I have stayed at the Stone Manor on many occasions predominantly because I have a large breed dog and the hotel is dog-friendly. This morning the hotel have contacted me to let me know they are charging me £50 because my dog allegedly urinated on a chair in the hotel room. I have made it quite clear that my dog is house trained, is not allowed on the furniture (and even if she was, she is far too big to be able to sit on the chair in question!). I also informed the reception that I sat on the chair on leaving the shower so the chair was likely damp because of this. They have put 2+2 together and come up with 5 simply because there was a dog in the room and have promptly charged me £50 for a damp chair. I am not concerned about the £50, but am very annoyed at being charged for something we didn't do. Beware!!. If you take your dog with you, be prepared to be charged for anything that could be misconstrued as pet-related damage. The hotel has attempted to show me alleged photographic 'evidence' that clearly shows a simple area of liquid on the cushion. It does not show evidence of urine etc. Still appalled and not returning!

Didn’t stay overnight as was there for a funeral wake. Pricey bar (a pint of lager and a pint of orange juice and lemonade £12.50). Polite service, but unreasonably expensive.

Stayed here as it was our son's wedding reception venue. We received a friendly welcome and because of arrangements we went to our first room which was excellent. We had to transfer rooms to one that had come as part of the reception package and a transfer of luggage was arranged. The second room was of higher quality with a massive bathroom and was very comfortable. However there was a smell of drains in the morning which the hotel was quick to sort out. The breakfasts were lovely and the food at the reception was superb. The hotel sits in well kept large grounds in open countryside and was very quiet. Perhaps the only downside was the price of a pint.

Had a great evening for a friend's 40th Birthday party. the hotel has a great atmosphere, great food and most crucially, great service. The staff were wonderful at all times. If there is any criticism, then it'll be the breakfast, the orange juice was off and the pastries were not great but this is a minor quibble to be honest. Otherwise a great stay and considering a Christmas dinner as well.

A 60th birthday surprise from my sister and what a lovely ‘afternoon tea in the woods’. Nothing was too much trouble, food was lovely, catering for vegetarian, food allergies and also taking time to include the two dogs with us, service was perfect. I am only sorry I didn’t get the name of the gentleman waiting on us ( he did say his birthday is 26th June so hopefully you will know who he is 😊), would definitely recommend and hope to return very soon. Thank you so much. Debbie

My second stay. An outstanding country retreat hotel. Historic building set in gorgeous expansive gardens with attractive outside terrace. All the staff I dealt with were chatty, friendly and professional. Lovely room overlooking the gardens. Eggs Benedict breakfast was superb. Highly recommended.

We had our wedding at Hogarth's Stone Manor and from the initial wedding open day to our wedding day the team that worked with us were great. No question was too much for them and they tried to cater to our every need. There was a single little hiccup but the team sorted it so quickly we didn't have to worry about anything and we both had the most amazing time. Our guests were all complimenting us on our venue choice and everyone enjoyed the food and their rooms. We had our wedding around Christmas time and the hotel itself looked lovely and rustic. The reception room was dressed beautifully too. The whole process was stress free and the team were great at reassuring us along the way. The hideaway is great for close relatives too and it was nice that we could all disappear up there at the end of the day. Thank you Sam and the team for a perfect day!

A lovely night away linked to a trip on the Severn Valley Railway. From check in we were met with pleasant and professional service from all sides. The grounds of the hotel are a lovely place to walk around and relax. It worked perfectly for us with a dog and a baby in arms, as a walk to get baby to sleep and give the dog a safe place to roam and sniff!

Good pub with a decent range of drinks. For real ale drinkers there is Bathams Best and a usually something from Wye Valley - typically HPA. Plenty of lager and Modri. Also a pool table. Good for watching football, with several TV screens, and for a pre or post match drink. It's under the main stand of Harriers FC and is the only pub I know which has a door with a sign "players and coaching staff only".

Food was tasty, but sadly when i ordered a ham salad sandwich. I thought it would come in a t-cake like majority of cafés ive dined in.. But other than the bread, it was tasty. Fast service & clean.
