First time visiting this little gem..The service was friendly. Courses arrived quickly and hot and very tasty. Intimate atmosphere … would highly recommend this restaurant.. so glad we found it .. will definitely be back for more

We’ve eaten here numerous times and always had a great experience! delicious food and friendly helpful service! Nice atmosphere (not too noisy) Very reasonable prices as well! We were the last table left in the restaurant at the end of the night but we were not rushed out the door.. totally recommend visiting here! Mediocre. Chicken curry tasted almost nothing, and chicken ball and sauce was nothing to write home about. Prawn Foo Young was pretty good though.

We went again tonight August 24 it was superb they were fully booked but someone had cancelled lucky for us! Great price and authentic food.

Hoi Sum offer the best Chinese food around. It's worth travelling for. Tonight we had crispy aromatic duck, was perfectly crispy, and delicious. Followed by sizzling fillet steak with spring onion and ginger and Singapore Vermicelli. Hoi Sum were absolutely super again.

Amazing food, really friendly helpfull staff helped me get out of the taxi cant thank them enough , at very reasonable prices, best food in town by far, plus restaurant itself is beautiful. Next time we go my son wants to come with

We went to Hoi Sum for dinner on Saturday night. And to be fair we have been going there for many years and it is about time a review is written on their food, service and how lovely this place is. My husband and I had a long day travelling on Saturday and the hot and sour soup were such a good soup to have when you feel and bit tired and cold. It warmed us up immediately. The soup was so delicious, I have it most of the time when I go there. The Pak Choi with garlic is always a must and the Kung Po chicken was very good. I love their Singapore vermicelli so much I can probably have it every day. If you like fish, the drunken fish on the menu is a lovely choice. The staff is always friendly. King and his team work hard looking after all the customers rain or shine. There were 3 birthdays that evening and each one King brought out cakes with candles on and the whole restaurant was singing happy birthday. What a lovely way to celebrate birthdays. Hoisum only opens Wednesday to Saturday so I suggest booking ahead.

We’ve only eaten here 3/4 times and every time it’s been amazing 🙏 - however, last night was properly the best Chinese we’ve ever had! Great food and service, friendly and nothing was an issue. The food was perfectly cooked, fresh, not fatty or have at all. We totally order to much, and ate ALOT, and the whole bill for 4 of us was £140 🙏 Great value for money. 💰

A little gem in Eastbourne. We didn’t book but arrived and they managed to fit us in even though pretty much fully booked. I’m glad they did, the food was top notch. Great atmosphere and reasonable price. Will definitely go again

Best Chinese food I’ve had in 20 years. The food was good quality and delicious. The staff were lovely, my little girl forgot her bag and the owner ran after us for two streets to give it back. Will definitely go here again.

It’s a restaurant run by Hong Kong people, and the waiters are all Hong Kong people. The food is the same as in Hong Kong. It’s worth a visit for Hong Kong people abroad.

Absolutely fabulous.. first time here a real hidden gem. We had a table of 7, ordered a range of starters, mains & wine and were stunned to pay £35 a head including tip for what was such a generous feast we all ended up taking some extra food home! Super tasty food, chow mein and Korean chicken was delicious and very friendly staff. Loved it.

Great little Chinese restaurant in central Eastbourne. Food is clear of MSG and service is quick and cheerful. Great value with fixed price lunch menu. Best to book as very popular, especially at weekends.

Recommend!! Lovely family owned restaurant and incredibly friendly! The food was quite good for a very very reasonable price and the wantons are specially made! Deep fried squid and Spring Rolls were great appetizers as well! The atmosphere is quite nice and friendly and the washroom is very clean.

What a little gem of a Chinese restaurant. The staff/owners are absolutely lovely, very friendly and welcoming, they don't rush you at all. I went today with some friends for lunch, their 3 course deal at £9.90 is extensive and outstanding value with large portions and tasty, good quality ingredients. Their drinks are also good value. I have been 3 or 4 times now and the quality and service is consistently good. I can't recommend this place enough, try it and support a great local business.

This was our 3rd time visiting Eastbourne and it was a special time for my partner's birthday and what a fantastic time we had this was the Restaurant we were hoping to find the food is out of this world amazing taste quality and quantity the staff are great so friendly and welcoming and humerus definitely coming back and would highly recommend to anyone visiting the area it's a must go to Restaurant thanks a million to everyone at Hoisum and see you soon Noel+Ado

Just moved to the area and on the lookout for new bars and restaurants. Decided to try this hidden gem! And what a find. A Thursday evening in December was quite busy but there was a table free. Service was efficient and very friendly. Great ambience. And the food was really great! And all for a reasonable price. A really enjoyable meal. We will be back!

A place I've been to on many occasions over the years It was my first visit for a long time and I found it as good as ever, very helpful staff, quick service and great food

Finally a good chinese restaurant and take away in Eastbourne. I have lived in London for 20 years, tried plenty of international authentic and less authentic diverse types of cusine.. a regular in Chinatown... and have just recently moved to Eastbourne just to be disappointed by the lack of general interest in original foreigns flavours... First time going there for take away. I ordered some pork ribs in sweet fruit sauce which was juicy and super yummy, beef in black beans sauce which was full of flavour and fresh, and some fried rice. Well... i will go back again for sure! Just minutes away from the train station, with a friendly atmosfere, the owner greeted me with a smile and also helped me chose my order as i had a few questions. Will go back! And i might dine in as well 😄

Booked a week ago at Watford for this weekend when we was down last time we tried to eat here and it was fully booked so the wait was well worth it the food the service was top notched this will be our go to Chinese when we visit here from now on very friendly place and warm atmosphere

We had my sons 18th birthday meal at Hoisum on the 8th September 2022. From the moment I booked the staff were lovely and helpful. They allowed me to take in balloons and even put up photos of my son to celebrate (ok embarras him on his special day). The food was amazing, there were 14 of us and the food all came at the same time. They allowed us to bring our own cake and the manager brought it out at the end and joined in singing happy birthday. He gave my son a complimentary sambuca to celebrate being able to legally drink and my son will always remember this. They were really understanding when some people couldn't come due to covid and other commitments. Everyone in the party was very impressed by the food and the care from the staff. We will definitely be back. Thank you Hoisum.

We Love going to Hoisum for Lunch it's extremely good value and really delicious food. It's down a very small road near the station. It's worth making the effort to find it. They don't open every day so check the website for opening hours. Please like this review of its helpful 👍🏼

The food is delicious I can’t fault it and I am extremely fussy . We were looked after very well the staff are helpful and friendly and adjusted a couple of things we ordered to suit our needs. Exceptionally clean and lovely place to eat I will be returning without a doubt. Also very reasonably priced.

Food took over 40 minutes from order, drinks had run out by the time food was delivered, food was nice but not very hot. We were not even asked how the food was, it is a shame because I went here a couple of years ago and raved about the place.

Lunch is back ON I think we were first in. We love lunch there it’s delicious. Great value for money can’t recommend them enough. We booked for next week.
