Stoke Chippy in Gosport

Quite short opening hours, but it's always fresh - the just cooked fish is the best around. My local. (cash or card, by the way. )

I must have caught them on a bad night, as there are so many 5 🌟 reviews. Large Cod and chips: chips were more boiled than fried, very mushy, and the cod was indeed large but had freezer burn all round the edges and batter was too thick and undercooked.

Smashing piece of cod, I ordered large and it was massive. Very well cooked nice and flakey too.

Giving every customer a plastic single use bag, without asking if a bag is required, and then charging the fee for it. As you have to pay for the order before the food is given etc, which means you are not aware what is happening. This contradicts the practice of cutting down on plastic bags. Makes me wonder what is happening to the money that is taken from every customer.

Huge piece of cod, well cooked chips but the pie crust was stodgy, I expect down to the pie quality

Fantastic first time used this chippy but was highly recommended by friends. It didn’t disappoint wonderful oap special fish & chips & mushy peas £7.70. Crispy flaky fish all lovely & hot, fabulous chips not greasy excellent portion size. Well done.

Lived in Gosport 6 years and never been here and wow what a little Gem. Amazing quality and freshness and huge portions. Will def be my weekly visit now.

Ordered fish cake and chips,got home only to find just chips!,before that they got my change wrong,so not a great experience, chips were nice,but that's all i got to eat.

Undoubtedly the best chip shop in gosport. The portions are always really big and they always use good ingredients. Never Been disappointed when buying fish and chips. They are lovely family run business that has been going for quite a while and always very pleasant experience .

Nice friendly staff, I have had many a lovely fish suppers from there and I expect I will have many more. Prices are reasonable and you get plenty for your money :-)
