Another absolutely excellent evening in Home restaurant. We received a pleasant greeting from our host staff on entering and we then ordered and enjoyed a fine Portuguese Alvarinho. Our server Robyn was friendly yet totally professional. Thank you. Our food: duck pate and goats cheese for starters and our mains of salmon and sea bass were each delicious. Highly recommended. We will certainly return.

I saw the restaurant online and had to go and try it. Took the train from Dublin, the restaurant is in the vicinity of the Grand central station. They were barely opening, but let me in since I was early for my reservation. The margarita was wonderful! The food amazing. I wanted to eat nothing but sticky toffee pudding.

Came here with my wife because we had a voucher; I think our last trip was at least six years ago and she remembered not being too impressed on that occasion. However, we were both very happy with this visit. For starters my wife had the whipped goats cheese with poached pears and I had a kind of pate with crab and pickled cucumber. Mine was nice but I really had food envy over hers after trying a forkful! For mains she had turkey and ham and I had the beef bourguignon. I had the beef pink and I’d recommend this. Again I had food envy though - everything about hers was top notch and in particular the cranberry sauce was literally the best I’ve ever tasted (I asked if they sell jars but unfortunately they don’t). With the meal we had a bottle of Prosecco (£32 which I’m happy to pay for good Prosecco). We didn’t have room for dessert but we finished up with a very nice cocktail each (blood orange margarita and festive bramble). Service was excellent and friendly. Bill came to just under £140 including service. We would definitely go based on how good this meal was.

I went 3 stars as for the price the food is what you would expect ie its pricey £253 for 4 people. That was for 3 started, 4 mains, 2 btl wine and a round of drinks. A 10% service charge was added to the bill and this seems to be the norm not and we are tippers so didn't challenge (I just hate when the add it on as its supposed to be a 'thank you ' from the customer for good service). All the food was excellent and the duck was the tastiest i've had, sea bass great and chicken juicy. One point for management - we were sitting beside one of the cutlery/glass stations and interrupted regularly by the noise of the kitchen staff dropping clean cutlery into the trays (not what you want when paying a £250 bill)

We are from the Prix fixe menu and I think you'd be hard pressed to find a better value tastier restaurant than this in all of Belfast. Food was delightful, winners being the Pigeon salad starter, Duck main (that skin, yum) and the generously sized sticky toffee pudding. Slight mix up with the desserts with the wrong dessert menu presented to us, although we had pointed out we were eating from the Prix fixed menu and checked if it was okay to order from normal menu (we were assured it was but this turned out to be a misunderstanding as in fact you can, but at additional cost) but it was all sorted out in the end which was good.

My husband and I arrived at the restaurant a little late and we didn't have a reservation. the attendant gave us the option of eating at the bar as there were no tables available and we liked the idea as there aren't many restaurants with vegan options in Belfast. the menu had few vegan options and we ordered the dish with tofu and chips. the restaurant was expensive and the tofu portion was very small (maybe they could have put more tofu and salads on the plate). We didn't think it was worth paying so much for such poor portions. When paying, the attendant did not give us the option to pay tip and simply added 10% to the total purchase price, forcing us to pay. We left the restaurant hungry after paying £44

Amazing! Lots of gluten free and vegetarian options. Staff definitely understands allergens and food safety. On weekdays, there are separate menus for gluten free and vegetarian. We went on a Sunday and were thrilled with so many choices. We had superfood salads with flash fried kale on top. Cocktails were quince capirinha and a blood orange margarita. And for dessert… coconut panacotta with caramelised grilled pineapple (GF) and chocolate torte with cherries and pistachios (veg). 12/10 stars! Healthy and incredibly delicious. Highly recommend!

One of the worst meals out I've had in quite some time. My partner and I booked this spot for a late lunch having seen some social media mentions and were seated in the front section of the restaurant. Quite frankly initial impressions were that it had the feel of shabby beachside cafe not a Michelin star dining spot. The atmosphere was just weird... with extremely off putting, misjudged music selection - every track was chaotic, loud and awful. The restaurant was also freezing as they had the front door lying wide open. We did ask if they could close it after sitting with our coats on for about 20 minutes. It was still unfortunately pretty chilly even after it was shut as the AC was whacked up massively high. We could have pushed past these initial things had the food experience been any better. The starters were fine, but then came the 35 minute wait between finishing our starters and the mains being brought out. There were probably no more than 12 people in the entire restaurant at this time, so it felt pretty unreasonable this took so long. Our starter plates sat finished in front of us for over 20 minutes before they were cleared, while our waiter just floated about chatting. The mains when they arrived were quite simply not good enough. My partner ordered the Gnocchi dish which could only be described as a watery, greasy, gloopy soup with lumps and after one bite confirmed inedible. I had the chicken which was marginally more appetising but was unbelievably salty and came with a soggy side of watery cabbage. Our waiter was utterly uninterested at this stage, he couldn't have been less attentive and spent most of the time faffing about behind the bar. So at this point we decided we'd cut our losses and not finish the meal. The one saving grace of the day was the very lovely restaurant manager who came over and listened to our experience. She was super attentive and apologetic and offered if we'd like to order something else, which we politely declined. She kindly took my partner's dish off the final bill also. She seemed genuinely upset that we hadn't had a good meal, and we appreciated at least her checking in with us. A real shame overall as we had higher hopes. But the food, atmosphere and general service left a lot to be desired.

I always tip at least 10% but i hate to have it added automatically as they are assuming they provided a service worth paying for. wont be back for sure, to "expect" 10% for taking my order and bringing it to me is taking the pi$$

Visited with my husband. The restaurant is comfortable and the atmosphere is good, a nice vibe. We are 1 vegan 1 omni. The omni menu was excellent he was very happy. I did enjoy my meal but it wasn't as good as I had hoped from the recommendations I had received from other vegans. Firstly the choice looks good but several dishes are listed as both a starter and a main. But most disappointing was the offer of sorbet and fruit for dessert❌️ (eye roll)...or a swap out on the panocotta. It takes very little effort to make a tasty vegan dessert. Over all good but not excellent.

For starters we had the Burrata, heirloom tomato, black garlic dressing & fennel pastry and the Smoked cod, langoustine and crab beignets, tartare sauce. The burrata and tomatos complemented each other and we're very fresh. The fennel pastry took it to another level. For main we had the Grange farm chicken, crispy colcannon, creamed celeriac, summer greens. My partner has raved about the colcannon ever since. It is one of the best things he has ever eaten. A fabulous high-end dinner at Home, selected as they have a complete gluten-free menu and lots of very tasty options. I went with the roast chicken breast which of course is all sorts of fancy on the menu. "Grange farm chicken, crispy colcannon, creamed celeriac, summer greens." It was presented perfectly and I cleared the plate. Delicious. The winner at the table was the lamb rump, served with a basil mash, ratatouille and confit lamb belly. Looked great, smelled great. Finding it bewildering to see the number of five star reviews listed for this restaurant as the experience my party and I received when we attended doesn’t even deserve 1 star. My advice to anyone looking for somewhere to dine would be go elsewhere. The food was poor. We had to send food back as it was inedible. Ironically we were told that other diners had also sent the same dish back for the same reason so it’s mad to me that we were still served it! There was a wait of 2 hours between each course and the restaurant was clearly understaffed for the number of people. This led to some of the waitresses doing their best but struggling to meet all diners needs. Some other waiting staff had clearly given up and the manager was another story all together, ineffective and rude. A blot on our time in Belfast which was otherwise fantastic.

We clearly visited on a bad day which sadly reflected in the food & standard of service. Not sure what had happened prior to our arrival but it was obvious there were issues as the waiting staff were in tears & the manager’s reaction to our concerns was irrational & very aggressive. Food was largely mediocre with 2 dishes completely inedible. You’re also not able to order nibbles while you wait despite them being on the menu?! Apparently they only offer a 2 course service… first time I’ve ever heard anything like it. After a catalogue of errors with the meal the bill then had to be amended twice causing further hostility & even when the bill was finally corrected they still tried to overcharge us on the card machine!! Would advise anyone to carefully consider booking here - I have concerns there is something going on behind the scenes due to the mood & behaviour of staff on the day. We have had far superior service & food elsewhere and thankfully the manager at Home has been the only unfriendly & rude person we have encountered during our stay. Additionally I was surprised to see a "discretionary" service charge already added to our bill. Perhaps HOME need to look up the dictionary definition of Discretionary. Visited this restaurant tonight because they offered good vegan options for my daughter and our friend who has a nut allergy. Our dinner was ok (not great) but both vegan options were inedible due to overloading on salt. Such a shame. The waiting staff did their best but massively overworked. We waited until 9.30 for mains (seated at 7 30) - and when we complained about the vegan meals and asked for them to be removed from the bill plus as a gesture for our issues and inability to resolve situation due timescale for replacement meals to gift 1 bottle of wine out of the 3 ordered the manager initially agreed. When the bill came with no deduction we asked why. She then totally lost the plot, became abusive, told us we were the worst table ever and banned us from coming again. No worries on that point as the whole experience was the worst ever and I can only say to anyone visiting Belfast - don't go. edo just down the road is way better. 0 stars for food or managerial staff, empathy and care. Feel only sympathy for the waiting staff.

I booked a table tonight for my mum's birthday and I'm glad her experience was alright because mine wasn't so great. I had ordered the chicken off the a la carte menu, asking the waiter beforehand about different ingredients in the dish (the colcannon) and what I got was completely different. I don't eat pork and the first thing I noticed was the bacon on top of the chicken, and then I received a croquette with some vegetables on the side, which to my surprise was filled with bacon. I don't know if there was a mixup between our server and the chef but I was served a completely wrong dish and had to flag them down to ask for a replacement (side dish). The service was prolonged and our server didn't check up on us once, and after messing up my order I was still charged for the dish. If you're looking for somewhere to go on a special occasion, this place is not the one as they ignored my note on the reservation stating it was my mum's birthday and wanted it to be special for her, will definitely not be returning.

During our trip to Northern Ireland, my partner and I decided to celebrate our anniversary at Home Restaurant in Belfast after reading numerous glowing reviews. I decided to make a dinner reservation for 9:30 pm. We order two nibbles, two starters, and two main courses. The food was excellent and exceeded our expectations. The food was piping hot, properly made, and beautifully presented. My fiancée enjoyed her vegan salad, and I was impressed with the Fillet of Hake with chorizo sauce, sautéed new potatoes, and sprouting broccoli. However, I must say that we felt a bit rushed during our meal, especially considering that we got and ate six dishes and half a bottle of wine in less than 45 minutes. It's possible that the hurried pace was due to the time of our reservation. Despite feeling slightly rushed, I would recommend this Restaurant for a delightful dining experience in the heart of Belfast, for an early dinner before checking the bar scene.

She was lovely and the service was perfect. The atmosphere in the restaurant is great. It was busy by the time we finished our food but the music was a good level and we could still hear each other talk even with the restaurant full. Only thing I’d change is improving the cocktails - they could be slightly better for £11 each! There is also a 10% service tip added on - which we didn’t mind as the service was perfect. We came here our first night in Belfast and it was good(ish) food - I had the salad and he had the curry - but we were pretty ignored due to some larger groups that night. The place seemed understaffed. We needed to flag down our server to get water, and when asked for our order we weren't asked just for what drinks but also asked to order our food -- basically it seemed rushed so it could get in at once and he could get back to the groups. We then finished and looked at our plates for a while before being asked if we wanted dessert. We said no, and waited another 15-20 mins to then get up and just ask to pay our bill. The sound was also loud and not really nice music playing, again not sure if thats the vibe or ? It seems like maybe on another night it could be better, but on our night it was not great.

We had a great evening at "Home". In addition to fresh sourdough bread, we ate a very tasty salad and dessert. The food was very tasteful, exceptional and inspiring. The service was very friendly and helpful. The Spanish-speaking waitress in particular was very accommodating and warm. Thank you!

Booked by for a family dinner; we were impressed by the service and the starters were absolutely delicious. Mains were nice however didn’t quite meet the high standard left by the starters. Vegan options were good and clearly outlined. Highly recommend!

A fabulous restaurant just around the corner from Belfast City Hall. The staff are really good- friendly and courteous. The menu was amazing with a huge selection to choose from, something for everyone. The food itself was beautifully presented, tasty and wholesome. I can highly recommend the Mackerel starter and the Pannacotta desert!! If you're looking for a great dining experience in Belfast, when visiting the City, Home Restaurant has got to be on your list!!

Had dinner this evening. Food was good, ordered Rioja Crianza at £31 but when bill came it was for Rioja reserva at £53. Realised that was what we had been served but not what we ordered. Paid bill as did not want a fuss but feel that it was a deliberate error and not what we would have expected from a reputable restaurant.

'Home' is an appropriate name for this restaurant since the food that came out seemed like it was made by young kids who don't know how to cook. Unfortunately, my expectations going in for an early dinner was not even close to being met. Ordered the mackerel and beetroot salad starter, risotto primavera, and sticky toffee pudding. The mackerel was so so, not really much at all on the plate and was not seasoned at all (sure it is a starter, but come on). The few pieces of salad were wimpy and wilted. I feel like if going to a Bib Gourmand restaurant, the food should come out properly seasoned straight out of the kitchen. Still, I was hungry, so ate it. Next was the risotto - yikes. Risotto should be creamy and full of depth, this was like they used a rice cooker for and then added some broth, not that the rice was simmered low for a while, allowing it to slowly cook and develop flavor. Lima beans somehow were hard, but also wrinkled. Oh, and again with the seasoning. Still ate it. Hoping that dessert will redeem it all. Unfortunately not. First couple bites of sticky toffee pudding were good (sugary, what is not to like), but after a while the sweetness was one dimensional and overwhelming. Sad experience really. Service was alright. I was seated right away, food came out quick (would have preferred that they take their time and make it right). Ambiance was fine. But overall not the kind of experience from a place listed by the Michelin Guide.

Food was average, nothing special. Lacked flavour (Except for the desserts) Service was good, but mandatory 10% tip added to bill I've been twice (once with work, once with family) and wouldn't really recommend here.

Visiting from Canada -we had a family dinner at Home on Saturday May 18 - my daughter has Coeliac disease and we had called and emailed ahead to ask about gluten free menu items. Home did not disappoint - even though it was a busy Saturday night they still knocked it out of the park with a safe, delicious gluten free meal for my daughter and a great night was had by all. Thank you hard working staff and owners of Home - very much appreciated!

I ordered a three course menu on a Sunday afternoon. Around 27 pounds without service charge. Good value for money, given that it’s in the city centre. As an asian tourist, the name of most dishes on the menu are unfamiliar to me. But turns out everything tasted great. I’m full and satisfied, though there’s no carbs so big eater might find it barely enough. Tried the sticky toffee pudding, classic delish!! Waiter’s service is lovely.

9/10. The food and service were great! My wife, 11 month old son, and I enjoyed the grilled mackerel salad, the lamb dish, and the ribeye. The mackerel salad and lamb were excellent—my wife said the lamb was as the best lamb she’s ever had which is saying a lot, trust me. The ribeye was cooked perfectly but the cut of meat was a bit tough with little fat and too much connective tissue. Our cocktails were very delicious as I had the maple old fashioned, which was on the sweeter side, but balanced with the Woodford. My wife had the White Peach Bergamot Martini and said it was awesome. Not too sweet and refreshing. The staff was wonderful and very accommodating of our son—he loved interacting with them. Would absolutely return.

Overhyped and Overpriced I recently dined at Home restaurant, and my experience was quite disappointing. Firstly, the food quality was very poor. The chicken was undercooked and lacked flavor, making it nearly inedible. Additionally, the fish was served cold and seemed like it had been sitting out for a while. Moreover, the restaurant is expensive for nothing. Given the high prices, I expected a much better dining experience. Unfortunately, the food and service did not live up to the hype. Our server was inattentive and seemed disinterested in addressing our concerns. It took an excessively long time for our meals to arrive, and when they finally did, they were not up to standard. Overall, I was very disappointed with my visit to Home restaurant. The experience fell short in many areas, and I would not recommend this restaurant based on my recent experience.

Home Restaurant is absolute perfection, with its classic dishes but perked up with just enough flair to not be presumptuous. Tonight, I ordered the oysters to start, which have ponzu, pickled ginger, and cucumber. The taste of the sweet ponzu and salty oyster is pure deliciousness. For my main, I ordered the braised pork shoulder, which is perfectly stacked over mashed potatoes, cabbage, and brown gravy, served with even more potatoes to the side. The dish is topped with fried pork skin and the entire plate is just melding together. Finally, I had just enough room for the vanilla rice pudding, which has pistachios, honeycomb, and a sweet plum compote. It was rich, creamy, crunchy, and somehow not overpowering. The service is impeccable and the inside of the restaurant is absolutely beautiful. The decor is filled with natural woods, art, and upcycled with the various cascading lights in the main dining room. The vibe is laid-back but trendy.

The best so far in Belfast, one of the staff was pleasant the other more businesses like. I particularly liked the seasonal vegetables. The pork shoulder melted in the mouth. When the cheese plate arrived I was expecting to be informed of their origin. So I asked later but they only knew there was a goats cheese. This however did not spoil an excellent meal. I will book when I visit again.

Food was solid, not great but good but not sure if it was on off day but felt like the staff were really unhappy. Looked like there were a couple of very large parties, so I don't know if that threw things off for the resto but the hostess, waitress and one of the waiters seemed almost angry. Those large parties were extremely loud too. Weird vibe, felt unusually uncomfortable there.

My partner and I were vomiting less than 2 hours after our meal and were up until the early hours of the morning. After politely informing Home, they assured us it was not their food, insinuating a mad coincidence that we both were vomiting for 5 hours for no reason 👏🏼 would 100% recommend if you want to feel violently ill. The waiting staff were lovely, can’t comment on the adequacy of the kitchen staff 😊 *EDIT* Over a week later and I am still suffering with this and have been told by my doctor that I have prolonged food poisoning.

This was one of the very best meals we had while in Ireland. We were in Belfast for the weekend, and a tour guide, who was a former chef, highly recommended this restaurant. There were many options especially for vegetarians. The food was very flavorful and reasonably priced as was the wine. Service was spot on and our dinner was absolutely delicious. Wish we could bring this place home with us! Thank you for a wonderful meal!

I had written a decent review of this restaurant but have recently looked at the whole menu and am disgusted to see "foie gras" on it. The immense cruelty to ducks and geese ( beautiful innocent creatures) to obtain this food delicacy is beyond words. I'll never be back.

Really good meal with wonderful service. The only reason this was a 4 star instead of a 5 was because the cut of lamb I got was not as great as I was expecting. It just felt like a chewier piece of meat and while it was cooked and flavored really well, just had pieces that were inedible. The rocket side salad was good, the fries were great. The dessert was also really really well made. Would highly suggest this place, but maybe with a different main.

Looked good from the outside but a little grubby inside. They maybe need to freshen it up a little. We had a cheese sandwich and sausage roll and a couple of tray bakes. The sandwich was pretty poor but the rest was nice enough. Average prices. Waiting staff very pleasant and helpful as seems to be the case in Belfast overall.
