I hate to give such a low review but I ordered a crispy shredded beef and they have over cooked it to where is was inedible just hard grease really disappointed

3/3 last orders arrived wrong due to the guy taking the orders on the phone. Tonight was the third time in a row, even after reading the order back to me wrong and being corrected, a dish was missing and another wrong. I'm afraid it's 3 strikes and out for me. No more orders from us.

Had takeaway from here several times. Nice food and very efficient service if you go in face to face and wait. Ordering by phone can take a while, especially on a Friday or Saturday night.

Just collected a meal from CK House for the first time using this takeaway, and I must say the food is spot on everything is hot. Your satay sauce is second to none!!! and the rice is succulent and not dry or clumpy whatsoever. Infact all in all... one of the best takeaway's we've had for some time even the kids loved it and their so fussy ;)

I asked kindly for a printed receipt as was able to claim expenses through work. Lady on the repeatedly acknowledged a yes to my request. Order arrived no receipt. Why not tell the customer on booking we are not able to provide you with a receipt. Will not be going back again despite the food being excellent.

Dear, Oh Dear. Disaster. Take away. Special chow mein with vermicelli noodles. 4pcs of meat, no sauce on the noodles. Absolutely tasteless. Extra £1 for the vermicelli. No mushrooms, no prawns. Spare ribs. All the cartilage 1 inch ends. Very little meat. I’ll never go again. A Masters

Why the negative reviews?! Salt and pepper chicken was delicious, the menu is vast in comparison to most Chinese’s (Mongolian lamb, ultimate fave 😍), delivery in 20 minutes and piping hot! 5*, best Chinese we’ve had in the area and surrounding

The order arrived well ahead of the 45 minutes scheduled time even though this was a Saturday evening. The food was hot, fresh and extremely tasty - we had ordered two different Thai prawn dishes with fine plain noodles and it was all delicious. A bag of prawn crackers was added free. I paid by card over the phone when I ordered the food and the service was first rate and friendly. It’s the first time that I have used CK House but it most definitely won’t be the last.

We live just outside Ashby and order here regularly getting a delivery. Food quality 8/10 Food quantity 10/10 Friendly staff 9/10 Speedy service 10/10 They do get busy on the phone, so try more than twice!

Phoned for a order they now only take contactless payments in store and it’s now only cash on delivery as they don’t take card payments over the phone anymore so will have to try somewhere else for future orders from now on

In 2022 it is ridiculous that CK will only take cash for a delivery order.

Food okay. Poor service. No longer allowed to pay by card for either delivery or collection.

Sent us the wrong food, refused to rectify it, offered us a discount next time… “next time” won’t be happening though… lots of reports of poor service recently.

My sister ordered me a chinease meal for my 40th birthday from here while she was away on holiday as a surprise It got to us really cold so I just called them up and they tried to say do you a discount next time all that rubbish and we just asked for a hot meal that we paid for they said we would have to bring the old one back to the shop 4 miles away in Ashby and they would give us a new one. Place really gone down hill lately we have been regulars here for many years but won't be going back again such poor service.

Had a mixed grill and hardly any meat on it and very very chewy and the gravy was like water and tasteless, even our dog had trouble chewing the little meat that was edible.

I've tried to order a home delivery three times now, they won't answer the phone! Are they so busy? Or do they close early? No worries, I'll order £50+ of food from else where. Simples...

Always fresh & hot when collected, always happy to tweak the dishes to our taste. Highly recommend when looking for a take away.

Sorry CK House but that was the worst Takeaway I have had the mispleasure of having delivered in over forty years. I had to tell you the order three times and you still delivered it wrong twice and cold. I can 100% guarantee I will never be using your takeaway again and recommend to anyone with any sense to avoid like the plague or COVID 19 and go elsewhere you will be a lot happier.

Omg worse take away ever sent it back twice due to wrong meal not fussy and if it was close to the normal order probably would of had it but it’s was completely wrong. by the second time we told them not to bother. Ruined the night.

Awful experience and customer service! I ordered a number of items including a rice, on collecting the food the rice was missing, I informed them and then told me they never charged for it. They informed me that I’d have to pay and that it would take 10 minutes (for plain rice)!!! I didn’t mind paying of course, but to wait 10 minutes for everything else to go cold… Anyway after complaining further, another member of staff appeared and told me I could have the rice straight away if I pay. Will not return and do not recommend.

I Am a regular of ordering from them, but i placed an order this evening I ordered chicken chow mein chips & prawn crackers, the chicken chow mein was not the same it had no vegetables or anything in it, it tasted like slop, I couldn't even eat it, I'm not one to complain but I rang & told them & she said you can have a free one next time, I'm sat here hungry no offer of a replacement or refund, I will definitely not be ordering from them again, disappointed!

Very dissatisfied at the wrong order that I collected , ordered king prawn sweet and sour , when sat down , dished up , it was chicken ! Not just that , the batter inside was undercooked ! Won’t bother again !

Had food from here many times and it's been amazing but tonight, when they were rushed off their feet, the food suffered. Chips weren't cooked properly and the curry sauce was more like warm tasteless gravy. Disappointed tonight. Hopefully our next order will be back to the usual standard.

We had take away and the choice or might say different menu was a joy and food was the best I have had in a long time !! Chips were not great but go chippy if that's what your looking for. Would totally recomend and try something off the thai menu with your choice of meat you can't go wrong really makes a difference from your bog standard Cantonese weekend treat.

We have been going to ck house for years. Always very good some dishes are better than others we usually order salt and chilly crispy beef, pork chow mein, chicken breast curry and king prawn with mix vegetable yum. This is not a fake review.

Ordered on a busy Saturday Evening. All the dishes were well cooked tasty and plenty of meat. We had a variety of dishes all were hot and good flavours. Would use again.

What a waist of money, definitely some fake reviews or some people with zero taste, don't think the chef has ever had a Chinese. Shredded duck was dry and had no flavour and come with a pathetic pot of plum sauce. Salt and chilly chicken tasted like dry frozen chicken nuggets. Egg Fried rice tasted like bland boiled rice. Nice prawn crackers.

Excellent Chinese takeaway. We order from here regularly. It is always delicious, and always arrives within 30 minutes when they estimate about 40 minutes. The delivery drivers are friendly. I can highly recommend the crispy chilli beef and ribs in syrup.

Ordered veg fried rice, chicken fried rice , barbecue spare ribs, beef chow mien, chips and curry sauce. Loved barbecue spare ribs delicious, but my chicken fried rice did not taste fried as was white and like boiled rice with not much chicken and curry sauce was watery and tasteless. Otherwise very good. Watch the uneven steps on leaving as after few drinks can catch you out. 😱😂

PROPER FOOD like. This is my chosen local chinese, although I'm not going to lie there isn't much separating them from wing Wah's so if it's busy here or whatever I wouldn't be too picky

Just ordered sirloin steak medium no mushrooms and a pineapple fritter.what I received was sirloin steak well done with mushrooms and a banana fritter well the receptionist must be illiterate or the chef just cooks what ever he or she wants.it was my first time ordering stuff from c k house and it is the last time I will be using them.What makes it’s worse is c k house came highly recommend.

My egg fried rice was just like boiled rice with egg blonde hair lad behind the counter very arrogant no manners at all.

I’ve used C K house for a number of years and never had a bad meal yet, the guy on the counter is fab and always so polite. I get that restaurants slip up sometimes but sometimes it’s nice to recognise that people leave comments out of anger instead of leaving reviews on the times they have had nice meals. Always delivered quickly and hot do not let bad reviews put you off ordering

The most bland and uninteresting food I have had in a long time. Plenty of it , enough left for dog. First visit and last.

Had 2-3 takeaways from c k house now and every time has been delivered warm and food tastes great for a takeaway. Wish they was on just eat so could order a little easier.

This Chinese take-away used be the best place for to get quality, tasty and well cooked food..fast forward and it seems each time we go we receive wrong dishes or not so tasty food. .tonight my King Prawn fried Rice wasn't fried. boiled and bland.Chef not interested in my complaint but should realise an unsatisfied customer doesn't return, grumbles instead of recommending and sometimes gets online to moan, if they're a real foodie !

Usually a regular customer that is satisfied with the service. However, ordered a Chinese from CK House in Ashby last night and was told it would be ready to collect in 40 minutes. We arrived to collect the Chinese and unfortunately they had given our food to the delivery driver by mistake.They apologised for this and said we would need to wait for the driver to return with the food. I then asked what was going to happen about this and they said they would re-heat the chips and stick in some free fortune cookies (wow). We continued to wait another 20 minutes for the food. Whilst we were waiting we over heard a phone call telling the customer that received our food, that they would receive a full refund and the correct food would be sent to them. However, we had a cold chinese (we just ate it because at this point we were starving), warmed up chips and some fortune cookies?? this wasn't fair at all. Can't help but think if we had kicked our feet more we would have received a free meal. Just left completely disappointing as we were having food with friends and highly recommended your takeaway.

It’s a takeaway so you get what you pay for. Positives: Generally food is good, hot and tasty. Negatives: Sometimes seems a bit like organised chaos in the kitchen. Have witnessed several occasions were they have got the order wrong. Lots of loud arguments.

Had this chinese every month for 3 years since moving here by far the best in ashby , english man who takes order is quick & helpful , quick delivery, never had a bad meal or wrong order , highly recommend!

Now they have a local Brit guy taking orders. He calls everyone "mate". Ordered Char Sui pork and got fried rice with slices of pork on top, not really very inspiring eh mate?

Excellent service, came with-in half an hour as stated, food tasted great. Forgot to ask for steak rare/medium but still was good quality. Will definitely be ordering from here from now on! Black pepper sauce was absolutely perfect, spicy, liked the chillies in it too, food was hot when delivered also! Thankyou :D

They have a huge range on their menu. They are super friendly, fast & their food is excellent. Great value for money too. I highly recommend them.

Ordered from ck house this evening and the one star I rated is for the speed of delivery. I had a 3 in 1 with curry sauce which is chips, egg fried rice & curry sauce. The chips were soggy and hardly cooked, the rice was not nice at all. Supposed to of been egg fried rice but tasted like plain boiled rice and the curry sauce was completely tasteless and i was only gave a really small amount to cover all the chips and rice. The prawn crackers we had also didn't taste of anything either. I've had a 3 in 1 from ck house a few time and every time has been discusting.

We have used ck house for many years. The problem is it is very hit and miss. They say angela taylor hour and it can be here in 10 minutes, obviously straight from the microwave. Sometimes hot and other times not.

The only way to describe the egg fried rice with pork & duck is 'disgusting' 2 mouthfuls and straight in the bin! The rice was pink ! and didn't taste at all like fried rice, left a nasty taste in the mouth. The very few pieces of pork & duck were grey and old looking!Other half had beef in black bean with chips and he said it was quite good. Maybe it's a case of just don't have rice but it's a chinese staple & if they can't get that right I for one will certainly not be going again. Advice from the locals was "you wouldn't feed your dog the food from there". Having read some of the reviews on here I dared to give it a go - big mistake!!

Fabulous freshly cooked food. Not greasy. Huge chunks of recognisable vegetables in the dishes with a bite. No mushy, soggy vegetables here! Before we turned veggie we enjoyed the chicken dishes. Now we eat tofu dishes - which are delicious . Very quick service (we always collect) and friendly.

this is a decent quality price take away. Huge portions , 10£ for 2 people is fine. Food is nice depending on what you are looking for. I am on chicken and they have done it nice and tasty. I would recommend this place for ashby vs the next door chinese take away.

I've never had a bad meal here, have used it several times. A little disappointed to find out it doesn't have a 5 star food hygiene rating!

Our regular haunt now for a Chinese takeaway after months of trying to find a good one. This was a recommendation to us and so glad that it was. The food is nearly always very good and good value. Only a couple of times has it been a bit iffy, we put this down to how busy they are. Saying that, it is not an excuse and should be addressed.

A great choice for take away with very good food at reasonable prices. A frequent choice when coming home too late to cook!

CK House is without doubt the best chinese takeaway in ashby. I've lived in ashby since 2001 and have therefore tried them all. Yes, on a saturday night at 8pm, they sometimes get the orders mixed up, but you've got to allow for some mistakes and human error. The prawn crackers are better than any I've ever had and the other food choices are fab. The prices are just what you'd expect, nothing more nothing less.

You only realise how good this place is when you go elsewhere.... Yummy food, great service 10/10 :-) highly recommend ... Free prawn crackers ...

Ordered duck chow mein but just got chow mein NO DUCK!wont be going here again. Poor quality; late delivery and more expensive than our usual takeaway.

Cheap, good food, great service, delivery man is always nice (and it is always a man!), never ever got an order wrong for us, 'nuff said!
