The staff were very helpful and extremely friendly, making the experience all the better. A very tasty breakfast, in a clean, comfortable and well-appointed restaurant with a panoramic view of the stunning surroundings.

This weekend my wife and I had an absolutely soooooooooperb experience. We had a vineyard tour afternoon tea a snack for evening meal an overnight stay and breakfast in the morning. WE WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK.Thanks Holly Leanne Steve Ryan Connor Ash Helena and Deanooo

Lovely place! We came here to share an afternoon tea with my dad which we really enjoyed. Food was great quality and the staff were all super polite and friendly. The views from the restaurant were superb - even on a cold and miserable January afternoon! Would love to see it in the summer.

Really nice place to visit, a bit tired in places that just need a bit of TLC. Great food and really lovely staff.

The vineyard experience is fantastic and worth doing. The main wine grower/grape expert is full of incredible knowledge and humor. The wine is brilliant and the highlight is the rose. It is exquisite and worth a purchase.

Magnificent. Gorgeous location atop panoramic views of West Yorkshire farmland, hills, valleys, moors and of course, the state of the art vineyards. Nigel, the guide and craftsman, was equally Magnificent; hilarious, welcoming, deeply knowledgeable, skilled at his art and craft. The afternoon tea was delightful, the wines top class, and the ambience classy. We will return for the accommodation or a gourmet meal for sure! Thanks everyone :)

Fabulous afternoon tea and vineyard tour

Lovely place for breakfast, with views to die for. We went early so plenty of parking g available and no trouble getting a good table. Food was served quickly and service was great. We will definitely be back.

Had a wedding reception on the day we called but accommodating when we arrived to ask questions as it was in the Yorkshire Post that morning. We will be back but will check first as they are busy with weddings.

We had a voucher for afternoon tea and a tour of the vineyard. The tea was good and the tour was fabulous; entertaining and very informative. However, the vineyard itself and the grounds generally, were very neglected and in poor condition. I hope the owners plan to maintain the vineyard properly, and clean up the outdoor space.

Went to celebrate my daughter's 21st staying overnight with a large party of guests. The accommodation was fantastic and the staff couldn't do enough for us. Would recommend for a lovely pleasant break.

We stopped off to see the views and admire the vines! It was a sunny day and had drinks outside! It’s dog friendly outside too. The food looked good and would like to return to try out!!

Vineyard tour and afternoon tea. Extremely interesting talk about how the site was chosen and the process of wine making, with tasting. Fantastic views over the valley both from the vineyard and the restaurant. We'll worth a visit.

Had the pleasure of working with Tom and his team to create and enjoy the ultimate hospitality experience of my life (getting hitched) here. Their professional and efficient service made everything run smoothly. The kitchen was superb at meeting all of our requests and nothing was too difficult for them. I can’t thank them enough. Another successful Friday wedding for their team was made to look effortless by all of them. Keep it up!

Great vineyard tour. A lot of talking interesting facts about the history of the vineyard, who new GB had such unique vineyards. Well worth a visit. 👍

Lovely place, views spectacular, few issues with power on our visit, but although chaotic, didn't spoil the experience.

Lovely day out. We did arrive 15 mins late due to traffic and road works. Speaker had already started. Over all experience was very good, food and service. My only comment of the whole day was the speaker shouldn't stand in the middle to talk to everyone with his back to people or he should have a headphone speaker set. Great humour he had. Otherwise worth the trip out.

Afternoon tea and a vineyard tour which proved to be an enjoyable experience. Great views of the surrounding countryside from the terrace area. Nice selection of food although we would perhaps have swapped a couple of the cakes for savouries. Beautiful plain scones with plenty of jam and cream. The guide for the tour was extremely knowledgeable about viticulture yet put it across in a good humoured Yorkshire way. Plus. we got to taste white, rose and red wines. All in all a good afternoon out.

The most beautiful and stunning wedding venue with attentive and caring staff and delicious food. Caters for everyones needs and nothing is too much trouble. I'd get divorced to book my wedding here again!! 😆😆

Started with a tour and tasting led by Dean who was very interesting and extremely entertaining with his jokes and quips. Sampled and bought some of their rose wine. Evening meal was beautiful special service from Ash who went over and above to please but in fair all the staff here are friendly and efficient. Over.night in their accommodation and a wonderful FEB the next morning.

Had a really great day with friends. Did the vineyard tour and wine tasting which was most informative with a touch of humour. Wine was very nice especially the Rose. We were blessed with gorgeous weather and the views were amazing! Will definitely return.

Holmefirth cancelled our visit to them 2 days before we were due to go and have an overnight stay. We had had the visit booked for 3 months, so were particularly upset by the short notice, as we had arranged time off work and our animals to be looked after. They offered an alternate date but we were back at work and our pet sitter wasn't available. We chose to take a refund and spend the money elsewhere. This visit was for my husband's 50th birthday. A long overdue night away due to my cancer treatment.The reception team need to improve their telephone manner and customer service skills. The manager should have rung personally to apologise for their disgusting treatment of us.

Booked the afternoon tea along with the wine tour at 3. They told us to arrive at 1:30 for our afternoon tea which we did, they showed us to our table and told us they will bring the afternoon tea and drinks out. 20 minutes later after already asking where our drinks and food were they said it will be right out. After another 15 minutes they brought the afternoon tea, which was average. We waiting for our drinks to come as it was a hot day and we were thirsty and we again had to ask where they were, they came 10 minutes after the food. Other people around us who sat down after us received there drinks and afternoon tea 10 minutes before us… the service was horrendous. However, the wine tour made up for it, the tour guide was very knowledgeable and funny and the tour was very interesting. We went to get a bottle of Red at the restaurant that we had just tasted on the tour and they told us they didn’t sell it in the restaurant…?!? I then said I’ll have the rose instead and they said they had to grab it from the warehouse. 20 minutes later and a group of people waiting, no update so we left. Would only return for the wine tour, the service and food really let the experience down and it’s such a shame with the site being so beautiful.

Birthday treat We were treated with a voucher for our birthday. The drive up was along tight country lanes, but when we arrived the views were amazing. The restaurant overlooks the vines and across the countryside. The semicircular restaurant looks out across the glorious views. Food was delicious- good size portions too. (Unfortunately the waiter tipped a glass of red wine over himself, onto the table and into the chair next to me. Just an accident - but he disappeared leaving me and my husband to mop up the mess with serviettes and tissues. Think his first job should have been to deal with the customer first)

Lovely afternoon at Holmfirth Vineyard, yes, there really is one! Stunning location. Afternoon tea, wine tour and tasting. Staff in restaurant very helpful and accommodating. Excellent afternoon tea. Tour guide, Dean, was very down to earth and explained everything, injected with lots of humour, really well. Would definitely recommend. A very late 70th celebration for my lovely hubby.

The vineyard was the first wedding venue we looked at & we knew it was the one. The communication from the venue was second to none in the lead up to the big day. Tom & his team were amazing on the day and so accommodating. We provided all of our own venue decoration and the staff were amazing at setting this all up for us, just as we’d imagined. Our guests loved the day too and agreed the service was amazing.Thank you for helping make our day as perfect as ever, we will definitely be re-visiting for our future anniversary’s! Also a thank you to their DJ Paul who made the evening reception so enjoyable 😊

Absolutely stunning 😍 Attended a wedding and stayed over night The venue was beautiful and the views absolutely incredible. Inside its really lovely with a wrap around conservatory overlooking the amazing views. The staff were all so good. The food was beautiful. The accommodation was also amazing, just a few mins away from the main venue. Lovely apartments. I would 100% recommend! I just need to find out if me partner and dog and book in for a weekend as we want to go back now !

We received a voucher for a wine tour and lunch: it turned out to be a great present! The tour was both informative and funny (Dean was a great tour guide!) Lunch was delicious. Great views over the vineyard/valley. Friendly and efficient service, and an incredibly tasty burger...it was one of the best burgers I have had in ages! I would highly recommend both the tour and the restaurant for anyone looking to fill half a day in West Yorkshire.

Fortunately the weather was kind to us, and we were able to sit outside. Very good service in an outstanding location above Holmfirth. I will certainly visit again soon.

What a fabulous place ! Didn’t know what to expect but we had a lovely lunch with their own wine over a couple of hours. The view of the vineyard and the wider scenery from the semi circular restaurant was beautiful. Lunch was followed by a really interesting, educational and funny tour. Got a taxi up there and walked back down into Holmfirth itself.

We went to the vineyard yesterday - which was a present from work colleagues / and had an excellent hours in the sunshine. Dean the guide was really informative, knowledgeable about the wine making process and best of all …funny. The wine tasting was good and the food and service in the restaurant was extremely good. We had fish and chips …huge portions that we couldn’t eat - but we did manage a pudding - crème brûlée and Eton message - both delicious. Would highly recommend 😃

Service was poor we were sat for over half an hour before we got a drink. Some of our party got individual tea pots others a large communal tea pot. 1 pot of cold milk was served to share between 16 people. The afternoon tea was not good value. The sausage roll or pork pie (not identifiable) was cut so thin you could almost see through it. 4 sweets were served 3 of which were bite size. There are beautiful views - not that we could see them as we were sat away from all windows near the toilets and the atmosphere was mostly staff dropping dishes and cutlery.

The young man who did the talk telling us about the history of the vineyard was very good and very informative

Exciting drive to the vineyard with the narrow lanes & hairpin bends but the lovely views make it worthwhile. Very interesting & humorous talk about the vineyard before sampling 3 of the wines, was looking forward to having a walk around the vineyard but the torrential rain put us off slightly. We will certainly be calling again ( but when the sun is shining ) 🌞

We had a vineyard tour and lunch package, which we thoroughly enjoyed. The guide, Dean, was very entertaining and very knowledgable….I learnt a lot, enjoyed the wine tasting …but was disappointed that they had none to sell until the following day - a reason to return. The lunch was lovely and all the staff at the venue were very friendly and helpful. My only negative was that they are very hard to contact; I tried several emails and phone calls before finally getting an email reply.

Visited recently for afternoon tea & vineyard tour. Surroundings are absolutely beautiful, lovely views. The food was delicious & the tour was informative & Nigel was the perfect host (very funny). Wine tasting was lovely, particularly enjoyed the Rosè. The only let down for us was the staff in the restaurant, who seemed easily distracted, disorganised & not attentive enough. We waited half an hour for our drinks to arrive, which came after the food. This did have an effect on the atmosphere as we saw people leave after waiting too long. Would be great if this could improve because the place is a gem!

Lovely afternoon tea and visit.

Only went here for a wedding and liked what I saw fantastic views food was good the only thing letting them down was the price of the drinks witch wouldn’t have been so bad but they didn’t even have the proper glasses for the lager so it was served flat.

Food ok service wasn't very good fed up of staff calling people GUYS don't think my wife is a guy they put loads of salt on fries and burger very salty staff were not bothered won't be going back

We decided to do the tour but when we found out there was accommodation we made a (friday/saturday) of it with an overnight stay. We had an evening meal and breakfast. From start to finish we ( 4 mature ladies ) found the staff to be friendly, the accommodation more than adequate and the food amazing. The weather was good which added to the ambiance. Dean our tour guide was funny and informative and the taxi between the vineyard and the accommodation is a nice touch ( it's a steep hill .....when they say sensible shoes they mean it !) Thoroughly enjoyed our experience.

Visited for Vineyard tour, wine tasting and afternoon tea. Tour guide was knowledgeable and had a good sense of humour (Dean) The wines I tried were dry, fruity and mellow. The afternoon tea was delicious and well presented. We were seated outside which gave us great views. All staff were polite and helpful.

Went for the vineyard tour with lunch. We all enjoyed it very much. Sat outside for our lunch with fantastic views.

First time visit.fantastic views and the best beer batter iv ever had.but please do something about the tables on the outer patio.the chairs are far to low so ended up eating in the conservatory which was very hot.other people also followed us in with the same opinion

Wine tours, dining with excellent views, wedding venue. Did the wine tasting tour which was OK, interesting to hear the history of the vineyard and English wines. As only a small vineyard just three wines to sample so the overall experience was just about an hour. Our weekday group was about 12 people, weekend tours can be very large. Had a very good lunch, with very good portion sizes. Skip the full English if your planning lunch here. Lovely location and restaurant positioned well with large glass windows to enjoy the view. We'll worth a visit. But huge disappointment that there was none of the vineyards wine available to buy.

I don't normally review unless something is really bad or really good...Well,this was the latter! Flawless...fabulous wine tasting experience (gift) and the afternoon tea..oh my goodness.. fresh ,tasty and moreish! The service was excellent(red haired guy fabulous) and I would highly recommend anyone to visit here..even just for an afternoon drink.

First visit at this Holme Valley vineyard, in the heart of the West Yorkshire hills, as we had been gifted afternoon tea vouchers by friends. Unsure as to what to expect, we booked for a sunny Saturday afternoon. It was extremely busy as it doubles as venue for special functions such as weddings and other occasions. The car park is limited and as it was a busy time we were unable to use it and ended up driving further out along a narrow hilly country lane until we found a suitable lay-by to park and walk to the vineyard restaurant. We were offered the option of an afternoon tea with Prosecco wine. Oddly enough we weren’t offered the option for one of their own wines!! When the order arrived, it all arrived together, the food with a pot of tea for two and the Prosecco wine. I regard this as a fundamental amateurish gastro service. How can staff not realise that you just don’t serve cold Prosecco at the same time as tea with sandwiches and cakes? Admittedly the food was good but customer service and attention to detail was lacking. You need to be more discerning and customer aware Holmfirth Vineyard. When you are charging in excess of £40 for afternoon tea, customers should expect better.

Very good tour, would recommend it to anyone. Lunch afterwards was superb and massive.

Held a wedding reception at Holmfirth Vineyard on Thursday. What can I say but exceptional. Ash looked after us impeccably from start to finish and always with a smile on his face. He certainly went above and beyond and is a real credit to the Vineyard, thank you so much Ash for making it the perfect day. Food, presentation and hospitality all first class.

The wine tasting was a blast. The young man who gave the talk was very knowledgeable, really good and friendly. We booked a room which was really nice and clean, a very good size, everything you needed was there, home from home. We also had our meal there and, wow, it was fantastic. I had the braised beef, sooooo tender, hubby had the fish, complements to the chef. Would definitely recommend.

Afternoon tea set for 2 is very worth for a nice lunch meal with stunning view of the valley.

Had a trip with work and our guide Dean was very informative and funny. Weather wasn't great but we did what we could. Need to book before hand as it dies get quite busy. Not bad wines either.

What an absolute shocker of an experience. Myself and my Wife were really looking forward to a lovely trip out to the vineyard after my sister in law bought us a vineyard voucher for afternoon tea for two. First of all, let me tell you that trying to book this visit, is tantamount to impossible!! We called up for 3 consecutive days and nobody answers the phone. I left 2 voice messages, which nobody returned. I then decided to try them by email, which unsurprisingly was ignored too. I was beginning to think maybe the place had closed down, when I decided to try one last time. This time I got through, but unfortunately to a rather unsympathetic, unhelpful lady, who was extremely short with me. I was almost put off going altogether but my wife was really looking forward to it, so we booked in for the following week. When we arrived we were very pleasantly surprised as the views are stunning, however the positives start and stop there. We were met at the entrance by an older lady with blonde hair, who quite possibly was the rudest individual I've ever met in my life! I tried to make conversation and be a little jovial, which was just met by a glare. She asked for our voucher which she then studied for a few minutes and mumbled something and walked off. We wasn't sure whether we were supposed to, but we followed her and she sat us at a table without saying a word, placed a sign down on the table and stormed off. There was a young lady clearing the table next to us and as it's been some years since I've been out for an afternoon tea, I enquired to her what it consisted off. Without making eye contact with us she said "sandwiches and cakes" and scuttled off. Yes thank you, that I realised! I was hoping to find out which types of cakes etc! By now I'm starting to think what on earth is wrong with these people?! The afternoon tea eventually came and it was OK, that's all I can say on that matter. There was absolutely no atmosphere in there and myself and my wife both just wanted to leave ASAP. Every member of staff we came across looked utterly sour faced and we're unprofessional. We encountered the same blonde woman by the bar as we were leaving and it seems she's as nasty to the other staff as she is to the customers! The whole experience was nightmarish and quite frankly bizarre. If you're thinking of going, do yourself a favour and book ANYWHERE else!

Did the vineyard tour, wine tasting and then afternoon tea. All excellent. The views alone were incredible, well informed tour guide mixing in humour and lots of knowledge. 3 different wines tasted grown in the estate then back on for a lovely and well prepared afternoon tea.

Amazing place , great food , stunning views and friendly staff. I only docked a star because they were so busy it affected the service timing . But well worth visiting. Make sure you book .

Went for afternoon sparkle tea and vineyard tour. Great food, beautiful location. The tour is very interesting and fun, and wine tasting was great, and unpretentious. I bought a bottle of the 'session wine', my friends got the 'breakfast wine'.

Tour and afternoon tea. Thoroughly enjoyed everything, great place, very interesting, super friendly staff. You're made to feel at home, relax and enjoy your time there. A must experience.
