It’s no Cornerhouse. Feels kinda lifeless. The staff are lovely tho. But the building has no soul. Bring back the Cornerhouse!

I love HOME. Their Film Pass is great value and encourages me to broaden my horizons and see films I might not have otherwise paid full admission for. Their food is always fresh and tasty, not too pricey, and their free exhibitions are always worth looking at. There is always something to do or see at HOME and I spend a hell of a lot of time there.

Excellent cinema. Large screens in small rooms almost like home. Reasonable selection of international films. So pleased to have this place. It also has a lovely bar, restaurant, theatre and art gallery. Parking nearby can be hard but hey Ho it's in the city centre so.....

Why do I feel that the theatre staff dislike the public so much? Try to be more friendly less first year Eng lit student like. The audience pays for this place via its tickets and public subsidies....

Llegué 45 minutos antes de la hora de inicio de la película y todavía estábamos esperando a que nuestra orden de bebida se tomara 20 minutos después a pesar de que era bastante tranquilo! No quería arriesgarme a perderme el comienzo de la película, así que fuimos abajo por vino y patatas fritas. Recomendaría llegar allí con tiempo suficiente o comer en uno de los otros establecimientos cercanos después en su lugar. El menú es decente, pero 20 + minutos de espera para ser reconocido es demasiado para mí personalmente.

Good place and we saw a great version of Macbeth here in there cinema. Coffee bar service needs to be improved, staff seem distracted at times and not focussed on the customers.

Best independent film cinema in Manchester (although lately they had quite commercial movies.. I imagine more profitable) The staff are always nice and food is decent.

The movie was good and it is nice

12.25 for a serving of burnt toast uncooked on one side, some leaves and falafel with very little sauce. Served without butter, had to catch a waitperson to ask for butter, The (bar) food really lets this place down - I love the cinema. They did redo on being asked but I will avoid eating here in future.

Loved this place, food was very tasty, loved the views from the dining room windows. The set menu is very reasonable.

Great venue, intimate and relaxed cinema, great food in the first floor restaurant but found the service unnecessarily surly, abrupt, condescending and generally unpleasant. Clearly some people here should not work with the public. Will eat elsewhere next time.

Reservamos una mesa en el restaurante Home Bar & Kitchen para una cena de celebración del 80 cumpleaños para mi tía. Es un restaurante espacioso con amplios ventanales con estupendas vistas. Las sillas eran muy cómodas y la mesa era de un tamaño agradable para nuestra fiesta ( x 6 ) . La comida era de primera clase y deliciosa. Tuve el Sunday Roast que recomendaría. Hermosa comida en un ambiente relajante encantador. Debimos pasar alrededor de 3 horas allí sin presión para irnos. El personal era todo amable y eficiente y sin duda recomendaría cenar aquí si quieres una comida en un ambiente relajado con tiempo para ponerse al día con amigos o familiares.

Home is great in many aspects but all of their food in the ground floor area is served in disposable single use packaging to people eating in. This has been going on for years and is outrageous. Let's be honest the cinema will never be as good as the cornerhouse but they could try harder, for example why are 50 percent of the adverts before the film for really creepy AI products and services that will obliterate the arts. Also it's annoying that I'm a cost of living crisis they automatically add a charity donation for their own charity to the cost of your ticket. Which you then have to actively remove if you can't afford it etc.. charity is great but it's insensitive in the current climate to ask people to have to opt out.

A lovely venue. We visited to see a theatre production Mariupol Drama. Such a powerful and emotional performance. Nice relaxing bar area.

I recently visited HOME to watch a film on a Saturday night. It’s the first time I’ve been here and I loved it! I used to work at an independent cinema in the midlands for 6 plus years and there is no comparison! Great atmosphere, lovely cinema and buzzing and lively. Will definitely be returning!

Good coffee, cakes a bit dry, having to serve yourself is a little odd. Lovely vibe in the building.

Went to see miracle on 34th street. Omg what an incredible cast! HOME itself was clean and very well signposted! Bar was great and staff were welcoming. Highly recommend!

I went to see 6888 the movie. Nice atmosphere and surroundings. Staff were polite helpful and friendly.

One of my most favourite places in town. All of it, the bar, the restaurant, the outdoor area and the cinema. Great food, anything but a copy paste from 99% of UK bistros, flavourful, fresh and reasonably priced. Love the relaxed service and jazz and soul music sipping from the speakers. Feels like home.

The lounge type chairs need to b replaced. They are far too deep and wide for the majority of people. Unconformable as you have to sit on the edge at an angle and therefore there is no hack support. REPLACE

Really lovely spot for both casual and professional meetings. Spaces on the upper floors can be booked for events, and food and drink is served on multiple levels. The event catering was great with a good variety of tasty foods, catered for individual needs. Would definitely visit again!

Went to watch a film. Small cinema big screen. Lovely place.

Hired the event space for a 60th birthday party. The team were FANTASTIC from the moment we enquired about booking the space. Steph and Joanne were so quick with communication and prep for the big night and Felix ran the evening perfectly, helping us with our every need making the whole event go off without a single issue. Shout out to the team behind the bar too who were so friendly and so much fun! The space was perfect and the price was very fair compared to other venues we researched. Would recommend to anyone planning a party for 40+ people in MCR.

Great venue for a drink and to watch a play. I only get it 4 stars as it is a shame that the ice cream has to be purchased at the bar. I went to purchase one at half time of the show and it had melted before I got served . You can buy popcorn at the box office but not pay for your ice cream . When I asked the member of staff was very abrupt.

Visited for animation festivals and it was fantastic. The food in the restaurant was also great.

Great choice of films, good seats, glad the bar has its own cider.

The shows and vibes here are fantastic, but the scalding hot taps are a burn injury waiting to happen, it needs sorting before some small child burns their hand and requires a trip to hospital.

A wonderful, independent arts centre with theatres, cinemas and gallery spaces. The bar is excellent with a great selection of kegs and cask ales. The restaurant upstairs is a hidden gem: a relaxed environment with good service, really good food including a cracking Sunday roast, and incredibly reasonable prices.

Delicious salad bowl with piri piri chicken and Turkish green beans. Light and refreshing for a late dinner after watching a film.

Such an amazing and unique place. I had the monthly unlimited cinema pass for a while and an absolute bargain for £18. Havnt tried the restraint yet but heard good things from friends.

I enquired as to if it were possible to return a ticket to a sold out show - the response was a bit vague and I assumed it was not - however checking my account today it seems I have been credited, so I would say excellent service on that!

Fantastic restaurant, very spacious, had plenty of room for our large family gathering. The food was both of excellent quality and great quantity. All food was enjoyed by the whole family and many of us had delicious desserts too! Went back recently and had the roast, which was 10/10! Great choices for infant meals too 👶🏼

HOME is my favourite place and safe haven in Manchester. You’ve got to watch films from different film festivals (Cannes etc) which you don’t get to watch in chains, be it independent or international cinema. They also have special screenings and QnAs with directors. Their film pass is just perfect for a cinephile like me!

Came for the first time last night and loved it! There's something wholesome about coming to a small independent charity ran cinema with movies beyond the mainstream. The cafe/bar is awesome too. Loved their home brew cider; would come again just for that! If I'm being VERY picky, I'd like to be able to lift the arm rests on the cinema chairs but that's a be very very minor complaint. I'll definitely be coming again

Went to see a play here not visited for a while really enjoyed my visit great venue and good to see it being so well utilised. Good selection of food and drink available quick service and friendly staff. Easy disabled access. I will be returning again soon. Wish they still had their little gift shop open

We loved it! We drank in the bar downstairs, we ate at the restaurant upstairs and we watched a show at the theatre. I'm told there are cinemas upstairs again. Showing 'Kneecap' I noticed which I fancied seeing! We saw 'Two of Us' it wasn't perfect but it was enjoyable and the chap playing Paul McCartney really looked and sounded like him. Pretty impressive. The play? I'm not so sure but the theatre: excellent! We shall be back!!! Food was good too!

Overall it's a nice place to spend a couple of hours. Service is good and the ambience has a nice buzz. Food wasn't the best I've had here, the dips and tortilla was ok but the pizza didn't deliver as it should have. The lower ratings were for the price, it's not value for what we got.

Had a look around HOME. Looks very trendy. There are some great films and shows on their schedule. Will be returning.

The restaurant manager has an awful attitude. I frequently visit this HOME theatre in Manchester to enjoy films, exhibitions and I genuinely love the cozy atmosphere. However, my recent experience left much to be desired. Before the film, my partner and I decided to grab a coffee and a cake in a restaurant and sat at one of the tables to enjoy them. Unfortunately, the manager—a large-built man—approached us and stated that the tables were for those who ordered food, even though the theatre was far from full. This interaction felt incredibly rude and created an uncomfortable atmosphere, making us feel unwelcome. After we moved to another table, one of the staff members informed us that we needed to 'order' the table before sitting down. When I asked her to assist us with that, she did so very reluctantly. To make matters worse, the manager returned shortly after to question the staff member in front of us about why we were sitting there, which heightened our discomfort. The overall demeanor of the staff seemed unhappy and on edge, which contributed to the negative experience. It's disheartening because I really enjoy this venue, but such interactions can overshadow the enjoyment of my visits. I sincerely hope that management takes this feedback to improve customer service.

Had a great experience at HOME watching a movie

We had our wedding at HOME, and it was the most beautiful venue for an urban wedding. From day one, Steph, the events coordinator, was absolutely fantastic, ensuring that we had the most relaxed and perfect day. She was always responsive and friendly, making the planning process a breeze. On the day of the wedding, Steph and Felix, along with the rest of the staff, did a wonderful job. Their coordination was seamless, and we are so grateful for their efforts. Most importantly, the food was incredible—our guests are still talking about how amazing it was, even a month later. The cinema is also great and always have a nicely curated selection. The outside space is very enjoyable on a sunny day with a pint.

I have only visited the bar here and not seen any productions. The bar serves a wide range of drinks including a nice selection of non alcoholic drinks. The bar staff were nice and friendly and happy to make a custom drink. Would recommend as a good place to take a breather while in Manchester.

My favourite cinema in the world. Love the atmosphere here, fantastic listings, fantastic selection of events and screenings, such an incredible hub for the community and culture in Manchester. Great staff and customer service as well. Love it. Can’t recommend it enough.

Nice and clean and interesting. Lovely homemade cake and cappuccino for £3.95. wow. Gone up to £4.95. Still reasonable. Now £5.50. Now £6.

Comida china excepcional, decoración, servicio y ágil para atender a todas las necesidades y tipos de huéspedes (se empacó en el almuerzo tan contento de que reservamos). Pedimos todo el dim sum y estaba delicioso - una manera tan brillante de brunch / almuerzo donde el formato se está volviendo aburrido ahora con opciones convencionales en otros lugares y se sintió auténtico (con la ayuda del personal que fue rápido para seleccionar el mejor en el menú, pero había tantos para elegir - debemos volver). Este lugar sin duda se convertirá en uno de los favoritos donde está tan cerca de la calle del canal - así que reserve mientras es una joya escondida y tomar su gente favorita solamente.
