Our server this morning was so lovely! Was lovely with our larger party for our granddads birthday and she was really personable, even when we spilt a whole vase of flowers! Really made us feel comfortable, thanks a lot to the server who doesn't like turmeric shots! 😊

It’s Was My First Time I Only Here To See The Spinnaker Tower

Spent last Sunday afternoon on their deck for late lunch. Lovely staff, nice menu and great views. It felt like being on holiday ☀️🎶 We had prawn salad & a ploughmans very generous portions🤩

Called in at 1130, on a Thursday. 5 people inside, all other(empty) tables reserved. Asked if we would like to sit outside( Not really), all tables except 2 way from the front, we're also reserved!! We left, as we weren't dressed as yachtties!!

My husband and I visited for a drink, beautiful views, lovely friendly staff. It's very close for catching the ferry over to Gunwharf Quays. A lovely experience & the the wood fired pizza smelt delicious.

So lovely to sit and take in the views of the marina.

Lovely food and fantastic location

The ‘Boathouse’ is really a highlight at Gosport. Excellent food, attentive and friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere. Once we call again Gosport marinas, we will visit ‘the Boathouse’ again.

Came for a birthday lunch & Very disappointed with lunch - my daughter ordered. BLT ciabatta which did not detail it would have mayo in but unfortunately it did - she cannot eat this. When we quietly informed the waitress she came back and told us we would have to wait at least 15minutes as the chef had other orders to make. However my food had been served and there was no offer to take this back so we ended up eating separately. As we complained & because of the response we were made to feel awkward & as though the problem was our fault not theirs - please not nowhere on the menu stated the sandwich contained mayonnaise. Also when the replacement was received it came with the same chips that had just been sat in the side in the kitchen whilst the sandwich was made - yes left cold and just re-served. A shame as I have previously had a lovely breakfast here which is why I thought it would be nice to visit for lunch. Very disappointing, no apology, not even any enquiry when we went to pay to check everything was ok.

I love this place! The staff are helpful, friendly and the food is reasonably priced. On a good day it's nice to sit outside with the great view of Harbour.

I visited the Boathouse today with my family and I have to say it was a great food and excellent service. It was my son‘s birthday we were sitting outside and it was a lovely atmosphere. I can really recommend.

Delicious burger, super succulent meat patty, chips were lovely too

The best bacon sandwiches for miles around. Loads of bacon, bap was lovely. Who doesn’t love a bacon sandwich. Washed down with a delicious cup of coffee. 5/5

Particularly good today. I would say that the quality of food and service was back to that of Annie's era!! The Bacon Brie and Cranberry ciabatta was just right - warm, tasty and generous. Well done!

I haven't been here in a lot time. It's still good. Shame parking is only free for 1 hour. 2 hours costs £2.00 so it's OK but you need to factor that in

Reasonable selection on the menu ,although perhaps a little carb heavy. Portions quite large. View over Marina. Worth walking to ,if weather suitable, rather than park in the marina./

Over looking the marina, with nice food and a fabulous view. Even better on a sunny day. Must be honest, I think the price they charge for a pot of tea for one is a bit much. However the over 60s is excellent value.

Nice food. Selection wasn't great for a Vegetarian.

Visited Sunday lunchtime for coffees and carrot cake, all delicious, friendly staff, sat outside l lovely view. Food being served looked and smelt amazing, we will be back to sample some !!!

Easy parking, but only free for one hour. Great place for a coffee, lunch or drinks. We had Ciabatta. Delicious and huge. Well worth the £11. Served with chips or crisps and salad as well as a homemade coleslaw. Lovely view of Portsmouth, the Spinnaker, and whichever war ships might be in harbour. Two massive aircraft carriers were in Dock across the water whilst we ate our lunch. It's Definatley best to reserve a table as it's very popular!

First time I've been here. Small, cosy restaurant. Friendly, helpful staff, good food. Simple but beautifully presented and prepared. Views of the marina. Booked to go again.

First time here. Had breakfast but found the waitresses not very friendly and quite abrupt. Bf enjoyed his full English but my toasted muffin was cold and 1 egg undercooked with clear jelly inside. Wouldn't come back unfortunately.

I’ve been going to the boathouse for years - since annie kettle had it. it used to be very good but has been through several incarnations since - varying in quality sometime closed monday tuesday and so-on. but yesterday hungry I was welcomed and had a very good baked potato and a macchiato. service was friendly by the nice girl who’s mum was in the background. they also have very good cakes - the other day I had an amazing slice of bakewell tart. so hopefully the days of warmed up sea bass are gone and we can look forward to the boathoue of old again…..

Good service followed by good food

I love this place. Perfect location for coffee or drinks. Not much food selection but it’s not a restaurant so if you come with the right mindset you won’t get disappointed

Had breakfast, had to wait a short while as food freshly cooked and was excellent.Enviroment clean and fresh and the view of the two aircraft carriers was Suberb. Staff friendly and professional. I will return .

Great hidden gem , on a hot day sit by the door , nice breeze, in the shade , as very warm inside. Newly taken over but kept all its great bits with a new revamp . You may have to wait , when they are busy but great back drop over Portsmouth harbour followed by great food. Well done.

Only a one star as unfortunately I am unable to leave less. ☹️ Superb location, spectacular views of Portsmouth Harbour and the Marina. Lovely outside terrace and that’s where the positives end ! As a Licensee myself I was appalled by the attitude and manners of the sole female server, rude and abrasive she obviously does not enjoy her job and for that reason we sadly will not return, shame really because as I say, super venue, unfortunately in the wrong hands. Either further training or a new career required or better still, sell it to me. 😎

Unfortunately the lady who runs things seems to have an awful attitude towards customers...in the wrong industry. Rude.

Very disappointed this place does not have disabled access for wheel chairs both entrances are by going up two steps. The person I had taken tried to get out of the wheelchair and walk up the steps. The hand rail is rope and loose so gives no support. In this day and age all venues should have disabled access ♿

Good menu, Good Service, Great Food

My first visit to meet my friend for lunch, her suggestion this time. I ordered fish n chips. However, I didn't expect the fish to come in a triangle shape , so it must be processed and frozen . I spent £27 just on my meal and drinks. I am a little disappointed 😞

Lovely location with great views across the harbour and actually in the car park. We only had a bacon roll that wasn't on the lunch menu but I did ask and was rewarded with tasty bacon in a warm brioche bun, we had a beer to wash it down. Sitting outside to marvel at the view. Good service, fair prices for the great location, highly recommended.

Service was very slow. Terribly understaffed for a sunny Sunday breakfast. The two girls on duty were very good and tried to keep up with everything. The breakfast was OK, unfortunately the toast was mouldy, this was handled very quickly though and to my complete satisfaction.

Very friendly atmosphere+service was brilliant,girls very polite. Not much of a choice on the menu,what we did have was ok,and it was certainly not good value for money.

Functional food, when it’s open. Advertised opening times don’t really reflect when you can purchase food as the kitchen seems to hit capacity easily and the team stop taking orders. Lovely location, but if staying in the marina of an evening the short walk to Haslar is worthwhile for opening hours/ choice/ quality of dishes.

Hugely disappointing. On day 1 we ordered the smashed avocado on sourdough with a poached egg. It looked pretty but the avocado was really, really cold so it was tasteless and that deeply unpleasant texture that chilled avocado has. Plus it had made the toast and egg cold too. I left more than I ate. My daughter and her friend enjoyed their waffles though. On day 2 we asked for poached eggs on toast without the avocado (once bitten twice shy!). I was a little disappointed to get 2 slices of toast but just one egg and hugely disappointed to find that yet again it was all very cold. Despite the breakfast menu being displayed as available until 11.30am we were also then told at 11.19am that they were not taking any more orders so no waffles for the kids that day. I was livid to put it mildly so next time I will do myself a favour and stroll round to Haslar marina to try their new restaurant instead

If you want a high quality breakfast then look know further. Would recommend. It's small inside. Friendly staff. Nice marina setting. Car park free for hour or extra hour if you ask restaurant for the extra hour ticket.

Bit disappointing. . Slow slow service and hardly anyone there. Food was well prepared and fresh and tasty.

The location is excellent and the food is good, especially the Pizzas! The negative is the wait, a Pizza taking 45 mins is ridiculous but it appears delivery companies take priority over eat ins. Order a pizza 8.00pm, get it at 8.45pm then last orders at 8.50 pm. Whist still eating , chairs being stacked!!, and this on a Friday and Saturday night. Hours are unreliable, versus local hostelries which can be relied on, not confident for the winter.

2nd visit with my Son both times the food was excellent and it feels like you are abroad sitting on the deck looking at all the boats. A fantastic find.

Breakfast with friends. We had mix of normal and vegan breakfasts. All very good, reasonably good portions. Apart from delay between order and serving, all excellent. Setting along marina opposite portsmouth dockyard on sunny warm morning, brilliant. Good tea and coffee. Black pudding are extra. Staff did not hurry us after meal.

Banging burger banging place and awesome service not sure 🤔 we get there aren’t a 1,000 reviews @ 5 star 🌟
