The full breakfast came out with the bacon cold, as were the fried eggs which were also hard. The butter in its packaging had obviously been left on the plate under the heat lamps and had liquified. My wife's crushed avacado and egg came out about 10 minutes later, just as I was finishing my breakfast. The eggs were again cold and hard. She took it back and as we didnt want to wait for it to be recooked, we got a refund for hers and left. Very disapointing and wont go back!

We have been using Hoebridge golf club cafe for a number of years and in general it has always been good; however this time was very disappointing. A particular favourite is the three egg omelette and chips but this time it seemed to be very small with about half the number of chips compared to previous visits. The other dish we had was good but a small portion size. Service was slow, and it looked our food was waiting at the kitchen hatch for a while before anyone brought it over. So it will be a while before we try this cafe again.

A fish finger sandwich, a steak sandwich and a ham and cheese toasted sandwich, all with chips. Shouldn’t be difficult but we can safely say it was the worst food I have ever eaten anywhere in my entire life. Saturday lunchtime on 10th September. Do yourselves a favour and pop to the supermarket for sandwiches before your golf!. The tables were sticky to the touch too by the way. Even my old Student Union was better cared for. Abysmal

Myself and partner went to visit Hoebidge today wanting to have a relaxing day hitting golf shots on the range with food and drinks before and after hitting golf balls. In the bar/restuarant area we asked for service but the staff continually talked about us having to use the app to order but they stood at our table for ages to argue the pros n cons of using the app instead of taking our order. What has happened to customer service??... Not a great experience...

Whilst visiting the area we decided to try the local golf club. After playing what was a picturesque course with admittedly poor condition Sandy greens due to course maintenance (which had not been stated at the time of online booking. After finishing our round, we immediately hot footed it to the bar & grill. Upon arriving we asked if the kitchen was still open. Unfortunately we were told that the kitchen had just closed. It was 7:55pm. There was visibly still food orders being placed with other members of staff???? Then when we asked at the bar to order our beers, we were told that it was table service only. So we went and sat outside… when no one looked like coming to serve us, we approached the bar again to ask who would be serving us only to be told that table service was only available for the inside part of the bar and we had to download an app to be served outside!? Whilst asking the bar staff this, another golfer ordered a beer at the bar??? Thought it was table service only? One rule for one… When we repositioned ourselves inside to get table service we were immediately served. Hallelujah. We then proceeded to order up there remaining sausage rolls that were on display in their deli counter. One of us ordered their rolls hot!! Lo and behold ALL the sausage rolls were served cold… on the plus side the table waitress was very nice…

I’ll keep this short and sweet. DO NOT get the chicken and “crispy” bacon wrap. The bacon is not crispy AT ALL in any way (see picture) and is very very salty. Was horrible. I was really looking forward to this after a good round of golf and am bitterly disappointed!

Been coming here for a couple of years , mainly with my elderly folks who are generally easily pleased. I have been underwhelmed with the fayre up until today . The fish gougons were superb with two homemade dips , salsa and tartare . The onion rings ok . The Thai fish cake somewhat tasting like a sumami crab stick . The mains wer3 excellent , smoked h@ddock delicious on crushed spuds with spinach a gorgeous orange yolked poached egg on top with a mild mustard sauce . A flatiron steak cooked as requested with good chips , and porchetta with good accompanying veg . Apparently the new menu is overseen by the new head chef Richie . More power to his saucepans ....

I meet a group of friends here regularly for lunch. Generally speaking it is fine, nice bright cafe with a good menu and good service. Yesterday I had the three egg omelette with mushrooms and cheese, which came with lovely chunky chips and a side salad, it was hot and delicious, a good serving. Some friends had soup, which came with rather small rolls. This is a popular cafe with plenty of background noise of people chatting; just recently there is also loud 'music' playing, frankly just a racket, it's quite unnecessary. Note to the manager - we don't need this, we just want to chat to our friends.

It was nice to see more variety of homemade cakes at our most recent visit. I had the carrot cake which was delicious (also huge!!) and my friend had the lemon drizzle which she also thoroughly enjoyed! The service could be slightly more friendly though and I couldn’t help but be distracted by a member of staff repeatedly throwing what I can imagine is glass bottles very loudly into a bin. Doesn’t make for a nice atmosphere but all in all a nice visit and look forward to our next coffee & cake!!

Eaten here a few times and always been delighted with the food and the warm greeting offered. I have no idea what has happened! The staff seem to be busy laughing and 'chatting' among them selves so unfortunately it would appear they are exhausted when it comes to serving the customers. Dead pan faces no smiles or interjecting with those ordering their meals. One chap just 'drunk' I assume water from a pint glass and seemed so fazed not sure how he managed to stay upright. Albeit, the food which is not as good as it has been in the past, was mediocre, good value for money. Please make our visits more welcoming smiles are good for the soul.

Second visit as the first was great but this time really poor. Non existent customer service and poor quality food this time around. Son went home hungry due to inedible omelette and I had a burnt lasagne which was so dry I had to add ketchup. The only redeeming part was the great chips. No check back. Ignored me when I mentioned how burnt the lasagne was. Also heard the kitchen tell the bar staff no more food and they made sure they ordered theirs before telling the people waiting at the bar with a menu that it was closed. Then when the customers queried the closing time...the Barman looked at his watch and gave that time of 18.58. Really poor. Well come back again for the golf but not for anymore food.

The pricing for all the dishes seems reasonable and the food is always well presented, but the service was poor. Seven friends have a meal twice a year so we decided to have a meal at Hoebridge golf course from the new menu (which appears more expensive). We ordered the meals, 5 meals arrived together but as the last two did not arrive I had to ask where they were.I was told it will just be a minute. When the other two meals arrived 15 minutes later the other five had finished their meals, so the service is very poor.

we have been eating at the Hoe Bridge (we are no golfers) for about 5 years always at lunch-time, ever since some friends told us about the reasonably priced omelettes. The pricing for all the dishes seems reasonable and the food is always well presented and adequate for the price; in particular the Sunday carvery offers a good selection of meat and the vegetables are always varied and interesting and the amounts offered are generous. The rest of the menu is fairly straightforward but always well prepared. The restaurant area is a bit "smarter".(e.g tablecloths and waiter service) than the bar area which is usually very cheerful and often jolly with children's presence. There is a good terrace for sunny days. The staff are without fault - cheerful, efficient and good-natured. This clearly isn't the Ritz, but it doesn't pretend to be, doesn't charge stupid prices and is thoroughly good-natured, and it's "vaut la visite" without question.

Whoever cooks the food here cannot cook a slim piece of chicken through. To serve raw chicken is a disaster and especially when you have children with you. I wasn't offered a full refund, just given the money back for my chicken that looked like it hadn't even touched the grill. The fear their food set up isn't good and if a chef doesn't cook or even check chicken if it's cooked it's best to stay away, especially when they can't handle a busy business.

The food and its presentation was, at best, on the level of School Dinners! The Lasagne was dry, had almost no meat and no sauce at all.The ‘Thai Green Curry’ had almost no chicken and way too much green chilli. The salad was badly cut up into huge chunks and poorly presented. The cheese had been cut up into portions for so long that the edges were very dry. Each table of 10 had one nasty small plastic jug of water – at room temperature – not even enough for a small glass each and it was never refilled. Many used plates were not cleared from the table for well over an hour.Clearly there were not enough staff or at least not enough actually doing any work.

Despite being rammed with a good family buzz - golfers seemed well out numbered - because of half term and a crowded meeting of some association or other the various staff were doing a very commendable job of keeping on top of serving customers and making sure the cafe bar and grill room was clean and tidy. The room although well lit with functional furniture was a touch utilitarian, more suited to serving golfers (no surprise there) than those looking for the comfort and a touch more character such as that offered by a pub.Nevertheless a comprehensive range of drinks, good tasty food, freshly prepared and served with care is the prerequisite of a cafe bar and grill and it didn't disappoint. Most prices are at the top of the expected range.

We decided to eat here after playing on pirate island, I ordered the cheese burger which was lovely but just a bit too greasy, the chips looked like they had been fried in fryers that needed the oil changed, we also ordered garlic bread, without cheese, and another portion of chips, once again the same with the chips. But the garlic bread came out with cheese on. My other half who didn't want to cause a fuss said that it was fine, but in the end couldn't eat it anyway, as there was way too much cheese on it that it made the bread very soggy, greasy and got cold very quickly, you couldn't even taste the garlic on it. We were going to have a desert but decided to buy some ice cream on the way home instead. We have said we would be back to play on pirate island again but we would have 2nd thoughts about eating here, but as i have worked in hospitality all my life, i do believe in giving places at least 3 visits, as you cant always judge something like a restaurant on one visit. Kids meal came with ice cream but as they are allergic, I asked them if they can have something else. They replaced the ice cream with a small bowl of fruits. Great service! The waiter was very friendly too. The food was not out of this world but it appears that the food is freshly prepared. They do not look or tasted like microwaved food. Certainly higher quality than Harvester. The menu did not have anything fancy. It was a very standard pub food. The presentation of food was not bad. The price is not expensive but not cheap either. I had a pint of ale and it was £3.75. A bit more expensive than the pubs in Woking. They only had one type of ale. Others were lager...The scenery from the restaurant is unfortunate. You cannot see much of the golf course. It is certainly not a special place but after around of golf, this place is a very convenient place to have lunch. The food is good enough for its price. I would go back again but you don't want to go there just for food. It is not that kind of restaurant in my opinion. Lastly, It is really unfortunate that the scenery is poor as the scenery for the golf course if spectacular in some place.

Across the road from the golf course , where the café/grill is , stands the school which I used to attend many moons ago . Then it was called St. Michael's and it has now morphed into Hoe Bridge school having merged with Allen House . It bears little resemblance to the school I enjoyed back in the 60s . So back across the road then to the golf course and café/grill which used to be home to herds of cows being part of the Guinness farm estate - their milk was delicious . The café occupies a prime spot atop of the hill and is part of the clubhouse/shop complex .Our party of 4 ( my folks and my wife ) came for a late lunch , the dining area was approximately half full with a mixture of diners , some having lunch , some a snack and some just a drink - there is a large area outside should the weather warrant it , however smokers seemed to be shunned into a corner with no provision should it rain .The menu is quite interesting and varied .We had a round of drinks to startSurprisingly my dad had the full English breakfast - I don't think he's ever had one of these !My wife had a 3-egg omelette and chips ( far too well cooked for my taste )My mum had two starters , the first was pate , fairly small portion and then thai crab cakes . £ of these graced the plate and they were only just bigger than marbles and overcooked .I chose the linguine carbonara which was tasty although instead of parmesan grated on top it appeared to be cheddar .I also had a few onion rings as a side .Didn't see bill as dad paid it however the menu is on-line and prices are about right for a cafe The waitress who served us was jolly and service was efficient and trouble-free

We visit Hoebridge regularly as a family. The service is always attentive and friendly and the setting is pleasant. The food is excellent - freshly prepared and cooked to order. Of particular note are the cooked breakfasts, which are plentiful and delicious. The ingredients are of stand-out quality; bacon and sausages from local butchers, Conisbee's, and free range eggs. My only suggestion might be to swap the pre-sliced bread (used for toast) to nice handcut slices from a bloomer or farmhouse loaf. The barista coffee (Lavazza) is delicious, too. This is also a nice place for a relaxed evening drink and bar meal. The menu caters for most without being too extensive to compromise on quality. Well done, Hoebridge - keep up the good work.

Food was presented really nicely; all pretty happy wih it. Mine however was not how it was ordered. The staff are all very friendly and couldn't do enough for us and to make sure we had everything we needed. We will certainly be returning here and will certainly recommend it to our family and friends.

Thought we would try a Ramsay Street Burger seeing as we were in the area and hungry. Had not been before and went in with no expectations. Have used a number of Ramsay Restaurants previously, which have been hit and miss. Place appeared to be very clean and well maintained. Not sure how long it has been open for. Wasn't too busy at the time we arrived. Has been decorated in what I assume is the current trendy style with graffiti and industrial decor. A server offered us a choice of tables and came straight over with the menus. It didn't take us long to find something we liked and we ordered. Drinks were delivered promptly and the food followed soon after. I had the 'Idiot burger', which comes with fries. And this was really good. Very hot, very tasty and a good size. Chips were also great - well seasoned, hot and a good quantity. My wife had a vegetarian Butternut Bhaji burger which was quite good. It had lost some heat due to the mint sauce within the burger, which then spilt everywhere. This may have been better on the side in a pot? She didn't enjoy her chips as much but they were still good. Service all done by the same gent who was great, but we didn't catch his name. He was very efficient and friendly. Prices were not bad at all. All the burgers with fries are £18. They are bit smaller than others in the area for a similar price but were still a good size and the taste was amazing. Would happily go again.

Spur of the moment decision. No queue know why ! For nearly 8 of your English pounds 3 not easily identifiable pieces of chicken ( poor quality pieces - broken bones etc ) a manky portion of chips and a fizzy drink . The coating on the chicken is not what I remember. The very small portion of poor quality chips ( off cuts and rejects ) were over coated in some spicy flavour . The drinks ‘bar’ had two taps for Pepsi max . They offered NO sugared option like Coke or Pepsi . No pepper sachet ! Overpriced rubbish - never again

Food quality very poor… What are they managing when serving such pathetic food. Treat day for the kids, which resulted in a cardboard festival of such poor quality. Half filled containers of fries which looked days old and nuggets shrivelled and cold. Keep going and making the shareholders more greedy.
