Ordered £160 take away. Received order worth £9. Phoned to resolve and received no help at help. Told too busy to help and hung up on us!! Used them many times in past successfully but awful tonight. Will pursue for refund.

I celebrated my lockdown birthday and mothers day by ordering my favourite Indian Takeaway. I mentioned it was my birthday on placing my order and I was given several additional items to my order which was a lovely surprise. Every time I order I am never disappointed by the food when it arrives. They have such a wide range of dishes and are always ready to assist with any special dietary requirements. l live in Crystal Palace and unfortunately they do not deliver to postal area so can only buy when I am seeing Mum or pre lockdown at my friends house. I would like to say a big thank you to the Management at Holy Cow for my birthday treats.

Didn't order via Deliveroo. The driver was very good at finding our place. The food arrived fast and is great. Thank you Holy Cow Balham team! Again Thank you to the driver for the quick delivery.

We were so disappointed with our takeaway from Holy Cow. The chicken kebab starter was made from minced chicken with soooo much garlic, not good. The Dahl was pretty much soup, but crunchy bits of garlic in, not good. Lastly the chickpea side was just flavourless and thrown together, not properly cooked down - again not good! They don’t re-use their cartons either, more landfill. :(

One of the best Indians in London. Ignore the fake reviews, they are stooges for other curry houses ! Holy Cow is honestly the best Indian in town. Delicious.

Ordered a delivery and shortly afterwards I received a call from a lady who demanded that I provide my house number for the driver. Our address does not have a house number, which I explained clearly, with directions. We live on a busy residential street and the post code brings you to the door. She proceeded to demand that I provide the house number because I had wasted 10 minutes of her time (the phone call lasted 3 minutes), and that the driver would be unable to find our address so we would have to go without food. Bearing in mind that we had already paid for £30+ for food, I was in shock. This was not just disappointing but completely inexcusable behaviour, no idea how somebody as rude and inarticulate has a job anywhere near a phone. I used to love this place but I certainly won't be returning. The food is overpriced and the portions are embarrassing.

We thought the food tasted great just felt that it was very expensive for what we got. We have tried other local places and felt like we got a lot better value for money elsewhere. Shame because we were looking forward to trying this and felt a bit disappointed.

Have ordered a lamb biriyani and a lamb bhuna from Holy Cow on Balham High Road. Both were dire. It is unbelievable that a restaurant would send out such poor quality food. Avoid. Chris Corrigan, Balham

Ordered from here this evening. Food turned up cold and we found large pieces of plastic in the curry. When we phoned up to complain they weren't surprised and laughed. If I could give 0 stars, I would. Never again.

Holy Cow always delivers the goods. It is hands down the best indian take out in London (and i have tried a fare few). Always fresh and tasty. and love the big crunchy poppadum and mango chutney that come complimentary. we have this a little to often than our wallets would like as other reviewers have stated it is a little more expensive than the usual. It's so good it's worth it though and they do free delivery so really if you factor in deliveroo charges if you were to go somewhere else its not too bad. 100% reliable tasty indian. however note delivery time is on average 50 minutes so be sure to get orders in well before you are actually hungry especially fri/sat nights.

I ordered take-away based on a few reviews and it was absolutely delicious. The dishes I ordered were well-balanced in terms of spices, the sauces rich and ingredients tasted fresh. I will definitely order from them again!

Las mejores marcas para esta comida para llevar - realmente fresco y aún caliente cuando llegue. Un poco caro (unos 35 libras para dos), pero probablemente vale la pena.

Tried Holy Cow's delivery service for the first time recently to check it out. The food arrived at our home quickly enough, but the popadums were tainted with the flavour of stale oil, the bhajees were soggy; and the main dishes came encased in various forms of tasteless slop. We found it impossible to eat more than a small amount before we gave up. Absolutely horrible stuff. We shall revert to the safe hands of the excellent Cumin Club on Hambalt Road - their food has a zing which was completely missing from Holy Cow's offering.

I think this is Indian food for a very Western audience. It is very fatty, and though nice enough I would not say it is mind blowing, but it is what it is.

Have ordered take away from Holy Cow several times, generally the food is tasty and arrives within 1 hour of placing the order. Some dishes are a bit average but we have learnt which ones are a 10/10. It is by far the best Indian takeaway in the area.

Brilliant food, amazing quality! The starters are amazing and so are the mains. Always piping hot and never greasy at all, and if you want to change the order slightly they always adhere to your needs. I never order from anywhere else. Best Indian I've had in London by far, and I have lived in India :)

I'm a little surprised by the two bad reviews for this takeaway because the meal I just had was absolutely delicious. At £26 for two people, it certainly wasn't cheap, but that's Balham for you. Best Indian takeaway I've had in London.

I hate writing bad reviews but what we got last night was quite awful mush, not all of it, but most of it leaving us with the feeling 'why did we just eat that stuff' and 'how I wish I owned a stomach pump' - I love curry but not this! And then there was the wait, one hour so we collected it ourselves!

I can say this is probably the worst ever Indian Takeaway I have had. The Chef clearly has never tasted good Asian food - there was the absolutely minimum in terms of flavour in the chicken curry, the aloo palak and veg curries that I got. They seemed to have forgotten about the lovely complexity of flavours and spice you get with Asian food - decent quality chicken, but bland taste to the sauce. The Aloo Palak (which actually means potato spinach) had no spinach in it - very large pieces of potato and in stead of spinach somebody hard the smart idea to use Kale instead....including the very chewy thick stems that it comes with. Again no decent selection of spices - more like boiled potatoes and kale - what a waste of money.

What's great. The food. The Mutton Rolls and Vardi starters were excellent. Then Devil Chicken, a gap, then the Chicken Poriyal. Both great. Then, then, then...a very long gap. To be fair the place was busy and the queue of delivery drivers shows how good the food is. Finally asked the staff and chicken fried rice and noodles arrived along with the lentil and Pol rotis arrived. The Lentil curry is just the best I've ever had. If I could I'd give Kothu a 3.9. No criticism of the staff who are friendly and the food is excellent. The beer is reasonably priced. I'll go again.

We had high expectations of this BYOB restaurant as there was a considerable queue for a table when we visited. When we eventually got a table we waited quite a while for our order to be taken and then, throughout the service, had to ask for dishes that had been ordered but not brought to the table. The waitress seemed particularly disinterested. The food was not cheap and was disappointing - surprisingly bland, in fact.. An emotive issue, I know, but the Palestinian flag appearing on the advertising monitors in the restaurant, was, we thought, unnecessary in a commercial environment. All in all, a mildly disappointing experience.

I would give 0 star if possible. Chicken Yakatori and Chicken Gochujang Rice Bowl were both flavourless, stone cold and were presented with a small portion of meat. The Chicken Gochujang Rice Bowl was comparable to cooked and sliced supermarket chicken that had been boiled. Portion of this meat was incredibly small. No spicy gochujang flavour. The veg was miserable looking and wilted horribly. Received £12 refund for a £52 order in total from Deliveroo. Just disgraceful. Everyone's food stone cold and flavourless.
