Was given a wine tour and tasting And afternoon tea for tea for a big birthday Decided to book and stay night Was told room would be ready for 2 o'clock it was nearly 2.30 when the room was available The wine tour was very interesting and the tour guide was very good and we learnt alot about wine . Afternoon tea was lovely and really enjoyed it Staff ,we had no issues with any staff. The wine was expensive to buy but bought some any way Accommodation I really would not recommend to stay overnight, the room was cold and NOT Worth the money we paid. I would say definitely do the wine tour and tasting but give the overnight stay a miss.

We were given a gift voucher for Holmfirth Vineyard and we used it today for a tour and afternoon tea. It did not disappoint. The tour guide was excellent, all the other staff were polite, friendly, and attentive too. The afternoon tea was one of the best I've had (and I do enjoy an afternoon tea). We ate this surrounded by beautiful views. Im not really an alcohol drinker but the wines tasted nice. Overall a really nice day out, I would highly recommend.

Exceptional venue. My daughters wedding was held here recently. It is a fabulous place, I can't rate it highly enough. Our day was perfect made so my the hard working team of staff behind Tom, they literally worked their socks off to give us a superb, memorable, and most beautiful wedding day. A three course wedding breakfast for 40 seated guests was managed professionally and expertly. Food was off the scale. Everyone who attended has since said that firstly, they didn't know the Vineyard existed, and secondly, they would be returning for meals, coffees, etc. Every member of staff was warm, friendly and helpful, nothing too much trouble. Quite simply, I could write on and on about Holmfirth Vineyard, but until you visit yourself, you will not necessarily find this review relatable....just go visit, you will be delighted. Great package deal of a wine tour with dinner, bed and breakfast. Nigel the guide was superb, funny and knowledgeable. Not many grapes to see in April in Yorkshire but interesting and worthwhile visit. Food was excellent, wine was lovely and accommodation was nice and spacious. Only minor grumble would be the dinner service is quite early in the evening and PG tips teabags with the kettle in the room. Maybe with climate change I'll go back in a couple of years and see them growing proper Yorkshire tea. 😁

Booked here few days after Valentine’s Day for dinner. Incredible views and love the window tables. The food was 5 stars. Absolutely delicious, fresh and flavourful. But the service was poor. The younger staff who waited on us didn’t seem knowledgeable or care. Like not knowing anything about the wines they produced. And just dumping the wine on the table with a loud thud. Not offering to open/pour the bottle. As well as no check in on our meal or how we are doing. Only came by to drop food off. Didn’t feel welcomed. Very scattered service too and lack of attention to detail. Also was not busy by any means, only 2-3 other tables. This place has potential to be great but service is not up to par.

We knew from the first open day visit that the vineyard was the one. Every other venue we saw just didn't compare! The events team were all very easy to deal with and down to earth. On the wedding day itself everything went to plan (to our knowledge) and we and all the guests had such a fantastic day. All guests commented on how spectacular the food was and of course the view/location speaks for itself! We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this wedding venue to anyone we know! Special thanks to Mia, Holly and Tom for making our day unforgettable! The only issue that we had was that we had to source alternative accommodation for the night before as there was another wedding at the vineyard. Something to bear in mind that you may need to get ready and stay over the night before somewhere else.

We were treated to an overnight stay with breakfast and wine tasting as a Christmas present. The location is stunning but having visited many vineyards in the world the vineyard was a bit ramshackle and didn’t look so well kept as we have seen. The talk about the beginnings of the vineyard was interesting but basically it is a hospitality venue being supported by the wine tasting tours which cannot produce enough wine to sustain itself, the wine is brought from their other vineyard in Robin Hoods bay. On our tasting there was no red wine available. We ate in their restaurant where their own wine isn’t on the menu - the food was surprisingly good though. The apartments were very tired and dated, there were no toiletries except for handwash and the floors felt as though they were going to give way and go through to the floor below. Outside the apartments was very untidy and needed an overhaul. There was a lack of privacy and you could clearly see into every room, extra net curtains are needed for the bedroom windows.

There was a handrail, but some lighting would have good appreciated, particularly as the weather was typically British. Nevertheless, once inside we were greeted by a delightful young man and shown to our table. I chose the venison, which was superb. Followed by the creme brulee, which was equally delicious. Visited the vineyard for afternoon tea having bought a voucher from one of the travel apps. Good value and enjoyed the talk and walk, and the afternoon tea. Decided to buy a bottle of red wine, Regent, which we had sampled during the wine talk. £19 seemed a lot for a bottle of 1923 vintage, but "supporting a local business" seemed a good enough excuse. Opened the wine at a dinner party at our home with friends who used to live near the vineyard. They live in France now and wine is part of their life. First taste....... VINEGAR!!! Fortunately nobody had swallowed, so all four of us spit back into the glass. The bottle full went down the sink. A very expensive bottle of vinegar. Now I have been drinking wine for years, and had a 'maison secondaire' in Brittany for many years and appreciate it does happen. Not my first bottle of 'vinegar', probably not my last. I emailed the vineyard and suggested they check their stock. I am still waiting for a reply.nShame really a response would have been nice!

Really lovely vineyard tour, luckily it was a fine day and we got to sit in the seating area within the vines, tour guide was very informative and funny, second half of tour was in the barn where we where told about the process from grape to wine followed by tasting, it was a bit crowded in there with only a couple of small couches which where grabbed by the younger generation. Wines are what you'd expect of English wines, the rose wine probably the best. We had lunch in the restaurant afterwards which was outstanding although the staff where attentive to start with it seemed to drop off when we wanted desserts seemingly more intent on setting up tables for next customers, we eventually went to the bar to order ! Would recommend tour but don't bother buying "adopt a vine" you don't get what you paid for and had no response to email sent 🤔

On the positive side, this vineyard is in the most beautiful location, and there is a funny, entertaining and interesting tour guide. The food ranged from nice - inedible, most being mediocre, basically catering pack-style pub food. The wine was probably what you'd expect from Yorkshire - fairly high in acidity - hence the white and rosé were refreshing when cold, but the red was best avoided, especially when raw and young. The service was mixed. When we arrived, we noticed someone who appeared to be a guest (because she didn't look up from her laptop) at a large table near the entrance. Several minutes later, she got up, greeted us unsmilingly and told us to wait at this table while our own was prepared. It took some time before a drinks order was taken and even longer for the drinks to arrive. The waiting staff were, at least, pleasant young people, but presumably busy. It took two hours to serve drinks and two courses on a midweek lunchtime.

The Vineyard is located in a great area with fantastic views of the local are while we enjoyed our food. The car park at the Vineyard was fairly small so could be quite difficult to get parked at busier times as there would be nowhere else to park due to the location. The service at the Vineyard was okay, although staff were friendly and would be happy to do anything for you, we found the service itself to be quite slow and had to wait longer than we would of wanted for a handful of things. Firstly, lovely place. Nigel was funny and knowledgeable about his job and the vineyard. Beautiful views of Yorkshire. Downsides, got there 10 minutes early, told to stand outside in the rain and wait. No complimentary umbrellas if needed. Walking through the 'vineyard' was basically between 2 sets of vibes and sat on a hard bench whilst told about history of the place. Wine tasting was a disappointment. Told there would be seating, there were 2 old dirty type sofas, so nowhere near enough space for 40 people to sit down. Also same glass was used for all 3 wines tasted, the wine was splosed, literally into glasses all over people's hands and my shoes. No really the chic experience I was expecting. Food for lunch ok, bit overpriced. Biggest disappointment, no white wine that they produce available from the vineyard and were sold some French wine at £24 a bottle that was supposed to be similar to thier white wine. I can tick it off the bucket list, but overall a massive disappointment.

Oh dear what a disappointment we were looking forward to a meal and booked well in advance for our 25th wedding anniversary and made it clear we were bringing a small dog which we were told was okay. We arrived a little early and was greeted by a gentleman that asked if we would like to have a drink outside whilst we waited for our table. After sitting outside for 20 minutes without an offer of a drink we went in to find a young lady using her phone who asked if everything was okay. When I said we had been waiting for drink she apologized and showed us to a table in the corner which was ideal because the dog was under the table and out of the way of any other diners. This waitress took our order for food and drinks and returned promptly with drinks but said we should not be sitting at that table with a dog but the manager said he would let it go on this occasion. We were told that anyone with a dog should sit outside or in the reception room, neither of which are suitable for eating a meal, outside the tables are about 150 mm higher than than they should be for a comfortable eating position and you are reliant on good weather because its not covered and inside the chairs are sofas which again would be very uncomfortable to eat a meal at. We were keen to try the local white wine but were informed there was none available, but Rose was, so we ordered two glasses. The wine came to the table and was at room temperature and was nothing special. Starter came out and was okay, we had prawn and salmon nothing amazing then we both had a swordfish steak which was served with a Greek salad. Sorry to say the fish was extremely salty and we like a lot of salt and it did not go with the strong cheese served with the salad. We waited 20 minutes to have our desert order taken and we were told that what we wanted was sold out. This was the last straw so we got up and went to pay the bill and at the till noticed some of the local red wind so purchased a bottle to take away. At nearly £20 we were expecting something nice but it was very disappointing and over priced. This is not Dog friendly, which is fine, we do not expect restaurants to allow dogs in, so make it clear at time of booking. Please sit at your outside tables and see if you could eat a meal comfortably. We love a good meal and ate at the Old stamp house in Ambleside three days earlier (without the dog) so know a little about fine dining which this was clearly not.

We were really looking forward to a family wedding weekend but when we drove past the accommodation there was scaffolding up and workmen working!! Can only describe it as a building site!!! Upon arrival to the restaurant to check in we were told we couldn’t check in till after 6pm and no one had thought to let anybody know who was staying there including the bride and groom!! When we eventually were allowed to get into the rooms after 8pm it was still like a building site. No railings on the new bannister (they were having to replace due to it being deemed unsafe that week) so we were told. The rooms were dirty and in need of a refurb . Mould around the bath, sink and toilet. Cobweb's on the ceiling in the lounge area etc. the building work carried on until after 10.30pm with drilling the bannister on. Outside the rooms there were bare wires hanging. Dirt, dust, machinery, no seating. Manager was nowhere to be seen for an explanation or apology!!! We were given a free meal as nobody could get change to go for the meal we had booked but unless you liked stake or fish you were left with nothing much else to choose. It totally spoiled our weekend and would not recommend it to anyone. All the rooms were booked by family for the wedding day!!! VERY DISAPPOINTED

We had a brilliant day. Really enjoyed the whole experience. A gift from family for Lunch and the Tour / Tasting. Never appreciated how much goes into making wine before...just usually quaff it back :) Ash was a fantastic Guide / Sommelier / Waiter, and so knowledgeable and passionate about his art. I learnt so much I didn't know I needed to know! The other staff members were also great. Lunch was high quality and very tasty (swordfish), along with a bottle of Solaris, which paired well, and is very definately a White that can hold its' own among the 'old world', and newer global producers. Certainly far superior to a lot of cheap Supermarket puddlewater. The Rosé was pleasantly not as sweet as you might expect, and as explained, because it's grown to be enjoyed young, the Red wasn't as deep and bold as it's bouquet might promise, but still very nice. Can't comment on the accomodation because they were fully booked for the time we visited. We stayed 10 minutes away, which enabled us to go back the next day to grab a couple of cases of wine for us to savour another time. Beautiful venue. Thanks for having us! All the very best wishes for the future.

The food, staff and tour was absolutely excellent. However the accommodation needs some real attention. Very shabby and not worth the money.

To start I would highly recommend the wine tour, Ash was great, the wine was lovely and the restaurant food was outstanding, Where it went down hill fast was the accommodation, builders were banging about and had left a mess, this wasn't mentioned at any point to us, when booking or checking in, When we asked we were told they are tidying it up for a wedding at the weekend, but happy to affect our stay. Next issue was in the room, the amount of mould and flaking on the ceiling was disgusting and quite frankly a healthy hazard, The lights in the bedroom were falling out! For some reason there was no pillow case on the bed pillows which were dirty?! There was no wood for the heater, Unfortunately this ruined our stay. I would love to recommend the food and wine tasting but find somewhere else to stay. Please see attached photos.

Absolutely robbed so disappointed. We have a family member whose dream it was to visit here so we booked a package for her to stay for her 60th Birthday. She visited this weekend really excited for a relaxing break. Her package was to include an afternoon tea, vineyard tour and wine tasting, meal and overnight stay. Upon arrival they charged her an extra £30 because apparently they said her voucher is only valid during the winter. Despite me calling and emailing upon booking them to be clearly told the vouchers could be used anytime up until November 2025 with no mention of any extra charges. Their accommodation was literally in the middle of what can only be described as a very active building site. Tools everywhere, contractors everywhere with full view into their room. I would even call it dangerous. A far cry from the relaxing break advertised they were forced to listen to the workmen swearing and the drills going all day. I would not expect them to rent those rooms out to anyone when having such works done to the accommodation, nevermind actually not even make them aware of this before the trip and offer an alternative date. Once inside the accommodation they found that the electrical appliances would not work in the kitchen and therefore had to move them into the living room to be able to use them. The toilet seat also fell off upon first use. The rooms were dated and need a good refurb / clean. They let them know that the room had electrical faults and a broken toilet seat but said the reception did not seem bothered. They said the vineyard is tiny and the tour is just someone chatting to them with a whiteboard. They even said they were close to falling asleep and the entire gist of the tour was really boring and just talking about all of the machines they USED to use but are all now broken to various reasons. They did however enjoy the afternoon tea and said the food was the best part of the weekend. Overall I actually feel really bad for booking it for them. What I thought would be a luxury experience somewhere special turned out to be an absolute con. They booked time off work, paid for boarding for the dogs (as it isn't pet friendly) and travelled all the way there for what was actually a nightmare. I also feel robbed of my money too. I really wish this was a positive and glowing review because we usually go out of our way to support small local businesses but I just wanted to make people aware of an honest experience. (it won't let me upload the videos of the constant drilling noise).

We came for a high tea whilst on holiday from Australia. A great location, high on the hills of Holmfirth. Windy doesn't describe it. The high tea was excellent, preceded with a glass of Prosecco. Highly recommended.

Fantastic stay with fabulous views over looking God's country. The apartments are very well equipped. We had a 3-bedroom one, brilliant. Yes, some wear and tear, but they are mostly full booked week in and week out, so there will be. We did have an issue with our hot water and towel rail but was sorted very quickly by the manager. We had a ground floor apartment, and because they have laminate flooring, you hear the people above walking around. The vineyard tour with Ash was great, and we were lucky enough to have it outside in the sunshine. Lovely evening meal and breakfast. Staff are very friendly. Go ahead and book

Where do we start with the Vineyard, we got married just under a week ago and can not thank the vineyard enough for making our day run so smoothly, all the preparation, communication and assistance was second to none. If you are thinking of choosing the vineyard for your wedding DO IT ! Staff amazing, food delicious, great drinks selection, very reasonable pricing and the view to die for. We would do it all over again in heartbeat, thank you to all the staff and Mia who was fantastic in creating our special day. Giving 5 stars is discrediting the vineyard, its a 10/10.

Attended an intimate wedding in their function room and spent about 2 days here. The accommodation is very spacious and lovely - waking up to a beautiful courtyard, and in between the vineyard and the restaurant. Wine was quite good, food wasn't much to shout about but the overall value of our experience made up for it. Staff were friendly and helpful all round, and simply a spectacular place to get lovely photos in.

Lovely high tea overlooking beautiful views into the valley. Thought the vineyard talk was a little too detailed and went on far too long, probably fine for wine connoisseurs but not for me who was just interested in the basics of the processes.

Recieved as a gift afternoon tea and a tour of the vineyard - I phoned the day before as the weather forecast was dire - no vm facility ? Then phoned again on the morning of the 'tour' to confirm the tour was still going ahead despite Amber warnings in the area for flood - footnotes on the website say to ensure suitable clothing is worn - hence why I phoned to see if umberallas were available. So all kitted out in wellies and rainproof coat. Afternoon tea was superb - couldn't fault it - delicious - however the tour for me was quite a waste of time - the very knowledgavle man spoke very passionately about wine - but he explained 98% of the crop had been ruined the previous year therefore the machinery used had been taken to the 'sister' site in Robin Bay- he explained that the essence - 250 bottles had been produced at the other site on the coast- so no wine had been made there in over a year - so the small samples hadn't even been made in the area?? - the duration of the 'tour' we stood in small barn with machinery that hadn't been used - we wasn't offered a walk about - chairs for 8 ppl despite 26 of us being there - lovely man talking but a waste of an hour and a 15 stood up listening to how wine is made basically in 'the region' and UK - save yourself 25 quid a couple - buy a bottle of wine and watch the process on YouTube instead - the owners don't even live there now says alot.

4.90 for a pint of Carling? You saw me take a fiver out my wallet and decided to see how much you could get out me didn't ya, ya skeleton warrior. Seems nice inside, cozy decor and big TVs with sports on. Toilets were clean, even had paper in this economy! A luxury I paid for with my pint apparently.

A very nice takeaway, very friendly staff, my wife doesn’t like onions, so they make the dish without onions, I like mine extra spicy, and that’s how they make it.just ask, they will help. Very tasty food, nice flavours. SADLY SHANGHAI PALACE, HAVE NOW CLOSED, WE WISH THEM ALL THE BEST FOR THE FUTURE.

Have recently moved in nearby and pop in for a sandwich for lunch reasonably often. Haven't sat in all that often, but always lovely service, very friendly. The sandwiches are well filled, not short changed, although sometimes can have a bit too much salad cream and get a bit messy!
