1st time visiting tonight and was very impressed. We had various of dishes , chicken balls , beef and mushrooms, chicken curry, chow main , salt and pepper chicken and more and all was spot on. Best chinese food we've had in months. We live in cannock and think we've found our new Chinese 🙂

After putting out a request on Facebook for the best Chinese takeaway in Rugeley Hong Kong take away was the most popular. Yes it was the best take away I have had for a long time. Highly recommended.

Service good whether you order in advance, have delivered or call in. Food always nice and hot. Would recommend.

Hi Everyone hows it going? Right lets get down to business. I live in Handsacre nr Rugeley, i do have my own Chinese takeaway the Good View. However since covid its opening hours are reduced big time. Only open Wednesday to Sunday 10pm max closed the rest of the time. I went to my Lichfield favourite Chinese Tuesday this week only to be randomly closed until Thursday, the Lombard. Very dissatisfied i wanted a Chinese. I drive to Rugeley and have a think. Mmm what do i do? No to Wing Shun curry like water no way. Petes kitchen nice food but curry is light yellow no thanks. I thought well there's only one left, it's been with us 40 plus years had good reviews on Google let's go, it's worth a whirl lol. The Hong Kong Rugeley Fernwood Drive. Ok here goes, i asked for my favourite, duck curry egg fried rice extra spicy, extra onions. Chips n Curry large in a tray. Omg i got home to find a gorgeous smelling thick dark rich curry sauce that tasted spicy out of this world The Duck was full meat hardly any skin or gristle absolutely amazing. Here goes the egg fried rice was fried extra with alot of flavours, not like some still white. Absolutely gorgeous rice, my chips n curry was outstanding lots of curry in my tray, definitely not dry. I love this Chinese takeaway so far. I can't wait to try my next favourite, Singapore chow mein extra hot with extra Singapore flavour. Bring it on Hong Kong. You guys are good.

Have used this Chinese takeaway over the years and it has never disappointed. The food is always tasty and has always been consistently good. I don't tend to have an overly salty mouth after eating like other Chinese restaurants/takeaways.

Well I'm fussy and that was lush. Best noodles and ribs around for us and will defo use again.

Still awful food, haven’t used for ages due to poor & inconsistent cooking, coupled with being overpriced for the quality. However, them being local and us late night working amongst other things tonight, we decided to play safe and just have a curry & rice, how can they get that wrong we thought? Well, they did. No more than 8 small pieces of thin chewy beef, no peas, peppers or mushrooms. Just shed loads of onion in a watery tasteless sauce, soggy spring rolls but the fried rice was ok… so annoying as their prices have gone up so much, yet the standard has gone down beyond repair! Will not be using again after this.

Quick, polite service with excellent food and more than ample portion size. I had the house special chow mein. Came in two pots. Lots of meat and king prawns. I had a dish of the same name in Yeovil recently. It was one pot, some tiny pieces of meat, and the prawns, well they were more like shrimp embryos. And!!!! More expensive. Very disappointing. If you're ever in Somerset, avoid Yeovil and go to the lotus house in Wincanton. Same portion size as Rugeley, and just a few p dearer.

Had to use these guys as my regular Lotus was closed. The ribs were dry and tasteless and the main dish dry lacking seasoning. I will likely go without next time my favourite is closed!

First time and last time will order. Had better meals for less £25 for dinner to be thrown in bin waste of money. Crispy chicken in plum sauce tasted like lemon sauce and very watery. Chicken was like eating rubber. Chips tasted like battered fish and the rice was like cheap packet rice.

The food was just so beautiful and the staff were nice. Place was clean & tidy A++ I will order from here agin

Had a gorgeous beef curry with fried rice tonight, the best ever, and the chef did it extra hot for me, omgggggg was fab, i tried petes kitchen and the curry was sooo sweet, sorry pete but hong kong win hands down xx

4 of us had a takeaway last night from this place All of us were up all night with food poison

I've had takeaway from here before it's always been good. But the last visit 22/09/21 was disgusting tasted awful no flavour and very greasy egg fried rice. Shall not got back there.

Ordered a meal for delivery at 7pm. Rang at 7.50 to see if we could get an ETA. Was told it was out for delivery. Half an hour later it had still not arrived. Didn't fancy it at this point thinking it had been driven around for half an hour, bearing in mind we live about 3/4 minutes away so rang again and cancelled. Would prefer it if people would just be honest and say they'd forgotten it, at least you know where you stand.

The worst Chinese meal ever … it tasted like feet! Absolutely rank! Never again and was double the price of my usual Chinese that was very unfortunately shut on a Tuesday…. 🤢🤮

My disabled mum orderd a meal from here the driver gave her 10 pound less chang my mum noticed and called the shop to ask for her 10 pound the driver lied and said he had given it to her so my mum is 10 pound's down £18.70 for a curry and rice. I hope he has delivery insurance. Karma

I ordered a meal wrong meal phoned complained brought me a portion of noodles , complained my meal was cold I put the original meal in the bin phoned complainedbrought me a fresh meal but needed me to retrieve the original meal from the bin I refused and they stormed off , I returned the noodles as they weren’t opened . Their customer service is awful so I shaking not be using them again , future customers beware

In my opinion, and after having lived in Rugeley for over 30 years, the Hong Kong is by far the best Chinese take-away. As with any food establishment you may get an odd customer complaint (they once forgot to put our rice in the bag) but always tasty food. Just remember cash only, no cheques or cards accepted.

Terrible service. Ordered for a time with hour and half notice. It arrived an hour late and person on phone couldn’t care and offered no reason or refund. Food was cold and was not eaten. Awful!

Inconsistent cooking, The curry can be weak one day and a volcano the next, chicken balls can be a touch temperamental. Other than that, not too bad.

Never had a bad meal from here always very tasty 😋

Great food at good prices and friendly, helpful staff. The 4 in 1 special is a bargain and when you ask for something spicy, they can actually do it, something a lot of other takeaways get wrong.

Best takeaway in Rugeley. Awesome food.

Really disappointed. Ordered duck in Cantonese sauce and got 4 or 5 pieces of duck and a tub full of onion and a very watery Cantonese sauce. It took over an hour and twenty minutes to arrive and was cold. Don't think we'll be ordering from here again.

All i ordered from this place was a chicken omlett and prawn crackers i never got any prawn crackers my omlett was as thin as i dont know what my chips was rotten and soggy this place is a disgrace and will never get my custom again b8g thumbs down

Decent food, but often close before their advertised hours.

Driver couldn't find our house so food was cold. Always liked the food there but just spent £18 to eat something as warm as a salad
