviews on this place; they seem to be from 2019. Find a better place and avoid this one.

Really friendly service from the girl on the phone, were told 10-15 mins but it was a little longer than this but definitely worth the wait. Ordered salt and pepper chips which is my go to chinese order and was very surprised to find the chips were chip shop style chips but it turns out they were amazing, an unexpected yet pleasant surprise! Curry sauce was amazing, not too spicy and fried rice was great too

Ordered chicken and sweetcorn soup and got chicken and noodle soup which was tasteless. Also had Singapore noodles which were fine but nothing to write home about. Disappointed after all the good reviews.

El encantador caballero que nos recibió cuando entramos por primera vez en el restaurante nos mostró una mesa para los cuatro. El restaurante tiene una decoración encantadora y elementos de China que se suman al ambiente de la experiencia gastronómica. Nos dieron menús para revisar y pedimos bebidas para nosotros y los niños. Pedimos una fuente mixta como entrante para compartir entre los cuatro. Los platos principales que pedimos fueron Chicken Chow Mein, Vegetable Chow Mein y dos verduras al curry con arroz. Nuestros entrantes llegaron rápidamente y las camareras preguntaron si queríamos salsas o más bebidas. Una vez que comimos los entrantes, los platos se limpiaron rápidamente y después de una corta espera llegaron nuestros platos principales. Los platos eran frescos, llenos de sabor y una sensación de sabor. ¡Absolutamente deliciosas y generosas porciones! Friendly girl who took our order. Ready for collection when they said it would. The meal itself was very good and a very good portion. Would have no hesitation in recommending the Hon Kong. Will certainly be going back.

Expected a lot more for the price, felt very disappointed. Curry sauce was bland with a slight hint of sweetness. Special fried rice lacked taste and couldn't get a mouthful with out at least two bits of onion. Should have enough flavour without having to use onion as a filler ingredient. Salt and pepper ribs were okay. Overall, if I ate it wearing a blind fold, I wouldn't be able to tell I was eating Chinese food.

once again, we stopped off here on our journey from Elgin to Glasgow Airport. As well as breaking the journey, we know we are going to enjoy the delicious food and the very good service. Thoroughly recommend this restaurant.

Great place to enjoy some of the most fantastic Chinese food , they use local butchers and green grocers produce and you can tell, the food is amazing well worth a visit either sitting in of take away , you won't be disappointed, also china china in perth is also the same idea albeit takeaway mainly , fantastic eateries in the perth city.

This is a great restaurant. We had chicken wings and won tons to start, which were both freshly cooked and very nice. The mains while freshly cooked and great quality, they both lacked flavour which was a real shame. Had it not been for that I would have given it 5 stars. It was a little pricey but if the food is good I’ll forgive that.

Excellent service food Brilliant

This is our go to when going out in Perth for a Chinese meal. The staff are friendly and the surroundings are always clean and tidy. We love the soups which are served with two mini vegetable spring rolls. My wife usually opts for king prawn chow mein which never disappoints and comes with plenty prawns. I went for one of the house specials barbeque chicken and pork, nothing I had tried before but again it did not disappoint.I can always recommend this place if you in Perth.
