Whilst its early days for the garden centre the restaurant is fully working. The food and service is excellent. The setting is very tranquil and pleasant and the fact you can book online is an absolute bonus. The cakes and breakfast pastries were amazing. By the looks of the current state, the Christmas themed areas will be very tasteful and a bit different to what’s on offer nearby. The staff, without exception, were welcoming and keen to hear the views of customers. Such a refreshing experience. I think Homegrown is an excellent newcomer to the area.

Homegrown opened in April '23 and seems very much to have hit the ground running. Although I am personally no horticulturist, the outdoor space has a profusion of plants, pots and implements, that should be more than capable of pleasing gardening aficionados. Not to be left out, home furnishing enthusiasts will revel in the ever-growing selection of goods. To the cafe space. Tastefully decorated and busy enough to perhaps consider using the high ceiling space as a mezzanine! A small and perfectly formed choice of dishes, that caters across the board. We had a Pastrami Benedict, which was very tasty and splendidly presented. Minor point...sourdough toast needs to be toasted a tad darker, as that wonderful chewy elasticity, makes cutting into it a bit troublesome if it's only glimpsed the toaster. Our fellow luncher had a Veggie HLT. Couple of points here. Sounds weird, but I wonder if the bread could be cut a bit thinner. Thick cut is good for a lot of bread lovers, but older people might find a doorstop more cumbersome...and dare I say, intimidating...it was a splendidly large sarnie!! Halloumi is a nice option, but has to be eaten pretty swiftly, as it's quite leathery on cooling. My food comments come from cafe experience...I owned one for a number of years. They are not implied criticism, but rather I hope, helpful for a fledgling operation. Lastly, the staff. Absolutely brilliant. Cheery, engaging, patient and efficient. Everything an Owner (and a customer) could ask for. Homegrown is a wee joy. Interested to see how it develops over time. I'll find out, as I intend to remain a customer...

Pizza was rubbish and overpriced. Got charged 8.90 for a 10 inch pizza with 3 veg toppings- it isn’t even this much on just eat. Very bland and had a weird spongy base. What a shame, poor quality from a place that has years of experience.
