Hong Kong Restaurant in North West Leicestershire

I ordered here because the reviews were pretty good but unfortunately my food was terrible. No one could actually finish off the food. The flavors were just off and all the dishes. Especially the sweet and sour chicken. I won’t eat here again.

Ordered take away last night on line which was promptly dropped off in the hour. We ordered chicken curry, king prawn chow mein and salt and chilli chips, I have to say the nicest Chinese takeaway I have had had in a long time. We demolished the lot and none left, complementary prawn crackers (which others want to charge for) absolutely top dollar would highly recommend keep it up Hong Kong well done…

First time ordering. Food arrived hot and tasty. We has a set meal for 2 and it would have fed 4. From someone who normally would not touch chicken soup, I must say it was delicious. Thank you.

7 of us came this evening and had the deluxe set menu! What a treat it was! The food was hot, fresh and super tasty! The service was absolutely exceptional! We were treated with surprises from beginning to the end! We had so much fun and everything was so entertaining! My Mom will never forget her 70th birthday meal! Thank you! We will be back, so glad we found this gem of a place!

Just had a beautiful birthday meal at the Hong Kong. Food fantastic, service so friendly and attentive. Made to feel extremely welcome. Karaoke machine also kept the kids happy before and after our meal. Can’t wait to go again

A very interesting experience. Food; We had the squid and prawn toast for starters which came in very generous portion sizes. Very tasty start to our meal. The mains were equally as good, between the two of us we had Beef in black bean sauce, salt and pepper chicken, seaweed and Hong Kong Fried Rice. Service; The girl who served us was very attentive and polite. She was a delight. The service 5 stars are for her. Atmosphere; We noticed they took on a lot of deliveries, but we were the only ones eating in and we could see why. The restaurant was freezing cold that we could see our breath in the air and even moved to seating further away from the front door. Also we were aware of bickering from behind the bar when drivers or management were discussing deliveries. All in all, great food, but the dining area itself leaves a lot to be desired.

Very nice inside food very nice but I ordered something that was not really my thing but thought try something new . Food was to high standards though will go again defo.

By far our favourite restaurant. I work primarily in London and then internationally a good amount. As part of my work I end up in many restaurants. The food and service here beats them all and a beautiful warm welcome too !.

First time for a while of using, ordered a selection of starters and main courses for a home delivery. Delivery was at specified time and arrived nice and hot in good containers. Sweet and sour chicken balls were particularly nice as was the hot and sour soup. As always could do with a few extra pancakes for the crispy duck. Food was very tasty and not a bad price.

Food amazing !! Well done to the kitchen !! Just a shame when you spend over £131 All you get is extra prawn crackers!! And to top it off Delivery charge £5.50 on top off a £131 bill Such a shame Will go elsewhere been coming here for yrs !! And pasted on the number NEVER will I do again Well done one of your regular customers you have lost !

Eaten here a few times both in the restaurant and takeout. Lovely friendly atmosphere, great food. The last time we had takeout for 16 people.for a special occasion. Kevin organised a fabulous sushi platter for us too. It was ready on time piping hot and was enjoyed by all. Thank you 😊

Wrong or missing parts of the order with a side of bad attitude from the manager.

Last week Ordered take away to pick up as delivery is often over an hour and part of order missing. They did send the missing item out an hour later as delivery driver got lost. Tonight we order the same as usual and confirmed the order with manager KEVIN to avoid issues. When order arrived it was wrong AGAIN. When contacted the restaurant to complain KEVIN shouted and told us his chef made the mistake . When we asked for refund Kevin angrily stated he would personally bring a replacement meal as he did not appreciate why we would not accept replacement. He also said we should not order food from the Hong Kong measham again as they didn't need our money. He turned up at our house with another meal shouting and with an aggressive attitude. We really hope that people take their business elsewhere. Kevin at Hong-Kong measham should attend an anger management and customer service course. Don't give him any of your hard earned cash.

Just had a lovely meal with my wife & daughter in this restaurant. Good food, lovely friendly atmosphere, decent service, apart from my daughters main arriving before mine & my wife’s, & before the rice & chips. She had eaten most of it before the rest was served. The waitress did apologise though tbf. That aside, really enjoyable & we will definitely return. Nice that they serve Japanese food as well as the usual Chinese.

We have had a wonderful time at this restaurant this afternoon for my sons 18th birthday. We’ve never been before and took a chance to book here as the reviews were good. Great communication, delicious food and five star service. There were 10 of us and we will definitely be back. Thank you for such a great afternoon. Even the karaoke 😂

We have had so many meals from here and they have always been amazing. Unfortunately the last two meals we have had are terrible. The restaurant has really gone down hill. Stale prawn crackers, over cooked chicken, pork and rice. This is such a Shame we have recommended the Hong Kong to many family and friends around the area but I'm afraid after two beyond terrible meals we will no longer be getting our weekend takeaway from there. You have lust our custom unfortunately and we will be looking further afield for our weekend treat

I travel with work and have been staying near this gem of a chinese for a while and decided to have a meal for a change. The food was exceptional and the service although not over busy with dine in business was second to none with a young lady looking after me very well. I dined alone but was made to feel really welcome. It is obviously a popular place with the amount of take-away business which was done and would imagine at week end it is very busy. I dined early evening mid week. A great selection of varying asian dishes good selection of bottle beers with good service att a good price what more can you ask for. I cannot really comment on the atmosphere as there was not a lot of people in just marked it down rightly or wrongly. Will be visiting again without a doubt.

What a delight for our birthday meal tonight. This restaurant has a chequered past but the new owners have worked a miracle. The place has been revamped and is now a very pleasant environment. Plenty of room for all the lovely food. Kevin and staff and service were excellent and the food was all that could be hoped for. We will definitely be going again.

What a little Gem this Chinese restaurant is, great selection of tasty food including sushi. The service is great Kevin and his staff are very attentive and always make us feel so welcome. We will be returning again with family and friends.

What an absolute gem of a restaurant! Since the new management took over this place has transformed! The staff are super friendly, attentive and extremely accommodating. Now for the food....WOW!!! Literally the best Chinese AND Japanese food I have ever tasted and the Sushi, made to order by the owner (who worked in a Japanese restaurant for 14yrs) is out of this world. Four of us visited Saturday June 3rd and it's not like other "fast Chinese restaurants" who cook for the masses. The detail and flavour and presentation makes it feel like the food has been prepped and cooked for you personally and the young lady serving us worked tirelessly all night. I really cannot say enough about this wonderful restaurant, its' staff and the chefs. I will definitively be returning (many times) and highly recommended. Well done to all and thank you!

Amazing food ans Amazing host highly recommended

So tonight Saturday 20th of may ,my self and my partner decided to go for a meal at the old measham inn Chinese restaurant ( Hong Kong ) we sat at the table by the door . Unknowing to us weekends are karaoke nights that's no problem with us. What I did take offence to was a table of 3 people sitting in front of the karaoke screen a lady and two gents , the guy in question a bald headed guy who when a certain song was on started to sing . The song in question by the back street boys called I want it that away, as I was eating the bald headed guy was singing and got up from his chair and moved back by the partition wall but was still visible to me , when the chorus in the song sings I want it that way , he changed the words and sang he wants it that way and gestured with his thumb towards us pointing at his arse with his hand in a sexual manner he thought I didn't see him but I did , the waitress and the other 2 diners with him were overly laughing at his gestures. I'm totally livid and really upset that I've gone for a meal and had this sort of homophobic inuendo directed to us in this manner for no reason from customers. I've phoned the restaurant and spoke to the English guy who apparently is the delivery driver as the managers English was not very good. He told me his waitress had only been there a fortnight and as on her part it would be addressed as a training issue, crap , staff should respect and look after their diner's not join in with this behaviour. Seems like a brush off from the restaurant and nothing will be done and I'm taking it further .

First visit and wow was very impressed. Service friendly and helpful. Drinks nicely chilled. Food the very best. My favourite Chinese on the south coast closed years ago and never found a replacement until now . Best surprise ever. Will be going here often. If you’ve not been and like good Chinese food you are missing out. All of my party agreed! Ian

I went on a Saturday night for a meal food was good enough for the money tasty and flavoursome service very helpful . We didn’t expect a karaoke !!!! Whilst eating our meal bit too nicely . But nice meal . Would recommend .

Evening meal for 4 of us staying local for work and tried this restaurant out on chance. Great wee restaurant, well looked after by attentive polite waitress who took our orders and made sure we were sorted out with drinks and crackers etc. Food was good all served hot and well presented. Would definitely use this restaurant again if staying in the area. Haven taken a point off only for background music, maybe management want to rethink choice in that area.

I have visited the restaurant quite a few times under the new management and old. Kevin and his team are doing a great job. The food has really improved as well as the service. The sushi is a great new addition and very fresh , being a vegetarian there are lots of options for me now. I have had some hit and misses with the restaurant in the passed but I am happy they have sorted out the issues with the new team. Definitely worth a visit and I am sure you will enjoy it.

I revelled up from Cornwall to Meashm to see family and had a wonderful meal here. All the food was cooked ever so well and was full of flavour. Beef in black bean sauce was super tender. Crispy shredded beef was perfect. Chicken teriyaki and gyoza were both delicious as were the duck, rice and noodles. The welcome and service was first class and I would definitely recommend this restaurant. Really made our evening even more special.

Fantastic Chinese restaurant who specialise in sushi, two of my family Members eat sushi & have said it’s the best they’ve ever tasted, the Chinese food is fab, great food, great staff & then there’s the manager Kev, nothing is too much trouble for him, he goes above & beyond to make every visit special, you can also finish your night off with the karaoke, what a little gem we have in Measham 5*

Unfortunately not able to give zero stars! If you want cold food with a side of attitude from the manager here’s your place. Returned food as not hot (barely warm) curry was meat with luke warm curry sauce over it! Rice and noodles cold (cold enough to stick your finger into the middle)! Sent back 2nd time after a microwave ping, still cold only for manager to come over shouting that he watched the chef ‘warm’ it. Asked him to also try it - which he did and then put the used spoon back into the dish and then still handed me the meal back?!? Really?! He didn’t get that this was unsanitary and wrong? Then wanted to charge me full price for everything?! There’s more but too much to put here! Good luck if you attempt it, we won’t be again. Still paid by the way. He recommended I look at his reviews I recommended he did too 😂

Sushi Joy! Proper fresh Sushi in Measham! Fantastic team headed up by Kev. All their food is great but for me, the fact that they do Japanese food is wonderful. The sushi is really really good, and if you have any special requests you can just call and ask, nothing is too much trouble. Plus try their unusual range of Chinese and Japanese soft drinks.

We often have takeaways from this restaurant and we are always very impressed with the food and friendly staff. We recently booked a 40th birthday party for 25 people there and had most of the restaurant to ourselves. Great buffet, such great staff that can't do enough for you. We were so glad we picked to have it here. Karaoke at the end of the night was fantastic. A great place for takeaway, dining in, and for parties! 😁

Moved to Measham in August 2022 and just tonight decided to try this place as we only just discovered they do take away as well as eat in. I am really impressed it's good value for money and food tastes good. My only negative was that I didn't like the spring rolls - but they still deserve the 5 stars nevertheless 👍🙂 staff were friendly, looked clean inside 👍

Love this place. Every dish cooked to perfection and the sushi the delicious definition of food prepared with real care and love. I love taking friends and family here, the owner and his family really can’t do enough for you and your guests. A real jewel of a place.

My staff, family and I have held two events at Kevin’s restaurant. Both times we have had a wonderful time. The staff are friendly and the food is good to eat. We spent the night eating and singing karaoke till late.

It was my second time there and they didn’t disappoint us! Wonderful food and friendly staff I would recommend if you like to enjoy a nice dinner with family

Regularly have take away from Hong Kong restaurant and always very happy with the food. Most of the time the order arrives quickly and food is hot, tasty and plenty. Recently tried some of the Japanese options, the sushi and dumplings were very nice! My only negative would be, when ordering online it does not give you the ability to order all options that are on the paper menu?

Take away… sat night 22/10/22 After 90 min wait… I ordered po prawns, and got burnt cashew nuts with chicken. Daughter ordered chicken fried rice it had a visible layer of pepper on the top??? Needless to say the surprise first mouthful was spat all over the floor 😩 the sweet and sour sauce is more and more like water. Won’t be ordering again. Sorry guys.

Amazing food, we ordered from there new Japanese selection and the sushi rolls, takoyaki and Teriyaki options were great. All the sushi was freshly made. Definately going to order again and again.

Well the food was overcooked and cold, the bathrooms were sketchy and dirty but it get three stars because the lady serving up was brilliant and really nice and they were very busy so I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt also the music was really nice and the vibe was amazing but would not recommend sorry to that wonderful lady that served us I wish you luck.

Just been to have my birthday meal at this place with 7 of my family, arrived at 17.30 left at 19.00 we ordered drinks got them then ordered probably £150 worth of food, when we all walked out at 19.00 they still had not started to cook our food, so I cancelled the order but the take away were coming and going with they food. DONT EAT IN AT THIS RESTAURANT THEY ARE NOT INTERESTED IN YOUR BUSINESS

Absolutely delicious! Staff are very helpful. They are good with allergies and will prepare food with care to avoid contamination. We ate in and had an excellent experience. We have been here in the past and the food is consistent very good.

Phoned through to place an order. At the time could hear shouting in the background. Order taken efficiently and delivered well within the expected time . However the food was well below standard for the inflated prices. Not very warm, poorly presented and half of which ended up in the bin .

Great food, tasty and huge portions

Our visit on Sunday evening (August 2021) was absolutely exceptional. From the moment that we walked into the restaurant, Fiona welcomed us with utmost respect and made us feel very special. We had booked calling to say we were there for a birthday, and they had made a huge effort to cater for that. The food was delicious, we’ll presented, hot and brilliantly priced. Great selection of Chinese food, and lovely customer service. Can’t wait to go back soon.

A little more than I would usually pay for a takeaway but was like eating in a restaurant the food was piping hot and plentiful and absolutely delicious I'm yet to have anything but excellent from this restaurant to dine in or takeaway it never disappoints.

Friday 30 /10/20 Absolutely disappointed with our experience at this restaurant On several previous occasions the food and service was pretty good On this occasion the waitress was so pushy hardly giving us time to sit down let alone enjoy our drink kept insisting we order When asked to give us a few mins to look at the menu and have our drink she just stood a couple of feet behind my husband waiting which made us feel uncomfortable when we were hoping to enjoy a rare meal out she complained about the washing up when asked for a fork The food was not anything like we has on previous occasions ,sauce on prawns cold and thick rice Luke warm No ginger in beef and spring onion and hardly any sauce On the whole very disappointing Rushed and poor food Only one other couple there. Unfortunately will not be returning

My Husband & I absolutely love Hong Kong Restaurant and think it is the best Chinese in the area by far for both eat in and takeaway. We literally cannot fault it but the highlight is the hostess. She is so warm and welcoming, just so so friendly.You will not be disappointed if you eat here!
