Hong Kong Chef in Gosport

Have used this chinese for over 20 years when known as Kwok Wah and Hong Kong Chef, even driving from out of the area as the Chinese chips and curry were legendary, however new owner has changed the food, and although nice, it just wasn't the same and not worth coming from afar any more. Ok food but no longer worth their legendary status!

I've always said you can tell how good a Chinese takeaway will be by how good the satay sauce is.. 9/10.. friendly helpful staff too.. (under new management 😊)

This has been my go to for a while now, however after last night’s ill think I will give this one a miss now. After learning they have been taken over, by a new owner I was hoping the food would be the same but was disappointed in the taste of the food. Everything taste almost like polystyrene Or really dirty oil. Think I will be finding another Chinese in the future, extremely disappointed.

Best chinese takeaway in Gosport, they even have the option for extra meat and to remove the veg!

It is such a pleasure phoning to place our order, the staff are so friendly. Delivery is always quicker than what they say and the food is delicious.

We order regularly from the Hong Kong chef and always happy with our food and delivery service, we especially like the Spare ribs with Green peppers in black bean sauce!!

They still make the best curry sauce though the food is not good anymore - chips are never seasoned even though I ask for salt Atmosphere is okay I recommend the Magic Wok instead on the same road

Hands down best Chinese take away in Gosport. After several years of not eating take outs due to dissatisfaction I stumbled upon Hong Kong chef now I order at least once a week and still sampling the entire menu not one bad dish!…….omg them ribs…..just melt 🥳👍

First time ordering a takeaway to be delivered from here. The young lady who took my order was delightful and so helpful. The food was delicious and piping hot. It was delivered within the time stated and the delivery chap was a very pleasant young man. All in all, a great success and will be ordering again. Thank you all, and Happy Xmas!

We had chicken curry, chips,fried rice,pancake roll and they gave us prawn crackers for free,me and my wife loved it,will be going back again

Visited for the first time a couple of days ago on a recommendation from a Google review and glad I did. The food was delicious and yes I quite agree with the Chucky chips comment they were lovely took me back to when I was a kid and many Chinese takeaways did proper chips. The curry sauce Was also delicious and in a pot big enough to really enjoy. Sweet and sour Chicken was fresh and crispy and barbecue spare ribs were great too. Will be returning and top of my order will be chunky chips and curry sauce....

Unsure how this is rated 4.7 stars. The service was great but thats as far as it went. The food was almost flavourless. I eat at least one chinese per week in Gosport and ive been to the majority in the area. This is by far my least favorite chinese takeaway ive ever had. The chicken walls were lovely and the restaurant offers good value for money but the other 4 dishes we had were very bland.

Was in the area and fancied a Chinese! Wasnt let down good sized portions and good prices too.

Such a lovely meal had yung chow fried rice couldn't been a bit more but was nice curry was lush chicken balls were the best and the chips oh my proper fat chips not frozen . And the curry sauce was delicious the best . Kwok wha was are favorite place to go tim was the best curry sauce but your deffo up there close 2nd .

Banging food chunky chips are amazing & curry is spicy hot for a Chinese curry well worth a try.

This Chinese is something else.. food is so fresh, chips are amazing, the crispy beef is lovely and even changed the sauce for me.. amazing!!!

Probably the best Chinese I've ever had, my new go to takeaway... Never had chips like it proper chunky, the chicken balls were so good not too much batter nice & crispy & the spare ribs just fell off the bone, the curry sauce was nice as well, can't wait to order again!

Wow first time i have ordered from here had to call as was over an hour but staff where so apologetic and offered a free dish. Well it was worth the wait the food is amazing will be ordering again soon

The Take Away & Delivery food from Hong Kong Chef is Soooooo Yummy ! It is by far the best Take Away ever and now they also deliver which is great. The most amazing juicy spare ribs, hand cut thick chips ....... And the curry sauce is woooow............ The delivery is always fast and the food is really hot & fresh ! Overall it's A++++++

The food was excellent, the Singapore chow mein, the house special chow mein. Full of flavour, not bland and still hot. Well presented and good colours. Highly recommended 👌

Best Chinese in gosport, everything I've had has been tasty, chunky chips are really good and curry sauce by far the best I've had. Friendly staff, delivery service great, prompt and hot. Good prices. Highly recommend for a tasty treat.

Been a few times now, enjoyed each time. The curry sauce is good, which missed since Tim, who had Kwok Wah finished & was in the same location. I think Hong Kong Chef now deliver. When Mum & Dad where down form the Highlands of Scotland, they enjoyed the curry & Dad likes the chips

I went for a special curry & friend rice (husband & I shared the rice), not bad, with a kick, big king prawns, load of mushrooms, beef, chicken & pork. Husband went for a chicken curry & his verdict - I would have again. Small bag of prawn crackers compared to some that you receive in other places, tasted good though. Husband collected, but do deliver
