Overall great. Had room overlooking the airport. ALWAYS phone the hotel directly to book, any other way you get put through to abroad who mess up your booking or don't book you in

Restaurant staff not helpful at all. I thought at Holiday Inn they have 4 hrs windows for breakfast at airports hotels. They only have 3 hrs. We woke up late and were 10 mins late (last table at 9³⁰, we arrived at 9⁴⁰) they still had 3 tables with customers having breakfast but they already put all the food away. And they didn't even offer a slice of ham. I was very disappointed. They know nothing about customer service and of course they don't care, it's not their business just a job. Anyway , you really should not take off the food when you have customers in the restaurant. For me this is unacceptable.

Surprised by how good it was. There is a superb view from the bar and restaurant over the airport apron and runways It is well worth staying here. Upon checkout, you're asked for a score from one to ten. If you say ten this means the only direction they can go is down. I scored 9, which throws them, but at least they think they have to try harder.

Excellent hotel, with friendly staff and clean rooms. The restaurant faces the airport and you can see planes takeoff as you eat. They also have pet friendly rooms One piece of advice book early as the prices tend to go up. Highly recommend it

Arrived 5/10 for a holiday in Southend 6 days, so staying here really quiet indeed no sound of airplanes. We have membership so the cost of my stay night is cheaper than what I had to pay for the breakfast for 3 people. Meals are expensive, maybe because there was 3 of us. My first dinner wasn't great but breakfast is ok, staff friendly, room ok The area has a small shopping centre close and a MacDonald cross the road from the hotel, good price. It was really busy here Saturday, expect it every weekend. It's about a hour from London by train and 2 stops away to Southend from the hotel or by bus which will take you longer. Visit again one day.

Had 2 nights there, my daughter was getting married close to the hotel, Staff looked after all of the guests, and the rooms were lovely and clean , breakfast and evening meal was excellent, would definitely recommend it to anyone. Thank you to all the staff that made our stay very comfortable 😊

Sadly, it was not a happy visit. This was a treat for milestone birthday Started off with having to pay £10 per night to park but did get a voucher for a complimentary drink as was my birthday Planned to have a meal in the rooftop restaurant The room was clean, no faults at all However, we ordered some nibbles to have whilst drinking in the bar Chips onions rings hallomi fries, and oh my goodness chips were 3 large chip's the a handful of scrappy bits that were obviously reheated in fryer Onion rings were fried, almost black, and as for hallomi frie, I have never tasted anything like it is absolutely awful. I'm not actually sure it was ? the cheapest of some cheese substitute, I guess Hence, we never even bothered with the restaurant at all Very disappointed

Lovely hotel. Only ate in the 1935 restaurant but the food was really tasty and the service was brilliant. Great view of the run way too
