Recently moved to Shefford and saw this Chinese had good reviews can definitely see and taste why. The young man on the front was lovely and very polite and the food was amazing and very good price 100% recommend

We have used this takeaway a few times and have mostly enjoyed the food however last nights food was not good Duck and pancakes was OK but had to shred the duck ourselves which I haven't ever had to do from other takeaway establishments Chowmein tasteless had very few King prawns Satay sauce had no cashew nut or coconut taste and was bland very few prawns again Neither if us enjoyed our food and will not return Different chef perhaps??

Ordered food to be told 40 min wait. Yes I know its busy but 1 and 1/2 hrs later food was ready. No apologies sadly. Just take the times given with a pinch of salt.

We use this takeaway when we feel like a Chinese, we have tried different ones in the area ,always ready when given a collection time never been disappointed

We enjoyed crispy shredded beef egg fried rice, salt and chilli chips. Special rice. Mixed starter. Collection in 10 minutes

We only live a couple of miles away but always drove into Shefford to New Rays Chinese takeaway, which i might add is bang on for their food. But then somebody told us about the Hong Kong House just outside Shefford. Had to try it and wow, the food was exceptional. My favourite is the Singaporean Chow Mein, extra spicy and couple of other dishes, chips are lovely as well. The flavour was amazing and served up in ten minutes, great staff and efficient. Ten minutes later we were noshing on this lovely stuff! Will now alternate between New Rays and Hong Kong House.

We wont eat Chinese from anywhere else. Great food. Good value. Friendly staff. Never had a meal that's anything other than excellent

We tried this takeaway last night for the first time and it certainly won’t be the last. Everything we ordered was perfectly cooked and tasted amazing. We pre ordered for collection at 7.00 pm and it was ready bang on time. All in all a great experience and we can’t wait to try something different next time.

I last posted a positive review in 2018, so thought I would do an update to say in 2021 the food is still consistently yummy no matter what we order. It's still great, the staff are still great, helpful and friendly. This town is so lucky to have Hong Kong House. Don't stop what you're doing, you've got it right. Thanks!

We didn't want to cook on new years eve so we tried this place. Heard great things and we weren't disappointed. As to be expected on new years eve we had to wait. But it was worth it. Delicious food and good portion sizes. I ordered roasted duck chow mein, sweet and sour pork balls, sticky beef, ribs, spring rolls and seaweed. Definitely order again soon. Thank you 😊

Drove a little further to go to the Hong Kong House and it was definitely worth it. The best Chinese I have had for many years. Tasty, light and great flavour. The best crispy chilli beef I have ever tasted. This will be our new Chinese to go to.

Discovered this place on a whim, then I moved 15 miles away, but still go back. The food is always ready and hot when we get there and is reasonably priced.It’s the only Chinese we go to now. The hardest part is not eating it on the way home!It’s a proper meal. Never tastes processed, greasy or oily. It’s just good food, every time.

Had the set meal for four people. Lots of food very tasty will be ordering here again, only just opened again after the lockdown. Crispy duck was particularly good

Food was about average. Unfortunately the let down was that part of the order was missing and not noticed until at home having collected the food. The missing item was made quickly but had to go and collect it meaning we were unable to eat together.

Tried for a few years to find a decent chinese, Lethcworth, Baldock ,Stotfold but struggled. Recently found this place, fast service, lovely food. You'll go a long way to find better

Wouldn’t have given even one star out of choice 😡😡 Chicken Satay starter was more like dried chicken in salty gravy with pineapple thrown in. Seaweed was unbelievably sweet and like shredded plastic! Worst I’ve ever had Will not be returning

We moved to this area 2 years ago, we without fail order most weekends from here. Absolutely fantastic tasting food. Priced great and food is ALWAYS hot. We cannot recommend this Chinese enough. We send all our friends and family to them!

We have used this Chinese for over 15 years and never had a bad meal.

Sometimes, like today, I'll swing by after work for some spring rolls for my dad and I. Sometimes we'll order a whole bunch for family food at the weekend. Overall it is a lovely place: friendly too, and the food never fails to make me smile.

This place is the best, food is amazing and always tasty, always incredible, would recommend the place to anyone!.

Myself and my partner, regularly order from here and have NEVER been disappointed! They have a really good menu (a few things that they don't provide in other takeaways) - our particular favourite is the 'Bami Goreng Noodles'!

Tried the Hong Kong House tonight. We always normally go to New Rays on the high street but thought we should go somewhere new. What a mistake that was. The sweet and sour chicken didn't taste nice and the sauce was virtually non-existent. The egg fried rice was also not very nice. Never going here again.

A very good take away that has a good menu and the food we have had has alwaysbeen hot and wellcooked. Reasonable prices.

Our food was very unappetising as everything looked like it was cooked in dirty oil. The prawns were soggy and the meat was chewy. Such a shame. I will not be returning

Muy buen servicio rápido (a tan sólo 15 minutos - sólo el tiempo suficiente para una pinta en el vecino Woolpack en Yorkshire día). Gran entrantes incluyendo pato crujiente, sal y pimienta pollo, costillas, S & S entonces una mezcla de pollo chow mein, carne, pollo y crujientes nueces arroz frito algunas muy especial. Este lugar parece que lo criticado mucho, pero yo personalmente nunca tuvimos una mala comida desde aquí. Todos los platos han sido realmente fresco y sabroso. El tamaño de las porciones son enormes y dan una gran relación calidad-precio. En comparación con algunos otros locales chinos de donde todo parece tener ese sabor horrible msg o te dan más vegetales en su plato de carne de carne, este es el contrario, y sin duda para mí parada superior cada vez!

Having lived in the Hitchin area for several years now, this is the best Chinese for miles and one which we return to again and again.Excellent standard of food, friendly service & reasonable prices.

My Hubby and I use this chinese regluarly and are rarely disappointed but the main reason for going back is that they are able to cater for my food intolerance to MSG which is wonderful as I adore chinese food. Aside from that the welcome is always warm and generally very quick.

My partner and I decided to try Hong Kong House instead of our usual Chinese of New Rays. We were disappointed and won't be returning. The aromatic duck was nice enough but I can't recommend the sweet and sour chicken balls and they massacred my favourite crispy chilli beef. Really disappointed!

Myself and my family regularly order from HKH. Food is ALWAYS good. Never had any cause for complaint. Portion sizes are good and the prices are excellent.

After years of using another takeaway in the area which went downhill we discovered Hong Kong House which is consistently good and food is always ready in good time.

The faded exterior of the shop had put us off for a long while. How ever, after reading the reviews we thought we'd give it a try and were not disappointed! We'll be back again soon for another tasty takeaway.

Usually go to a different takeaway but a friend recommended Hong Kong House. The food was very good and not greasy at all, we may have just swapped our usual Chinese takeaway.

I get food from this chinese frequently and i couldnt be happier! Its all very fairly priced, especially when you see the portions and the quality of the food is great, i've not found a better dish at any other chinese! The owner is extremely smiley and friendly and the serving staff are friendly, helpful and as tasty looking as the food!

Excellent food. In 20 years I have never had a bad meal. (In the same 20 years, the proprietor has still failed to learn English).It's not cheap, (despite the "low-rent" appearance of the place). But you get what you pay for.Recommended.

Best Chinese take away in a 10 mile radius! Will definitely be ordering from here in the future, the cashier couldn't be friendlier and the food may be expensive but prices aren't higher than any other Chinese's' and the portions are more generous. Whole family agrees :)
