Very pleasant location, the place was busy but not noisy . Great night's sleep, breakfast is excellent overall it's worth going out of your way a little too visit and stay over.

very friendly run hotel slit mix up on arrival put very helpful . bed was very comfortable the grounds a very lovely to sit outside . and the food is really lovely home cooked and the breakfast freshly cooked breakfast will definitely be staying again

Didn't sleep well as only a double size bed. Could not fault the breakfast or service. Very dated hotel and at the end of a very potholed road which was not very car friendly.

Excellent place, good food and drinks. Superb service. Well laid out bedroom. It's a bit out of the way, but ok with Sat Nav

Came for dinner for the first time in a while. I had forgotten how lovely the food is, and how generous the portions. The chips were homemade and delicious, gammon cooked to perfection and the desserts, well suffice it to say my treacle sponge would have fed four people and it was a portion for one! I may need to run a marathon to burn the calories now but boy it was worth it. Most certainly won't be leaving coming back so long next time. Thanks for the great service team! Update March 25: Another amazingly easy dinner today. Restaurant is clean, staff are friendly and efficient. I cannot fault the overall experience and quality of food. Already looking forward to returning.

Just dropped in for a meal so can't comment on rooms. Great selection of dishes on offer reasonably priced, service spot on, beautiful pub well kept. Would certainly go again and recommend.

I stayed here as I was working locally. The room was very comfortable and nice and warm given it was -4 outside. The staff were very welcoming. Breakfasts were home cooked everything and plentiful. Evening meals in the bar were wholesome and hearty. I struggled and couldn't finish my meals, and I have a hearty appetite. I was so happy to stay here, that I have booked again and will be a regular customer in the future. Plenty of parking. Disabled access, and from what I could see, there is an outdoor area next to a babbling Brook that runs past the property. It is right down a lane so it it nice and quiet.

We went for lunch with family, fantastic staff amazing fresh homemade cooking. Steak, pies, roast dinners and very large puddings everything is fresh and served hot. We will definitely be returning

Oh dear! I was so so looking forward to this meal as I was told it was amazing and I really do not like posting negative reviews but oh my days. Firstly the pub is really lovely and welcoming and the atmosphere is so relaxing but unfortunately that’s where it ends. If you are going to serve basic food on basic small plates then please state this on the menu. YES it was home cooked and YES it’s not a bistro and YES it’s not Wetherspoons(although the food did come out after only ten minutes of ordering. Red flag 🚩) but WOW!! Please review what you serve and how you serve it and I’m sure you would be a 5 ⭐️

Beautiful surroundings, rooms comfy, food was good, spent the weekend with family and friends, I would definitely stay there again

Just had a brilliant Carvery with my in-laws for Father's day. Very tasty and great value. The carvery was excellent, though the veggie option for my wife wasn't great.

Sometimes food is fantastic. We ordered Ghoulish off special menu chips rice spot o. Ghoulish was watery .pudding was crumble and lacked taste .

Location was ideal for our visit to Nottingham. The Hog's Head Hotel is tricky to find but the secret is to keep going, even though you might think it's a dead end. Plenty of parking, plenty of space around the pub /hotel. All facilities are available including breakfast or evening meal. Some of the tables at breakfast were overly small, making it a little difficult to position players and cutlery. The rooms and decor are maybe a little " tired" but all staff were very welcoming and hospitable.

Traditional pub lounge which is fine, but with a kind of dated cafe looking dining room; where everyone of a certain age goes for Sunday lunch

Restaurant is a little on a shabby side and in need of an update/refresh but the service was outstanding and very well organized. Was a busy Sunday carvery we went for and food was hot and extremely tasty. Staff were very helpful and welcoming. I’d definitely recommend if you like a traditional, no frills family friendly venue. Lovely peaceful location and a safe grass play area for kids and toddlers. Also an outdoor terrace. Well-behaved dogs welcome too.

A large group of us visited for a meal, and a few drinks! It’s a nice little place out of the way. The staff are super friendly. The food we ordered was delicious. Everything from steaks, gammon, fish and chips to roast dinners all cooked perfectly.

Lovely modern rooms in a very quiet area, the restraunt food is absolutely wonderful, you can travel far and wide and you wont find such good traditional British home cooked food at these prices. The Lamb and mint pie is a family favourite of ours, and a rare treat to find 4 different lamb dishes available on the menu. Highly recommended overall. Andy and team well done a pillar of the community.
